This is one of Vero's best walking parks. Couple miles of flat walkways, easy terrain. Dog friendly, fisherman friendly, picnic friendly. There's a play yard with jungle gym and swings for kids. Tennis courts. The big Art show, Under the Oaks is held on the grounds nearest museum. As is the boat show and many other events. Check out Riverside Park schedule online. Inside the Memorial Park each of the armed forces and a few others are honored here with an area of reflection and plaque. There is an area where a select few of the fallen are layed to rest. Benches are there to take pause or for special events. Though not a veteran, the sanctuary honoring those who gave their lives in service is beautiful. The scenery, solitude and quiet are good for thinking and meditating on life. A+

Beautiful quiet area. Has benches on its path, and you can sit and relax. Enjoy the river view and watch the dolphins play around or some people fish from there. A nice little picnic area. There's a lot of big trees that offer a lot of shade. You can feel the wind flowing, and it feels really good. Really peaceful spot. I try to go there in the late evening to enjoy the sunset and it is less hot to this time of the year. If you are in the area, I would recommend visiting it. Definitely kids friendly spot. Juat makes sure not yo leave any trash behind and enjoy the walk. Lots of birds and squirrels. Don't think you are supposed to feed them, but they do tend to come close to you asking for nuts, lol.

This place is AMAZING!!! I happen to run across this little place by accident while I was looking for new places nearby to walk/run in the evenings. The island is beautiful and the paths are perfect. It is like a little sanctuary. You come over from the park and walk across the little bridge and it takes you onto the island. There are beautiful memorials for all of our armed service members and veterans as well as a huge iconic American flag at the entrance. I will definitely frequent this place!

A wonderful, peaceful retreat on the ocean for strolling (with or without your dog) and contemplating the sacrifices of the military. Very well maintained and fully accessible.

Beautiful place. My husband and his good friend/fellow marine were a part of a Memorial Day service here. Love visiting and going for walks!

Very nice park, tastefully done. Great place for a relaxed stroll and admire the dedications to our fallen heroes. Will be back to catch a sunset. Another nice feature is that it is located in Riverside Park with plenty to do in the area (museum, theatre etc.)

Nice sanctuary island that has a paved walking trail (approximately 1/2 mile around) with benches and monuments along the way. Decent amount of parking. Does get windy so prepare accordingly.

I love this place. It's a wonderful place for many reasons. Obviously to go and go give remembrance.. it's a great place to excerise. Sit down at a bench and relax and watch sunsets and boats, dolphins etc. The squirrels are friendly and follow you and will eat out of your hand. And if your lucky you will find rocks. Painted rocks . A lot of people hide rocks there for families to find..it's just all around a beautiful spot.

We are blessed to have this Island here in Vero Beach.. My Dad, still alive at 97, was recently honored on the island with other living WWII Merchant Marines. Also new Merchant Marine Memorial unveiled.

Small Island on the beach side of Vero Beach Florida dedicated to the memorial of fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our beautiful country. It is a beautiful area to reflect on what our hero’s have done for our country. There’s plenty of little areas where one can sit and enjoy the beauty of this island. You can’t go wrong taking an early morning drive to the island during your stay in Vero Beach Florida. God Bless America!
