Nurses will NOT answer the phones, they let it ring and ring and then hang it up before speaking. They skip pain medication ( are they stealing it? Who the hell knows at this point). STRAIGHT NEGLECT. If my father dies in this hospital I will be taking SEVERE ACTION. YOU DONT LET PEOPLE WHO ARE TERMINALLY ILL SUFFER. YOU DONT GET AN ATTITUDE WITH THEM, THIS IS YOUR JOB TO MAKE THEM COMFORTABLE. MY FATHER IS SO AFRAID TO ASK FOR ANTHING AFTER WAY HE WAS HANDLED. HE IS LOVED AND WORTHY, treat him like it.

I am only giving 1 star because I have to. Please, do not send your loved ones here if you do not want them to suffer. The entire medical team at this hospital is negligent. None of them are on board with anything, at all. It's almost like there is no communication between people's care teams. They will set you back 100 steps at a time and steal precious time off your loved ones life's. I would rather have open heart surgery by a dead deer then go to this hospital. The doctors are incompetent. The nurses are rude and like to make faces. After MANY visits, fighting, begging, pleading, my loved one is in terrible shape. Especially do not go here if you need cancer care. You will suffer.

Nurses were great , doctors wouldn't listen , my care was mismanaged. I had a bad infection after a minor procedure. They tried to tell me what my pain was when I had previous experience and knew it wasn't. They would have sent me home had I not insisted. Blood tests showed a probable infection , and my pain spread all over my abdomin and back , sides and ribs and shoulders ...to the point it was hard to even walk or breath in deep. My temp spiked at 102.7 and my bp dropped to 98/54. All this time they were pumping me with antibiotics but acting like it was just as a precaution. As again belittling my pain. When my bp suddenly dropped as I mentioned they changed the antibiotic they gave me and within 24 hours the pain was going away , no more low grade fevers etc. The worst part is they put me on antibiotics before taking blood cultures so we will never know what infection I had. Based on how I felt , what happened and my symptoms ...Google suggests it could have been sepsis..which can also give a blood culture negative result. I just wonder if I hadn't advocated for myself and insisted they help me... if I had taken the doctors advice to go home ... hmm. On top of that they didn't even admit me. They had me as outpatient observation. Which is a way they can provide the same services but charge me and my insurance more as I was there from Wednesday to Saturday. Once this stent is out tomorrow with hopefully no more complications this time, I will never return to this hospital again. As is I'm terrified to go back at all. Since its where I had the procedure to remove my kidney stone that was done on Tuesday , just the day before. Maybe I'm not a doctor but I know I have never felt more sick and was in horrible pain and the doctors acted like it was nothing or stent pain. Let me set it straight again... I had excruciating pain on the 22nd , kidney stone blockage, had a stent placed to relieve pressure, and given antibiotics for a kidney infection (all done at St.E in Florence) sent home and had stent pain from the 23rd to the 3rd. Not fun but manageable ... then the surgery on the 3rd at Edgewood, kidney stone removed and new stent put in, left in alot of pain but told it was normal, back to ER in Florence next day in even more pain progressively spreading and getting worse, only option was go home or if I insisted edgewood would admit me(which they didn't) so then back in hospital as outpatient observation from 4th to 7th which I explained...now only pain left is stent pain and again manageable. I go back in tomorrow for the stent removal. GOD HELP ME

I arrived at the hospital by ambulance. Every nurse and Doctor that cared for me was absolutely amazing! I was admitted and had to get an upper GI Scope. The Endoscopy team could not have been better. Every employee that I came in contact with made me calm and I was at ease. I can't say enough about how wonderful this hospital is.

Worst experience Ive ever had here. I usually feel very confident and well cared for in my care team if I have to visit this ER. I know it was a very busy night, but I have never been treated so badly and made to feel so unimportant. Only time I have ever left feeling worse than when I walked in

Everyone here really goes out of their way to help make your time here not only painless but as enjoyable as possible. The staff shows empathy, patience and are genuinely just lovely human beings. I spent a few days here and had the pleasure of speaking with people in different departments and every person was nicer than the next. In a profession where it would be so easy to be jaded, grouchy or just too exhausted to do anything beyond your standard duties- everyone I met went above and beyond. An unfortunate circumstance was made significantly better by the people here.

My dad had to have emergency surgery in this hospital. We could not be more pleased with the staff everyone has been so kind and empathetic. The doctors have been very informative and did a great job. Literally every staff member we have come in contact with has went out of their way to be helpful and kind willing to go out of their way to make our time here pleasant. Even when we refused to follow protocols they listened and didn't create issues. They trusted that my mom new what was best for my dad's health and didn't punish us for being his advocate. I would never hesitate to come here.

