😠 At least if other restaurants are going to charge $20 for oxtail they will give you a reasonable portion. Asked for extra gravy in my online order too. This is a slap in the face. Won’t be coming back here People often mention oxtail, rice, chicken, cabbage, ordered, jerk, price, good, time, order,

This used to be my favorite place to eat Jamaican food but after today I will not go back to this place to spend my money. Sometimes my husband and I spend $70+ and over for 3 meals. I recommend a lot of people to this place but I will tell them take their money elsewhere. We don’t eat their cabbage because it’s not properly done. We always complain about the food being too little bit but instead of making it more they making it less. It cost too much money for this food to not get a proper meal. We will take our money somewhere else. Mad cow grill is just up the street from here and the food taste as good sometimes even better but it’s the wait time because they always pack. Now I would rather wait than throw away my money and don’t get a proper meal.

My husband and I found this place on google and our experience was wonderful. My husband got the jerk chicken and it had and uniquely smoky flavor. Chicken was very tender and juicy. I got the oxtails and goat curry since I could not decide one over the other. But I personally the oxtails because of the perfect tenderness of the meat. Customer service is great. The owner is super kind and friendly. Highly recommended. We will be back for sure!!!

Horrible, I wanted chicken and shrimp pasta, the didn't have it so I settled for just shrimp pasta. It was pre made and put in the microwave to warm it up. Then I open it up only 4 shrimp. I also ordered the brown stew chicken , befor they made the bowl im looking , no chicken in it except a couple pieces the rest bones . And they had no beef patties 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬☠️☠️☠️Then i go in the back to this wine tasting in the back , now the guy was cooking jerk chicken on the grill , I say OK let me get 2 jerk chicken white meat with rice & peas. With the person that was hosting the event!!!!!!! Never got the food and I was with a vendor,so I left. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I try to support small businesses and mom&pop restaurants but never again order food from here .

Food was delicious- tried the curry chicken, comes with rice, plantains, veggies. The salt fish is so good. Everything was great. I really loved the ginger pineapple juice. I Encourage you to call ahead, as the wait was very long, and some menu items were not available.

First of all, the woman behind the counter serving the food wasn't the most welcoming. She charged me about 20.00 for a goat meal with white rice, I asked her not to add plantain and cabbage. Also she gave me a little helping of goat with mostly bones and the food tastes just okay. The fish pattie wasn't that good either. Dissatisfied.

Great to find in Laurel, MD an above average, with authentic flavor, Jamaican restaurant. This was my first time and will not be my last. We had a large oxtail and large jerk chicken meal. Together they were enough to feed 3-4 people. The oxtails we're fall off the bone tender with just enough bite. Jerk was flavorful and not dry. Service was friendly and informative. Definitely will be a repeat customer. Pictured are the large oxtails with callaloo and plantains. The second is the leftover bones from lunch the next day. 😁

It is a small place but that is immaterial. Food is great. Portions are great too. Ordered ox-tail and it was fantastic. Place is clean and staff are very pleasant.

This is a wonderful little hidden gem. I got the liver platter that came with plentiful rice with red beans, stir fried cabbage and peppers, and plantains. It was flavorful, spicy and delicious. Customer service was excellent and I plan to go back to try more things on the menu.

I ordered two oxtail dinners yesterday. I have only been to this place one other time. The 1st time the oxtail was good and I felt like I should give them another try. This time, I ordered 1 beef Patty, 2 coco bread and two oxtail dinners. The oxtail dinners tasted good but my husband and I received very few oxtail and rice in the container. It was not worth $60. I also did not receive my receipt. I won’t try this place again.

I came in today on a Saturday, they were not busy. I ordered the oxtail with half rice and half cabbage, which I normally do at Jamaican places since they usually give very little cabbage, and a beef patty. This was only my second time coming here as the first time they were sold out of the oxtail. The oxtail was delicious but I didn’t particularly like the cabbage and the rice had too many beans for my preference. The reason I give 2 stars is because not only do they count the oxtail pieces they give you but they aren't whole pieces. I had five oxtail but most were cut in half. I also ordered some fried chicken for my kids and it was $3 per piece and they were small thighs and legs! I paid a total of $38 for my order which is not worth it. I will not be returning and will continue going elsewhere like the Jamaican restaurant at the end of Main St on Route 1.

My husband's friend recommended this place for Jamaican food and we were really excited to try it, but it was a bit disappointing when we went. The atmosphere was nice, it had a constant flow of customers, etc. But my brown stew chicken was extremely dry. Even with the sauce it was tough to swallow. But the sauce was flavored nicely and it went well with my rice. My husband enjoyed his curry goat dish and we both really liked their beef patty. They gave us a good amount of rice and vegetables with it which is what I mostly filled up on since some of the meat was inedible. I was disappointed for the price we paid and the quality of food that we got. Between the 2 entrées, a beef patty, 2 sodas, and tip we spent around $50. Since my husband liked his dish, I am willing to give this place another chance in the future. Hopefully this was just an off day and I can raise the number of stars in an updated review.

