2022-09: I think all of the MM restaurants I have been to have been great, but I especially love this location. The upstairs area is great, and where I have always been sat. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. And they care about their customers and jobs, which shows in the amount of attention put into their customer's orders and overall care of customers from start to finish. I've never had a bad meal, experience, or incorrect order here.

Great food, the ingredients were fresh and staff was friendly. We ordered a large pizza, salad and a couple kids meals. The kids meals were generous portions, all the meals looks freshly made. The server was very attentive and she was awesome. I would recommend this restaurant, the only reason it’s not 5 stars is the entrée took a long time to come.

We had a group of 4 for dinner. We came just after the dinner rush as most people were leaving. Our waitress Caitlin was great. Food and time was not. The calzones were good, but the steak and cheese was really heavy on the bell peppers and was the prevailing flavor. We had the pretzels with beer cheese. It was good, but cheese sauce was really thin. The Merry Prankster pizza was awesome and the star of the night. I had a Guinness on tap and it was not quite right. May have been the glass or tap. I would not recommend the Italian hoagie to anyone. I had the full sandwich and it was quite small, mostly bread, little dressing, tasted mostly of arugula. The amount of meat in whole sandwich was what should be in a half sandwich. It is worth another visit, but I will not stray from the pizza.

Loved the vibrant colors and style of this pizza restaurant. Ordered a classic pepperoni and it was just right. The cheese pull was impressive and I loved the addition of the garlic crust. The staff were very friendly as well.

I love this mellow! Obviously the pizza is delicious, you can’t go wrong with any flavor but my personal favorite menu items are the pretzels with beer cheese and the spinach salad 😭 never disappoints. service here is usually really good in my experience! Also their alcohol options are expansive which is cool

Great time here, first time diner at this establishment. Avery was fantastic and knew everything about the menu, even the vegan options that I love. 2 story spot with the kitchen downstairs, but upstairs was the best part! Great views of the downtown and the University of South Carolina, even a corner view of the capital building. Props if you find the correct window that you can see both... game on.

Fantastic appetizers and pizza upstairs at the bar. Our lady bartender was quick and friendly. The wings were great- especially that sweet Thai chili sauce, it's not spicy at all and wonderful. The small Greek salads were not small and the perfect balance for wings and pizza. Definitely try the Cuban sandwich pizza. Only I would suggest the kitchen dry the meat out more as the bottom did start to get soggy pretty quickly. Maybe heating the meat separately and adding after the pizza has cooked would help. But on the first taste it was excellent. As was the Kosmic Cat pizza, don't remember the exact name on that one. The pineapple mocktail was refreshing too, especially after adding some tequila 😁

This is by far the best mellow I have been to! Our server, Jade was outstanding and very funny. The manager came to our table to ask how our meal was and we had never been happier. Fine establishment. The campfire peach with Vodka is my recommendation.

Hot!! AC in the upstairs bar was not keeping up. Love the food as always. The purple reign was awesome too.

I went here for dinner last night with my wife on a double date and it was amazing! We had an order of pretzel bites and I got a BBQ chicken pizza. Both were delicious! Service was also great, our waitress was Katrina.

Went here for dinner last night, and I have to say mellow mushroom never disappoints. The atmosphere is great, the people are warm and welcoming and the quality of ingredients is excellent. I am not a salad guy, take one look at me and you can tell I’m a meat, bread and cheese man. This will tell you how fresh and great the ingredients are, that I have to highlight the salads! Obviously the pizza and calzone was excellent as well. Amberley was so sweet, and handled our weird requests without hesitations. Try the Reece cookie, it’s worth it.

Let me tell you something this place right here wow what a fun time we had a party of 8 and on a Saturday night at 6pm were seated realy quick. The food was good I had a cob salad and it was delicious and I tried there famous pizza wow was it good not to hard not to soft it was a good amount of cheese. But what mad this place the greatest was are server kelly she was a quiet possibly the best server I have ever had let me tell you why we have a 15year old with down syndrome and typically he is just shrugged off and the server brings him a kids drink we have to put up with him treated a sertin way like a child and it's not fair but Kelly man she gets it she made direct eye contact with him and spoke to him and treated him as if he were any other 15 year old she even was patient when he had trouble geting out his order and did not come off as bothered one bit we fight for equality for are son on a weekly basis if not more often but this place needs more servers like Kelly she was quick with are drinks and even repeated are whole order back to make sure everything was correct. The staff was very polite and the rest rooms were very clean and easy to find we were on the second floor and Kelly is exactly what ever restaurant needs Friendly and out going and just the right amount of table touches made shour to have are drinks full but not stoping bye evey second so we had time for good conversation. We will definitely be back there priced fair for the portion size and the atmosphere nice bar up stairs also easy large parking lot next to the restaurant.

$23 for a large pepperoni pizza. An additional $3 for mushrooms and this is the amount I got. This pizza was not worth $26.

The crust at Mellow Mushroom can't be beat. Our party of seven had the Mighty Meaty pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, Buffalo Chicken pizza, and Kosmic Karma pizza. Great flavor. You're going to pay more than your typical chain pizza place but it's worth it.

