Jewish Hospital Review- 1 wish I could leave a zero star. My dear aunt who was 38 years old suffered a massive stroke and was air flighted from Anderson Mercy to Jewish. This was after begging the staff at Anderson Mercy to air care her to UC. They refused. (I personally believe it was for money) When we arrived at Jewish Hospital we were met with the most rude and indifferent staff. At 7:50 pm a neurosurgeon came out to talk to us. He was great. We were told that she had no chance of survival and would die. At 8 pm we were told we were not allowed to go back and see her because visiting times were over. (This is end of life - not visiting a sick loved one). Her own CHILDREN were not allowed to say goodbye. The next morning we were told no one was allowed to see her to say good bye. She coded at 9 am and passed away. Her own children did not get to say Goodbye to their mother. I have never in 20 years in the medical field seen people be treated with such cruel and merciless care. The nursing staff is the worst in the city. Save your self the heartache and make sure your loved one goes to University of Cincinnati Medical Center or The Christ Hospital. I can promise you they will be met with compassion and empathy from every employee. when we ask if family could go in and say goodbye, since it was end of life, we were told, “Well, she’s not dead yet.” The Hamilton County Sheriff’s were called to escort us off the ICU floor (the police were very polite and seemed completely dumbfounded by the nurse’s attitudes). The police suggested that we go downstairs and wait in the chapel as a family. We all did and sat there a prayed, shared funny stories, etc. It was a great moment during a horrible time. Around 9:30, Vicki’s elderly mother decide to go upstairs to say goodbye before she went home for the night. She was met with the same rude nurses that told her she wasn’t suppose to be there and needed to leave. She refused, said goodbye for 15mins or so and then came back downstairs and left. As she was leaving, the same Hamilton County Sheriff’s met us in the chapel and advised that he was instructed to remove us from the premises because some “snuck back upstairs.” We asked to speak with the individual in charge. She came down but told us that she had told us to leave earlier and never said we could stay in the chapel. When we tried to explain the situation, the police said, “You all need to leave before we call squad cars.” We told them that we would be back at 8AM for normal visiting hours. The next morning, we were told that No One was allowed to visit due to what happened the night before. They said they would make an exception for Vicki’s 3 kids to see her, but she coded and passed by 9:15. When the family was finally allowed to say goodby, after she had passed, the last individual in the family to see her was told that his time was up and he needed to be done and leave. For a family that does/has worked at 4 of the main hospital networks in the Greater Cincinnati area, the attitude and complete lack of empathy that was shown by Mercy-Jewish was absolutely unacceptable. While other hospitals would be offering Angel Carts, we were met with people trying to harvest her organs and the threat of arrest.

This hospital is terrible they no help they had me waiting for over a hour and a half kept telling us they was cleaning the room my fiancé said it in the lobby for over a hour and a half throwing up why they did nothing. And she’s a diabetic. Then when they put us in a room it still had urine in the cuts from other people blood still on the floor. I really couldn’t believe it. It was so upsetting then on top of that the nurses was so rude and had no care UC better then this hospital and I don’t really care for that hospital but it’s sad the way they do people

Last month I went to the outpatient pulmonary for testing. From the start I was treated very kindly and respectfully. Each part of the test was explained so I understood what to expect the person was very patient and knowledgeable. It was a very good experience and I would definitely come back to Jewish for any other treatment

They don’t deserve a single star. The nurses on neurosurgery and orthopedics don’t care. No follow through. Didn’t wash my family member, change her dirty gown or sheets for two days. No one helped her brush her teeth or her hair. She is confused. They have no empathy for anyone. They do not do hourly rounds and your lucky if they see you every 5-6 hours. The nurses are probably in their early 20’s and only care about their paycheck not the patient. This is a Covid free unit. They weren’t busy. There is no excuse for bad care or lack of kindness and empathy. The social worker did not talk to my family member, he sat under the TV and yelled at me. My family member is a person you should introduce yourself to that person. Mercy will never change and we will never come back to a Mercy Hospital

Arrived in E.R. on sunday around 1:15 p.m.. We were called back fairly quick to get my vitals checked, etc. Then told to wait in the waiting area for a room to be seen by the doctor. There were only a few people in the waiting area when we arrived. It was now going on 3 hours and still haven't been called back. Nobody came up to us and said anything about when we were up next to be seen. The waiting area was filling up and nobody was going anywhere. We left without ever being seen by a doctor. We definitely won't use Jewish hospital E.R. again.

