We ate here yesterday. It did not disappoint. First, the staff were exceptional. Not only were they working hard, but they were so welcoming, helpful, and sweet. From the young lady who took our order and explained each step to Q who helped us purchase a bunch of gift cards for the training we are doing out here. Not only did she give us the 26 gift cards, but she took the time to put them in their sleeves and envelopes. Wow! Excellent service. Now for the food which we ate before we purchased the cards to make sure it was good. YUMMY! Their smoky BBQ sauce is amazing on their brisket, chicken, and turkey. Their baked potatoes are the largest I've ever seen. Their toppings were generous.

The BBQ was yummy. First dish was moist brisket, sausage, potato salad and fried okra. Second dish was fried shrimp baked potato all the way (wasnt a fan of fried shrimp--next time I'll try sausage). Y'all the peach cobbler was on point. No pics cause we ate it before the camera came out. ...a week later we are back. This go around #1 order was sausage and moist brisket w/ baked beans (super delicious) and loaded potato casserole. #2 order 1/2 lb sausage sandwich with fried green beans (new fav veggie). Dessert was blackberry cobbler.

Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area. Friendly environment and delicious food, can’t go wrong with here. Never had stuffed potato like this but it’s amazing!

Holy moly. Don’t let the guy behind the counter order for you! =) you’ll try it all! The star- without question- was the warm potato salad served with the meat dish. The ribs were top notch and I couldn’t have asked for better moist. The sausage tasted home made- I surely haven’t tasted that from the store. I’m not a huge fan of raw onions- but some chop would probably do the potato a lot of Justice. The fish is still too hot to eat. remoulade is solid. Could have eaten the warm mash a couple times. The bread pudding was just okay. The heat from the cinnamon and the whisky summed to more than a desert level fire. It needs ? Some ice cream? Whipped cream? Creamed whisky sauce?… or a unique texture with some sweet in the bread (?small apple bits of some sort?) to bring the fire down. I’d eat here again. I’d get a plate of ribs with the potato casserole. And then some potato casserole for desert.

When driving to find this establishment, you may dismiss it as a non-descriptive building. That's where Google reviews come in, and the reviews speak for itself. You are greeted right away by a greeter, place the order and one of the kitchen staff brings the food to you, Simple. Inside this restaurant brings a nostalgic feel that is personal of being in your own neighborhood BBQ joint. The staff love what they do and you can hear it with laughter and talking. All kinds of customers come here and for one thing- good food. I am a stickler for good BBQ and their brisket comes close to how I make my own brisket. They have 3 types of sauce and I went with their smoke sauce and was impressed with the taste. I never do sauce on brisket and both combinations were excellent. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a Ole fashion get together, even if it's with strangers. Dealing with traffic from either 190 or I-10 on the bridge would not be a problem to come back again.

Very inviting BBQ aroma as soon as you drive up, roll down the window or exit the vehicle. Smiling faces behind the counter greeted me upon entry. Surprisingly broad menu options displayed, for what appears to be a "hole in the wall" from the exterior of the restaurant. I ordered a Loaded Potato with smoked sausage, all the way, and a side of queso. I also ordered a drink. I included a tip with my order which came out to a couple bucks over $20. I was very much pleased with my meal and plan to return here for a new food experience very soon! Delicious!

I'm so glad this place is far from where I live! I would gain 100 pounds eating one of those potatoes every week, LOL. The baked potato with the fried shrimp on top is out of this world! The cashier told me to put the sweet BBQ sauce on top, which I thought sounded weird, but she was absolutely correct! It's just awesome! I ate off that potato for 2 days, LOL. The ribs were tender but a tad salty for me. Once I put the sweet sauce on them that cut the saltiness.

We were skeptical when we saw this establishment, but the reviews don’t lie. This surely seems to be the restaurant of choice for locals and I understand why. The food was great and the people are very welcoming. My wife and I usually like trying different restaurants when traveling, but we ate there every night while visiting Baton Rouge and Port Allen. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The loaded potato is almost indescribable, but it is as big and delicious as people say. The fried green beans were my favorite.

Food was ok, seasoned well but the fish was kinda rubbery and overcooked. The workers were VERY nice. The stuffed potato looked just like it did on the menu. All in all I give it 4 stars!

