Don't believe the hours of operation 10 AM-5 PM. It is 3:33 PM on a Friday, and they are closed. The Marksmman LLC range is worth coming to when it is open; that having been said, due to the lack of customer service, I do not recommend wasting your money becoming a member. When I spent $500 for a membership, they told me it basically could be used any day besides Monday as long as I made an appointment. I have tried twice since then to make an appointment with no response, and now they are closed during their normal hours of operation. Personally, I don't like driving out to a place that posts they are open and finding a locked gate; especially when there wasn't even a note out or a notice on their site to explain the closure. I called their number as well, but it went straight to voicemail.

Lots of different sections, all outdoor. They have regular bays, a tactical bay with steel you can shoot with pistols and a couple wooden frames to hang targets. 25y, 50, 100, 200y sections and now clay shooting. I wish there were more wooden targets in the tactical. I went for an hour and didn't get a chance to shoot offhand because 2 guys were shooting one at a time, but took both targets. Other sections you have to shoot from bench. I really like the steel setup they have. Staff is nice. I usually go every couple weeks and always enjoy it. Get to meet some nice people that also enjoy the hobby.

Best range in the B/CS area. Sections are clearly separated and the rules clearly posted by each section. They have pistol bays, steel target/25yd range, 50yd, 100yd, a carbine course, and they have been finishing up a skeet shooting area. It's a little pricey if you're only there for an hour but pretty standard if you spend 3-4 hours there with the 'all day' price. They did have issues with inconsistent hours and not answering the phone but that seems to have improved significantly over the past few months. They're also not picky about what ammo you can use and allow rapid fire at the 25yd area, as long as you prove competent enough to keep your sights on target. Don't know why people are complaining about the staff, the only time I've seen him yell is when someone is doing something stupid and/or reckless. I've been yelled at before myself and I don't fault the RO for doing their job.

First time visiting the range and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Cool outdoor range at an affordable price. The staffs there are also friendly and professional. I especially love the steel targets. Will definitely be back in the future.

This is a pointless range. Just take the drive to Ables for an actual good, safe range, or go to Champions for pistols. The staff is unfriendly and not professional. The layout does not make sense and there’s no one there to explain it. I think the staff still thinks they’re in Iraq and not the trailer park it’s actually in. There’s a small 100 yard range and some pistol ranges that are shorter. However, it does have a steel pistol range so it gets an extra star.

After a three trips out to the range and visiting with the staff for a little while each time I am very comfortable recommending them to any shooter. They have a healthy outlook on range safety. They are polite, friendly, and helpful. They don't time your visit in minutes, and you won't need hip waders to change targets. Maybe good boots, but they don't have to be rubber. Best outdoor range in Brazos Valley.

I used to like shooting here. The last two times I've tried to shoot during normal posted working hours, the gate was locked. There was no notice or anything posted at the gate. When I checked online, the Marksman website and Facebook were wiped. It appears to be a clay shooting club now that can be booked for events. The new website and Facebook page are vague. Do I need to make reservations? Can even shoot there if I'm not a member? What is the cost to shoot now? The hours posted on Google maps says it should be open but it says "closed". With the price of gas I can't be wasting time driving out to a range that doesn't really seem like it wants people to shoot there. With this apparently being a clays club, Gunsmoke closed down, and no shooting in the Sam Houston Forest, it seems like reasonable shooting is dead or dying fast in the Brazos Valley for regular people. My options are static handgun shooting without any holster drawing on Saturdays with everyone else at Champion, drive an hour+ our of town to get stuck in traffic shooting with Houstonites, or pay $40-50 at CCC when they aren't having a competition. It is sad when the allegedly most conservative part of Texas has less opportunities for shooting than the anti-gun cities of Houston, Austin, and DFW.

Made my first trip there today and was impressed with the helpful staff and the amount of different lanes (and options for targets) offered. For those of us who used to go to gunsmoke and are looking for a new outdoor range... I highly recommend this one!