My wife had a procedure there today. Said it started from the lady at the desk through the nurses that were unbelievably unfriendly and unprofessional. As I am reading through the reviews seems like it is pretty much a clean sweep just how bad this hospital is. My wife really likes her doctor, but will switch if she only deals with your hospital. You know the kind of nurses that know more about you after a few minutes than you know about yourself after over 60 years. My daughter asked them to check her mom’s sugar. The nurse said she already did with a real unprofessional tone, you know the condescending kind. She had been told before that my wife’s sugar drops very fast being a brittle diabetic. Well in a short amount of time my wife’s sugar had dropped over 20 points right before her procedure. So they would not take her back until they got a handle on her sugar. Imagine that, we knew more about how her sugar acts than this brilliant nurse. Anyway you can see how bad this hospital treats you and I would have given no stars, but figured it would not take.

Never coming here again !!!! Well we have been here twice, and honestly this has been two too many times. Worst experience. Do nothing but wait. First visit was a transfer from another hospital to get an MRI. Sat in the room for 16 hours waiting for them to do the MRI. Wasn't aloud to eat or drink anything "just in case " they needed to do emergency surgery. But if it was that urgent why wait so long for the MRI? Second time we come for a lumbar puncture. Scheduled appointment, arrived early. Sat in waiting room for two hours. Only for the nurse to come out and tell us someone took our room and we would need to wait longer for the room to be open again.

The emergency room is a disaster. They don’t do triage and i almost die of appendicitis and because i am decent and i was not screaming and crying of pain they made me wait for 3 hrs, while other people with minor issues were taken care of. When they admitted me the surgeon did not want to come to see me until the next day. This hospital is a disaster. i am a physician and i was treated like this, i can’t imagine the general public what kid of service they receive.

I wouldn’t come back to the emergency department if my life depended on it! I checked in yesterday at 4:00 pm I didn’t get called back to a room until 10:40pm and didn’t get discharged until 1:30 am. The staff are rude as hell. Around 8 pm my boyfriend and I start asking the registration staff how long the wait was because people who were coming in way after me were being seen before us, the moment we spoke up the staff started getting besides them self. They came from the back being rude. They didn’t let him come to a room a with me but every other family and couple were allowed with each other. They joked about the severeness of my pain. They switched my gender from female to male in my profile. They had me wait hours and hours just to give me no explanation or help for my pain. We said that we we’re going to call corporate because we were being wrongly mistreated and a nurse really had the audacity to say she didn’t care do it . ( Ms.Senay). That was my first and last time ever going to Jewish. Those staff clearly need a professionalism refresher class.

I cannot believe the amount of negative reviews here. I was so hesitant to come here because of it, but glad that I ended up here. I was immediately seen. I was treated with compassion and respect. Every single staff member I have been in contact with here has been wonderful. I was so embarrassed to come in. I hurt my back changing the trash.... Literally, who does that!?? Anyway, great staff. Nurse was kind and gentle when administering a shot. The doctor was very reassuring and kind when I expressed being embarrassed by having to come in for something so insignificant. It was just a good experience. It's a little lonely sitting here without company but that is thanks to covid and no fault of the hospital. I certainly won't hesitate to come back if I need quality care close to home.

From the instant I was brought in to the ER It was slow and there were a group of employees distracted , laughing chatting partying at the very front desk. They were all young kids. They had terrible inattentive unfriendly disrespectful demeanors all of them not looking at me as they wheeled me back . I was there for an entire day with out a wrist band to identify me. no one from triage ever reviewed my prescriptions, conditions. They ordered meds w/0 review from 2015 it’s now 2022 some if the meds I was allergic to and several were changed Urine from another patient sat in my room in a portable pan by the sink I saw it when I entered they insisted it was mine when I told them I needed to go to the bathroom and no one was aware I had not urinated all day and night a nurse went and got a wristband eventually The doctor was horrible. Just horrible. My blood sugars were out of control and he refused to increase my insulin. He could not manage my blood sugars I am diabetic An aide told me he did this to her mother left her for 5 hours with blood sugar of 700 None of my meds ever came from the pharmacy. The staff was dismissive of my 400-500 blood sugar which was off the chart for me A nurse was able to finally get me insulin very late , my husband went home and brought me my other meds because I need to prevent getting Angioedema. No one ever checked current medications, or health condition . They ordered off a record in computer from 2015 w/0 review. Released me with high blood sugar no insulin no food no plan and yold me yo call my own dr it was night time .

