Don't waste your time and 10 euro go to this poorly maintained museum, you have been warned. I have traveled in different places in Italy for 30 days, and visited more than 20 museums. So far, this is the worst museum I encountered. There are no more than 10 rooms, only two of them are truly worthy of visiting - the Chapel with beautiful wall paintings, and the big hall room with ceiling frescos. The problem is, you are only allowed to stay in the Chapel for 5 minutes, and the hall room is closed for entrance. The items on display in other rooms are mediocre at best (the so called archeological site at the basement is a joke), and there are almost no description for each items inside the rooms and courtyards, be it sculptures or oil paintings. In one particular room, strong sun light shines directly on the oil paintings, which is terrible. I complained to one staff in the room, and she could not care less.

Loved this place! I do wish we were offered an audio guide. We haven't seen many explanations for most of the things we see in exhibitions and it makes it harder to appreciate how influential or prestigious a thing we're looking at.

This once grand house of the famous Medici family is not so grand anymore. There are a few highlights that make it worth a visit but it’s just not as amazing as one would imagine. The best part was first room when you go upstairs with a mural all over the four walls. That is amazing.

A nice palace with interesting history. Personally, I prefer a more-preserved styled palace, but considering the history behind it, it makes sense. Additionally, the place had a place dedicated for animation and cartoons. It was interesting as well. Overall, a good experience. The staff were helpful, and the process was simple.

Lovely palace, and also a must see in Florence. This family was very important for the Florence history and once you visited their palace you can get a sence how powerful and rich they were. And how classy they were. Truly amazing place. Also check their working hourse because one day they don't work... I think it's Thursday, but make sure to check before you visit

I have been studying for the Medici family for a long time! I'm completely at all that I was in the palace that they once flourished for many centuries. It was beautiful and I love the fact that the tour was self-guided and you could Go to different floors in different rooms of the compound.

If you are expecting looking for atworks and masterpieces, this could be or not you place. Give a chance to the art from the walls and the antique furniture. Also this place has free wifi if you need it for internet and benches around the palace to sit down.

I love history and was super excited. Unfortunately with the same amount I was disappointed. Especially for 10€ entrance fee. The building was kind of run down. Most rooms empty (except one random picture and a undefined old chair). In the basement was a history exhibition (nice idea) but again empty rooms and not much information about the few items. Was out in 30min and saw all. Still one extra star just because it’s the Medici house.

It was a little difficult to find the correct entrance. Great spot to visit. It’s just large enough to be worth the ticket price but not large enough to be overwhelming. Many of the rooms had air conditioning. The temporary collection is nice. The permanent rooms, particularly the chapel, are amazing. The museum may oversell its basement archeological section.

To be in one of the Medici’s homes fills the mind with reflection and the times of this powerhouse of a family. Thanks for Luisa Medici who saw fit to donate all the properties to the state for a perpetual museum for the ions to enjoy. We have to give credit to the Medici families foresight in support of all the arts that make Florence what it today, what it was yesterday and shall be tomorrow. They host beautiful intimate concerts in the center atrium and the sound fills the Palazzo.

Wobderful! Must to do in Florence. I takes around 1/5 , 2 hours to visit all. Ticket desk and Gift shop staffs are very helpful. They have a Digital exhibition for Benozzo Gozzoli artist and Magi chapel, nobody didnt tell us to visit first. Do it FIRST IS a MUST! It's so nice The fjapel was empty almost and i enjoyed alot. They dont have time restrictions now in FEB 2022, cause it's not crowdy. Ticket is 10 euros and it's open till late. 19:00 Archeological part is good but if you don't have time, skip it, nothing special. Enjoy your visit 💎🙋🏻‍♂️💚🌏🇮🇹

Not as long as many sights you could see in Florence, but it is amazing to see how the Medici family lived. The outside garden is stunning and the art is incredible. The bonus is that it wasn't as busy as other places.

It was a beautiful, historical, functioning building that was partially in exhibition & partially in use as the seat of Florence city (hence modern conference equipment). The museum was however empty, took only 30 mins to go through the rooms + archeological site (nothing special). Likely because 1) a timed entrance was mandatory, 2) it was a down time between special exhibits. There was no floor map/guide, which would be good to have, as I wondered if I missed some rooms. Simply by reading the info cards in the rooms, I didn’t get the depth of its significance that was described by the museum: “The first Medici palace, the home of Cosimo the Elder and Lorenzo the Magnificent and the workplace of artists of the caliber of Donatello, Michelangelo, Paolo Uccello, Benozzo Gozzoli and Botticelli. The Renaissance house… where it all began.”

It's a very nice museum. I definitely recommend you to go. If you have seen the Medicis series and you are a fan, you should definitely go here.

This understated art gallery and museum actually doubles as city hall! It is a great stop with amazing art from Luca Giordano. Only €15 for adults and free for anyone under the age of 18. Highly recommended.

The original Medici palace, which is now an easily accessible museum and is located between the Duomo and the Accademia. Interesting that the City Hall of Florence is also located here. Nice place to work. On a side of the historic museum is a small rotating museum of other notable Florentine artists etc.

It was pretty cool visiting the palace and seeing where the Medici family lived in before. It is well-maintained and clean and I didn’t find it too crowded when we visited. Neat paintings and lavish rooms inside. My dad knows quite a bit about the Medici family so it was more interesting for him than it was for me but I was still quite fascinated with everything I saw!

Such a beautiful palace! It is definitely worth visiting while in Florence. We recommend getting the Firenze card, you will save money and time. The palace is full of history, walking on the Medicis steps was amazing.

Interesting and quite contradictory architecture! Brunelleschi’s more fancy design was rejected in favour of quite hard and masculine design by Michelozzo, influenced by Brunelleschi. There is a very fancy gilded mirrored baroque room with frescos. There is some art (including Lippi) and sculptures well worth seeing. No Donatello. The chapel is very special.

An ornate Florence palazzo once home of the Medici. Beautiful frescoes and ornate rooms.

The place looks nice, but I gave only three stars 🌟 since the people in the museum did not know the story of the place. I wanted to know more about the place but there are no one which could help us, the QR code did not worked...

If you love art and architecture and want to see all the most beautiful things in one place, in less time, this is the best museum in Florence for you! The roofs inside are to die for🤍 one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture today.

Just beautiful! Not the most effective customer experience at the entrance (not something unusual, though). But the beauty of the pieces inside worth the wait.

Super fun to get some of the photo from the Hannibal TV show but also just a cool building with nice art. You can really get up close to the busts which is fun. Would suggest if you have done most the other “big” items in Florence. Had some modern art as well.

Amazing baroque architecture. Enter by signing up outside for a time slot, pay upon entry inside. Was only 10 euro per person.

Today we were in this museum at the entrance number one and wanted to find out if admission is free on the first Sunday of the month. The museum employee was very rude and behaved arrogantly when she heard our Slavic accent. The museum's website says that admission to the museum on the first Sunday of the month is really free, BUT for citizens of Florence, and we overlooked this detail. The employee could politely point this out, but she humiliated us by saying where we could read such nonsense, and that she works in this museum, not us. We could have paid for the entrance, but after such insolence, we will never return to this museum again and our whole impression of Florence has been ruined forever. We do not recommend it.
