👍 Christmas Island like Cocos Island is fairly primative as it up until recently was not on the tourist radar. Restaurants and supermarkets have limited stock as tjey rely on once a week deliveries by air. They are not Bali or Fiji they are outback Australia !! So except what they are or don't go !

👍👍 Really helpfull friendly staff, internet hotspot, beautiful ocean view, shame about the airborne dust spilling from the mine nextdoor, seemed to be an everday thing when i was there.. I hope the children's lungs are ok !

👍 Wonderful lonely place. Reachable with 4WD. Or better by foot 70 min from mainroad. You only meet natur’s lovers. But miserably you see an average sample of in Indonesia used plastic trash, thrown away without using brain. When can man recognize, that we only have one blue planet for living.

👍👍 The Grotto is a small rock pool both feed by the ocean and a fresh water source. It's a great place to cool off on a hot day. The climb into the water can be a bit tricky as the last step is very large and rocks can be a little sharp.