I had a Cardiac Stress test at Jewish last week and it was a terrible experience! First of all, the entire facility is dirty, run down and in desperate need of remodeling. But worse than that, their staff is incompetent and their equipment is old and obsolete. The tech performing the test didn't even know how to take my blood pressure. She put the cuff on my lower arm (below the elbow) to take it and then told me I had high BP (215/110). I told her that I never had high BP in my life and to take it again the right way this time and in the right place. She did and it was (110/65), HUGE difference there!! Then, she proceeded with trying to hook me up to the machine. When she turned the machine on, she couldn't get it to work and had to go get someone else. The second person moved a couple of the patches around on my body and tried it and it still didn't work! They had to go get a third person to come in and re-hook me up. I'm not sure if it was the equipment malfunctioning, or if all three of the techs were as incompetent as the first one. I left feeling not at all convinced that the test was performed correctly or that the results would be accurate. That wasn't reassuring given that I've been having chest pain and that the test was important! I was so mad when I finished testing, I went to their administrative suite to talk to a patient advocate. I asked her NOT to submit the test to my insurance company and told her that I wanted to have it redone at another location that I could trust. She said she was going to research this and get back with the the next day. It's been 5 days now and NO ONE has called. And, I just checked today, they did bill my insurance, so now I can't have it redone someplace else. I would not recommend them to ANYONE, EVER!!! Having worked in healthcare for 30+ years myself, my advice would be go ANYWHERE BUT THERE and I will be spreading the word!

Went in for neck and spine surgery. The problem I had was when I got to my room on the Fifth floor. The case manager, a male, began informing the nurses of the new patients. He stated my personal information and then began telling the others that I am a drug seeker and people like me go from doctor to doctor and hospitals trying to get drugs. He sent one girl in to look at my elbows and ankles for sores from using drugs. I was stunned and didn’t want to say how much pain I was in. One nurse said that with all my physical problems she didn’t think I was there for drugs. He said fine, then you can have her. She was so nice but I was very distrusting and felt judged. I have left 3 messages for the patient advocate without a response.

I have mixed emotions about this place because when I recently had surgery it was a pleasant experience and both my ENT and PCP is through Mercy Health and they are AMAZING!!!!! However, the emergency room staff. (Especially one nurse in particular) is horrendous. I have never been treated like such a lowlife ever in my life. I’ve tried multiple times to give this ER a chance considering it’s close to my home but I will never go there again!!! Just for insight on what goes on there. It’s always dirty. I was given a blanket with blood on it that smelled of puke… yuck. Then when I stated that I was given a certain medication and I had a bad reaction the nurse told me I was lying and said it wasn’t in my chart! Ok well I have no reason to lie about taking a pill for stomach upset. Then to add salt to the injury the same nurse came back and asked if I had any other reactions to other pain medication. I told her yes… she sighed, rolled her eyes and said well that’s all you’re going to get. After that I asked to speak to the Dr. To explain the situation. I then waited 3 hours to speak to the Dr. Just to find out that the nurse said I refused treatment and that I wished to leave. It really breaks my heart because when you go into the ER you are supposed to feel safe and well taken care of. I felt like I was being punished for being in pain. If you have access to another ER go there instead. Don’t waste your time here.

Our family member was brought to TJH per Air care from Mercy West, following a diagnosis of a brain hemorrhage. Our family member and the family received the best possible care. From the ER to the ICU staff. Everyone was polite, helpful and knowledgeable. In just a few overwhelming days we have been touched by the kindness of the employees at the Jewish Hospital. The night shift security guard not only gave us directions but graciously walked us to where we needed to go. The residents, physicians and Neuro nurse practitioner took their time to explain what was happening with patience and compassion. The unit clerk who opened the ICU door to let us in always greeted us with a smile and a hello. The ICU nurses we interacted with were experienced, compassionate and easy to talk to. The RN Case Manager and Hospice of Cincinnati RN were so supportive and helpful to us- there are no words to express our gratitude. The one improvement that we believe is needed is better signage. The present signs are minimal to say the least and made of such neutral color , they do not stand out. Thank you again for the excellent care!

