Came to dinner last night , our main meals weren't bad but the cheese garlic bread was amazing. Unfortunately wont be coming back anytime soon as the staff looked unhappy and didn't seem to want to be there making it an unpleasant environment to be dining in. The male manager seemed to be the cause of it after seeing his interactions with staff members. In my experience working in hospitality , management always sets the standard of a great work environment which leads to good customer experiences. We hope to come back as my grandparents love it here and it has been their local for years but hoping our next visit will be better.

I didn't stay overnight, walkin, for breakfast. Very inviting wait staff welcomed me sat me in a nice location looking out through large framed opening glass doors. Fresh clean restaurant, light music playing The menu is very reasonable, just a few standard selections to choose from with extra add on. Hot drinks or juice and fresh fruit available. I had bacon and eggs with sourdough. I added mushrooms extra for a resalable cost other options available. All round very nice comfortable friendly atmosphere to enjoy the morning coffee or tea. Thanks everyone who made it happen.

Review is for the hotel and restaurant The restaurant food is over priced and bland. The conference food was beautiful not sure why there is such a difference between the two. The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are so comfy. Would definitely stay here again but wouldn't return to the restaurant

Stayed for 9 nights. Room was always clean, good facilities. Room cleanliness declined each day however and the standard dropped with each night I stayed. I also noticed a room service charge that was applied incorrectly and it was just lucky I picked it up on the receipt. No explanation given. Not a bad place to stay but could definitely sharpen its services. 6/10

Caught up with family for pre Xmas dinner. The food was good and what you’d expect for the price however the fantastic service was what made my experience a 5/5. We were served by a waiter called Will and he greeted us with a warm genuine smile everytime he served us. He was very helpful and patient when we asked questions about the menu which is not a quality you often see at a restaurant these days. For me, it’s about the people and service that makes a difference, definitely will be back.

We were actually at the restaurant (didn't even know it was there) which is so nicely set out. Friendly service, shout out the the front man your awesome attitude and humour was a pleasure, comfy chairs and they also have outside seating and a little play ground area. Only there to try the desserts menu and they were delicious!! All deserts priced at $10 with ice cream or cream or both if you like. Have heard good things about the food so booked a table for 40 for this week 😂 see you soon.

I couldn’t talk more highly about how great our experience was in the restaurant tonight. At the door we were greeted by a smiley happy Aidan who promptly found us a seat even though it was packed and we had no booking. Within 5 minutes of sitting down we had a lovely young woman come to the table with water and asked if we would want to purchase other drinks. Another lady a few minutes after while passing our table asked if we would like any drinks (it was nice to feel like we were looked after not just a customer at a table). Furthermore we were greeted by your wonderful Jordan, now I’m not one to write reviews but this young gentleman is a bloody asset to your company and one of the major reasons we will be back. My sons autistic and family outings for tea are extremely difficult for us and it’s something that brings so much anxiety because him having a flip out in a restaurant is a lot. I mentioned to Jordan that my son is very particular about his food all touching, without finishing my sentence, Jordan said “that’s perfectly fine, how can we make this easier for him” I was left speechless. We have never had a waiter show such understanding, initiative and compassion. Jordan requested for my sons meal to be brought out all on seperate plates and this was of no extra issue for him to do this. I have left with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes about how lovely this whole experience was. This will now be our weekly family outing place to go. The food was absolutely exceptional and your staff even better. Whatever your management team are doing, keep doing it. Honestly from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making us have such a beautiful night out as a family. WELL DONE TEAM!

Food was great. The state of the toilets were absolutely disgusting. Wet floors, toilet paper everywhere and some didn’t even flush. Really could use some bleach. AJ was great at the front desk in the restaurant. Stayed the night in a room and that was good.

Room was spacious but poorly appointed. Fridge was low quality and regardless of the thermostat setting, froze everything. The coffee machine that was advertised as being in this level of room was not there. The drain in the shower doesn't drain properly, there is no way to have a shower without water streaming out onto the bathroom floor, even if you place a mat in front of the shower, it gets soaked and the water still ends up flooding the bathroom. Quite a lot of dust on all flat surfaces. Tea bags and coffee sachets were replenished only every 2nd day. For the price you pay for a room, I would expect a lot better, at least free use of the laundry facilities, but no. Even that is is an extra charge. I chose here due to the close proximity to my work location (business trip). I think next time I will stay closer to the city and just deal with Brisbane traffic. Hugely disappointing.

