I honestly don't know how this hotel is rated so highly. As a conference center, it is fine. However, the rooms are awful. The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are small, and my bathroom didn't have a counter. Construction started at 8am and loud cars woke me up at 4am. Bar staff were nice, but inattentive. I often had to ask for things multiple times before they remembered and it was never busy. I am considering not attending the conference here again because of the terrible accommodations, especially considering that they hiked the room prices for the conference. Finally, the location is not convenient to anything but the campus. It is not easily accessible by public transit and isn't really walkable to anything. Overall, this was one of my worst Marriott experiences.

Room was very small for the price and location, I haven't seen rooms that small except for downtown city hotels, they are nicely appointed and the people are very nice, but given the choice I would probably find somewhere else to stay in the area.

The customer service is great and parking is easy. The manager Timothy is kind and helpful. Nice amenities and the restaurant/bar is good. Admittedly, the rooms are small. The overall facility is the draw, not the individual rooms so much. The art & sculpture galleries on the lower level is a nice bonus(though that technically is the UMCG art collection). There have a permanent and temporary artist exhibits. Overall, a comfortable place to stay and visit.

Interesting place! Great location, great staff, lot's of free covered parking. The room was cozy and had everything you would need. Very clean and comfortable! The conference rooms were nice! Didn't get a chance to have dinner in the restaurant however I did have a slice of their delicious Smith Island Cake and a great cup of coffee. Would definitely stay there again.

I checked in around 8pm and no one was at the desk. Usually, they come out quickly to assist but I waited about 3 minutes or so, all the while I heard people talking in the back. However, when the person arrived she was kind, efficient and knowledgeable! The rooms are incredible. They are roomy and the beds are comfy. The bathroom is modern and has that extra shower head to get all your parts clean. They even offer the little extras that make difference like a fridge and safe in the room, a vanity area, great make-up lighting in the bathroom and q-tips, cotton balls and an emergency sewing kit. The restaurant was open. Food was delicious. Downside is the sorbet wasn't at the same level as the other desserts. It tasted like the discount sorbet at the grocery store. But the salmon was delightful. The drinks from the bar were great too! I will definitely be back!

I recently stayed at and attended a conference at this hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous and well maintained. The rooms were clean, although for a 5 day stay it would've been nice if there was a microwave available as well as a larger mini fridge as the ones provided were super small. The staff on the hotel side and the conference side were very pleasant and on top of all our needs. I have to give Hunter a huge thank you because during the conference he attended our every need during the nightly dinners and was amazing. He went above and beyond to accommodate last minute substitutions due to allergies and dietary restrictions! Kudos Hunter!

The hotel and the rooms were very nice. The room was quite a bit smaller than I was expecting but since I was traveling solo it wasn't a big deal for me. Could have used more space to hang the clothes though.

Claletha During my stay from 3/6-3/12 the costumer service I received was remarkable! The agents went above and beyond to assist during my trying times. The location and parking was great, the room(s) were cozy and comfortable, my children definitely enjoyed their week long stay... With my experience at the Marriott Conference Center, I would not trade them in for the world! Please note: The hotel location is assessable to several shopping malls: PG Plaza and Greenbelt Mall.

Very nice hotel! The rooms were small yet very modern, cozy and clean. We were by the elevator and surprisingly we could not even tell. The design, artwork, and layout of the hotel is beautiful. The staff were attentive and kind. They have a nice restaurant down stairs and the services that were great. Parking was free. We used Uber to go to all the main attractions. The distance is only about 10 miles but about 30-35 minutes because of traffic. Over all great location and quality of services and rooms.

OMG. We were in town for a concert and we tried to check in one hour after check-in time and the room wasn’t ready. Everyone we heard that tried after us had rooms that weren’t ready either. We left because we needed the room right away. I just saw my credit card charged today. Scums.

Super disappointed! Super pricey with no pool or free breakfast. Came in for the weekend for a sporting event held on Saturday and Sunday. Needed to wash uniforms to find 1 washer and 1 dryer each in the other part of the hotel on two different floors. There were multiple families waiting to do the same thing. The shower heads are absolutely terrible it kept falling out of the holder and moving around to the point where water was all over the floor in the bathroom. The room was just ok kind of small but good enough for our short stay. Would have loved a microwave in the room instead of in the lobby. The young man at the registration desk Sean was super friendly and accommodating, probably the best part of our stay. We chose this location due to the location of our sporting event. If I had to come back here I would not stay here again.

Conveniently located on the university of Maryland campus and a short metro ride from Washington DC. This is a quite property with comfortable accomodations. You are a short distance from the metro about 25 minutes of walking. Lots of place to eat and the College Park aviation museum is a good visit.

