My
review
is
to
give
heads
up
to
those,
who
want
to
change
their
name.
Be
prepared
and
politely
insist.
I
wanted
to
change
my
name
and
put
it
on
application
in
advance.
But….
I
was
not
prepared
that
the
officer
would
prefer
to
avoid
additional
paper
work.
When
the
officer
asked
me
if
I
was
sure
that
I
want
to
change
my
name.
I
was
-
I
wanted
short
version
of
my
long,
which
I
use
everywhere
to
become
legal.
He
said
“well,
in
this
case,
ceremony
will
not
happen
this
year”
when
I
asked
when
he
said
dates
are
not
even
shown
in
the
system,
definitely
not
this
year
(it
was
September)
lines
are
long,
I
also
asked
if
I
am
able
to
change
later
-
he
said
“Yes”,
even
easier
without
coming
here.
I
decided
not
to
take
risk
and
thanked
him
for
his
kind
advice
and
left
my
long
name.
I
believed
he
cared
about
my
interests.
When
I
shared
my
story
at
Hispanic
Unity,
where
I
prepared
for
interview
and
attended
citizenship
course,
that’s
where
I
was
explained
and
realized
what
happened.
I
wish
I
knew
that
officers
can
overuse
authority
in
order
not
to
do
paperwork.
If
you
are
determined
to
change
your
name
-
insist
and
change.
Name
change
later
is
not
easier
(-
piles
of
docs
to
file,
court
and
up
to
several
months
+
$400.)
All
other
services
are
good,
building
and
halls
are
clean,
parking
is
close
and
enough
spaces.
Waiting
time
was
just
15
min
from
the
time
of
appointment.
People
working
there
polite,
friendly
and
nice,
which
made
me
trust
and
believe
without
doubt
and
now
regret
and
didn’t
fully
enjoy
the
moment
I
was
envisioning
and
dreaming
of
for
many
years.
