Palazzo Ridolfi all I can say is thank you! My girlfriend (now fiancé) and I started out or trip in Rome and being our first time in Italy was left disappointed however upon our much anticipated arrival to Florence we were blown away by the beauty of the city. We arrived by train and within a 12 minute walk we arrived at Palazzo Ridolfi. We were greated by large wooden door that lead into an open courtyard and an elevator that looks like it is from the 1920s. Do not let this rustic theme fool you once in the elevator you are carried up to the third floor and through the door to reception like a portal you arrive at a bright welcoming lobby. Our room was not yet ready upon arrival (we arrived before check in time) however we were able to store our bags, complete the check in process and gather all the necessary information about the area from a very helpful receptionist Inga. We went out to explore the city a bit more while we waited for the room and to say the location is perfect is an understatement to your left is the authentic Italian back streets with beautiful food and small shops and to the right with a three minute walk you are greeted by stores such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Prada and so so much more. All the main tourist attractions are also with a max of fifteen minutes from the Plazzo. Within thirty minutes we got a call to say the room was ready and we came back to the Plazzo. We booked the Ridolfi Suite. Most hotel photos can be deceiving but the suite looked exactly the way we see it on the website and large open plan suite with six meter high walls and an original fresco on the roof that we discovered from talking to staff was once covered over and rediscovered during renovations. If looking for recommendations speak to the staff all the girls are so unbelievably friendly and if you are like me and speak no Italian their english is absolutely fantastic. Inga went above and beyond helping me pick the perfect restaurant called La Logga to dine at before popping the big question to my girlfriend. She was extremely patient giving me numerous options and advice from personal experience in each option. This really settled the nerves for me. Upon arriving back to the hotel Avida, one of the staff members had been in and flipped the room around a complete shock to both me and my fiancé. A bottle of Prosecco along with candles, hand writing congratulations note and a rose petal heart on the bed awaited us. We both immediately went out to thank the staff for their generosity and Avida seemed more excited than my fiancé about the proposal which added to her own excitement. The breakfast was perfect. The coffee amazing and the staff, well staff have created a stay we will never ever forget!! The little things go a massive way in the hospitality industry and the Plazzo Ridolfi is doing everything to perfection. Would not dream of staying anywhere else when we return. I have been a manager in three of Irelands top five, 5 star hotels and can say this with full confidence the Plazzo Ridolfi will not disappoint you. Thank you again to all the amazing staff!!

We stayed in the apartment in the court yard, I picked it as it looked nice on the pictures, quaint and quiet. It was a surprise for my wife. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the main city and sights. I'm struggling to work out where the value of the €530 for two nights lays. The apartment was very basic, a small kitchen, a small living room, a small seating area upstairs a small bedroom and you've guessed it, a small bathroom. The downstairs toilet smelt like stagnant water, which was less than pleasant. The shower on first use couldn't even hold the weight of the shower head, but to the staff's credit they fixed it very quickly while we were out for dinner and even gave us a bottle of brut as a token gesture. Very nice. Breakfast was basic, really nothing special, I've stayed in basic hotels in the UK and eaten better, for sure. But again, the staff were very attentive. The staff are excellent, very polite, very accommodating. I'm just a little disappointed that I paid so much for something so underwhelming. Aside from the Roche Borbois chairs in the little living room, there was very little that justified the price tag. Maybe I should have booked a hotel room and not the apartment, but I'd have been shelling out significantly more. I don't think I'd return, it's very over priced for what I paid for, quite disappointing in fact.

Simply one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. We stayed for five nights in the penthouse and cannot wait to return - the views of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio were breathtaking. Having our kitchen was excellent and we cooked one night, and daily included breakfast was of a very high standard. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the location in Oltrarno is the best place to stay in Florence.

What can I say! Wow. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite and it was stunning. A huge room, comfortable bed and a bathroom with double basin with an original featured ceiling . We booked this stay at the start of 2023 to finish off our Italian tour and it was certainly the best stay of our trip. Original high ceilings with attention to detail. A special mention for the staff, Evita and Inga went out of their way on every occasion and making reservations and offering recommendations was always available. The old lift is a gem to use and the hatch to get back in after 8pm is novel. The location is right off the bridge over the water. We much preferred this area as the food felt more local. If you’re considering staying here don’t hesitate. Such a beautiful stay and I hope to be back one day and will certainly be staying in the same room. Thank you Emma & James

luxurious suites in the heart of Florence, meticulously maintained by charming and attentive staff. the room completely lives up to the pictures, including a huge original fresco on the ceiling. be aware that parking is done in corporation with a local garage, the valet worked well though. within the city however, you will not need the car. highly recommended luxury retreat!