This has honestly have to be the worst ER I have been to. I went in with severe stomach pain, vomiting, passing out, my blood pressure was stroke level high, etc. could barely walk, or stand, so bad I had to be put in a wheelchair when we got there. They got me to a room quickly, when the nurse finally came in to put my iv in, I let her know I was a hard stick, always have been. She laughed it off and proceeded to stick me twice, first time she missed, second time she blew my vein and took way too long to remove the iv when it was burning. They brought someone else in who put another iv in. Thought everything was fine, until I went for a CT with contrast, and found out that the iv was actually in my muscle, so my arm is double it’s size because the contrast went into my muscle and not into my veins. Anyways, they gave me nausea meds and pain meds that didn’t help, they completely ignored when I told them I was having issues with passing out. They told me I just had ibs, which I know I don’t because I have been checked for it before. They sent me home saying my issues were ibs and low potassium. The nurses and doctors both acted like they did not care at all, I felt like I wasn’t being listened to, and after all was said and done, I got lectured about smoking pot and how that can be the issue, when I don’t even smoke. They ignored that I was dehydrated and sick, and they did absolutely nothing to help. The only doctor that I felt cared about my well being, was the doctor who did my CT and found out the issue with my iv. I would NEVER recommend this hospital to anybody. They will not listen, nor will they do anything to help.

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I got to the hospital at 7 after being sent by my doctor for back pain and other issues. Dr thought it was kidney stones, at 1030 when those test came back negative she was going to send me home so I questioned what to do since the pain was still a 7 at best. 1130 rolled around and she wanted to do more test. Fine whatever. I had been moved rooms where no one checked on me l until 130 when the nurse came in and had no clue what was going on. I asked to be discharged because clearly they had no idea what was going on with me. Absolute joke and a complete waist of time with no answers 7 hours later.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I felt this was truly necessary. I delivered my daughter at St.E Edgewood 9 days ago & I can honestly say it was the best experience I could have possibly imagined. The nurses there were over the top with their care, attitude, knowledge, etc. I felt so comfortable & safe the entire time. Also, they took exceptional care of my newborn as well & I knew she was in good hands! I would recommend this place to deliver a million times & will definitely be back for my future deliveries. Thank you St. E!!! (:

I'm very disappointed at the way that the Interventional Radiology department has handled things with my mother. She has been in the hospital since March 24 after taking her to the ER for severe pain in her back. It was discovered through xray and an MRI that she had a compression fracture in her lumbar spine. After being at the hospital for 7 hours and being admitted to a regular room, we were told that she was COVID positive. Mind you she has had all 3 vaccines. We were then moved to a "COVID" room where she can only have 1 visitor a day for 1 hour. Then, we are told that IR would not do the procedure for 20 days after the positive test. I find all of this ridiculous!! At this point it has been 8 days since her positive test, which as I understand from the CDC, is more than sufficient for vaccinated individuals. She has been moved from Edgewood to a skilled nursing floor at Ft. Thomas for "rehab" and at some point may have the procedure to help her. If they would just go ahead and do the procedure, since it has been over a week, she could be home recovering. Also, her primary diagnosis since she has been moved to skilled nursing is now COVID. It says absolutely nothing about her compression fracture. Which from where I stand screams $$$ for the hospital. I find it appalling that they put the almighty dollar above patient care and comfort. And in my best sarcastic voice, I say, Thank goodness St. E has monopolized health care in Northern Kentucky.

Went to the ER because I was passing a lot of blood when using the restroom, my throat felt like it was closing off,I had my first migraine ever that was perpetual for the past 4 days, and I was having urine retention issues and could hardly pee. I waited to be seen for almost 6 hours and when they finally called me back, there were no doctors, only nurses 60yrs and older. The nurse that I was assigned failed to draw blood twice and got irate when I told her my symptoms. They said, "we're not your primary care doctor so we can't do anything for you. Make an appointment with gastro if you want help with that as it's not our responsibility." I told them I suspected that I had an umbilical hernia and the nurse checked, said "oh yeah that's a big one", then proceeded to leave. I was discharged with a prognosis of "low potassium" and nothing else. 6 hours and I know nothing more of my symptoms than when I went in and I'm still very ill. This is blatant incompetency and depending on what my doctor tells me on Monday, I may be pursuing a malpractice claim. This is the most unprofessional staff I've ever encountered and they have NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER practicing medicine. You're better off going to any hospital across the river if you're experiencing a medical emergency because this "Hospital" will not help you.

I had both my aged parents in St. Eads hospital at the same time and although maddening at times the doctors and staff could not have been more helpful. Most importantly, they made Mom and Dad feel safe and comfortable and not afraid of all the testing and hubbub of medical issues. They were always willing to take the time to explain both what they were doing as well as what was to come next. We were welcome to visit and the cafeteria food was even pretty good. Thanks so much to the good folks from St. Elizabeth Hospital!

