First time to an Ethiopian restaurant in years. This place wasn’t in the list. We went to a different Ethiopian restaurant at first but they were closing and recommended us to come to Ethiopian Village. Very glad with the recommendation. Though the decor was tacky for my liking but that probably gave a more authentic feel. Looks like a family owned place . Great food, not knowing what to order, we went for the combo which has little bit of everything. Good value for money.

We found a deal on eatclub, and having never tried Ethiopian food before we thought it was worth a shot. The place is very colourful and the staff so friendly and relaxed. They helped us choose, and we decided to go with the meat and vege combo and another dish. When the food came out we were shocked at the size of the platter (huge) so generous! And not to mention delicious, I had eaten middle eastern food before where you eat with your hands/fingers and use the savoury crepe to pick it up, my partner did struggle at first but got the idea. The meat was so tender and tasty with a heap of different spices hitting all the right tastebuds. This place is good for small groups but it's also well set out for large groups. We are so glad we came and would love to go back! The price at normal price is so worth it, you won't walk out hungry! Thank you 🌻

If you love big plates of food, eating food with your hands and finding a place with a difference to dine and hang out. Ethiopian-village in Moorooka is definitely the place to be. The food is amazing and we didn't know what to order the first time because it was so new to Michelle and I. We ordered the normal portion combination platter. They do not serve pork here and have yummy vegetarian dishes too. On our 2nd visit we ordered a 6 person platter with a side of Zilzil Tibs (beef tenderloin). The food weight was definitely over 3kg. Did we finish all the food? Stay tuned here and on my instagram page: Punk_gardener to find out more. A must try place for the adventurous foodie.

We went there on a Friday night for dinner, it was quiet with only one person at the tables and no staff in sight, we waited at the counter for a minute before the lady at the table eating and on their phone came over to serve us. We sat down with menu's (that we had to ask for), picked what we wanted off the menu, then re-approached the counter where the employee was again just sitting on her phone and eating. She approached, looked at my menu from over my shoulder then just walked out of the restaurant. I stood there alone for 2-3 minutes before retreating to my seat, after a couple more minutes she returned, and every time we asked for something be it alcoholic or non-alc. drinks, or food items off the menu she would say it's unavailable. This went for a few times before asking if we could have a minute to decide, but she lingered and looked annoyed, so we asked her to pick something for us. She chose a mixed 6 dish platter, but she couldn't tell us what was on it. The food we were solved involved a cold drumstick, and some very odd tasting foods, some bitter, some bland, none hot and some like it was out of a fridge. None tasted good, it's the first time I've ever had to leave some of a meal behind because we couldn't stomach it. This is my second go at Ethiopian food, last time I enjoyed it, but my first time at this restaurant, it will be my last. The atmosphere is low, but was exceedingly smoky so anyone with breathing issues should steer clear. So should anyone who values food and service. We had high expectations going off of previous reviews but I honestly can't chalk all of this up to an outlying experience.

Amazing dishes!! We ordered a meat combo, traditional tea and coffee. They’re all tasted very delicious! ! Especially the chicken leg and the lamb, they’re soooo good. A little bit spicy, but perfectly match with the sour pancakes. I never tried Ethiopian food before, but I fell in love with it after I tried it this time! ! I can’t wait to visit next time to try more other dishes!

Amazing food. The injera taste is fenomenal and my favourite dish was the Misir Wet which is red lentils in a spicy thick sauce. My partner had some beef and he enjoyed it too. We will be back definitely, loved this place

The food was really tasty. You got heaps for what you paid for. It appears to be a family business and the young lady who served was refreshingly honest and delightful.

Very delicious food and nice service. They burn frankincense resin which good smell and can calm my spirit down. The Ethiopian coffee is also amazing! I will definitely back!

We had our first visit and had the mixed combo. It was really good. I am not sure how to describe the bread for picking up the food, it is a soft texture and a sour taste but works perfectly with the curries. The food itself was so very delicious. I liked the spiced tea too! A very simple basic restaurant and friendly staff.

Came here on a Friday night and ordered the appetiser and meat combo with a variety of different dishes. The food was amazing and the service was lovely. We will definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu! Everything has massive portion sizes and is very well-priced, would certainly recommend taking a visit!

I visited Ethiopian Village for my first time recently with a good friend and his family and I had the best experience with the tasty Injera traditional meal, a great and calm ambiance crowned with the care of a very kind and hospitable team. It was the perfect homely experience.

Authentic Ethiopian. We had to wait a fair while for our lunch but the food was that good it was worth the wait. I thought about deducting a star for the wait time but the food was so good they deserve 5 stars.

A small restaurant which is popular with the locals and recommend the share platters. Eat with your fingers which may put some people off. The spiced tea and coffee with accompanying incense to add to the atmosphere is worth trying. A different but enjoyable experience.

We had a lovely ethnic food adventure travelling to Africa here😋 Loved the atmosphere! Great, friendly service that recommended us the best from the menu for our first taste of Ethiopian cuisine. VERY impressed at what came out - we had the meat and vegetable combination platter for 2, great value and plentiful portions, we were both stuffed with LOTS left to take over still! Come hungry and you'll leave happy 😁 while I came with a discount off the bill we both felt it was more than worth paying full price for 👍👍👏👏

We absolutely loved our dinner here. It's just a humble little restaurant tucked away inside a little shopping laneway but the food was out of this world. We ordered the meat platter which came with injira and various meat stews on top (that we had selected). The platter was huge, such a generous serving and everything on it tasted delicious. The woman serving us was so helpful and friendly. The restaurant had some light insense wafting through it which added to the lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!! 10/10.

Give it a goal! Today was our first time in an Ethiopean Restaurant and we just loved it. It is a simple and local restaurant which has an amazing food! I can't recommend it enough. We came because of a deal on Eat Club app, but I chose to not use it because the price is very affordable. The combo plate is huge!

Went with family and friends to celebrate a birthday party. I’m fairly unfamiliar with Ethiopian food however was very pleased with everything overall. My sister had recommended this restaurant saying it’s one of the best Ethiopian joints in town. The bathroom that the establishment uses is outside the restaurant and used by the rest of the shopping complex and it was a little bit sketchy but that is no downfall to the restaurant itself. They were able to accommodate vegetarian dishes as well as a delightful traditional coffee that my girlfriend and I to this day reminisce about. Great job and keep up the good work.

Amazing experience and food! I highly recommend the Combo vegetarian and meat, together with a popular Ethiopian drink called Tej which is a honey-brewed wine. Would def come back. :)

Decent portion of serving however the food is absolutely test less. Usually Ethiopian food has a good flavour taste unfortunately this is restaurant doesn’t represent good quality authentic food. Especially meat should be cooked little longer. As soon as I ate .I didn’t had a good tummy feeling and hours later . I got food poisoning unfortunately .
