As you would gather from the name, the art here is very Africa centric, with African American themed pieces sprinkled in. It has a much better selection than the similarly themed shop in Bowie. The host at Serengeti is also very knowledgeable. He always has historical information to pass along.

Wonderful Nigerian motifs!! Serengti's owner was very nice and helpful. I didn't know much about African art and what it meant, but she was patient and helped me look for some Bday gifts for my wife.

This is a unique art gallery full of beautiful African & African diaspora paintings, metal-casting & wood works, tapestries, and jewelry for sale. There are pieces of art to adorn homes, public spaces, offices and your body too. The owner/proprietor has immense knowledge of all pieces & afrocentric history. The art is wholesome, positive, nurturing & edifying (not traumatic). Works can be ordered as well, and the beautiful space can be rented for events too.

The atmosphere was so cozy. The manager was personable, knowledgeable, and hilarious. It was such a pleasurable experience. My family and I will definitely return. It was our first visit after living in the surrounding area for quite a while, we googled “things to do” and found a hidden treasure in plain site.

Serengeti Gallery is a most amazing gem in our area and in DC. The art is exquisite. There is a completely welcoming spirit from the owners for all who walk through the door. They are community minded always serving. One of my great joys is going to this gallery and connecting with these wonderful souls!!

Very customer focused. All of my art has been framed here, and all of it looks beautiful and has stood the test of time. Good prices too

I am thoroughly pleased and amazed after workmanship the Mastery for quality of the framing I received for my artwork. I went into Serengeti Art Gallery with beautiful pictures from Kevin Williams that I wanted it framed because they deserve a beautiful frame. I thought a frame was just a frame at the time, just make it happen. However the lesson that I received from Serengeti Art Gallery owner was that a frame and so much more and lessons on art through this process was priceless. I am grateful and appreciative beyond words. I recommend Serengeti art gallery to be your framing source if you need something framed I recommend you to go to this black owned framing art gallery to have the work done well. I give Sergenti my highest recommendation, highest. I am absolutely pleased, that the art I love are in frames I love. Due to my indecisiveness this project took longer than possibly most of their clients, however the art gallery owner and his family were patient, professional, respectful, and kind. The Serengeti family are a group of amazing people more than I love this gallery , I now have love the owner, his daughter, his beautiful wife. The entire family exude what black family should be made of. Simply watching them interact with one another is inspiring. If I need something else framed I choose Serengeti. 2 Thumbs up, 5 Stars (*****). mic drop.

Go on in! You don't have to be an artist, art collector, nor know anything about art -- only someone who knows what pleases your eyes and excites your senses. Wisson West and the staff will welcome you warmly and let you browse freely. They'll gladly share their wealth of knowledge about the art, the artists, and the regions of Africa that inspires the work. Serengeti also is a great place for a small, private celebration! You can't beat this setting.

I have worked with Wisson West for over 15 years. Not only is he very knowledgeable about art of all types, but is an expert in African-inspired paintings and sculpture that will fit well with your home. He has taken the time to visit my home to find the right pieces that will fit with the tenor of the home - and has the keen ability to make a perfect match. Not only that, but he has taken care to make his shop a true gallery; it is never lacking in a broad variety of paintings, portraits and sculpture. I am a lover of abstracts- and he always has plenty to select from. I use no other Gallery other than Serengeti Gallery - and so should you. Serengeti Gallery is the best in Prince Georges County and the region for African-inspired art of all types.

One day years ago, I wandered in for the beautiful art -at Capital Boulevard. During frequent visits to the Boulevard, Serengeti visits was always a favorite stop. One day, I heard they were moving. Before dismay could set in, I learned they were moving even closer to my neighborhood -the Central Avenue site. They give great service of preserving personal artwork and I've enjoyed being a student in a few of the classes offered at 'Serengeti' where the learning is fun as well as informative. I love all the meet and greets offered, too. With every visit I've learned what a treasure Serengeti Gallery is to the community. My children and I enjoy our visits and I'll be over soon with my grandchildren! I recommend the gallery to others and have been pleasantly surprised to see friends and acquaintances exhibit the fruits of their talent. Thank you, Serengeti Gallery! What a jewel!