In October of last year ER Staff at allowed me to sit in a room alone for over two hours while 35 weeks pregnant with Covid. They do not care about the patients. Today I went in for extremely swollen throat, headaches, inability to hold my own head up, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and cold sweats and hip pain causing inability to move well. After waiting an hour in tears I was put back into a triage room where a “doctor” came in about thirty minutes later. Looked me over decided to give me a cocktail of mucinex, Sudafed, Tylenol, and ibuprofen. No bloodwork was ever taken to determine if I was dehydrated or pregnant or anything nor was I asked if there was a possibility (I haven’t held anything in my stomach in three days) fluids were not pushed, the hip pain went completely ignored. I had informed them that I am breastfeeding and was still given Sudafed. Because of the cocktail of medication provided prior to my test results coming back I could not receive a shot that could provide immediate relief for the strep throat I was diagnosed with. Many concerns ignored. The receptionists are absolutely rude. I was told “can you put a mask on so you don’t get other folks sick thanks” and over all treated like I was completely ruining her day by being there. If I could rate the ED at Edgewood a zero I would. Something needs done. No one should avoid getting help because the folks that are supposed to take care of them are negligent and rude.

This is a great hospital. I've had two loved ones in this hospital with serious health conditions and both times their care has been stellar. The staff has always been professional, warm, and accessible. Knowing that my loved one is well taken care of makes facing difficult times a little bit easier.

For every 1 encounter with a medical professional that is kind and caring, we have encountered 3 that were thw exact opposite. Today the nurse didn't know how to start an IV. Asked 3 times over a period of 5 hours to get bed cleaned up from pure wicked leaking and still waiting. Rather than ask for someone to call to give feedback after reading g a review why not have a team that checks in on the patients while they are in the hospital and solicit real time feedback.

I was very disappointed with the "care" at this hospital. The nurses in the ICU are all extremely rude, and lack any type of compassion that you'd expect from an INTENSIVE CARE unit. Hours would go by and not one staff member checked in. We would have to go searching for someone every time something was wrong. Breathing problems, beeping ventilator, no one came in to see what was going on until we grabbed the first person we could find in the hall. Nurse Bethanne was probably the worst. She couldn't be bothered, was very rude when we asked any questions. But the staff in general was very unfriendly and unprofessional to say the least. Would sometimes wait over 10 minutes to be buzzed in, and when they finally did answer they were very nasty about it. I'm convinced the outcome would have been very different if we would've gone somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend taking anyone you care about to this hospital.

I was seen for a motorcycle accident I had a TBI and road rash on my right left and arm. The staff were sarcastic when I brought my helmet in with me. The doctor cared very little about any of my injuries including a severely bruised knee with deep road rash. The nurse slapped 2 pieces of gauze on there with no neosporin he put an ace bandage over top of it wrapped the bandage starting in the middle went up then went down. Care less. Very painful horrible experience as most of my experiences with st Elizabeth doctors in general have been. St Elizabeth is a monopoly so everyone has to go here so they don’t have to care because we don’t have a choice.

I took my wife to Urgent Care With severe dizziness, she could barely walk, at 3:30 on the 22nd THEY examined her and told us to go to the ER. We checked in at 430. At 10pm I asked how much longer, I was informed two people were ahead of us. at 11:30 they were still ahead of us. We left without service. There was no Urgency in this Emergency. Was told when we left that we could have gone to Florence and been seen in 10 minutes. Not when we got there, mind you, AFTER . They took blood work twice to check troponins, but other then the 1st results posting to My Chart we were not told anything . We never saw a doctor. I am diabetic and had to drive home to take my insulin, leaving my wife in a wheelchair against a wall. I will fight till I am bankrupt before I will pay for this visit. I can't believe how much we have to pay for insurance, when I can't even be seen. If your Urgent Care sends someone to the ER then that makes me assume it's important. You get 1 star only because zero was not an option. This will not be the end of this.

Maybe everyone's experience with this hospital would be better if they would actually still send real doctors in to check you instead of sending in Med students alone.. All for them learning but why would we feel safe coming to a hospital only to be seen by a med student and not one actual doctor?! If I have any complications during labor and delivery St E better be ready for a lawsuit.

My experience with this hospital came when my dear friend of 66 years was admitted after a cancer diagnosis. I drove from Dayton to find she was downstairs getting a scan , she returned nearly 4 hours later because there was no one to transport her back to her room. Two weeks later, now even more ill she was taken for a ultrasound, made it almost back to her room, oops they did the wrong test and she was taken back after only making it to the elevator. The correct test took less than thirty minutes but she lay in the waiting area 6 hours,, no offers off anything she didn’t have breakfast or lunch nor dis she receive any water nor checked for bathroom need. My friend is actively receiving chemo, was on intake and output and needed help. She could hear the staff laughing and talking but no one checked on her. A man who was also waiting, (they were both on the cardiac unit)actually got out of his bed and tried pushing the bed towards the elevator. He’d been there hours also. I was told “ Yeah there’s a problem that is common with that unit” . My friend also was offered a wash basin once in two weeks, her room was not cleaned the entire two weeks she was there. I live out of state and was only told about all this after she returned from the six hour wait for transport. My friend was worried she would be treated worse if she complained and would be left without any care at all. The nurses were friendly on the unit but no one missed enough to even check why she had not returned either time. I worked 35 years as a registered nurse and will be with her and her family as she moves to hospice. God help anyone stuck in this hospital.

