Excellent food and delicious beer and spritz. Ideally located right on the square. It is pricy if you are looking for something cheaper it is probably best to wander further from the main attractions.

Only been in Florence for half a day and find it so beautiful, full of life and character. Can't wait to experience a full day.

Nice piazza, but modern, not comparable to the renaissance aged piazza. However the vibe of people, lots of cafés and the merry go round has made it pretty interesting. Worth a visit.

Nice and beautiful square with it’s famous and trademark of lovely carousel. The place is so lively with all those cafes all around. There is a hotel in the area. There are some artists on the side. Worth checking out if you get here in Florence

Great place to enjoy with kids. There is a merry-go-round for very cheap price. You can ride one ride for 1 euro. Worth for money. We enjoyed alot.

Big square with a lot of history that related back to the romans. It is usually not as crowded as other squares in Florence because it lacks status and fountains. Nevertheless it is worth a visit. Small hint, there is a commercial center on one site where thez have a rooftop bar with amazing views.

This is a lovely square with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Many young people can be seen hanging out here. There are also many clothing shops in the vicinity. Some street artists and musicians can be found around the square, and they are amazing. Additionally, there is a merry-go-round which makes it a great place for kids to visit as well.

Visited this piazza to give the kids a break from the sight seeing. Carousel was the perfect break and they loved it! Plenty of restaurants in the piazza along with the Apple Store and Michael Kohr's directly across if you came for the shopping. Less than 5 minutes walk from main duomo. Highly recommend visiting, taking a seat and enjoy people watching🙂

Once you’re in Florence’s city centre, it is impossible to miss. It is quite a pleasant stop in the evenings when streets artists perform… and kids or young couples may ride the Carrousel.

Lively piazza with a lot of shopping and eating options around it. It has a carousel 🎠 at its centre which gives this entire place a character.

This large piazza is a good stopping point between Pointe Vecchio and the Piazza del Duomo. Surrounded by small shops and a few cafe's a spot to take a break from sightseeing with a caffe or even a little shopping. The couple of times we passed through it was not very crowded, but just crowded enough to linger. There is also a very nice working merry-go-round that both children and adults seemed to enjoy.

A nice open, city square, with a resident Carousel that lightens up the square by night. Worth a trip and then following with an ice cream. Don’t be pulled in by the ‘fake’ musicians though.

One of the most beautiful parts of Florence, the Piazza della Repubblica was originally Roman and is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings. We came here for the Easter parade (Scoppio del Carro) which was superb! Florence on Easter Sunday is something special

The Piazza della Republica is a luxurious site in Rome. During day and night, this place is a real nice place to visit. A good café is located on the piazza. I like the lighting during night. You can visit the luxury brands all over the place. My favorite time to be there is always late evening when not a lot of cars are there. You will appreciate every single detail in the architecture of the buildings all around the piazza.

A quaint place you may want to stop by if you’re in the area in Florence. Impressive architecture surrounds you (like most of Florence), with a large open place and filled with some vendors and a very cheap carrousel that my friends and I enjoyed when we visited in 2016. It’s pretty simple and more modern than lots of other places, meaning you shouldn’t come here for any impressive views, or statues, or anything like that. It’s a crowded touristy spot but nice and pretty.

Beautiful square with a lot of shops, restaurants, the carousel, and quite a few Christmas lights. Really beautiful scene at night

a nice place to hangout, though pretty crowded. there was a procession with people dressing in period customes when we were there. i just don’t get the merry-go-round at the center, kinda destroys the grandness of the plaza.

Centrally located piazza with multiple restaurants with seating on the piazza. Also a cute carousel. Very touristy. Be watchful of your belongings here as there can be beggars. Nice to hang out at or meet as a central location.

In Roman times, Piazza della Repubblica was the site of Florence's forum, a central location and a place where people met to shop and socialize. In the second half of the nineteenth century, the square was redesigned when Florence became the capital of a reunited Italy, albeit briefly. Nowadays, it's still a vibrant meeting place for locals and tourists alike.

Dinner at Gilli was fantastic! There is an Apple store and tons of high end fashion boutiques (Gucci, YSL, D&G, Prada, etc) within a two block radius.

So beautiful and nice architecture . It’s was my first visit to this country but not much time to see everything

For your viewing pleasure, this is a pleasant plaza with some statues and beautiful ancient architecture, but a little too many tourists concentrated in one area. It's also good for people watching if you can find a vacant seat..
