Piazza della Signoria is a w-shaped square in front of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. It was named after the Palazzo della Signoria, also called Palazzo Vecchio. It is the main point of the origin and history of the Florentine Republic and still maintains its reputation as the political focus of the city. It is the meeting place of Florentines as well as the numerous tourists, located near Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza del Duomo and gateway to Uffizi Gallery.

Beautiful square with with extraordinary and detailed sculptures and with a beautiful fountain. There are cozy restaurants around to sit and enjoy the beauty. You can also sit at the stairs with a snack and take a break from your walk. The buildings are very strong and powerful and give you a feeling of being back in time in the past. The square is very spacious and is a must visit!

It’s one of the nicest Piazza’s you will ever visit. The statues are absolutely stunning, they are all so incredibly unique and are in very good condition. It’s got lots to do and see in and around this area. There are several museums located close by and lots of shops and restaurants to visit. I would definitely recommend checking out this area of Florence.

The main, the most beautiful, and the most expansive of all piazzas in Florence. This is where the Palazzo Vecchio is located as well as the Loggia dei Lanzi and some of the most famous statues in al renaissance, Michelangelo's David, Cellini's Perseus and others. If you've ever heard the word Renaissance or the name de Medici or Michelangelo then you'll be delighted to let your eyes feast on the spectacular sights of Piazza della Signoria. It is loaded with great architecture and especially, with great sculptures, all free of charge. Yes, there are restaurants and there are great museums there to see, but the restaurants are overpriced and museums offer long lines and herds of tourists while it wont cost you a penny to see all the wonders on the piazza, just be careful not to fall victim to the street performing comedian who wanders about the place!

This Plaza along with the others in this area are Wonderful in the evening time. The city of Florence is clean and easy to navigate. All of the alley ways lead to the plazas or bridges. There is delicious food and drinks around every corner along with some of the best shopping shopping.

Great area to enjoy. Some steps you can sit and rest your feet, or lots of restaurants as well. Great people watching, fountains to fill up water bottles with still or sparkling water, some Great architecture around, and statues that have been beautifully done to enjoy as well. Great place to stop for food, or a treat, and have a bit of a recharge.

The vastness and the story of each building on it are fascinating, but the multitude of perfect statues is what takes your breath away. You really have the impression that they are alive...that the movement will continue, the hair will untangle, the muscles will be taut...you know that it is only a stone, but it evokes absolute respect for the creator.

I love Florence. Incredible history, just amazing! This is the most beautiful Piazza! I had the most amazing pasta with mussels in the corner restaurant in the piazza. I mean Florence is stunning, so you just can't go wrong.

Beautiful square in the city center, steeped in art and history. It's worth to sit and enjoy the views. You definitely will not miss this place while walking around Florence. It's best to come early in the morning when there are no crowds of tourists.

Quality views in the city center, too crowded but that is something that you cannot avoid if you are here. Marvelous building dated a long time ago. Statues that are mind blowing but not original, the originals are in the museum which is fair enough.

Stunning sculptures, only one is the original. It’s the bronze of Perseus holding Medusa’s head. The rest are all replicas. The originals are safe indoors at the museums.

Beautiful square with outstanding and intricate sculptures and a lovely fountain. There are a number of quiet eateries around where you can sit and take in the scenery. You can also take a break from your trek by sitting on the stairwell with a snack. The structures are massive and imposing, giving you the impression of being transported back in time. The square is large and inviting, and it is a must-see!

Very nice historic palace building with impressive decor and educational information. No real waiting times for us and reasonably priced. If you want to go up the tower there are specific time slots assigned with the ticket.

The piazza della Signoria is a lively square with fountains and public art and sculptures. It is close to Uffizi gallery. Palazzo Vecchio is in this piazza. It was crowded because of the holidays but all in all a good open public space.

We stayed right in the plaza above the restaurant overlooking the square. Absolutely amazing to visit. Getting the guy to tour the castle is also worthy of your time. Make sure to check it out if you're ever in Florence.

Beautiful square with the bars and restaurants and many statues. The statue of David (copy) is in the square and together with the fountain it creates a charming atmosphere. We were lucky to enjoy the concert of a classical musical right at the square at night and it was amazing experience. There are also other enlightened statues around to admire also with the possibility of entering the hall.

What a wonderful and lively square - this one was our favorite in Florence. Lots of wonderful fountains and sculptures to admire as well, all original aside from the fake David (the real on is in the Accademia Gallery a short walk away).

Even just for a replica, the statue of David are amazing! Very crowded by tourists, but you must come here while you are in Florence! Many statues for you to view, some of them dated 2000 years old! We are stepping back in time!

It is an open place with many sculptures. You can see few sculptures similar to David without going inside Uffizi.

One of the most famous squares in Florence, frequented busted by many tourists because it contains the most famous Italian landmarks of Florence and its proximity to major attractions. The square includes the Vecchio Palace, the Uffizi Gallery and others, in addition to the famous Michelangelo statue, the Neptune Fountain and many other statues. Worth to step by.

Incredible statues and buildings. Very special. A lot to see in a relatively small area. Especially if you couldn’t / can’t get to the original David and Museum a few miles away.