Horrible experience, I had two surgeries with Dr. Vail Brennan for the same issue and did not fix the issue. It was a cyst removal and the cyst remained after both surgeries. No indication was made before either surgery to indicate where the procedure was to be done. St. Elizabeth reviewed and said everything was done to their standard of care. I am now paying for both surgeries and am in need of a third. Dr. Brennan agreed to a third surgery and when I sought a second opinion, the surgery was canceled due to a lack of trust in our patient/doctor relationship. Follow-up - I was seen at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood in 2021 for a cyst. I was scheduled for surgery to remove them. I had two right next to each other. I had the surgery and thought everything had been done correctly. I gave the site time to heal and to my dismay it felt as though only one had been removed. I contacted the hospitals patient relations department to report that the surgery had not been done correctly or fully. They started an investigation, meanwhile I went back to see the same surgeon. He immediately felt the cyst and scheduled another procedure. I had that surgery and when I awoke was told that the wasn’t much cyst to take out. This was confusing to me as it felt much bigger than the first that had been removed. The next day I felt the incision site and it was not the same site that the surgeon and I agreed upon prior to the surgery. Neither time had the surgery done a rest to check the site prior to surgery. He had operated in the same location as the first surgery. I called the hospital right after and reported that the surgery had been done in the wrong site. They started investigating that surgery. I saw the surgeon 8 days later and he agreed and said he would make everything better. He scheduled me for a third surgery for ten days later. I called the hospital to explain the situation and that I have had this surgery twice and was still in need of a third. I didn’t trust this surgeon anymore and they scheduled me to see a different surgeon. He wanted to wait until I was fully healed. Eventually I did have the third surgery this past month with a different surgeon and now three surgeries later, for a simple cyst removal, I am finally healed. It took 3 years, 3 surgeries and 2 surgeons. I have spoken with and communicated as soon as possible to St. Elizabeth's risk management as well as patient advocates about what I have gone through. Their response has been that everything has been done to their standard of care. I have tried every avenue that I know is available to me to try to make this right. In total the three surgery’s out of pocket will amount to around 12000. Not to mention the physical recovery and mental anguish that the situation has put me in. I have asked how St. E reviews the procedures and what they review and that isn’t something they share. I have spoken with my second surgeon and he says that these cysts don’t come back. So, I have had two from the beginning and they had been missed.

I had been going here for many years, service had always been decent. Recently I went in for pain in two places, the nurse physically checked both places and ordered a hospital visit for these areas to be checked out. I went and never heard anything back, I called for a week begging for an answer and the last thing in my chart was "We will have a doctor call you back." That never happened. Now the hospital wants me to pay a bill for something I never got an answer on. When I dispute this I was offered a 10% discount, then a 25% discount because they could see how screwed up my charts is and that no one gave me an answer yet. Then later I was offered a 50% discount. I'm tired of being offered discounts, I WANT A FREAKING ANSWER!!! PLEASE!!! A similar thing happened with St. Elizabeth last year and I had to dispute a $1,250 bill stating I never received help from a doctor (sound familiar?). It took them 7 months to review my chart and the bill before they conceded that I received no help and did not need to pay the bill. GET IT TOGETHER ST. E. Please, people need help and good communication is key. Reach out to your patients with answers, that's why we pay you. For help in the form of verbal response over the phone or in person.

My wife was rushed by ambulance to the er with severe chest pains, shortness of breath and numbness in the left arm. The ambulance workers did ekg/ecg and the findings showed possible blockage in the left side. To make sure the worker did the test twice and it was consistent. They did the same test in the er but did not read the test until Saturday after they had sent my wife home with a diagnosis of pleurisy. 4 days later my wife gets a new test result in her my chart, which shows an underlying heart issue. I would most definitely not take anyone to this hospital and it is supposed to be a cardiac hospital. I myself have had heart issues for over 12 years and I have never been treated the way she was treated. Although, I use Christ in Cincinnati and she would have too, but was taken by ambulance to this place because she works in Northern Kentucky. What a joke. I know that after this, something happens to my wife before I can get her seen by people who know what they are doing, I will own Saint Elizabeth in a malpractice law suit.

The team at the new heart and vascular center saved my wife’s life, literally, after a routine test caused a life-threatening issue, the team went into action to save her and get her to the emergency room. We are so thankful for all of the professionals involved and their commitment to excellence. It’s difficult to express our appreciation with a few sentences, but please accept my sincere thank you.

On 4/27/2022 I unfortunately had to have surgery to clean out my carotid artery. While this is very stressful I cannot praise the entire staff of St Elizabeth hospital enough. From the first person who greeted me to the last person who helped discharge me I was treated with compassion, respect and sincere concern for my personal situation. A special thanks to Brandy who helped me through the recovery process a true angel of mercy completely dedicated to her patients. 5 stars is not enough for the amazing care that I received.

