This was a disappointing stay after several excellent experiences at other 21c locations. When I arrived, my first room was disgusting: the furniture was stained, hair and water all over the filthy bathroom, a bad moldy smell. I called the front desk and was quickly given a much cleaner room, but it was still disappointing for a four star hotel. The beds were not made nicely, as other reviewers have written the sheets looked like they were just thrown on. Carpet old and ripped. There were scuffs and holes all over the walls in the hallway and in the room. If you are facing the city, expect quite a lot of noise from the streetcar and (on weekends) bars and restaurants. That said, bed was pretty comfortable, and bath products were nice. Don’t get ripped off by the $39/night valet—walk around the corner to Olympic Garage ($7/day). In addition, the service left a lot to be desired. While no one was outright rude, it seemed like the front desk agents did not want to be there—no eye contact, few pleasantries. This was not the level of service that I expect from a 21c hotel.

Great location. Valet expensive. Received friendly and wonderful customer service from staff at 21C and Metropole. Food from Metropole was great. Room was clean, but needs updated. If nothing else, remove the stained curtains. The corner suite is definitely than spacious. The nightly complimentary bourbon pour was nice, as was walking through the art gallery. Staff able to bring mini fridge and microwave upon request.

I love this hotel. It's walking distance to the water & stadiums. The Cincy Connector stops right outside. Nicholson's is next door if you like fish & chips. It's has an art gallery, spa and cool bar. Really cool vibe

A fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was fresh and clean, artful and creative. The restaurant was delicious and well serviced. The art exhibits and sprinkle of art details throughout the space was fun and entertaining. People were friendly and professional - hard to find these days.

This is my second stay at 21cMuseum Hotel. The staff is gracious and helpful but the hotel is in need of updating. The room furnishings are tired and stained. The fact that there is no breakfast is a hardship. Metropole is a great restaurant for dinner and brunch on Sunday but what they called "small breakfast bites" with coffee on other days was lackluster fruit and packaged muffins (when staff remembers to put them out). Yesterday morning there was nothing to eat and they ran out of coffee before 8 :(. The room windows were very, very dirty.

WOW, staying in a Museum hotel is an experience. Beautiful art and wonderful vibe. Service was prompt most of the time and the staff was very friendly. Located in the arts district lots to see and do. I was surprised that they didn't have any ice machines and no microwave in the rooms, but was able to get a mini fridge. Ive stayed a lot of places and this was a unique one of a kind experience.

Our stay with 21c Museum Hotel in Cincinnati was extremely underwhelming. The photos online are misleading. For the high price we paid for just one night, we expected at the very least a clean room. Our room had a horrible smell, a damp bedspread, stained towels, stained pillow cases, unswept floors, the shower had so much build up it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. There were scuffs and small holes through the walls, a chipped mirror, random cords hanging from the light fixture, the mini fridge smelled foul and also had cords hanging from it. The toiletries had no safety seals and appeared used, the phone didn't work. We had to use our own phone to call down for our car and when we did, they didn't answer. The elevator had profanities written all over it. The windows were filthy, not that it mattered because it looked out to a brick wall. We didn't bother mentioning it to the staff during our stay out of fear that they would find a reason to charge us even more. We left as soon as possible with no intentions of ever returning. It's been almost a full week and there is still a $100 hold on my card. The only positive thing from this entire stay was one employee, who was working the desk when we checked in. She was lovely and very helpful.

Sucks to have to valet, but the valets were kind and quick! The hotel room was clean and unique. The paranormal exhibit was top notch. It's really nice that it's open 24hrs to people staying in the hotel as well. Would definitely come back and would like to visit 21C's in other cities. Fair priced for the value obtained.

The concept of a hotel combined with an art gallery is astounding! For the single evening that I spent there, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The room was amazing in all aspects; I had one of my best and most comfortable night's sleep that evening. The floor was quiet and inviting. The spaces downstairs offered a little bit of everything to please my senses. Mine was a recommended stay, by someone who knows the chef. Three thumbs up! I absolutely must return and bring my family with me so they can experience what I did.

I spent two nights at 21c while in town for business. I appreciated the art curation, convenience of the location, and comfort of the room. The bath products and whiskey night cap were a nice touch, and food from the restaurant was delicious. The only down side to my stay was my room (especially the desk area, coffee maker, and mugs) was dusty upon check in as if it had been vacant for some time. This was remedied when my room was serviced during my stay. Also, the room size (king room) was good for one person for two days but if it were a longer stay and/or two people it would have been a tight fit.

