McGavin View Park is an excellent recreational park by Lake Samsonvale (a.k.a. North Pine Dam). The area is home to koalas and a wide variety of birds. It has parking for about fifty cars. It has free to use gas BBQs, picnic tables with benches, water fountains. The toilets are clean. There is handicapped access throughout the park. There is a large children's playground. The area is fenced, so even if you have a beer or two you won't be falling into the lake. The views are spectacular and include the lake, Clear Mountain, and the D'Aguilar ranges. The site also contains a commemorative placard from 1988 that describes the military activities between May 1943 and January 1944 by the 1st Cavalry Division of the United States Army.

Beautiful and accommodating spot for anyone to enjoy. The park over looks Lake Samonvale. Lovely shaded covered areas, picnic facilities and amenities. Clean and well maintained park with a playground that caters for most ages and safety matting.

Great place to bring the kids to wear out. Especially week days as we were the only ones here. Facilities are clean and playgrounds great for my 3 and 1 year old.

One of our Moreton Bay Council somewhat hidden gems πŸ’Ž. Beautiful panoramic views of the majority of the dam and mountains ⛰️ in the distance make for spectacular Sunsets πŸŒ‡. Has all the facilities for a great day out with the family BBQ's , heaps of seating and gazebos all quite spread out so you can have your own space , a playground some interesting historical facts and space to even have a frizbee throw , a kick of the footy or a hit of cricket 🏏 ironically being right beside the dam having a swim is the only downfall as there is nowhere to take a dip

A beautiful and quiet place for picnic and BBQ. The Lake Samsonvale is so calm that makes you feel peaceful. It would be perfect if the dam is open for public and there are more facilities for children.

A nice quiet park with plenty of room. It's a little old but as a result was quiet.

Lovely spot on the water beside North Pine Dam. Some nice picnic facilities and amenities. A bit remote, I doubt I'll pass that way again, but if you're out that way a beaut spot.