Food was absolutely delicious! Took a detour driving to TX from the French Quarter and we’re so glad we did. I had the loaded baked potato with smoked chicken and it honestly could’ve fed a family. It was an 8x4 inch behemoth topped to the brim with all the fixins. Butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, onion, real bacon bits, jalapeño slices, meat, and bbq sauce. My daughter ordered the loaded baked potato with shrimp and although it wasn’t AS big, it was PACKED. Couldn’t even finish it. But let me just say, I took a bite of the shrimp and OH MY GOD. Highlight of all the meals. I’d order a large basket next time. Tender, coated in a perfectly seasoned batter. High. Light. My son had a small pulled pork sandwich and it was more than enough for his little foodie heart. He also raved about the mac and cheese. Lastly, my husband had a sausage sandwich with coleslaw on the side. His only picky point was that the casing could’ve been snappier. And that’s really him just being picky because he said the flavor was heaven. Juicy and delicious. Definitely give this place a go if you’re driving back from New Orleans. It’s worth the detour!

I was crav'in some good BBQ, and my buddies too. We totally enjoyed our half rack of babybacks, the brisket sandwich, and my grand pulled pork poboy with the baked beans side...

Omg…. We stumbled upon this place after getting off on the wrong exit and Lucky us we found the life of the best food in Baton Rouge. I got off my diet for the loaded shrimp potato. They gave us a potato that was so huge I could only eat one half side of it. Overall, this place was on point with cleanliness, great quality food, and excellent customer service.

Workers were so kind and nice. Service was beyond speedy. The food was served hot and truly was delicious! I bought some seasonings to take home. I'm ready to go back already. Amazing stop and was actually affordable. Lots of locals which is always a good sign :) Etouffee with two sides was plenty for two people.

10/23/2021 My first time in Baton Rouge and don’t know what is there to eat around here. So I google for a place to eat and came across this local BBQ joint. I took on the last person review and give it a try. I am impressed with the fast service and quality food served here. Staff deliver your food to your table. The BBQ Ribs is perfectly cooked and the sauce is up to my expectations (👍 i love it)

Amazing food!!! Drove through and stopped for the night just over the bridge outside of downtown Baton Rouge in Port Allen. Asked the hotel for a local place to eat and was directed here. Best darn catfish etouffee, shrimp, wings, stuffed potato, and fried okra I'd ever eaten. Well done...coming back just for this place. Not 5 stars for atmosphere because I don't care for smoky places but they were just cooking up a storm back there. Got our order to go.

A good BBQ spot. It must be extremely popular as the cars were wrapped around the building. So we decided to dine in. I must say the staff was on it. They were organized, calm, and pushing the orders out...kudos to them...as a team they all vibed and flowed so effortless. We were there right before closing time, and they were so kind to leave things out and not rush us where as some establishment would have started breaking down and pushing people out. The food we had was pretty good... I just was not a fan of rice casorole, but everything else was great. We had shrimp, ribs, chicken, fries, Okra, and potato salad , mac and cheese, as well as fried green beans

The etoufee with shrimp and catfish was delish! The food came out quickly and PIPING HOT! Portions are so generous I ate twice and I was stuffed each time from the one plate pictured. I had a few bites of the brisket and the flavor was to die for! Definitely mix the sweet and smoky BBQ sauces they offer. The interior is very busy but they are extremely well staffed and tables are bussed often. It was clean and I’m definitely eating there again!

Stopped by for a quick bite while traveling and will definitely return next time we are in the area. Food was amazing and the portions were hefty. Meatloaf plate was my favorite and the brisket fell apart and melted in our mouths. Get there early if you can and don’t forget to try dessert also!

I'm a trucker from Iowa. Took the chance to get true Creole. I give them all the stars I can for delicious food and hospitality. I was a bit shocked at the price but worth the money in today's world. Walked out stuffed to the brim on a stuffed potato and lemonade. Great job y'all!!

We drove from Alabama to the area for a business transaction and this place caught my eye. This place is hands down the best food I've ever had. My husband agreed as well. But what puts the icing on the cake is my 14 year old son whom is very picky lovedddddd it. I got a loaded potato with sausage. This thing was HUGEEE! I couldn't even eat half of it. ♥️ I really enjoyed the home feeling atmosphere and the fact 3 employees stopped by our table making sure we were satisfied. You guys are awesome. Thank you!