My Grandmother is a critical heart Patient there with no sense of Reality right now, they checked on her every 2hrs knowing the state she is in and took her off of a cath also knowing she she is a fall risk, they barely checked her blood pressure. Left her sitting in throw up for 10mins while she is crying and trying to get out of it. Icu unit was amazing with her. Her current care team not so much. Do better st E, and you'll get less complaints. Luckily the head nurse of that department put some sense into the other nurses

Ive been waiting 4 hrs for my mom to be released. They said she had to have an xray done and then said she didnt need it but still havent released her for her to go home. They don't care about their patients. This is the most unorganized hospital I have ever seen in my life. Their right hand don't know what their left hand is doing. Very frustrating to say the least. Disappointed.

If I could do less than 1 star I would. This hospital is absolutely horrible, they assume and don’t diagnose based on their assumptions. I absolutely hate the fact that St Elizabeth is the only hospital option around here unless I want to travel to Ohio. Anywhere that allows triage nurses to call women “little girls” to their faces and accuse them of overreacting when they’re in active labor and their water bursts with the babies heart beat monitor actively hooked up and projecting the sound, shouldn’t be a thing. This isn’t my only bad circumstance here, and plenty of my family has had similar issues that I have witnessed. You allow your staff to belittle human beings based on their own assumptions that are wrong. Don’t go here if you can help it.

I went into the ER last night due to some very sharp pains in my abdomen which led to having to have an emergency surgery. I just want to give credit where it’s due Diana the charge nurse, the ER doc, The OR doc, to the anesthesiologist and the other nurse were all so nice even though I was freaking out. Thank you for caring! I’ve never had a better experience.

I spent this past weekend in the hospital for pneumonia. The care I received during my stay was excellent. However, they sent me home on insulin for my diabetes as oral medications weren't keeping my levels controlled. I have never used insulin before and was give very little education on how to do so. I was told to check my levels before meals and dose with a fast acting insulin according to a sliding scale based on my levels. The sliding scale wasn't in any of my documentation they sent home with me. I had to call and get it over the phone. I was never told how to deal with highs and lows between meals. I was never shown the proper way to use the prefilled injector for my slow acting. I managed to figure that out on my own but I'm still stumbling through between meal lows and highs. Maybe I should have asked more questions, but I was sick and overwhelmed and exhausted and never should have been sent home with medication that could potentially be deadly if used improperly without the proper education. Based on my care during the stay, I would love to be able to offer a higher rating. Unfortunately I cannot due to the danger of the situation I was sent home in.

We moved to NKY 3 years ago and I had planned on using St E for our family's healthcare - now I would never consider St E and will always cross the river.  In August 2019 I had a common surgery, I have no significant health issues, take no prescriptions. Yet my care was so poor, I consider myself to lucky to be alive.  My blood pressure was critically low for an entire day and I only received nursing care, no MD checked on me. Also,  I had one important note in my file: Allergic to adhesives, I also wore an allergy alert bracelet, but the anesthesiologist used adhesives on my back resulting in my entire back being covered in a horrible, itchy rash which only resolved weeks later with oral steroids.  So many avoidable mistakes were made, communication,  MD supervision etc...  was none-existent.   I wish I could trust St E but all I can say is "STAY AWAY!"  do not go there!  It is worth the drive to Cincinnati.

My mother has been in this hospital for over 2 weeks due to cardiac issues. It seems when one step is taken, 3 steps get pushed back. The doctors in the cardiac department seem to have forgotten how to read a simple medical chart. After several tests and quite a few procedures, no one is on the same page with her treatment plan. We get told one thing from the surgeons which gives us some hope and answers, then the floor doctors come in and tell us something different. Seriously, when three surgeons tell you open heart surgery is not an option, then the floor doctor comes in and tells my mother that they will be doing open heart surgery, that is a bit confusing. Get it together St. Elizabeth...you hold our loved ones' lives in your hands!!!!

Grossly understaffed hospital. There is a complete lack of clear communication/information amongst the care team, as well as between the team and the patient/patient family. However, the MORE disturbing and urgent issue is the biohazards that have been clearly visible each of the past 3 visits that my father has had to the ER. Each time, visible blood spatter has been present on walls, baseboards, ceilings in the emergency department rooms, along with other unsanitary items from previous patient care (glove and IV wrapper left on floor, used urinal in corner of room ect). This potential health risk completely negates any professionalism and patient centric care that SOME of the staff actually demonstrate. Unfortunately, it was only during the most recent visit that I thought to document the above noted problems.

Loved the hospital and the care we received for our newborn. Like the saying goes, all it takes is one bad apple to ruin the bunch. With that said, our last nurse was absolutely rude with her comments toward my wife and myself about a medical procedure I chose to have done based on my religious beliefs.

This hospital system doesn’t care about their patients, treatment is abhorrent. If you arrive in that emergency room in pain, rest assured you will leave that way.

They let my wife drive home 14 min after receiving morphine. Found her nodded off in the driveway. Moral of the story it's ok to drive impared if a doctor gives it to you. Danger to public is just collateral damage. St. E could care less.

