Everybody knows Michelangelo's David from the art and history books, but seeing it for yourself is truly something else. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the grandeur and perfection in this statue. It should be an obligation for every visitor of Florence to see this for themselves. Try coming early so you don't have to queue for a long time and can enjoy the beauty of David when it's less busy.

Quite a moving masterpiece, pictures don't do it justice, definitely a must see once in your life experience. The rest of the museum is pretty cool too, but the hallway of Michaelangelo's early carvings leading to David is a really cool exhibit. I would recommend either getting a VIP tour / skip the line ticket, and/or also doing it first thing in the morning.

So what did you do when you were 25? We took an organized tour. Worth the extra price to avoid the massive lines. Expect crowds. But there are waves and pockets of better photo ops.

I arrived without reservation but asked the guy in charge of the line for advice. He gave me a ticket with a number and I ended up going in 30 minutes later. Did pay €16 and just to see a statue that did seem a lot. On the other hand, I didn't want to miss this and I am glad that I went. David is an impressive sight to behold. Expected a bigger crowd inside but as you can see I was able to get some pictures without people around me. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I'd definitely recommend going here on your trip to Florence, but make sure to book ahead for your tickets as they sell out well in advance! Small museum compared to others, but lots of great things to see. The David is amazing to see in real life, as well as other marble sculptures my Michaelangelo. The music room was also worth a walk around. Some of the paintings in the gallery have been beautifully restored and the colours look amazing! We booked tour tickets from Slow Tours via Get Your Guide, and our tour guide was great at telling us the history around The David and Michaelangelo's work through his life. Our tour guide included our ticket to the museum, meaning we could wander at our leisure once the tour was over, which we did (see a selection of my photos attached). Only odd things were the announcements every so often for "silence" as well as a member of staff telling people to "shushh!", but we didn't understand why this was necessary.

Must go to museum, specially for the David statue Entrance was 16€. It is recommended to get tickets in advance or else the wait in line is over 2hours. You can get a ticket either online or from their on site office next to the museum - theyll book you a timed entrance

Wow...what an amazing place! David made an incredible impression on me. The masterpiece created by Michelangelo is simply breathtaking. I recommend buying tickets online in advance, because the Gallery is always crowded with tourists, but it's understandable because everyone who visiting Florence wants to see this masterpiece on their own eyes.

This was the first stop of our trip to Florence. It was to the Accademia Gallery, to see, you guessed it, the statue of David. We went an hour before closing, and we saw a queue of five people, so apparently it’s a good time to go. The other gallery pieces are impressive, but David eclipsed the rest. It’s really more beautiful than the rest of the pieces.

The museum is a must-visit destination in Florence. Michelangelo's work is simply amazing and the famous statue David is an absolute masterpiece. Seeing it in person is breathtaking, every detail on the statue is overwhelming and even the tiniest details look awesome. To avoid the long queues, it's recommended to arrive early and be patient in waiting for people to step back so that you can fully enjoy the beauty of David with fewer people around. Additionally, booking tickets in advance is highly recommended.

Seeing the statue of David was incredible, rest of the museum had lots of church artifacts and frescoes from the 1400's. Fun to walk through and not too big either. If you go on Sundays they have free entry for everyone.

Nice but a bit overrated. Even with the prebooked ticket you have to go to pickup another ticket. They dont verify the time on the ticket

Highly recommend securing entrance tickets for morning slots in advance. Upon entering, observe the statue of David first to avoid a crowd. Was able to get some photos without people in it. When leaving, it was much more crowded.

I was able to go in after booking a tour around Florence, the agency had tickets to this Michaelangelo after, this allowed us to skip the long lines. However I would not stand in the lines, especially during summer. Not bad though, a nice thing to tick of the bucket list.

During my recent visit to the David of Michelangelo, I appreciated the timeless artistry and attention to detail in the sculpture. The museum environment was conducive to a contemplative experience, allowing me to immerse myself in the historical significance of the masterpiece. However, it's worth noting that the popularity of the exhibit can lead to crowded conditions, affecting the overall enjoyment for some visitors. Nonetheless, the cultural value and significance of seeing such an iconic work in person make it a worthwhile visit for art enthusiasts.

An absolute must-see! David was breathtaking - every detail is incredible. You can’t go to Florence without making a visit here. There are more sculptures within the museum too.

Incredible! Super crowded. We had a guided tour and it was difficult to hear with all the back ground noise. Couldn't really see all the other art work, just too crowded.

Worth every single penny, i experienced this museum through a tour which was nice cause i was able to skip the line with my group. The sculptures are absolutely incredible, mesmerizing experience. And of course David, i was staring at him for i don't even know how long, such incredible work into the sculpture and it is displayed brilliantly.
