What a pleasant surprise this was! We weren't sure what we were going to find on that winding road along Bear Creek with all its roadside overlooks, but my goodness were we in for a treat! Pictures just don't do it justice. I wish we'd had time to make it all the way around. We missed the most beautiful part (the falls!) If you're in the area, spend a day checking out all of the overlooks and the falls. It's truly worth it. We're planning to visit again during the fall when all the leaves are bursting with color. (Our visit was in mid-December.) I haven't been able to get this area out of my mind since we returned. Stunningly beautiful and definitely worth the visit!

This is a beautiful place with several cool things to see and do. There are several scenic overlooks that stretch roughly 8 miles by car. There is a awesome swimming hole called the hippie hole that gets over 20 feet deep in places. There are several areas to jump off rocks into the water. The hiking trails at little river are overall short and pretty easy for a regular hiker. Be aware that the hike down to the swimming hole has 133 stone steps. It can be difficult for some people. There is also a swimming area that is much easier to access closer to the main bridge in the parking lot. The visitors center is beautiful to see. They show a video about little river canyon and there is a gift shop. I've hiked at many places this is one of the best overall.

Gorgeous park! The hikes are short and rocky but perfect. The weather this time of year is incredible and we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

This is a very beautiful waterfall with different swimming holes to choose from. The most popular swimming hole is called “hippie hole” and is about a mile down from the big waterfall. Lots of adrenaline junkies go here to jump off of the cliffs. Lots of fun to be had here. Just be extremely careful if you go. Also avoid bringing alcohol, the game warden will write you a hefty citation if he catches you drinking around here. Be sure to take lots of pictures and help keep this area clean!!

Little river, canyon, national preserve was well worth the visit! They got a great viewing area to see the waterfalls with good safety railings. You can take a trail to the right of this to go swim in the river above the falls, but be careful because there’s no lifeguard on duty and to go over the falls would most likely be fatal. The trail to the left is about a mile and a half round trip and it goes to the lower section of the canyon below the falls. It’s quite a hike and ends with about 136 stone steps down to the bottom of the river canyon.

A totally underrated NPS unit. The falls are gorgeous and the canyon is synonymous with places like new river gorge. The rim drive with various overlooks will take your breath away.

Nice falls, such a pity visitor leave their trash by the river! Does it take too much to carry their used water bottles or MacDonalds cups back up to the car? Nice drive and views from the lookouts.

Stunning! The views during the entire hike were incredible. Rope assisted hike/scrambling and the climbing is world class.

Pleasant surprise! Nice gem in AL. Little River Trail very nice. It’s rocky and a nice river at the end to jump in. The scenic rim route also very nice. A couple of volunteer rangers on site too.

Beautiful place. Fall colors were spectacular. Hippie Hole trail was beautiful and not too long for kids.

The views are breathtaking! I highly recommend following your map to the locations you want to visit. You can pick up one at the welcome center. Don't rush just enjoy the beauty and peace.

Great area to cool off on a hot day just up the trail at Hippie Hole! Nothing too crazy...jumps get up to maybe 25 ft or so? Make sure to jump out. Fun for any and all who love water.

11 years ago this place was very clean and really nice. We just went back May 14, 2023 and it was awful. Such a disappointment. It definitely isn't worth $15!! If you plan on visiting, you may want to bring a lawnmower and weedeater!!

What a gorgeous and underrated National Park unit. It's not a "National Park", but the canyon is just as spectacular. We were able to find a shady spot in one of the overlooks and had our picnic.

Absolutely beautiful national preserve. The road around the canyon is full of lovely overlooks and if you have time kayaking above the falls is a nice float down a river. Kayaking below the falls is an aggressive experience not for the faint of heart. The swimming holes are nice but can get crowded.

If I could live in the Canyon, I would build there! We wanted to stay ALL DAY. I have recommended this trip to several of my friends already. It's an outdoor lovers dream.

We had a great time here. It took us about 30 mins to walk to the swimming spot, but it was awesome and worth it. Allot of people were swimming when we got there. This place is always busy but everyone was respectful and we had a good time.

Decent park, not a lot of hiking trails. Have been twice, this time the falls were dried up, but still nice. Little River Canyon Parkway had pretty overlooks and plenty of pull offs for trailheads. Unfortunately, most of the pull offs and picnic areas were overgrown and not maintained much at all.