I rarely leave reviews for anything. However, after staying at this Marriott I needed to. EVERY single staff member from front desk, cleaning, restaurant/bar was absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. Room was nice and super clean every day. Food at the restaurant on site was good. I stayed 4 nights and I do not have 1 complaint for them.

I travel every other week, as I work production for meetings and events. I live in a different hotel every other week, so I typically don't write reviews for every hotel I visit. However, I felt inclined to do so for this past trip at this property. Every staff member I encountered with was great, HOWEVER.. the shining star at this hotel is Maria at the Concierge level. Myself and my co-workers decided to go there every night to "pre-game" before our dinner during the week, and Maria was just absolutely amazing. She was the most friendliest and sweetest person. She made sure we were taken care of, and she was just the sweetest person to talk to. We actually were sad to check out, because we all were going to miss her. I truly hope this hotel knows the gem of a worker that they have with her. She's absolutely amazing. Maria, thank you so much for taking care of us, and for the conversations this past week. We will miss you! :)

I'll start by saying that the staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. The room was spacious but the bathroom had only a sliding, clouded door and there was a gap on each side. Since the bathroom was right off the bedroom, that made for a very unpleasant sleeping experience when someone was in the bathroom. But the major problem was in the restaurant. We went in for a late meal at about 10 30. We had a lovely, friendly waitress, but then a group of people entered and the clearly had been drinking. A guy sat at the table next to us and was threatening and aggressive. He wanted to know what room we were in. It made us feel scared and had to worry whether he could find us. It was extremely off-putting. No staff member did a thing about it. We paid hurriedly and left. The waitress followed us out and said that the guy was just drunk. Being drunk doesn't give you the right to harass people and we did not find that an acceptable justification for the inaction of the staff. Since this kind of behavior seems to be tolerated by staff, we will never again stay where we don't feel safe.

Friendly, courteous, and helpful staff. Great amenities with clean rooms. The room I stayed in was a little on the smaller side but met all my needs. Would happily stay here again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The room was not only elegantly furnished but also thoughtfully equipped with modern conveniences that ensured a comfortable stay. The staff's professionalism and attention to guest satisfaction were apparent from the moment I arrived. The hotel's commitment to sustainability was inspiring, and it's evident that they're dedicated to making a positive impact. The on-site restaurant offered a diverse menu that catered to various palates, and the quality of the dishes was outstanding. The hotel's location was perfect, providing easy access to both business and leisure activities. Overall, my experience was exceptional, and I look forward to returning in the future.

I recently had the privilege of staying at the Marriott Hotel, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exemplary. From the moment I checked in, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. The room was impeccably clean, well-appointed, and the attention to detail was evident. Moreover, the amenities provided were top-notch, catering to both business and leisure travelers alike. It's clear to me that Marriott upholds a gold standard in hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to colleagues, students, and any traveler seeking a first-class experience.

The rooms in this hotel are pretty outdated. Location is great and there are plenty of parking. The Starbucks in the hotel dining room is more of an amateur. It might be a good idea to get your coffee elsewhere if you are the type of people who need caffeine to jumpstart the day.

No, it isn’t worth the price and climate control in rooms isn’t great. Pet friendly, however, not pet friendly 🙃 Come on Marriott, the only way this hotel survives is from the convention center and UMGC graduations and events. The rooms are just so-so. They are super big though so that’s a plus! Super hot showers. Plenty of space. For pet owners: be prepared to pay the $150 for your entire stay! The room I got was carpeted, that’s a no go for pets. I went to the front desk to ask where a pet area was and the response was “we don’t really have one, you can walk around the building a few times” no reference to a good place or a dog park nearby, nothing…. The room stayed pretty humidish and was super warm at night even with the old school AC being set to the room being occupied and 55 degrees. The AC just constantly ran trying to cool down. Plus notes I did get a room directly across from the elevator on the 3rd floor (384) and it was easily accessible to head out with my pup. I didn’t hear people in the hallway either. They are getting three stars from me for the amenities lacking and the price $350+ a night is not worth it here, go somewhere else, my recommendation. It was convenient for me for my UMGC Masters graduation 2023 so I cannot complain there.

Sons College graduation. Lovely conference rooms. Great food. On campus. Have to deal with traffic to get there of course. Did notice scooters for students to hop on and ride, cool. Totally enjoyed my time visiting.

