You need to book to visit the tower in advance. You will be offered a time slot to visit. You need to arrive 15 minutes before going up the tower. There are 233 steps to climb to the top of the tower, there are additional steps before climbing the tower. The stairway is narrow. It costs $12.50 to visit. The tower is open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday to Sunday 9:00 to 17:00 and Thursday 9:00 to 14:00 pm. It is the most expensive tower we visited.

Amazing views and not as crowded so it was amazing to see. We got tickets in the morning without reservations combined with the museum and got the 10am time slot for the tower and 11am for the museum. There are definitely quite a few steps but the view was totally worth it.

I almost got spooked out of climbing the tower due to posted warnings that people who are afraid of heights or claustrophobic are discouraged from climbing- however, as someone who is terrified of both heights and small spaces, I truly thought this was not scary at all. The staircase is at least two people wide the whole way up, didn’t feel cramped to me in the slightest. And the tower itself did not personally activate my fear of heights- you’re safely within a structure the entire time and it didn’t feel scary to me at all. Just trying to write the review I was looking for when I was feeling freaked out by the warnings! It’s worth the awesome views!!!

This tower isn't as known as other view points in Florence, but offers arguably the best views of the doumo. Tickets need to be booked in advance, but the views are great. Not to be missed

Highly recommend. Best to go nice and early at 9am so the place is not crowded and you get to enjoy the view more.

I don't think it's worth paying as much as 12,5 EUR for the "panoramic" view. It is very disappointing and not possible to see anything as the view is blocked, and you cannot approach the wall. I really cannot comprehend how this can be charged additionally, the same price as the palace itself! I feel like I was ripped off and paid for nothing. The staff acts like they never had this issue before and like they don't know the word "complaint". For a panoramic view just go to Piazzale Michelangelo for free....

The tower of Palazzo Vecchio takes its name from the architect Arnolfo di Cambio – an important personality in the Medieval Florence – who is considered its author. The tower is with no doubt one of the symbols of the town: it towers on the other buildings, with its 95 mt. of height. The tower was built at the beginning of the 14th century, with the first nucleus of the palace. In the same period, the ‘Government of the First People’ dictated to the unruly Florentine families to reduce the height of their towers. The function of Arnolfo’s tower was also a defence one: from the top it was possible to see enemies and to protect Government’s exponents.

The views from this tower are definitely worth the climb. Just have to typically book in advance. My son and I skipped the museum as I didn’t think he would like that as much as the climb and the view. Got to also check out one of the prison cells along the way. We even showed up 10 min late and the staff took a little bit to figure it out but were able to get us caught up with our group and we’re very accomodating. I’d recommend showing up on time though 😂.

Pallazzo Vecchio and Arnolfo Tower made an incredible impression on me! This is definitely a must-see place in Florence! I recommend buying a ticket online a few days in advance, the cost is about €18, with the possibility of entering the Arnolfo Tower from which there is a beautiful view of Florence, it's really worth it!

Very disappointed! The view is blocked by ropes that prevent you from going closer than 1m to the walls of the tower. There is only a single place with a selfie spot where you can take an unobstructed photo of the duomo. But of course you have to queue with the other people who also want to take a picture. If you are a very small person you cannot even see the horizon in the other directions. The duomo handles this much better by having metal bars/grids on top of the tower for safety, which still allow you to have a good view. Furthermore, you only have very little time to take pictures. You go up for 20 minutes (having to wait a lot inbetween), then you have only 5 minutes on the battlements, 10 minutes on the top (!!) and then you are already shoved back downstairs. This is really annoying, otherwise it could be the best view of the city. Feels like an easy way for the museum to make money of tourists.

€13.5 per person but I think it's worth it especially cause there's no line and not a lot of people. If you don't want to spend money you can go to Piazzale Michelangelo for similar views.

Wasn’t particularly organised but arrived at 9am on a Friday with a Firenze Card and quickly got my ticket from the info centre. Ended up first up the tower which was special - having the views to myself for a few minutes. And what views! Definitely worth the walk up - plus there are stops on the way with different angles to see, and you pass the gaol cell used to house Savonarola and others over the years..

I pre-purchased a ticket online, but when I arrived at the time it was raining. I was told the tower was closed. I came back the next day and was denied entry and refunds are not allowed either. They claimed that the tower doesn't close; however, I was told that and as a tourist I didn't know. I'm out 13 euros and wasted a bunch of time. I suggest going elsewhere and to skip this place so you don't lose your money either. Maybe the piazzale Michelangelo (free view) or dome of the Fiore.

It's cost 12.5 euro. The tower is very nice, I liked walking there. nice view of the square from the first level, BUT there is tight a rope, (fenceat) at the top of tower and you can't go up to the wall and see what's going on below! this is a minus. Not good pictures from the top... But we pay for it enough....

Great views out over Firenze. Went early on a weekday, so I had the tower almost to myself! Booking in advance would definitely save you time when it's busy.

    >45min wait + €5 extra to visit this top-rated attraction for a panoramic view of Florence? And a hot and stuffy wait on the stairs even right before it closes, and even on weekday? Crazy!! No thanks... it’s a tourist trap and rip-off for me. Well only if you’ve got nothing else better to do to kill time...

The tower is one of the tallest buildings in the city as it is its 95 mt heigh and there is 233 steps to the top where there are two bell chambers and the big weathervane. The tower of Palazzo Vecchio takes its name from its architect Arnolfo di Cambio and was built in the 14th century. It is advisable to book tickets in advance as the tower can only accommodate a small number at a time. Well worth the visit as you get really good views over the whole city.

Such a disappointing experience. I purchased the ticket to the tower (€13.5) in advance. On arrival I followed the signs to the tower before being berated by a member of staff for having a backpack on. I was directed to the ticket office at which point I was told that access to the top of the tower was restricted due to rain. In addition I was told I needed to “hurry” despite arriving at 10am for which my ticket was for. To be clear there had been light rain in the morning but this had settled by the time I got to the tower. The backpack had to be stored in a locker. I was able to ascend a few floors and the views were ok but certainly not worth the €13.5 that I paid. In addition there was no information provided about the tower- who built it, why it was built etc. A disappointing experience.

The view was nice of the city. However, despite paying the full price, I only had access to the first level of the tower and the rest was closed due to rain. It is weird that the online price costs one euro more. It is overcharged given what you get.

Well, it's kind of pricy - but the sight is worth it!! We went to the Palazzo first at 09.00 am without queueing at all (in July!!) and to the tower afterwards. There was no one up there except us. We were allowed up there about 15 minutes, which is enough to admire the amazing view. One should definitely go there in the morning, because there is less of a crowd of tourists.

The views from the top were stunning. Lots of stairs so be prepared outfit wise! Buy a ticket as early as you can as you get appointed the next time slot. Must do on your trip to Florence!

It’s alright Nothing overly fascinating Quite busy Clean area Plenty of shops Plenty of shops selling bags! Not a great vegan selection Lots of gelato shops - vegan selection but may find them to be sorbets… Stone drop from the river where the heart of their jewellery quarters are Defo a visit if your in the area

Great viewing point in Florence. 360• Very unique. Quite busy and might have to queue to come up to the top sometimes. Also get ready to walk up and down small stairs case can only do oneway at a time. Comfy shoes and breathable clothing is recommended:-p