MVD SURGERY 2/5/24-2/6/24 This is a well deserved positive review for not only my surgeon, Dr Vincent DeNapoli, his assistant Angela Kramig, PA, and the entire surgical staff, but for the wonderful staff at Jewish Hospital. The pre-op nursing staff were absolutely wonderful! I’m sorry I didn’t get their names. The anesthesiologist, Dr Stewart, I have to special mention because he actually listened to me, and without a hint is arrogance! I historically have an issue with extreme nausea after surgery. He suggested some new anti nausea meds that actually worked! Absolute zero nausea! Thank you Dr Stewart! What little I remember of the surgical staff before going to lala land was very positive. During recovery in ICU I was introduced to one of the very best nurses I have ever met; Stephanie Pitt. Her knowledge and bedside manner are second to none. She is a fabulous teacher as I saw her in action with the nursing students. She is also a wonderful human being! My night nurse was Wilaysia White. She was absolutely wonderful, and I was so surprised to find out she was a new nurse! She treated me like she was a well seasoned nurse; extremely knowledgeable and very very nice! Prior to shift change, I had the absolute pleasure of having an IV started by Beth with the use of the venous ultrasound! As a former phlebotomist and EMT, this was a thrill! It was also her first IV after receiving her certification! She showed me how it worked every step of the way and succeeded with a perfect IV! So cool! Then came Sami, and her nursing student Anna! Superb care continued! Sami is not only a very knowledgeable and good nurse, she’s so wonderful with patients, and a very good teacher! Prior to discharge, I also have visits from Andrea, a neuro NP, and Halie, the physical therapist. These ladies were just as knowledgeable and wonderful as all the other staff. Not only do I very highly recommend Dr DeNapoli and staff from Mayfield Brain and Spine, but also Jewish Hospital for the superb care I received.

Worst hospital experience I ever had at mercy kenwood I went in with a severe headache and my blood pressure was 187/114, it took forever just to have it checked when I got there I sat in the waiting area for close to an hour by the time they checked it it had gone up to 195/117! After I finally got put in an emergency room room I felt even worse they took blood and urine told me everything was normal and had me sit there freezing, I asked for a blanket three times and never got one, next thing I know they gave me Tylenol and told me I was free to go after I told them I still had a headache and my bp was still high at 170/104, a dr came in and said he talked to his colleague and I can go even though I could barely lift my head off the pillow, next thing I know the nurse came in with discharge papers and said you can go and take Tylenol and follow up with my primary care doctor, just terrible I’ll never go there again

My son was attacked and robbed last week and was taken by ambulance to this ridiculous example a "hospital". He was seen by their ER but when done being treated, was waiting for a ride home. His phone and shoes had been stolen but the ER said he had to leave. When he resisted this request because his ride was on the way to pick him up (also he had no phone and no shoes). The ER staff called police who ended up arresting him for trespassing....... Sad.....do better people.

This hospital definately deserves zero stars. I had alot to go wrong and didn't write a public review, but, today was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I went there for spinal surgery Jan 2023. As for the nursing team I have mixed reviews...one male RN in recovery was excellent as was a female RN in the Intensive Care Rehabilitation Department after my surgery. The bad parts... I woke up on the operating table during surgery thanks to their Anesthesia team. They wanted all thier pay. In recovery, I fell when they got me up the day after surgery due to leg weakness, PA aides were assisting me. I passed out 2 times because I was being treated for high blood pressure because nurses were using the wrong size BP cuff and taking my BP on my lower arm. I recieve a bill in September saying I owed a doctor at the hospital about $1,400, this doctor care for me after my surgery. She was a good doctor but not a part of my surgery team. In the bill I was told I was overdue and to pay it, BUT, as it turned out, they'd been submitting the bill to the wrong insurance account number! So, I gave them the correct number and asked them to submit the bill now. I've reached my deductible and I've paid all my out-of-pocket costs, their bill will be paid! A slam dunk right? Today, November 17, 2023, I get a collection notice from Paragon Revenue Group for $94 of which I knew nothing about. I havent received any additional bills or emails since September, just a collection notice today!? I called the collection's agency and ask about this notice and the rep assumed I'd been skipping and need to pay!? I tried to explain I knew nothing about the balance and I was told I was sent a bill and I knew! The rep's assumption was insulting! Now, I pay all my bills and have A1 credit, I was upset! I would've appreciated getting the small bill and being allowed to pay without Jewish Hospital sending it to a collection agency especially when it was late due to all their own billing mistakes! But sending it to a collections agency without sending me a bill for the remaining balance was too much. And trying to put a bad mark on my credit was just plain wrong. This expereince with this hopsital was poor. I never want to go back there, ever!!

