Rachel is my first engagement with a therapist. My boyfriend and I both run businesses and it puts one hell of a strain on our relationship. Both of us were skeptical about therapy at first but decided that our relationship was important enough to try it out. Firstly, Rachel has a warm, calming presence that makes you feel like you can tell her anything. She isn’t the “how does that make you feel?” airy-fairy type which I really appreciate — she really works with you in more of a consultative, coaching style of approach. My boyfriend and I have both had coaches of all kinds (business coaches and sports) and this was super refreshing. He was also concerned that because she was a woman, she would be biased and she definitely wasn’t. She listened to us both equally and was able to balance both sides. She arms you with actual tools to use and makes sure she follows up with more resources and homework after sessions which alone is worth the price. Her tools are practical, useful and simple to implement — they just take practice. I just wish we had started much earlier. She did not ask me for this review nor was I compensated or incentivized in any way. We just had a session today and after feeling defeated when I walked in, I now feel empowered so I am grateful.