A group of 12 of us went for dinner and the service was ordinary. A smile goes a long way to making customers feel welcome. The staff weren't very friendly or welcoming. When we left, we left a small bag that had colouring in books for us to keep the kids occupied, but no one bothered to ring us to let us know it was there. The 3 stars that I give are all for Adrian, who was a shining light in an otherwise poor experience. He is extremely good at what he does, he smiled, he made us feel very welcome, sorry that his 5 star service was bought done by the rest of the staff. Thank you Adrian 🌟 the rest of the staff could learn from you

Amazing Value. Front desk staff were very polite. Amazing views to Brisbane city skyline. Room was nice, (peaceful) no outside noise. Restaurant/bar amenties were adequate (plus) retail shopping centre 5 minutes walk.

Staff made a bad day, worse. Following a funeral, the family members all came together to celebrate a lost ones life. Everything was perfect! Food was great, atmosphere perfect, waiters were wonderful! Right until we ordered drinks on our way out. My family and I aren't really drinkers but it was a bad day so we weren't aware you couldn't take glass products out of the building - so I asked for the bottles to not be opened so we could take them in the car (we weren't the ones driving, don't worry!). She opened the bottles in front of us, informed us of the law (all well and good, the law is the law!) looked me dead in the eye and said, "and don't tell me what to do." She then dropped the bottle caps on the bar and walked away from us without another word. I'm sorry I didn't know the law on bottled drinks? I'm sorry I requested something about my drink that may have bothered you? Nothing will come of this, but if somehow she gets to read this, I desperately want her to know that on an already terrible day, she somehow managed to make herself the worst of it.

Rooms were nice however staff were not particularly welcoming on check in which soured experience. Probably would not stay again plus the $200 hold is a joke. The room was only $190 which was prepaid. Your duty Manager needs some customer service skills, quite rude.

Great show tonight with Hey Felicia!!! Check it out. Food however, not too great. Dry chicken and not quite an alternative menu with 4 chicken 2 steak. Oh well!! Enjoy the show but not the food

So disappointed with our experience at the Calamvale hotel restaurant. My meal was $28 and I got half a piece of corn the smallest portion of potato gratin I've ever seen a tablespoon of quinoa and pumpkin puree. I mean surely for $28 I could at least have a whole piece of corn. Then they just scattered the plate with what they called salsa to make the plate look full. My husband's salad was absolutely soaked in a sickly sweet sauce. The meal was so unsatisfactory that I had to make some toast when we got home because I was still hungry. They did take $10 of my meal but seriously even $18 was way to much for half a piece of corn. Won't be back

Hotel didn’t provide luggage storage service, when we checked out the hotel refused to help. Our flight was at night time, we had no where to leave our luggage and had to call local friend to help. I’ve never stayed any hotel or even guest house that lack of such basic service. The staff wasn’t being too friendly either, I will not recommend any of my friends or myself to ever stay here again.

Ordered lamb shank. Received it within 5 minutes. One side boiling hot, the other warm. Potatoe and vegetables cold. I understand microwaves are used in restaurants but at least do it properly. I'd also recommend not sending an order like that in 5 minutes to make it seem like you actually cooked it. Lamb was also tough.

We went in for dinner and came out with a bad taste in our mouth. Never to return. Ever. I took my family to the restaurant for dinner. I straight away noticed the high price menu. I'm fine with paying for high prices, but the food must be good quality and fresh. Not frozen. We ordered beef crocketts to start but sent them back just as fast as they were overcooked and a frozen product I could have got from Coles. I'm not paying a high price for that. No apologies for that from staff. Mains came out, and my fish and mashed potatoes were the only fresh items served up. The other meals were frozen food from the supermarket. When we asked the staff, "Is this fresh." The response was, " This is frozen fresh. " Sorry, Calemvale Hotel, you were one a great place to eat at a good price. Not any more.

A little to find the entrance to the hotel but otherwise quite good. Reception staff can do with some additional training on customer service. Impressive size car park!

Nice pub, the cheap roast dinner at lunch time is good . The bar turns into a night club on a Friday and the bistro serves beautifully prepared dinners .