I went today for a cardiac stress test. It was a better experience than I had the last time at Anderson Mercy. Samantha, Bethany, Nickea, and Don were fantastic. I highly recommend this testing department. They love their jobs and it shows!

Worse hospital experience i have ever had. Its a dump. Most of the staff are rude and uncaring. They act as if your bothering them and act as if you should bow down to them for the very little care they do give you. Took for ever for the nurses to respond when you call for them. The heart monitor and IV machine alarms will go off forever before they would come and reset them. Couldn't wait to get discharged. And even that took an hour and a half, I had to go and track her down to get the paperwork from her. Then she told me she would be right back with a wheelchair to take me out, after 20 minutes I just left on my own. What a joke. And they barely ever wear gloves even when they start to mess with your IV I had to say something about it constantly.

My Doctor is there. And I also worked there. It was the worst job I ever had in my entire life. They have incompetent employees work there. They go hide and sleep.Bad reputation. It's only going to get worse. They should close the place up. This stuff was in the rooms after they were cleaned.JCAHO violation.I only got few compliments about how good I did my job. Everybody else was bossy.

Emergency room is a joke! Sat there for over 2 hours with my mother who just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago with a stroke. Brought her back because she was feeling dizzy, nauseous and her blood pressure was 177 over 82. But for some reason a stuffy nose was considered more important than a stroke. The people checking in are rude! Now nurse banks is a sweet heart and once we got back the nurses who drew blood were as sweet as can be. Now i know its not easy dealing with a senior but come on show some respect.

The worse emergency department i went there because i had been experiencing lightheadedness. The first nurse that was supposed to stick me left after sending me to get a urine sample. The second nurse tried and was semi successful but hit a nerve and could only get a couple vials of blood, he stated he would get someone that could stick me. The third person comes in and tries unsuccessful and very painful she blew 2 veins and said she would get someone to do an ultrasound which was a lie. The fourth nurse comes in and i tell her im not a pin cushion because she was also trying to stick blindly so i left. Alyssa the PA calls anf said they found something concerning and that I needed to come back. When I returned I was told to sit and wait while everyone that arrived after me was seen. Now I know they are doing this intentionally so I left. They don't care about your health this is my first and last time going to this location so unprofessional and all the nurses need to go back to school. The ladies at front desk also need training they sat there talking about me you can see it obviously being done when they keep staring and giggling. The get these kids with no experience just to pay less. The cater to certain people and ignore others . This hospital would prefer you die before they assist you appropriately and nothing will be done or said to staff the services will just keep deteriorating.

I had a TURP surgery at Jewish Hospital. I found their staff to be very friendly and helpful. They made my stay there for two days as good as it could be. Nurses are very knowledgeable and provided a very good care of me. I am very thankful to my surgeon who selected Jewish Hospital for my surgery.

I was with a friend who was having surgery and a very rude woman made a scene in the family waiting room and the situation was handled terribly by both staff members who came in the room. The rude woman accused me, my son and friends husband as well as a grandmother and her 3 grandchildren of being disrespectful to everyone in the waiting room who were worried about their loved ones having serious surgeries. We were just chatting amongst ourselves but because we weren't whispering and she "could hear all our business" we said we all needed to leave the waiting room and move to the the cafeteria where we "could be as loud as we wanted" (we were not being loud at all) The grandmother in the other group got upset, rightly so, after being scolded like a child by the rude woman and the 2 women started raising their voices. A staff member from the surgery check in desk (who was somewhat rude to me when we checked in) came in and made the situation worse by threatening the poor grandmother with calling security on her. The staff member then loudly yells at another staff member who was walking through the waiting room to call security and the staff member yells back that she already called them. (No security ever showed up) One of the poor grandchildren ended up in tears and needed escorted out of the room by her brother so she could calm down, but yet nothing happened to the woman who started the drama in the first place. She was the one who needed security called on her and removed from the room. The staff here needs some training in professionalism and a serious attude adjustment. I will never visit this hospital again. I will urge all my family members and friends to request a different hospital for any future procedures.

