A great place to visit if you love nature and farming. This place offers an hour and half tour around the place and proves education about sustainability and various ways of farming in different parts of the world and their climates. This is a nonprofit organization which provides education not just locally but, around the world (mainly in disadvantaged parts). Their goal is to provide knowledge about sustainable farming, so small communities can become independent by growing their own crops. It was very interesting to see and taste various plants which may be new to some individuals. During the tour they offer water to drink, which was very thoughtful. They also have a small gift shop inside the building, and a nursery where you can buy some plants. As I was told donations are welcome as this is their way to operate and do great deeds.

ECHO is THE place to go if you enjoy gardening. Their mission to feed the world by targeted horticulture solutions is truly inspiring! I have visited the farm many times over the 30 plus years I have lived here. Their staff, volunteers and interns are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My wife has planted an herb garden every year and my mango, avocado, and mulberry trees are all from the ECHO nursery. Their signature event is "Farm Day" and is one of the best times to visit to tour, taste test, and attend educational seminars. Most of what I have learned about horticulture in Florida I credit to my visits to ECHO. Take the time to visit if you are in the area, you will be glad you did!

Took the tour here for the first time and first visit, guide was nice and informative and kept it entertaining. Even answered all our annoying newbie questions. Nursery is one of a kind 5++ star amazing. The only reason is a 4 star instead of 5 is the website and online information is real garbage and very difficult to navigate. In our age where we rely on the internet so often. Would love to see a online list of what is available in the nursery even at a basic level because they shift from "completely sold out for 6 months" to "we have too many of these they are on sale" and they only way a customer knows is by constantly calling the front desk to check inventory every two weeks or so. For instance today they have a fall sale, everything 10% off and up... No mention whatsoever anywhere but in person. The only reason i know is because i call consistently to ask for specific plants before i drive 3 hours there and back. Don't get me wrong it's worth the drive but they could save us both a lot of hassle with decent online presence. Actually the way i found Echo was via someone else's YouTube video who lives In logs Angeles, Google searches didn't clearly define that echo was a nursery at all and obviously the website wasn't clear. My first call to them before my first vist started literally by asking "what do you do here, what exactly are you". Anyway that's all, a little constructive criticism maybe but still a amazing place and company.

Great place to get honest info and learn ways to solve issues. Go early during summer and take water. Most staff are volunteers and really care about your comfort and questions.

What a great place to learn about things that we are missing in our daily life living in a city or in developing countries! Everyone should visit this eco area and you will definitely take something out of it! Thank you Pat and Doug for the informative tour.

Drove 2 hours to do the tour and they charged us (two people) $20 something dollars to walk around with a tour guide who didn’t know what jackfruit, Canistel, sapodilla, black sapote, Eugenia (genus of trees) was. Meaning we walked past dozens of these trees and the tour guide didn’t point out any of those trees. It wasn’t until I pointed them out did the tour guide explain they had no idea what each one was.... Tour guide didn’t know what a swale was either. They didn’t explain any of the different animal model /exhibit stations either; just said “here’s goats”/“here’s ducks”/“here’s bunnies” with no further explanation of the model... really disappointed in my visit. Would love to learn at echo but I would never pay $20 again to follow a tour guide who doesn’t even know what a jackfruit tree is! Come on!

Echo is a fantastic place. A nonprofit organization dedicated to growing food. Their charitable work takes them all over the world. Have been a dedicated customer since 1999. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. You can buy seeds and other products on their website as well as at their nursery and store.

Nice little nursery. Didn't have a chance to see the farm, it's only by guided tour a couple of times per day. They do amazing work and it's very educational with ideas you can apply to your own garden of food forest.

If I could give them more stars I would. Incredibly friendly and helpful. I had just purchased a home and wanted to plant some fruit trees but knew nothing about it. They helped me pick exactly what would be best for what I was looking for. All their plants are geared towards success is SW Florida so that's great. Charlie is so knowledgeable and willing to take the time to inform you of the process to set you up for success. Can't say enough good things. I've already been 3 times and will be planning to go back again to keep expanding the variety.

Echo is a great place to visit and a great charity. It is worth it to do each of the tours once if you can. They also have a great gift shop, which is not something I say often. Overall it is a very enjoyable experience. I really hope they change the world.