We really enjoyed our stay and visit. We probably spent an hour just enjoying the art on multiple levels of the hotel. The rooms were also very spacious and nice. Even the water pressure in the shower (a big bonus for me) was great. We will definitely be back any time we drive through and need a place to stay in Cincinnati.

We really wanted to stay in a 21c sometime, and this was our chance - it was a very nice weekend. The room, the art, and the restaurant breakfasts were great. We didn't get a chance to sample other meals or the free nightcap, but the latter was a lovely addition to the package. The room was very cute with ample storage, good mattress & pillows, free water and coffee, etc. We encountered a few small glitches and shabby spots, but we rolled with it and understood that certain quirks are to be found in nice old hotels like these. Wish this place all the best and hope to try out others in the cities we visit.

Cute hotel in the middle of the city. Beautiful art displays. The staff was super friendly, and gave us great suggestions of things to do on our very short stay. We will definitely stay here again!

It all started when I asked if I could get a room with a little daylight and a fresh smell. Excellent customer service- they promptly sent someone to help with my bags and I was moved to another room. I think it was 1006- as soon as we opened the door I was greeted with cigarette and baby vomit smell. Since we were going to be there 2 nights for a business meeting I apologized and asked for another room. Again, they promptly offered up another room. I was moved to 1008. NO A/C, they sent the engineer up while I was away at dinner. Upon return it was still muggy. I stayed since they had already accommodated and moved me twice. The next morning it was about 74 and quite muggy so I called and asked to have them check the A/C again and hopped in the shower. To my surprise- no cold water, only a teeny dribble of cold. I took a scolding shower and headed off to my meeting. Upon return the room was even warmer so I called the front desk at which time she said they could not fix it and showed up a few minutes later with keys to another room 1009. I apologized for being an issue and she apologized for the rooms and being moved so many times. I was again moved to another room with the help of front desk. The experience was not the worst, but my company will not return. 4 years ago we had a great experience and the rooms were well kept. The rooms are worn and smell old. The front desk was very kind, patient and accommodating. We did use one of the business rooms for our 2 day meeting and we were pleasantly surprised by Nat and her professionalism.

Stayed one night for a work trip. Valet parking and convenient and not too expensive. Rooms were nice and it it a good location downtown. Rooms don't have mini fridges but they brought one up quickly when I called the front desk.

The check in process was smooth and quick. I used Expedia to reserve the room. I don't know why the front desk asked for my email address when they should have it. The room was nice but the bathroom needs maintenance. The sink was clogged a bit and the shower head needs cleaning from the calcium build up. I love a good shower and this shower was okay. Water pressure was low at the right temp and pressure was good if you want a very hot shower. That was annoying. It's a good hotel and I would stay again. I don't understand the expectational rating on Expedia. Nothing expectational for me.

Absolutely love the 21c. We chose this hotel as our wedding block and used the Gallery 2 space/rooftop as our Rehearsal Dinner and absolutely no regrets! There's no place like it and I love that this special place resides in the small but mighty city of Cincy! It was a great hotel/destination to show off our hometown to our guests and show how cool Cincinnati really is. :) Everyone that works here is delightful and helpful. My only critiques are that some of the amenities didn't function seamlessly. The mini fridges didn't actually work which would have been nice for all our champagne/mimosas (but they provided us with ice buckets). And there was a big art-piece curtain/blind that didn't wind up which we needed it to for our makeup room - the staff said engineering would come but never did. No worries - just a couple tricky things to get passed. Aside from those small things, this place is really something special and I will always recommend it to others. I hope we have an excuse in the future to return!

Booked a luxury king room which is supposed to be facing the street or alley. When I checked in, the room I was given was an interior view room. When I questioned this, I was told it was because I booked through a third party but at the same time some luxury rooms are interior views. This is incorrect because the 21c museum website states the luxury king room is alley or street view, it does not state that some rooms may be interior. It doesn’t matter if the hotel was booked through a third party, you should be given the type of room listed on your booking. The receptionist eventually agreed to change the room. The second room was a street view which was nice however the room smelled like marijuana when we walked in. We dealt with it because this was already the second room given. Besides that the rooms were nice but a little worn. Location was great, walking distance to everything. Also free bourbon tasting while looking at art.

The vibe of the employees and this whole place are great, very supportive of art and the scene in Cincinnati. I got a sense that a lot of the employees were artists themselves. We liked the Metropole restaurant and had several rounds of drinks at night and breakfast in the morning. The hotel room was clean, bedsheets and robes felt cozy, and our floor was very quiet. It had a smart TV so we were able to stream a show. The only small complaint I have is the mini bar still being unstocked due to Covid concerns - drinks and snacks were available for purchase downstairs. We will be staying at a 21c hotel again when we travel.