A few times I went here I had excellent care...other times not so much. It depends on which ER doctor is available but the hospital space is very nice and clean! I had the best experience with Dr. Elizabeth Davis!!! I felt she really tried to get to the bottom of my problems and took me very seriously. She's like an angel. I'd give her alone 5 stars! I wish I could thank her for listening to me and restoring my faith in doctors again.

I wish I could give a 0 star also. Reading these reviews were nothing what we experienced and I feel horrible about these families. My father has been in the hospital for 5 days now. They will not let my mother stay with him and they have a couch that turns into a bed so she could have. Also the patients can't get food most of the time because they were either closed or they ran out , or they didn't get it out in time. What is going on? They can't just treat patients like that. It is so wrong.

I was hesitant to go to any of the close hospital’s ER departments because of all the bad reviews, but I had no choice this morning. The young man and the woman working the front desk were very kind. I was taken back to a room immediately after getting there. The nurse that I had, Lisa, was great. She kept me informed and made sure I had what I needed. Almost right after she left the room, the doctor, Doctor Adan, was in to examine me. He listened to my concerns and took them seriously. I have had my fair share of ER visits for both myself and family and Doctor Adan was easily the best ER doctor that I’ve ever come across. There was hardly anyone in the ER while I was there and everything I had done was done quickly minus the blood work which took time to get back, but I expected that. Overall, I’m glad that I chose to go to Jewish versus the other close ER.

I had a great experience here. I came for surgery, and all my doctors and nurses were extremely supportive and kind. One nurse especially was really awesome named Sasha. She made me laugh and smile though everything and even went out of her way to find a jewelry piece I lost. I am so grateful for my kind nurses.

The low star rating is for the nurse who was being rude to my sister for no reason. I understand that life happens to us all, but her rude behavior is nasty and unacceptable. The story: My sister is currently hospitalized at Jewish hospital and unfortunately I received text messages from her about how she is being poorly mistreated by her nurse, Jenny. I live miles away in Florida, but I stopped what I was doing to call the hospital. I spoke to the floor manager, Kelsey. She quickly jumped into action to help by switching my sisters nurse and providing her the necessary items needed in her room and apologizing for her behavior. My sister was so shook-up that she was willing to be transferred to another hospital. Which according to Kelsey, wasn’t a good idea because of her condition. I appreciate Kelsey for quickly resolving this matter.

Took a friend there on 3/18/22 at 7 am for a Colonoscopy. They took him back at 7:15 to get him ready and I was told they come and get me in about 45 minutes, after they got him ready. Everyone else in the waiting area at the time were Caucasian and I'm Black I noticed as time went on they were being called back, till the point it was pretty much empty. At about 8:30 I went to my car for the 2 - 2 1/2 hour wait, as the seats in the waiting are not very comfortable. I came back in and noticed the board now said that he was ready to go home, I asked at the check-in desk and she called back and was told 20 minutes, so, I then went to get the car. - at was another very long wait maybe 45 minutes. I won't recommend Jewish

I would give this hospital zero stars if I could. I was scheduled for surgery 11/2/2023. The surgery was cancelled and to date, 3 months later, I have not received a refund for my hospital stay. I have spoken to many employees during this time including patient relations. Looks like I will be needing legal representation!

