Beautiful turquoise water, shells to hunt, very short walk from car to beach. 14th street is the best but limited parking on the weekends. Toll is $6 to go over the bridge but the views of the water is totally worth it. No restrooms so be prepared to go for a swim. Great place for small kids to enjoy the ocean during the summer months because it is very calm. Warning, do not swim on the end of the island near the museum and old pier. The current is scary and many sharks run through there. Pretty cool to watch fishermen catch sharks from shore when the Tarpon are running. The small town is quaint and walkable but many shops close late spring through the beginning of fall. Overall this beach is a hidden gem but can become crowded on holidays.

Gorgeous area, nice place to take a boat ride. We had the pleasure of doing just that. Our host gave us a nice little early evening tour of some of the bay. People really seem to enjoy living here. Who could blame them...

Sunrise in Charlotte Harbor, Punta Gorda Florida heading out eighty miles into the Gulf of Mexico fishing for Red Snapper. This is a totally natural photograph. All rights reserved.

At all started here. Been sailing all winter, Gaspiralla Marin was the haulout spot for our survey. Sailing this area is gorgeous full of dolphins and birds. I might make a home base somewhere nearby when Dragon's Lair returns.

Rented a boat. Tried fishing. Didn't catch anything. Maybe they just weren't liking out bait but got to see some jumping fish.. we went out on the tube on the water. Got great sunset photos. And had a great time. Stopped at fisherman's village for lunch. Able to dock right at harpoon Harry's. Saw a wrecked boat.

Great area to boat and fish. There are many options to catch snook, redfish, trout, and more. This are has the Intercoastal waterway passing through it and therefore has alot of traffic but if you familiarize yourself with charts you don't have to stay within the markers.

We took the sunset tour with Kings Fleet and had a great time! We will definitely do this tour again. Capt . Sam, Brenda & Brad were all so nice and made the trip even more fun!

Week days are not as busy as weekends. Charlotte Harbor is a large body of water and from there you have access to the Gulf of Mexico. We often see dolphins and many bird species. Sometimes there are manatees and sea turtles. It's gorgeous, relaxing, and fun! Pay close attention to marine forcasts, epecially wind speed as it can get very choppy.