Our daughter just delivered her baby on January 20 at 10 pm. The doctor was fantastic! 6 of our 7 nurses were absolutely amazing! Very compassionate, quick to help and so sweet to our daughter. I'd recommend ST.E L&D to anyone!!! Having said that we did have one nurse who maybe isn't cut out for the job. She was rude, snippy and frankly, OFFENSIVE. I will be reporting her as will my daughter's husband. Unprofessional and judgmental. Nasty.

My primary sent me here for a cat scan of my head and neck and I was called a liar in many round about ways, telling me that primaries don't do that to avoid overloading the ER, she sent the orders, they never got passed back started checking out my heart and I finally asked the Dr to just call my primary which he did but still only got the cat scan of my head and not the neck, terrible communication between them all which took the entire day away from me and caused me to miss an endo appoinment..

My brother is on 6 weeks of iv antibiotic therapy so I go stay with him everytime I get a chance. I have to say most of the staff have went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. He is in 1A and I have to give a special shout out to a few nurses. Brandon Martinez, Lizzy (unfortunately I'm unsure of her last name), and one third shift nurse, I didn't catch her name, have been extra amazing! They have went out of their ways to make my brother comfortable. They even check in on him on nights that they aren't assigned to him. They really go out of their way to make my stay comfortable also. They really don't even have to worry about me, but they do. I would give 5 stars but there is always room for improvement. I think the staff should communicate a bit better and housekeeping needs to improve. Most come in and just take garbage. A couple weeks into being there causes some mess that needs swept and disinfected. Other than that, it has been the best experience I've had at a hospital in a long time. Keep up the improvements!

My wife delivered a baby here and we both had the greatest experience one can ever have at a hospital. The staff was very friendly and respectful. The nurse who was assigned to us was wonderful and patient. I guess you just need to show respect to earn it. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews here.

Staff was amazing with my 4 year old daughter, everybody was great, but especially our nurse. She was so good and kind with my daughter, making her miserable experience being sick just a little better! She was working around 9pm on a Tuesday! Her name was patrica I believe! Very happy with how we were treated and always appreciate a good, kind nurse!

My grandma was in here & it was horrible. She was complaining of side pain & the ER doc acted like she was making it up&it was all in her head. She was later diagnosed with Pancreatitis. While they were doing X-Rays she was dropped & the staff never told us. We found out b/c my grandma's head was bleeding by her Frontal Lobe. My mom (POA) asked what happened. We were told she was dropped while being transferred from the bed to the X-Ray table. My mom lost it & wanted to know why she wasn't told, why she wasn't cleaned up & why they didn't test her to ensure it didn't cause a head injury. The next day we visited my grandma was in tears. She told us the male nurse watching her that night told her we were taking her to a nursing home & didn't want her anymore. My dad confronted the guy, and through our questions he remained silent. We left for a few hours & when we came back my grandma was out of it. My mom went to the nurse's station to ask what she had been given. The nurse on duty had given her Morphine (which she was allergic to) & is in her file not to give her. I brought her a blanket in & wrote our last name on it in large font with a sharpie and the next day it was gone. I asked what happened to the blanket & was told the linens were taken that morning for laundry. I never got the blanket back. My sister had her son here in 2018, and that experience was good. Which is why I give it 3 stars. The nurses were nice, caring & knowledgeable. They were reassuring, and kept a close eye on my sister. So maybe the nursing staff has changed for the better since my grandma was in this hospital in 2015.

I have had both of my two babies here via c-section. I had Dr Carpenter the first time in 2021 and just last week I had Dr. Plat. My experience both times was really good, I liked everyone, they were nice and encouraging to me, the room was nice and clean and full of things I needed. This last time they even had a professional photographer come by which was nice because I’m a photographer which means I’m usually behind the camera and so I don’t have many photos of myself. It was great to get the newborn photos out of the way incase I get too busy or forget. And I’m actually obsessed with the food, the menu that is for patients only. I wish I could have the flatbread and pasta when I am not a patient, which I know people will think is funny but it’s true! And I am a “foodie”. I’m very into natural and organic so of course every single thing wasn’t for me but that flatbread is so amazing. Oh and…They didn’t press on my stomach as much this time, I think they got some bad reviews about that in the past which is silly because the massaging of the stomach is necessary I think, even though it’s the worst part for most people. It was very minimal this time for me, practically just a quick poke. This place will always have a special memory in my heart for obvious reason.

I really really don't like this hospital, I'm 34 weeks pregnant, also have given birth here and Everytime I have been there for any check up or anything the nurses are very rude and act like they hate their job. When you ask them questions they act like you should already know, this is the worst experience you will ever have if you go here to deliver a baby.. I'm sorry Mama's but your better off staying at home..