Very unprofessional nurses, did not get a medication list from me in ER, was without my pills 3 total days, while 2 of 4 nurses had me write all my drug info and doses when i was admitted to a non er room all while cursing the er for failing. It's day 3 and I have only had 1 of my 4 prescriptions and they took my pillbox with my meds from me. Nothing was adequately explained by 2 of the 4 nurses post admittance. No one told us that covid visitor guidelines were still a thing and there were no overnights but somehow masks are not mandated in there. I have ptsd and this is not ok. Taking away my pills triggered me to crying non stop and then they tell me my husband cant stay.. they keep offering me sweets when im so inflamed its changing my blood ph. Urine on er private room bathroom floor entire bathroom dirty. Every nurse tells me different information. My day nurse is falling asleep standing up and hardly forming sentences.. I tried to tell myself they are just understaffed but honestly im in a lot of hospitals all the time for 20 years and this is hands down the worst experience i have ever had.

I have seen so many negative reviews lately and I just don't understand it. Every time I have utilized this hospital, I have had wonderful experiences. Today, I had an appointment for a CT Scan at 8am. I arrived 30 minutes early (as was requested). The receptionist was very friendly, as was every single employee I interacted with. The lab tech was polite, knowledgeable and efficient! I was in and out before my actual appointment time. Every area I was in was clean and bright. I would definitely go there again!

staff is nice worst hospital i ever seen. Meals show up when they want to bring it. My sisters lunch never showed up one day the day before i had to bed for her dinner. The doctors communication is very little even with nurses.... they dont get the feed back they need. Do not send your family here..... They are so understaffed its terriable. No bath since wednesday she still has blood in her nails since she got there wednesday morning.

Dr korelitz is the surgeon at the kenwood location, and he is absolutely amazing. So kind, professional, and knowledgeable. He had my wound healed in a month! I got a burn from heating pad that got infected so i wasted no time with family doctors, and made an appt. EVERYONE makes you feel so comfortable here. I was of course happy to be healed, but I am going to miss seeing him, and the staff.

The emergency department was satisfactory for the overall care. Extremely slow response to patient calling for help. ER staff was friendly and personable but lacked to energy to response to patient needs quickly. Waited over 9hrs after admission for a dr to explain condition, plan of treatment. Left family and patient waiting without eating in anticipation that the Dr would come soon. After many requests and 8hras of waiting, wasvtold Dr would come in the next 3-4 hrs. My mother is over 90yrs old and desired to be treated here, gotta find a place that at least appears to care. All the themes and mission statements sound great. But it's only words, no action. Don't expect compassion and timely treatment. ITS NOT HERE. BARE BONES REQUIRED CARE ONLY.

For a third night in a row I am sitting in a different unit at this hospital, struggling to breathe and feeling like I’m going to die alone in this hellscape. I’ve begged multiple times to go home and have been threatened with discontinued care and basically certain death if I should leave. They want to keep people here, but no one wants to actually show up and CARE for them.

My daughter has stayed here three different times on the fourth and fifth floor. She had received nothing but top care from everyone. I have to say they were proactive in providing the extra care and services needed before we even had to ask. Her comfort was their top priority. This comes from everyone one. Nursing staff, housekeeping, nutrition staff, transport staff. All went above and beyond with every stay. Her room was near the nurses station and I heard nothing but positive interaction between staff. We have been in many hospitals in this area and in other states and this one by far out shines them all.

We took my 72 year old mom to the Jewish Hospital ER yesterday with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, weakness & shortness of breath. They took her back quickly and were very accommodating to her needs. I relieved my sister about 1.5 hrs into the process and spent the day there, talking to nurses & doctors about her care and monitoring her myself! I was VERY impressed with every caregiver with whom we interacted. They were kind, compassionate, attentive and thorough. They did not dismiss any of our questions or concerns nor talk condescendingly or curtly as I have experienced at times in other ERs. Although the Nurse Practitioner, Nikki, had intended to send mom home to rest after administering confort meds & fluids, based on her initial blood work, CT scan & Urine panel, upon further review, observation, & input/questions from us she & the Internal medicine Dr. instead ordered more labs & decided it was best to keep her for observation and to be sure they were not missing anything. We are so grateful for their patient, thorough explanations of the process and placing mom's well being ahead of anything else. Nurse Coryn & Nurse Intern Nick were also very patient, helpful and accommodating. Since I had to leave before they moved her to a room in the evening, I also called the nurse on her floor at 1am to try to get some general information leading into this morning, and Nurse Tori was also extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful as she did her best to answer my questions. We are very pleased that Mom ended up at Jewish hospital. She was so anxious when she arrived that she didn't even want me leaving her side to step into the hallway with the door open to make a phone call, but by the time I left, she was completely at peace and comfortable thanks to her confidence in her caregivers! Thank you so much! Note: I'm not always an easy person to impress. While I try to be diligent to provide 5 star reviews to businesses that have earned it, I am also quick to give a lower rating if warranted. Every person with whom I interacted contributed to this 5 star review!

