This place was a once in a life time experience. You have to book an educational experience to be able to see the turtles - we booked online and were able to check know easily at the outside kiosk. The educational portion was entertaining and informative - she did a great job explaining the issues turtles face and how the hospital helps them. It never got gruesome in details or too medical - the perfect balance for us. We then went and saw the operating room, and then saw the turtles in the tanks. You cannot touch the turtles or hand feed them - its illegal to touch them and many are healing. You can get very close to them in the tank and feed them kibbles in the tide pool tank - you are still very close to them and can hear them breathing when they come up for air!!! This non-profit sea turtle hospital is doing the Lords work!

Melissa was an excellent guide! What a great educational experience to be able to share this with my kids! We are a turtle 🐢 family, with two members of our own being from the turtle species. 😉 (Pictures attached) We have had Willow and speedy for some time now and we absolutely love them! So we definitely had to check out the turtle hospital! Getting close up to these amazing creatures is an experience like no other! The tour lasted about an hour and a half. Melissa was very informative and it was evident she loved what she does! Thanks again Melissa! We are glad that there is such a place like this to help rescue and treat these amazing creatures!

This is a rain or shine event and, frankly, the rain during this tour made it that much more magical. Guide was knowledgeable and group was small and manageable. 12 of us total. More than that would have been too many. Great gift shop and you can "adopt" a turtle. You won't be disappointed with spending $30 on the reservation.

What a wonderful organisation and experience. We spent a few hours at the turtle hospital on their tour. It was super informative and just a delightful experience meeting the residents at this facility. Our tour guide was wonderful sharing lots of interesting information. Really recommend visiting and supporting this great cause.

This is the best tour I’ve ever done. Brooke did an exceptional job giving us a ton of valuable information about each of the 5 sea turtle species found in Florida. What I didn’t expect was that we got to see every turtle they have at the hospital. I assumed we’d only get to see a couple, so that was an awesome surprise. Highly recommend!

As a person who loves sea turtles, this was amazing. You learn so much and get to meet so many turtle friends. The experience also supports the hospital which is even better. These people love to help out the sea turtle community while also giving the people a safe space to experience this beautiful animal up close and personal. 10/10 would recommend as a stop on your trip.

Amazing experience. You get to see the turtles and how they treat them. They have Different areas for baby turtles, adults one, socks ones etc. Highly recommended. You can also adopt or become a member. Visit the website. Plenty of parking, kids friendly. Highly recommended.

The educational experience was amazing. Highly recommend it. Learned a lot about sea turtles that I didn't know about before! Karlee, our guide did a superb job, was awesomely personable, and answered any questions that anyone had, she was amazing! If you love sea life, definitely give this a shot. The money you spend helps to care for and feed the turtles that get saved, rehabilitated, and released.

Loved visiting the Turtle Hospital. We were given an informative presentation prior to seeing the sick and recovering turtles. There is a lot of info in the waiting area/gift shop. Reservations are suggested. Save a turtle by picking up trash on the beach.

Melissa was a great tour guide. It was very educational. The turtles are so cute, and we got to feed them. The gift shop is pretty tight, and there are a lot of people allowed on each tour (ours had about 40). It is good that they're making money to help the turtles, but it makes it hard to always see what the guide is talking about.

Excellent guides, humane facilities, and a great educational experience for all ages! You begin with a short introduction to the species handled in the hospital and then go outside to see the patients in the holding tanks (which, as a wildlife biologist and ecologist myself, made me very happy). All the turtles look as healthy as they can be given their various ailments. Stop by if you’re in the area!

This place is so awesome and a wonderful, safe haven for turtles! They truly care for turtles and the environment! They treat turtles and release them back into the ocean! Also, they take care of the ones that can not be released, so they need our support! Please go on a tour, it's about $35 and well worth it! You learn about turtles and how we as humans can help them survive and not harm them! They have a hospital, small gift shop, and tanks you can check to see the different turtles that live there! Check out their website for release parties on the beach! Great things happen when people care!

Melissa gave a great 90 minutes tour. She explained the history of this facility, a little about each of the five sea turtles found in Florida, what is causing their reduction in numbers, and the efforts this operational turtle hospital is taking to help out. It is worth the stop, but due it on your way into the keys not on the way out. This will help you better appreciate this beautiful creature while you're here. On a busy day parking can be a challenge if you arrive close to a scheduled tour time. So reserve in advance online a show up a little early.

The highly-rated score is spot on, we’re glad we squeezed this stop in our schedule. Our guide was professional and passionate about the mission of this institute, from general presentation to answering questions, and everything in between. We learned a lot from this 90 mins experience, feeding the turtles and spotting other little creatures along the way was exciting too. Great family activity!

Fantastic organization dedicated to helping sea turtles. The young lady who guided our group through the facility was super knowledgeable, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. She knew the story behind each of the many turtles being rehabilitated. The facility was top notch from the tanks to the state-of-the-art operating room.

We have visited the Florida Keys many times but never made it to visit the Turtle Hospital. We finally made it and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Melissa was very knowledgeable and funny. It was great to learn the history of the hospital and learn about all we can do to help protect and save sea turtles. This is a must-visit tour. You absolutely should make your reservation in advance. They don’t take payments online but you can book your tour in advance. Make sure to fill out your waivers before arriving but don’t worry, they have a bunch of iPads ready for you, on-aite if you need to fill them out there.
