My husband and I toured the Annie Riggs Museum. She was the wife of my 8th cousin (four times removed), Barney Riggs. Barney was both a gunslinger and a deputy, working both sides of the law, not uncommon in the Wild West. The museum was wonderful and had the sweetest little doggy watching over it (she stole my heart). Very nice collection. A few of the rooms are very dusty/musty and some might struggle to breathe in those rooms. The collections are laid out nicely and the kitchen makes me wish I had the space to collect such antiques. My great-grandmother still used some of those types of items when I was little, so sweetly nostalgic. We love Ft. Stockton and the people we meet here. ❤️

Really beautiful hotel in manicured setting. Blooming desert willows and dusty footprints by the porch. We sat a while to enjoy the breeze. Inside, $5 fee, nice women working. Lots of antique items. Kitchen stuff was fascinating. Spend an hour or two, learn about Ft. Stockton in Pioneer times.

This Museum offers a variety of history from this little humble town. The history of this hotel in itself is so awesome, they offer a wide variety of historical items one can see and read about, from old time apparel, dishes and furniture to rooms and summer off the patio's where they invite performing artists to entertain the community. Check it out, a great learning experience for the new generation's x,y,z and then some!

Historic site well maintained. Many rooms to see that contain tools, clothing, and photographs from the period time that Annie Riggs lived. Very informative 10 minute video in room to right as you come in

This was a pretty cool little museum. It was formerly a hotel among many other things. The owner and proprietor who ran it for many years I have an Anne Riggs was quite a person. As you go from room to room you'll learn a whole lot about the history of the area, how the trains came where Oil was discovered who started the town and it's important in Texas history. All that from one little museum - that's really a mouthful. Nice place, and the t-shirts are pretty nice as well! I definitely recommend it as long as you're in Fort Stockton you may as well go here in addition to wherever else you're going.

The summer concerts were outstanding. The food was excellent as well as the drinks. My grandsons love to dance so it was child friendly. Just great. I am looking forward to the next event.

This museum is definitely worthwhile if you are in the area. We had gone through the old Fort Stockton Cavalry Cemetery before the Annie Riggs museum, which makes it easier to understand some of the history that is inconjunction with the lives that were part of the Annie Riggs family.

Very interesting museum with lots of stories about the colorful characters who helped establish Fort Stockton. Nicely arranged and very well preserved building and contents. Very impressed- especially considering it was arranged and maintained by a small town historical society. Well done and well worth the $3 admission.

What a great piece of City History! Wonderful exhibits showcasing the town's history and resident's life. We did the entire driving tour and learned a lot about life in the old west.

A definite must stop in Fort Stockton. Started at the visitor center and did the walking tour. If you don’t have time to spend doing everything the museum is the best option. You learn a lot of the history that was shown on the walking tour. Reasonably priced at $3 per adult.

Wonderful exhibition and display of not only items belonging to the original Hotel owners but also many local contributions. Ross, the Director, is a star and spent a lot of time discussing the history, not only of Fort Stockton but also the local area. Many many thanks and we will return.

Fantastic presentation and exhibits depicting local history and life. Excellent and knowledgeable staff especially Ross the Director. Only sorry we do not live locally to be able to attend the Thursday evening events. We'll worth a visit!!

Annie Riggs Memorial Museum is decent for a small town. The architecture of the historic building alone gives you some feelings of what's it like to be in the wild west. Read more about the artifacts and you will be intrigued.

Very interesting. Video recording was good, but person who narrated needs speech lessons....spoke too fast, ran sentences together. Had question, had to hunt down staff, who appeared to be busy with personal conversation with other staff member. Person i thought was maybe the curator, did't know answers to couple of my easy questions.
