So much history here. Highly recommended in comparison to the cathedral which is quite empty inside in comparison. Botticelli, the sister of Napoleon are buried here and some amazing treasures and artefacts on display.

Really liked it here and as a bonus the young guy on the organ practicing was playing Lord of the Rings theme tune which was an unexpected bonus! I went about 6pm-ish on a Wednesday can't say if it's a regular occurrence or I just got lucky

A Franciscan church in Florence. Dedicated to saints and martyrs known and unknown. Completed in 1250 and with several restaurations in the following centuries. Works like the madonna and child with angel by Giotto and Boticelli’s fresco of St Augustin are some of its treasures. A Last Supper fresco by Ghirlandaio is a masterpiece to be admired in the refectory

I was touched by this church that I happened to pass by on my way back to the hotel. Napoleon's sister was secretly buried here since Napoleon had been banished from Italy and she could not have a public burial. So much history here and so many lives intwined over the centuries. If you have tge opportunity to visit stop by this amazing little church. You will find frescoes and see how they have been restored after the floods that have ravished this area several times in the past.

The church is the final resting-place of one of the greatest painters of the Renaissance, Sandro Botticelli, who was born in Florence and died there in 1510.

Beautiful church, one of the most beautiful ones in all Florence of you ask me. Don’t miss the masterpieces by Botticelli and Ghirlandaio. Worth a visit!

Without doubt, this is a church to be visited. A remarkable example of a medieval church that was rebuilt in the early 17th century Baroque, one of the first of its kind in Florence. Beautiful 15th century frescoes by Botticelli - St Augustine in his Study, midway along the northeast wall of the nave directly opposite to Ghirlandaio's - St Jerome in his Study. Also a recent cleaning of the Crucifix in the left transept attributes the work to Giotto. Botticelli is buried in this church. Many other fine pieces of art to be appreciated here. Sit in the nave and gaze at the Baroque ceiling with its diminishing perspectives. A moment for quiet reflection in this troubled life .....

I didn't go inside the church, but went with my friend to see the recently restored frescoes in an adjoining building. Its only open to the public twice a year, Easter and Christmas.

Beautiful church, quiet (but mid-January) lots of details to see, no admission charge. I originally went on Tuesday, which is the day it's closed, but glad I returned when it was open.

Beautiful church with breathtaking frescoes and works of art. This is the place where Botticelli lies.

Beautiful and inviting. No charge. Look for Amerigo Vespucci’s family chapel—who gave his name to America, Botticelli’s tomb and one of Napoleon’s sisters.