Okay, so my co-worker wanted to try Mellow Mushroom for awhile now. She and her husband had visited another in Atlanta and she said the food was good there, this was my first visit. Imagine my disappointment and honestly my anger at how bad the food was there. So, get to the restaurant and get seated. We ordered everything at the same time appetizers ( artichoke and wings) and entree ( steak hoagie and calzone) since it was our lunch and we had to get back to the office. First it took forever for the artichoke dip to come out, when it did it was cold but the plate was steaming? Politely asked our server to place it in the microwave, she stated there was no microwave but she would put it in the oven. Waited another what seemed like forever, she brought it back out and guess what? It was actually colder than it was the first time and the plate, still had steam coming from it. Like How?!! She said she would put it back in the oven but we asked for a whole new artichoke to be made. So while all of this took place we finally got the wings we ordered, they were good, no complaints there, but the time-frame it took for our entrées to finally reach the table. Mind you a couple was seated awhile after we had already been there and managed to get their food long before we received ours.They brought out the calzone, she was pleased with it but she could only take a few bites since we had to return to work. I still do not have my hoagie that I ordered. It finally comes to the table and just wow! We had zero time left and I honestly wouldn't have eaten it anyway. I waited close to an hour for what was supposed to be a hot hoagie but was nothing more than a visibly cold sandwich. I asked for a to go box and proceeded to leave. I was livid with the whole experience .I wanted to get to another sandwich shop to grab something because I was still hungry. My co-worker hung back to pay the bill and you guessed it, wait for the 3rd spinach artichoke dip to come out. She brought my sandwich with her and the dip. On the bright side the dip was finally hot but they gave me buttered bread to go with it. They didn't even bother to toast it. The server was pleasant enough but as i stated before the sandwich was visibly cold, you could literally see that it just sat out the whole time. Why would you even serve that to a customer? Horrible experience for a first timer.

I've never had a restaurant make me question if I have COVID. The wings were ok but the flavor was very subtle. I actually questioned if I could actually taste it. The pizza was good but again the flavor was subtle. I kept taking sips of my drink to ensure I could taste it. The crust was one of the best I've ever had on a pizza. Atmosphere was "psychedelic" and the servers were very friendly and attentive.

Was there on a slow Sunday for early lunch. Would not allow my wife, 2 kids and I to dine inside because we ordered online 2 minutes prior to entering the store. Tables were 75% open. We would have gladly paid wait staff a tip but was not even an option. Management was able to handle issue at a later time.

Rhianna was great server! Pizza was the bomb! Cheese bread was delicious! We cannot wait to return! (Also easiest parking in Columbia.)

If I could rate this place a -0 I would. The staff including the manager Cody (pic not available) has horrible customer service. I was told it was a hazard by the guy in the black and white hat to sit our group at separate tables in this establishment. Which doesn’t make any sense. We traveled to Columbia,sc for the st Patrick Day parade and wanted the kids to eat before traveling back to Atlanta. I have never experienced what happened today. We patiently waited and still didn’t get served, even after waiting and seated upstairs it was a problem. The young lady Shenita who acted as if there was a problem of our group sitting at certain tables upstairs was very UNPROFESSIONAL after the long wait we should have been okay to sit at tables. They also mentioned they were under staffed but seated other large parties (white people) with no problem. Our group was DISCRIMINATED and I will be emailing the corporate office about this location. New management and new team members are needed at this location seemed to me everyone I spoke with wants to run the place but does it in an Unprofessional way.

Went on a Saturday for lunch after visiting Soda City Market. Parking was easy to find and was available. Super friendly staff that greeted us immediately when we walked in. We had no wait time for a table. Very clean dining room and restrooms. JJ was our server and was fantastic! Very attentive, helpful, and engaging. He even drew my daughter a unicorn picture which she thought was the best thing ever. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. We will be back for sure!

Delicious Pizza with gluten free options. I didn’t care for the taste of the gluten free crust as it favors gf church communion crackers BUT, our server was awesome and so accommodating and pleasant; the regular crust pizza was absolutely DELICIOUS. Overall great experience! SN: Bring a light sweater because upstairs is chilly.

If you LOVE Pizza then Definitely go Here. The food is Good the drinks are beyond delicious. Service is spectacular. Our Waiter was Super cool and Knowledgeable. He was able to give food and drink suggestions and they were ALL on Point!!! I Love this Place and You will too.

Update: the past 2 times after this review, key elements missing from my orders; check your order prior to digging in. Servers are good, so no issues there, but will say something next time it happens. Hadn't been in a long time - not sure why, as everything was great. Spinach salad was plentiful & delicious - we split a large. The Veg Out pizza was flavorful; crust was light & tasty. Good cocktail, too. Friendly and attentive service, too. Should return more often!

Sat upstairs and ordered some appetizers, was disappointed to see that gluten free dough was only a small but it was good. should really make larger gluten free dough. Our server was Annabelle

Server Riahna was excellent. The food was delicious and made exactly how we wanted. The atmosphere is family friendly. One of the other waiters even came over and drew our girls a picture while we waited.

The food was delicious, just as my daughter wanted for her birthday. Our server was not the best. They did not check on us, and though the restaurant was not busy, we were given to go cups and plastic silverware. At one point, the server refilled my drink and, instead of putting it on the table, handed it to me, causing the cup to collapse and spill on the pizza because there was no ice in the paper cup. The kitchen was playing music that competed with the restaurant music and made it difficult to have conversations.

We got a medium Holy Shitake and a medium build your own with black olives, steak and fresh mozzarella. Adding the steak was $5 and there was barely any steak on the pizza. The taste was amazing but for a total of $54, I'm so disappointed that they barely gave the steak add on. Would recommend the Holy Shitake but idk if the build your own with meat would be worth it at all cause you'll be basically having a cheese pizza.

We had the best time - took our granddaughter Brooklyn. She loved it! Upstairs dining - sticky tables, but the rest was great! Food is worth the trip.