I saw a lot of doctors & nurses during my stay & everyone was very kind & caring no matter if it was the early morning or middle of the night. I am so grateful to all of the staff there who put in so much effort, work 12 hours a shift yet still manage to be so sweet & kind to patients. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

Just go across the river you’ll get better heath care. I dread coming to this place, it’s embarrassing the people they employ. Regardless of political affiliations your healthcare providers should not be talking about their politics opinions in front of patients. It creates biased medical care and is very unprofessional. I recommend Trihealth they have better providers

I came in to get lab work done. There was an older gentlemen with gray hair name Steve that was working the desk. He did not even acknowledge that I was standing there. He was looking at the computer screen when he finally said something to me he didn’t even look up at me he just said can I help you. He asked my name and told me to have a seat. As I sat waiting my turn I watched him treat everyone else who came after me the same way. He complained to one of the text doesn’t anybody else do blood work. I observed him pulling down his mask while he was looking at this phone then he called I assumed it was his boss and talked on the phone with his mask off. Someone came in that their doctor sent them in for a COVID test because someone from their work was positive for COVID. He called to make sure he was suppose to take them. We can not come into the hospital without getting our temp checked and wear a mask you would think the workers would abide by their own rules. It would be nice to be treated like a person with kindness and not like a bother just because you are checking in. Once I got to the lab tech she was great. This was at the Edgewood location.

Unexpected heart issues resulting in open heart surgery - outstanding experience from beginning to end. Dr. Toltzis helped identify the issue and execute testing to determine necessity. Dr. K Miller performed an angiogram to further investigate the depth of the issue and see if stints would be advisable solution. Dr. V. Schmelzer performed open heart triple bypass surgery - all of this in the span of 2 weeks. EVERY nurse, nurse practitioner, doctor, employee and volunteer we encountered along the terrifying way was attentive, compassionate, knowledgeable and nurturing. We were in exceptionally capable hands that not only addressed the cardiac illness, but also the emotional and associated needs of the patient and the family. We could not be more pleased with the pre-procedure/hospital stay/post-procedure care and treatment. Would recommend anyone with cardiac needs to the St Elizabeth facility and care team!

I had a horrible experience nothing like the video on your hospital stay. I experienced enough trauma to have nightmares about it. Also good luck trying to give feedback you'll be directed to voice mail that never gets back to you. Having had a recent hospital stay at the Fort Thomas location it was very positive. Edgewood extremely negative, awful, and lacking in professionalism on the regular ward. It's like the absolutely worse possible people are on staff, including nurses and aides..Visit by "physical therapist " beyond horrible. Very threatening and humiliating it was as if she was gaslighting me. As a result I am not adding referral visits ever. I'm actually considering cutting all ties with St Elizabeth's network. Avoid this place. Oh and if you feel like discussing this with me answer when I call.

Had to call the office 3 days in a row to be able get confirmation that my prescription was called in. They told me 2 times they would call me right back. Never heard another thing from them. After finally getting confirmation on the 3rd call of the day I Told them to please let the pharmacy know it was approved by the doctor..and they failed to do that as well. Looks like I’m going without my medication over the holidays because they were too lazy to do anything.

I was sent to St Elizabeth ER by my Primary Care doctor after having a scan on my Gallbladder. My Doctor told me I needed emergency surgery. I'm a type one diabetic on an insulin pump and I was fasting. After waiting hours in the ER the doctor told me my condition was not emergent. So I got my doctor on the phone and she couldn't believe the ER doctor wasn't taking my condition seriously. She said, My condition was absolutely emergent based on my gallbladder not functioning and me being a type one diabetic further complicated matters. The ER doctor admitted me and told me there was no one on staff who could preform my surgery. He told my I could eat, but No one came to give me a menu. I kept reminding the nurses that I was a diabetic and I needed to eat. I was ignored until 9pm when I demanded a menu. At this point my blood sugar was dropping fast after fasting all day. They told me the cafeteria was closed for the day, but one nurse was able to finally get me some food. After spending the night in the ER I finally got a bed upstairs. My nurse Jane, (I think that was her name) a large women with terrible bedside manner. Jane told me to take my gown off as she needed to strip search me. She felt my breast and looked at my vagina. Then she had me roll over, spread my butt cheeks as she looked inside. Jane told me this is common practice, but I've spent a lot of time in hospitals and this is a first for me. I honestly felt violated by it. Jane was the only nurse in my room when she strip search me. Normally when naked body parts need to be examined, it's done by a doctor with a witness in the room. Not this time. Jane furthered my discomfort during my stay by withholding my pain medication. My doctor ordered pain medication and Jane split my dose in half and refused to give me the other half of my dose when I asked for it. Even after I finally had my surgery performed and my gallbladder removed, Jane treated me like a junkie who was drug seeking. I had legitimate pain because I had an organ removed and my nurse wouldn't give me all of my pain meds. She treated me like I was faking it for drugs. It made me wonder if she was taking the other half of my pain meds herself. On top of all of this, I wasn't given my regular medication the entire time I was in the hospital. My daily maintenance medication that my doctor prescribed was not given to me even though I asked for it multiple time. These are medications that should not be missed. I could go on and on about the appalling treatment in this hospital, but I'll spare the book long review. I won't go back to this hospital. Lord help anyone who is seen in this horrid place.