The vegan Callaloo patty + ginger pineapple juice was DIVINE. I needed an energy boost while out shopping and this did it for me. I’m so happy they had vegan options I’ll definitely be coming back.

I wanted try this place and one I finally did. I ordered the oxtails, rice and peas w/cabbage. I don’t know what is in that cabbage, but it was amazing. Nice and crunchy, flavorful.

Guys, you will not be disappointed with this restaurant. From their cleanliness, amazing staff and exceptional food. We ordered their oxtail, jerk chicken and curry children, which were seasoned to perfection. Their homemade juices ( ginger pineapple, peanut punch) were also amazing. We can't wait to return. From your New Jersey patrons.

This is all based on my DoorDash order…I order 2 entrees and put in special instructions to have calaloo instead of cabbage for both meals…they still came With cabbage….I ordered a drink…I did not receive it…and I was told if something wasn’t listed to add it to special instructions which I did, and I didn’t receive those! Never order from here through doordash just go to the store to avoid being disappointed 🙄

While visiting from New York, I was craving Caribbean food- a full meal with rice and peas and plantain. When I got to CaribeExpress, I was delighted. The restaurant is clean, the food was looking delicious and fresh, but then I saw the menu. I was shocked that a small order started at $13. Wow! Back at home, the small meals start at $8/9. So that was ridiculous to me. I would say that the man behind the counter was kind and recommended I try the stew chicken (rice and peas, cabbage, and plantain), because I couldn't decide. He said it was really good. In my opinion, it was good, but not something I would order again . Also the portion of the food for the price is slightly off. I got a few scoops of rice and two plantain. I would recommend lowering the price and keeping the size.

Too expensive and not enough food for the price you pay. It wasn’t worth the money. They give a plate full of rice and a little meat. $42 we paid for 5 oxtail and three little piece of jerk chicken.

This is the best Caribbean food I've had since I left Philadelphia. I'm not exaggerating. I've moved around a few times since coming to MD almost 10 years ago and every spot I've tried have been hyped up but really didn't deliver (for me). I had the oxtail... Delicious! And they were not skimpy where many spots are mostly bones (in my experience). The cabbage and rice was delicious as well. I will be a frequent visitor!

I had the chance to visit Caribeexpress today and was highly disappointed! The mac and cheese were definitely boxed mac and cheese! The flavor of the cabbage was very different and not in a good way! The shrimp patty flavor was nice and spicy, but I counted two shrimp! Everyone was friendly that worked there, but the food was awful!

5stars for soup taste. I am a Yaad man soup luva. That’s why. Message for 1st timer Jamaicans… $15 soup which was not full all the way is just the start of many other concerns… For price and authentic Jerk Taste of their jerk meals- 1 STAR. Definitely a “Jamerican Spot” everything else mild. If you like bold spice and heat in the meal then this ain’t the spot. (Maybe it’s the chef fault idk)(Getty’s soup in Bowie is also tasty)

The girl at the counter was great. The food quality was poor. Chicken wasn’t cooked fully. Hell it wasn’t really cooked at all.

My first time going. I got the jerk chicken. (2 platters)Didn't really like the sauce. Kind of on the sweet side. I like my jerk chicken to be "Jerking"The portions for the chicken and cabbage could be more for the price your paying. Also I never had someone tell me I couldn't get jerk sauce on my food if it wasn't jerk chicken. Glad I didn't get it. The sauce is not it! I had much better food and nicer portions! I'll stick to what I know! You will not get full. Skimpy with the servings!

Whenever I go to the post office, the absolute best spicy smell is coming from the place next door. Being vegetarian, I ordered the rice and peas as a side. The rice was lovely, big tender pearls of rice, and the peas were perfectly cooked. I also ordered the chana/chickpea appetizer. They are cooked in a delicious savory sauce full of onion and garlic. At work, I put both in a bowl together and enjoyed every bite as my cheeks glowed from the heat of the spices. As a side, I ordered a couple of slices of bread fruit. They were delightfully crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. I see a lot of reviews complaining about price and it is true that it is not inexpensive, but you're getting real home cooked food. You can taste the difference.

This was my first time going to this place. The lady behind the counter was nice. I wanted oxtail and was hesitant because of my past experience with other restaurants. I must say the oxtail was delicious ! Well seasoned and tender, and the lady was generous with the portions. I gave 3 stars for the price. They sell oxtails at market price. I'm wondering which market they use to decide on the price. Anyway, it's too pricey for me but a pleasant treat. I ordered 2 oxtail dinners and wanted to add curry goat in one of the plates. Ir cost $60. I won't be ordering that again, but I will go back to try other dishes.

Like be for real. My first experience was the same, but i just chalked it up as a bad day & gave them another opportunity. I don’t feel like there is much to say. Just look at the photo & for the price it’s UNETHICAL.