The flooring was stained. Expected something more exciting in the design of the rooms. Staff was kind and helpful. Valet was exceptionally easy to use- loved the in and out access.

I was not particularly impressed with the 21c. They were nice enough. The rooms were clean. But there was nothing to write home about or anything that game me a particular need to return. If you want the boutique experience, I’d pick another hotel. If the proximity to a mediocre museum is a big deal to you, then this would be your bet. I was disappointed with what we got for more than twice what a comparable room at another hotel would have been. I upgraded out room to the “luxury” room but I cannot imagine what a lesser room would have been! It was small and sparse as it was! There wasn’t a “miss” per se but it certainly wasn’t an upgraded experience for the upgraded cost.

Had a very quiet, comfortable room. Good restaurant on site. Staff was very helpful. Hotel is right on the free Connector tram route. We handed the car keys to the valet and used the tram to get around to the main attractions for 2 days. The hotel displays art continually so that's an interesting twist.

We stayed at this hotel for the Cincinnati Reds opening day game. It was a great location for walking to the ballpark and also grabbing dinner at Sotto (which is right across the street from hotel) after the game. The room and hotel were very clean. We were excited for an added bonus of having coffee and muffins available in the morning. My kids liked that! The art around the hotel was fun to look at, but we did not take the time to view all of it. I recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again in the future.

This place is FANTASTIC. It is like a real museum in a hotel. This place has amazing art all over the hotel. The room Deluxe king was very clean and spacious, very interesting art in the shower. The customer service was good. They have a bar and restaurant inside plus a very cool rooftop place to sit outside and enjoy drinks and food view is wonderful. Highly recommend this place. Beds are soft and comfortable. You won't be disappointed.

Honestly, had a rough experience and did get the support from the staff we’d hoped for. First off, we booked a stay on a date that specifically could accommodate a momma to be massage. After several emails confirming our date/stay would work with a spa service .. we got a phone call less than an hour before heading up to the massage. There was no availability to rebook us before we left. It’s of course understandable that someone gets sick or calls off.. but what was very disappointing was the staff did not try to apologize for the mishap and no one acknowledged how incredibly last minute the cancellation happened. I tried talking to the front desk and was absolutely brushed off and my emails were ignored. It definitely did not feel the experience I paid for. Also, I am aware this is petty but the front desk told us there was complimentary breakfast from 7-10. We were downstairs by 9 and saw everything gone. When I asked the desk they said they wouldn’t be refilling it and the restaurant wouldn’t open until dinner. The hotel made us feel like we were not guests but quite frankly a burden to everyone working!

Fantastic hotel with surprises around every corner. Very clean and friendly. Fun to explore and see all the art being displayed or even integrated into the hotel. Service was top notch from everyone. Food and drinks were good, too. Would definitely stay again.

The room was very clean, the body wash and soap smelled nice and didn’t dry my skin out. The bartender (Brandon?) was great. Funny and personable. The drink was absurdly expensive though. The art was nice and fun to peruse.

The staff are amazing!!! I can’t say enough about the service. The restaurant also has great food. I am disappointed in our room though. The linens just aren’t quite comfortable and the bath and shower in one is not well thought out. Generally disappointed with the quality of the furnishings and the view isn’t quite as good as advertised. We are in a corner suite so we are definitely not in an economy room. I just expected more, especially considering the blinds on half of the corner won’t even raise. Just disappointed with the actual room though. Would probably come back because the service is excellent!

Fun hotel with a vibrant contemporary museum. Rooms were nice sided and the location is central to downtown attractions and across the River. Only downside is parking , but that’s to be expected when staying downtown. We just used their valet. We were in town for business but would definitely stay again.

  • 5/5 Jeremy T. 2 years ago on Google
This is my 2nd time staying at the 21c and it surely didn’t disappoint. The only issue we had was valet had curbed one of our wheels but they are the ones who brought it to our attention and that was a great thing to see. They owned it and have agreed to fix it so I will most certainly give them our repeat business.

  • 5/5 Cailen M. 2 years ago on Google
It was our first time staying here and we are so happy and cannot wait to come back! The valet and check in process were easy peasy. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the museum on the 1st and 2nd floor. We also liked how close it was to our favorite restaurants downtown. We did have an issue in our original room but David was quick to get that resolved. We are so appreciative of him. We will be back!