Very well kept hotel. Rooms are on the smaller side but make good use of space. Very accommodating, clean, friendly staff, perfect for what I needed (conference at the hotel). Restaurant food eh and overpriced but not horrible. Bartender Patrice was lovely. Overall my 2nd time here after several years…consistently good. Only “issue” is ur kinda stuck unless u wanna venture way out.

A lot to take in in my stay for a conference. The restaurant was really good though was mostly a bar - which wasn't a bad thing. Staff on that generally good but one bartender who wasn't responsive to requests. The location is amazing- right on campus with short drive (or long walk) to Trader Joe's and other small restaurants. Think bubble tea and Ramen. Conference center amazing with art galleries and a massive layout for several conferences at once with multiple levels for breakouts. The room was all in all good but location location location. Mine happened to be right above the workout room (which was decent though devoid of workout mats) and so your wake up call was the not so gentle club-like thumping of treadmill users. Video attached... The only good thing about this situation was that i had direct access to it with my personal stairwell to it. Others commented that the beeps of trucks was an issue. Staff at front desk very nice. So check your location...

Comfortable, clean, silent rooms. Nice gym 24h open. What needs improvement: 1. Heterogeneous staff. Some were super nice and helpful others stuck to the minimum necessary :-/ 2. Minimal to no concerns with the environment (I did not see any measure to reduce carbon footprint or waste) 3. Lack of vegan options on their menu. Healthy options are scarce too.

A beautiful hotel and conference centre. The art that was visible everywhere in the conference centre was gorgeous and inspiring. The staff were all very helpful and courteous. Even the grounds were peaceful and lush and a great place to gether your thoughts and be inspired.

How is it every person who works here is focused on the customer experience? Literally every person. From the front desk, to security, to the restaurant staff… it was a wonderful stay. It was a welcoming vibe from the moment you stepped in the door. Highly recommend!

I went to a women's conference at the Marriot College Park. The place is beautiful. Since I didn't stay overnight, I don't have any review regarding the rooms but I heard from other ladies that the rooms were nice. I enjoyed the food served throughout the 3 days. Salmon, salad, crabcakes sandwiches, and many more. The various deserts presented were also great. In all I liked their menu, the kitchen staffs, and the entire food presentation. I gave a 3 for service because the other workers, the guest attendants I think that's what they are called, those who walk the floors each time I passed by them, none was friendly or made a gesture to greet you. Instead of looking towards you with an inviting smile, they walk pass you. At least that was my observation.

The hotel itself is actually really nice but it's on the middle of a college campus which is a pain in the neck to get in and out of. More importantly the rooms are like micro tiny and I booked a king room and and 100% positive I was not in a king bed it was definitely a queen and friends of mine who were also staying at the hotel booked Queen rooms and were convinced that their beds were smaller as well I'm not really sure what's going on but they really need to get a handle around that because it's not fair to sell somebody one thing and then give them another

The woman who did our room was wonderful and took that extra step when we asked who to talk to for extra chairs. The hotel rooms were clean and not beat up. Most of the hotel rooms were very small. The suites are the size of a normal room. We went to a weekend conference there and the banquet food was very good, as well as the servers.

Pros: 1) hotel is clean 2) hotel has a free parking lot which is definitely convenient Cons: 1) Did not get upgrade for Marriott member 2) booked via a cherry blossom promotion link, but don’t understand why it didn’t apply to my booking, it supposed to get free breakfast plus subway cards, but I got nothing Overall a fine experience. But will not come again for stay.

Attended a wedding and my shoes were destroyed in the freight elevator. I was somewhat taken aback that this 1st class hotel did not have handicap facilities. Very surprised. Then elevator broke down and had to be taken all around the property in order to reenter tje ballroom. The food and service was excellent. Gave 3 stars because of shoes destruction.

Honestly. It's just decent. The rooms are bad, thr layout I am not a fan of. Thr shower is bad as well. Giant drain that runs the length of the shower. Youre constantly stepping on it. Your window literally faces another wing of the building and other rooms windows, so make sure tk draw your blinds. The restaurant is nice though

  • 1/5 Courtney C. 2 years ago on Google
Horrible. Bonvoy member and literally had a closet for a room. Literally. And at not a cheap rate. No AC and room was so stuffy. Could not lower it myself as it had been locked. Had to call in service who lowered the temp but vent ended up just blowing air and not cool air. Have horrible allergies so suffered all night without this. Putting in formal complaint.

From the moment of check-in, my stay was great! Larry Rollins at the front desk was so helpful from checking me in to my employee forms that I needed. He was very warm and welcoming!! Thank you for the upgrade, we ENJOYED the suite greatly!! :) The hotel was very clean and every associate we encountered was very nice. We will definitely be back for another staycation!