My partner and I had an incredible stay at the Palazzo Ridolfi. The staff members are incredibly kind, helpful, and are quick to offer really solid recommendations for places to eat and things to do. We ate our best meals in Italy in Florence, thanks to their recommendations. The location away from the heart of the action (but still so close) is perfect, and the rooms are absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. I would 1000 percent recommend staying here!

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and it was a lovely experience! The staff was really helpful with reservations and taxis. The room was comfortable and clean with an amazing shower! We loved the neighborhood’s “quieter” more local atmosphere on some of the side streets while still being centrally located.

We stayed in the Prestige Room, it was very spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent, just outside of the hustle and bustle in the city centre and lots of local places to eat and drink at. The service was great also, we will definitely stay here again.

We had an incredible one night stay at Palazzo Ridolfi to end our honeymoon. From the moment we got into our room we wished we had more time to stay with them. The staff provided prompt and very friendly service that helped us with a variety of last minute requests that made our stay that much more enjoyable. We also had an in room massage service provided by their partners, Treatment Body and Soul, which was superb and I highly recommend. We’ll be organizing our next trip to Italy to route through Florence so we can have a longer stay next time. Grazie mile!

Just in case you got the COVID just before your travel and you have to cancel, do know that the hotel will not reimburse and will take the full amount.

Excellent location near Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace, Spirito Santo square which has plenty of good restaurants. The rooms are first-rate with high ceilings, large and well-appointed bathrooms, comfortable beds with fluffy pillows and very efficient and gracious staff. Inga was very helpful, checking us in in a breeze, giving us tips where to shop and where to eat. She also arranged taxi pick up for us, as we were catching an early flight to Zurich. Our stay was hassle-free and extremely pleasant.

A beautiful aparthotel in a perfect location, the apartments are perfectly decorated whilst maintaining the character of the building. Everything was faultless during our stay and the staff were super helpful and friendly, also accommodating when we were delayed checking-in.

Absolutely brilliant stay, look no further. We booked the Royal Suite and it was a truly special experience. The room and hotel is full of character and charm. When we checked in, we were greeted by the very warm and authentic Inga who gave great recommendations and made us laugh after a long journey. Thank you, we will recommend this to everyone!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay here! Let me start with the best thing to mention which is the hospitality. Maka took care of us from pre-arrival to departure. We felt like VIP’s. I asked for a recommendation for massages. Not only did she find a gem of a place but she booked the appointment for us and when we got lost on our way to the spa, she left the hotel, ran to find us, and escorted us to the front door. Although it was my error as her directions were perfect, she never once made me feel foolish. She showed us many destinations to see while in Florence. Seriously, we felt like royalty. Now, on to the rooms and the location. It has been recently refurbished so they were still working out the kinks for some of the technology but they handled it like pros. The refurb is amazing. They made sure to maintain the history and charm of the building. The best description I could give would be it was like walking into the building when it was new 400 years ago yet with modern conveniences. It couldn’t be in a better location as it is situated near some great restaurant and within short walking distance to the market places and historical attractions. Yet, it was quiet and a little less traveled so we didn’t feel rushed coming out of the building. My only regret on our trip to Italy is that we didn’t stay here long enough. Our next trip will feature many more days in Florence and this hotel Is one of the reasons why. It felt like a home away from home, we were sad to leave. I’ll give one last recommendation if this is your first visit... please tip your service providers. From servers in the restaurants to taxi drivers to your concierge, Maka. They deserve it and will not reach out a hand to beg you for one. But, it is greatly appreciated as they work for very little wages and will earn the right to receive a little gift of appreciation.

Booked in June 2020. Due to covid travel restrictions they pushed my booking to June 2021 since they had taken full payment in Feb 2020 itself. Due to travel restrictions again in June 2021 we could not travel because of restrictions imposed by the Italian government, we reached out for refund of extension of dates and they said we are the new owners and can not provide refund or extension of dates! They have take a lot of money from me and are now not even offering a refund or credit. Shocking