This I believe would be classified as a boutique hotel but it is much more. I prefer places that are not overwhelming ... or more simply stated, that don't have too much "going on" like the larger convention hotels. But that said, I was shocked and impressed by how much this hotel had "going on" without becoming a distraction ... especially being located in the center of the city. Not only does if offer a full compliment of services, they have incorporated an art museum throughout that provides an additional amenity one would not expect to find. Further, the staff was most attentive and the room I stayed in was immaculate. I really dug the tiles in the shower!

  • 4/5 Beonca R. 2 years ago on Google
We absolutely loved all the art throughout the hotel. Perhaps they will add more art to the second level... We rented the deluxe king and the room was clean and cozy. The bathroom tiles in the shower were a very nice touch. The restaurant Metropole, which is with in the hotel, was absolutely delicious. We stayed during the week of Christmas, we were able to attend an indoor light show within walking distance of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice boutique hotel and potentially the best in downtown Cincinnati, but our most recent stay left much to be desired. We booked a corner room for a parents night out and were surprised to find one of the bathroom sinks not functional (luckily there were two) and only 1 set of towels. The hotel bar was nice but the drinks were a tad bit on the strong side. The toiletries are high end except for the hand soap that leaves a strange film on your skin. Lastly, the bathroom was nice, but by no means luxurious which is what I expect for a $400+ room. We may stay here again but mainly due to the lack of other options in such a great location.

The staff was absolutely amazing!!!!! Very kind and helpful. Our first room had food left in the mini bar that was no longer working. We were switched to a new room. The manager and a very nice young man helped us move to our new room. The rooms were nice. Need to let them know if you want it cleaned. Rooms were kind of dated. Furniture seemed worn. And it was very stark and uninviting. The art was amazing!!!!!!

It's really a gem of a hotel. I've never stayed anywhere quite like it. Slightly old room, but full of art and design. Comfortable. Very attentive and responsive staff. I feel really taken care of and the location is right in downtown. Love this place.

Absolutely lovely. A warm and welcoming staff, great bar and a wonderful location. Our room was a little late to be ready and they comped us drinks at the bar (and I’m almost positive upgraded our room). So lovely, 10/10 would come back.

We stay here on our trips to Cincinnati, the staff is generally helpful and polite, the rooms are lovely, valet are the best and always go above and beyond. I love seeing the new exhibits and its very conveniently located. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the restaurant, but there's plenty of other option nearby to make up for it.

Great location, close to many attractions and restaurants and bars. The restaurant and bar inside is great. The rooms are spacious and clean. The customer service was nice, friendly, and helpful. Love the penguins at all the 21c Hotels. The art museum is great and open 24/7.

We were looking for a fancy hotel or our anniversary and 21c seemed to fit perfectly. Great location and nice rooms + a little gift from the hotel made the start of the trip very nice. Unfortunately some things we're sub-par like the restaurant being closed and the spa service being late/underwhelming. But overall a great place to stay in Cincinnati if you don't mind overpaying just a bit.

This place is super special to us. We had our first date here and after many more visits, decided to have our wedding here. Our friends and family were blown away with the beauty of the hotel, lobby, lawn, ballroom and every amenity. We were treated like royalty and they made the day absolutely perfect. Food was delicious, rooms comfy and definitely the best

  • 4/5 Taylor A. 1 year ago on Google
I think the concept of this place is really cool, especially of you like art and history. When you walk in it's a bit puzzling because it feels like an actual museum verses a hotel. The valet parking and special holding for your luggage makes it feel more high-end. The older lady with braides was Highly kind and super sweet! And very caring for every customer, I wish I referred her name because she is absolutely excellent! My only complaint is that the sheets felt very cheap and the top cover wasn't heavy or warm at all, it felt like a bottom sheet. So luckily we're able to control the room tempt cause the room is very cold. The pillows are flat and uncomfortable. Other than that the king suite I stayed in was super clean minus the gross smell of whatever bathroom cleaner they used but it went away after two hours. If they upgrade the comfortability of the bedsheets and pillows I'd definitely come stay more than one night next time!

My son was looking for popcorn late in the evening but the store was already closed. He was asking me to run across the street to the theater, but the lady at the front desk was so thoughtful and kind, she offered us a bag of her own popcorn she had in the back office. It was a small gesture, but very meaningful to us. The gentleman at the desk then offered to send a microwave up and it was there and plugged in before we returned from visiting the. gallery. The room was beautiful and clean and we enjoyed our stay for my son’s birthday. Love this hotel and will be back again!
