This is an elegant Manor house with extensive gardens to walk or relax in. It is located in Mesquitela, a charming village not far from the Serra da Estrela mountains. There are a number of quaint villages nearby, and also tracks through woodland, so you can go on long walks while staying here. The host was kind enough to lend me a bicycle one day to explore the surrounding area - you see a lot more this way than by driving. Last but not least are the two friendly little dogs that welcome you, Noddy and Tucha.