What this hospital is doing along with many others is ushering in socialism. Welcome to Biden's America. Gee, we're doing better than ever! 😡🙄 The worst is yet to come.

Had a pretty standard procedure done and it went very well! All of the nurses and docs were super nice and friendly, made me feel so much better. I wish I could remember all of the nurses names but they were very kind and I really appreciate that! Thank you

We had a short stay there in CCU with my mom. The entire staff worked hard to make mom comfortable, to answer all of our questions, to try and make our experience there as good as possible. We had amazing doctors and nurses. I wouldn’t hesitate in taking a loved one back there.

I had a great experience. Everyone was very positive and professional. Everything was meticulous. They checked on me quite often to make sure l was comfortable. I didn't eat but when my mother was there she loved the food. Guess it depends on your taste. I give them 5 stars

The worst hospital I have ever been to! I had a bacterial infection and was never prescribed any medication! It took 5 business days for my “MYChart” to be updated. I also waited 4 hours to be seen by the ER Doctor yet I was 1/3 people in the ER at the time. I called in to request information about my results & I was told to call back in during “day shift hours” once I asked for the time day shift starts Sara in the emergency room department refused to tell me the time. Stating “there’s too many departments to give out a time” & “day shift hours are during the day” WOW REALLY? Very snappy, rude, and non helpful. This is also the most disgusting facility I have ever visited. Blood from god knows where on the toilet seat and floors. Urine samples left out on the bathroom sink! My bed, remote, and side table were not wiped down until I’d mentioned it to staff. I also was seen by a male doctor who was very rough during the exam AFTER requesting a woman! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

My uncle had a stroke and was transferred to TJH for treatment. The staff on the 5th floor were amazing. His care team was actively involved, informative, supportive, and overall amazing in the care they gave to him and his family. He went to surgery and had to be in ICU for 24 hours, and that is the only complaint I have. He was minutes from PACU to the ICU room and still under the affects of anesthesia. He tapped the nurses shoulder, gently, while she had her back to him and she started yelling that she won't be hit and she will restrain him. We had to intervene as he was immediately right back to sleep and unaware of anything. If she’d do that in front of family members, what’s she doing while alone with patients? Her attitude remained unprofessional and arrogant but she walked on egg shells in our presence. She made comments about her big, muscular husband and how he handles men who touch her, while trying to intimidate my semi-conscious uncle who is 77 and 153 lbs and had just had a serious surgery and was at risk of a brain bleed and another stroke. Mind you, he was moderate to severely cognitively impaired by the stroke so he was functioning at a low level. She was reported to the physician and administrator. The rest of the floor, while understandable they don't want a close relationship with patients as they work a hard job dealing with those who may pass in their care, remained unkind and unfriendly. There was a lack of compassion and care from everyone we met in that 24 hours. No smiles, no greetings, just stern faced silent people. They didn't talk to anyone, explain anything, and ignored his request the next day when being asked for help to the use the bathroom. He was moved back to the 5th floor, and the care resumed to incredible. After a few days he was moved to the Acute Rehabilitation Unit and the staff was amazing there too. They were caring, attentive, personable, compassionate, and informative. You could truly see how they interacted with him and others, that they loved their jobs and wanted to see people heal and regain skills. Whatever is going on in the ICU needs managers from the ARU and 5th floor to direct and train them so they can be better at their level of care and compassion. I would recommended this facility to anyone with a neurology need but forewarn the ICU is cold in spirit.

Choose a different hospital if you can, was here with a family member and her care was awful. Not until we made management aware did she get attention from staff. Floor five is a joke when it comes to the charge nurse. Mallory was very unprofessional and with my experience in healthcare she should maybe reconsider her career choice. Never would I let her “care” for anyone I know. The reason I didn’t give one star is we had a nurse after the fact that was a ray of sunshine.