Went to the Calamvale hotel last night and the service was horrible, I ordered the chicken burger and is wasn’t edible Heads up if you want chips make sure you ask and pay an extra $3 as they don’t come with the already $25 burger, the lady at the front didn’t try upsell and when mentioned I said no don’t worry about it, they ended up arriving with chips and asked me to pay before I leave, I would never come again it was horrible food and horrible service, the chicken was burnt, do better !!!

Great location and the food is good but if you want any form of service just FORGET IT. Even the most simple of requests like asking to have the entrees to come out with the mains falls of deaf ears despite being confirmed with both the front of house staff AND the kitchen. Do yourself a favour and head down the r9ad 5mins to the Sunnybank Hotel for 5 star food and service 7 days a week

We had lunch today and shared a seafood basket, the meal was well presented and delicious. The staff are very friendly and polite. Thank you Alister for greeting us, AJ for seating us and Lily for taking our order. Please do something about the chairs at table 26, they are very uncomfortable and have lost all the cushioning on the seat.

Great room and staff, only issue was the poor quantity of meals at the restaurant and delivered to my room. Wilted salads, plain boiled vege, dry cold chicken , hotcakes still cold from the fridge etc. Very small portions. Overpriced.

Great location. Shopping centre 5min walk away. Great restaurant with delicious food. Service was great. Room was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. Pullout lounge bed was not that comfortable. Great for an overnight stay. Don't expect much sleep before midnight on a Saturday night though as the music from the bar is really loud.

Right from the start every single staff member bent over backwards to make my daughter’s surprise birthday a hit. A massive special mentions goes out to the restaurant team but in particular mention to Amy and Michael. Amy, if you get a chance to read this thank you! Not only did you OVER and ABOVE by helping style our event, do did so with so much enthusiasm that professionalism that it left me speechless. You then even came up and wished my daughter the most gorgeous and heartfelt birthday congratulations. You’re a true star and I wish nothing but success for you! Michael you are a true leader! Right from the moment I walked in, nothing was too much trouble. You rearranged the seating, you answered my questions you lead your team with such diligence and integrity. Thank you for being such a stellar star, for making our event so memorable and being just an absolute legend. Once again from the bottom of my heart, the whole restaurant team was brilliant and if I could 10 stars I would.

We had our Christmas lunch at Calamvale Hotel and what a beautiful experience. The decorations were great, so many staff attending to our every need and the food was very special. Thanks to management and staff for making our Christmas extra special

Terrible. Prices are outrageous. Post mix soft drinks are $7. Parmi $30 and the food was average. Staff are useless and unfriendly and we sat in our dirty plates and glasses for 90 mins before someone came and cleared it (only because we were leaving). I can understand why it was dead on a lunchtime Sunday now. Will never go back and don’t recommend it to anyone.

I've been there a few times and the staff is always approachable, professional and helpful. The lunch special (ham/beef roast, chicken schnitzel, cottage pie) for $10.95 and kids meal for $10 (inc drink and ice cream) are amazing value. The standard menu also has a wide variety with large portions.

Dined in the Garden Terrace for lunch today. My Dad and I both heartily enjoyed the delicious and generously sized buffet roast. This roast lunch special is exceptional value and done to a very high standard...compliments to The Chefs! The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the duty manager who went out of his way to make our experience a very pleasant one. Thank you, we look forward to returning again soon!

Recently visited (Jan 2022), the new refurbished to the restaurant outdoor area is fantastic, great vibe and decor make it comfortable to hang around longer. Ordered steaks for 5 hungry Male adults, all were cooked to perfection, never had a bad meal here.

Very nice brunch with the family at this great venue. Good atmosphere with a Xmas vibe. Excellent service with plenty of room. Lots of fresh air and good airflow with a huge open air dining area as well as an air-conditioned seating option thanks to the air curtain in the dining area. Great overall experience.

Always a great place to have a fantastic meal. Great location fantastic service and an excellent meal, cooked the way you order it.👌 Also the only place we have had mushroom sauce and it actually had pieces of mushrooms. Two thumbs up.