The Garden of Eden is echoed in this oasis of Shalom-peace and purpose. Echo exists to inspire and equip development workers like us here at Tree of Life Organics so the miracle trees like moringa (aka the “Tree of Life”) and chaya/spinach tree plus a host of green manure plants (plants that fix nitrogen for sustainable rich soils) can be cultivated in places where they can make mean the difference between life or starvation. The amazing gardens and incredibly innovative “appropriate technology“ workshops are the visible evidence of the real essence of Echo, which are God– Inspired ideas and technologies that really work. Echo is all about hands-on, effective, lasting education and developing heart/mind/hands so that development workers are truly equipped to innovate and get results with sustainable agriculture. The result? Lasting and growing solutions for all kinds of social problems related to hunger and poverty! Go to ECHO! You will leave forever changed, and ready to be an agent for change!!! - Van Hutchinson, Tree of Life Organics

If you’re in SW Florida and care about the environment and how it affects us globally, then you shall add this farm to your list of “things to do” while there. Educational beyond words and eye opening. Vacationing on the beach is one thing but going off the beaten path for a couple hours to briefly educate your mind and kind soul is another. You won’t be disappointed. You may want or intend to go but make it a need. You’ll thank yourself later and then you can then think deeper of our planet earth and fellow human beings in a totally different mindset while you enjoy your much needed vacation on the beach 🏖. ✌️🎋🎍

Went there with our church small group. What a beautiful place and a lot to learn about of how things are grown by people who do not have much. Great ideas also about him gardening. Also they have plenty of plants and fruit trees to buy. I picked up a fig tree myself. Worth the visit for sure

This was such a lovely experience. Very nice group of knowledgeable volunteers. We went for my sons 5th grade fieldtrip and they toured the farm and learned about the global hunger issues. Echo helps farmers everywhere by experimenting and creating better ways to farm in various struggling climates and then teaching those sustainable practices to farmers around the world so that they can apply and share with others for better quality and more fruitful crops.

I cannot say enough great things about Echo Farm. I had an outstanding experience on both the farm tour and the technology tour. I feel like most people just take the farm tour but the technology tour is fascinating and probably the tour I favored. This charity is such an inspiration for providing sustainable farming, clean water, and other habitat resources. I think the tours are a day and a few dollars well spent. The tour guides were both awesome, funny, and knowledgeable. The different regions of farming are well spaced and extremely diverse. My favorite part was the variety of water wells and purification techniques, along with the hut/home building done with recycled material, and the resourcefulness of the methane gas.

Wonderful use of agriculture and research to help to solve world hunger problem. Using what is learned here, missionaries are able to teach and expound upon their research to help local populations to grow and sustain their crops and support their families.

Now. This place is very relaxing and beautiful! They have a lot of plants and I got really excited because they were some that I had been looking for so I was happy to see them.. I took the tour and I thought we could eat some of the fruits and plants not sure if I had read that on the website or was told that would be the case. There were so many star fruits that were ripe and fell off the tree.. so a few of us picked from the trees, there were trees all over. Some people never saw the fruit on a tree so wasn’t sure what it was. The tour guide she had us sample a few leaves but when we ate the star fruit she said not to pick them because they are sold in the farmers market. Like lady do you see how much is on the ground? Why aren’t they being harvested everyday? These things will fall and rot really fast.. (but then again they are the experts). That just really annoyed me, but it’s a great place to visit. They had a few fruits that you could purchase but if they would sell most of their produce, I would definitely do my grocery shopping there. The people are really nice otherwise, just be clear about the rules. I bought quite a bit of plants. I am still searching for the shampoo ginger plant, (they had it on the farm but they don’t have it for sale), nutmeg tree and the Kama sutra mint/ Jamaican stick mint. You should check it out with your family. Just be careful we saw a huge black and red snake( didn’t know if it was poisonous), but they have ducks, chickens and pigs on the farm. I have videos so I am unable to post it here.

Alzheimer’s group had a tour today, WOW! Amazing place doing life changing work around the world. Teaching how to grow crops, how to purify water, how to get the most of the resources available. Having a farming background I was impressed with unique methods to get the best yield and nutrition from all plants and trees. We can learn a lot in our lives from a visit. Fascinating experience!

This was a wonderful experience. I am still processing it. We signed up for the tour not fully knowing what to expect. It is an amazing organization that makes an impact globally with inovative, micro level, farming techniques for different regions of the world. Dennis, our tour guide, had a thorough knowledge of the vast plants and techniques being used. He was very interesting. It is very heart warming and satisfying to see an organization like this put forth the effort it does to help solve a global fundamental problem.

We did the vegetation tour and it was very neat. Our guide was very informative and we learned a lot about the different nutritional value of all kinds of plants, fruits, and vegetables we had never heard of. Seems like a great organization.

Five of us drove down from St Pete. What an awesome day!! The tour was interresting and informative, a really cool educational experience. The fun part was shopping for interresting plants and trees. Which are all healthy and strong. I purchased a Jackfruit, black sapote, and passion plum vine. Another possitive is supporting a good cause. Thank you Echo for all you do. Deffinately will go back!!🙏

I took a tour here with my class at FGCU, it was very neat seeing and learning about the plants and animals. I love that ECHO is trying to help people around the world to get the food they need to survive. They offer knowledge on what to grow and how to grow. I think my favorite part was seeing some baby goats. They were so cute!

On two occasions these folks appeared to be self centered and preoccupied... Nice concept but not really up to speed with the needs of the 'globe', our planet... Volunteers clearly need some client/service skill sets... Still, right on type of remedial environmental effort--keep strong!