My wife and I had our little baby boy here on the 21st! He came 2 days before my wife was 37 weeks. The doctor who delivered him Dr. Seilhamer and her assistants were amazing and kept encouraging my wife through the whole thing even tho it was 3am. After being born my son did have a few problems with blood sugar, body temp, and eating which sent him to the NICU. Out of all the nurses there Chelsea, Abigail, Kim, and Dawn were the most amazing nurses we could have asked for! Very well at communicating anything that was happening, very carring, and round about good and kind people. I wish I could give them a higher rating for what they do and how they handled everything.

This hospital never fails to disappoint. My husband was admitted after having two seizures, one was in their ER. He’s never had a seizure and they came out of the blue. When he started to recover and was able to speak, he complained of pain in his jaw. He thought he’d damaged a tooth. We mentioned it several times and I asked the nurse if it was possible to have someone take a look. I was told that they weren’t going to worry about it because they were busy trying to find out what had caused the seizures. Having been told that seizures could be the result of an infection, I then asked if it could become infected if it’s a dental issue and the nurse replied “oh yes” like it could indeed be a serious development. The pain got worse, we mentioned it several times, nurses and doctors looked in his mouth but brushed it off. There was no mention of X-rays or any attempt to determine where the pain was coming from. Meantime they take a urine sample to see if he could have a UTI which could cause the seizures. When I asked what the result of the test was, the nurse looked and said that no urine test had been ordered…so why did someone take a urine sample? They next time I asked I was told that they lost the sample and would need another sample. On the second day, a neurologist breezes into the room saying that he saw no abnormalities in the EEG and no explanation why the seizures happened and he said he could see no reason why he couldn’t come home and so he was discharging my husband. So we went home. The next day my husband was looking at the EEG results on MyChart and they said that there were abnormalities detected. So that was never discussed with us and my husband has been in significant pain because of his jaw. Because of their lack of concern, we assumed it must be muscular. Now it’s two weeks later and he’s still in significant pain. My husband had a dentist appointment today they were able to confirm by comparing to an older X-ray that he has a fracture in his jaw. When he was in St. Elizabeth, he was in their neuroscience ward so I would think that they see seizure related injuries somewhat often yet no one persued the possibility that there could be damage as a result of the seizure. If I had a chance to do it over, I would have insisted that the ambulance take him to Christ. And to think that St. E has blocked Christ from building a facility in N. Ky. My family has given them multiple chance over the years and they have yet to provide adequate care. N. Ky deserves better.

My mother was in the hospital for 4 days and her potassium was high. Without finding out the cause of it being high they sent her home once it was normal. She was back in the ER 3 days later with it even higher than before and sent her home after 1 bag of fluid. A CT scan was ran as it was ordered before she went to the ER and it showed that she was backed up with poop. She was sent home after 1 bag of fluid and her potassium went from 6.1 to 5.5 and they told her to continue taking Imodium for the diarrhea. 2 days later my mom went to work and almost past out and an ambulance was called. It was requested this time to not go to St Elizabeth at all so they took my mom to Christ Hospital because her heart rate was 38 and her blood pressure was extremely low and her potassium was 6.5 Once she got to the ER her heart rate was 30. My mom almost died and had to have temporary dialysis for the damage that the potassium caused to her body. I do not recommend anyone going to St Elizabeth as their care is to put a bandaid on the patient and send them home with the opportunity of being brought right back!

I would like to thank all the staff at this wonderful hospital. I have no words to thank the nurses, doctors & social workers for the way they have treated my husband and me. We are going through very difficult times with my husband, he is very sick, but all these people who work at the hospital, they are compassionate, sweet, and very professional. My husband is a veteran who fought for our country with love & loyalty. But now he is being treated with love & dignity by all the hospital staff. For me this hospital is the best in every way. May God bless you all for your level of compassion Note: My husband's room is always clean. The truth is that the compassion, love, and understanding that they have shown us is impressive. Because in these difficult times where we have a loved one who is sick, it makes us feel heartbroken, as I have written, my husband is an Air Force veteran, working with the Department of State & Department of Defense his entire life. . And in this hospital they treat him with dignity, understanding & love.

Was literally just profiled walking in the door. Was told children are not allowed to enter the building at all. Not even in the cafeteria where my family just was, dealing with a major medical issue with one of our elders. I was threatened with security for absolutely no reason so I asked for a supervisor who held a full discussion about with her subordinate! I then witnessed 3 stroller aged children walk past the same attendant and she smiled asked no questions and allowed them to pass!

I took my fiance to st Elizabeth Edgewood by orders of her doctor because she had an extremely high blood pressure with dizziness, blurred vision and nausea. Well finally after an hour and a half they realized they hadn’t taken her vitals yet even but after that it was back to the waiting room we went. After 4 hours we were finally seen by a doctor. She was checked for a stroke (ct scan was after about 5 hours total, MRI was after about 9 hours). She was sent home after confirming she didn’t have a stroke. Had they gotten her blood pressure down? Absolutely not, not even close. If you’re going to create a healthcare monopoly in Northern Kentucky, at least be sure to provide adequate care.