The new bar update has an awesome, relaxing, holiday style vibe. Ordered lunch, there was an issue with the printer so our food wasn't being made. Upon speaking with the staff, a refund was given by the manager after she promptly brought out our meals herself and apologized to us, made us feel very welcome and looked after. Also the food was delicious 👌

I am REALLY disappointed with how the quality of this restaurant was gone downhill so dramatically in the last several years. 10 years ago, I was raving about this place. The food was basically gourmet, it was so delicious. They had the most amazing crumbed calamari and I had to ask the waiter the secret: they marinated it in sweet chilli sauce before crumbing and frying it. Now, they don’t offer calamari at all on their menu, and there is no seafood on the table menu apart from two fish options. The menu is tiny now. It’s literally an A4 sized piece of paper. That large and succulent chicken kiev I ordered several years ago…. also gone from the menu. The Cumberland sausages I did order today on top of little more than a smear of mashed (almost watery) potatoes, I did not enjoy them at all. On the glass wall near the kitchen we initially did not see that it was written “seafood tower, $110” due to the glare from the sun and the fact it’s not really visible at all unless you are seated facing the kitchen wall. Why would that not be written on the menu? I am so disappointed and sad, this place once had a really delicious and gourmet menu and they just let it all go, what a shame.

Did not stay at the hotel we attended the Steak and Seaffod restaurant. The food was very poor, garlic prawns: sauce tasted like cream, no garlic or very little. Salmon: dry and served with boiled potatoes and salad no sauce on any of it. Steak asked for medium/rare, was over cooked. Ordered dessert and when we asked 15 minutes later about it, it was found that the order had not been placed, we did not re-order.

This hotel didn't respect the hotel guests. They more focused on their private party services. It was very noisy and the loud music was until 12:30am. Of course I couldn't have a rest and can't sleep either. I am so disappointed they couldn't do anything for the hotel guests and they only said just need to wait until finished party. Do you think is it right service for the hotel guests.

Sitting at Calamvale Hotel now with my daughters. 13 year old gets halfway through a raw hamburger before I notice it's raw. Staff alerted & visibly concerned. A new burger is made. Staff offer a round of drinks for the table, which I decline. Next best offer was $10 off the bill. If she falls ill, $10 off the bill is a bit of a joke.

We went there for our club Christmas party on the top floor conference room. The view was great. The size of the venue was great. The staff were super friendly. The food we had was fantastic and filling. Didn't comment on rooms as we didn't stay. The only negative was access to the actual site having to navigate through shopping centre roundabouts etc. I would have preferred direct access from main street.

I attended my Christmas party. It was a nice experience. I loved how they have vegetarian and vegan options. But little disappointed with the service. I ordered vegetarian burger and I was served non vegetarian burger , with two more vegetarian burger, saying I ordered it. I rechecked with the staff and she was little rude, saying you ordered it, I had to tell her, I ordered two vegetarian burgers and then she took the burger and said if you ask for vegan I don't have vegan burger. Even one of my colleagues complained about the food but no one responded 😢 I enjoy the karaoke bar, it was fun.

Came in yesterday with my partner an friend for lunch, an the food was great but when it came to me getting my drinks that I ordered, I wasn't too impressed, for Banana Cream Pie (didn't come like how its displayed on menu) but drink was nice, I also had a Cotton Candy Margarita, again didn't come like its displayed on the menu, but was nice. I am not sure if I want to visit again.

A modern, stylish hotel with plenty of easy parking, great location & awesome staff. (yes, I know it's overused but these guys really ARE awesome.) Several bars, dining & relaxing spaces which are all super comfy. We've been several times & will be back & recommend to all.

At the Calamvale on a Tuesday night with staff. Ordered the lamb shank, it was good. Other meals were okay. Someone said the chips tasted a bit funny, maybe the oil needed changing. For the area this is a pretty good place and very popular.

The Food is overpriced and generic. The Pizza has little to no toppings, the pumpkin salad came one day with Fetta and the next day with none? And one day its in a bowl next on a plate? The slider burgers were tasteless and just, meh. The staff aren't really interested either. I just wouldn't go out of my way to go here. A big Meh from me. Big fancy place with no effort at all.

We always enjoy a wonderful meal when we go to the Calamvale Hotel. Adrian who greets us when we enter the restaurant is so happy and friendly every time we visit. The staff are amazing and it's lovely to have a human touch when we order. The food is always lovely and great value.
