This place looks unassuming from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food. It is comparable to some of the Michelin rated restaurant we have visited. The rabbit-rattlesnake sausage, kangaroos carpaccio, blue corn lobster hush puppies and the BBQ duck spring rolls from the first course are delicious . The Texas chili is beefy and flavorful. The beef tenderloin and Rocky Mountain Elk loin are so tender and irresistible. The Chef Special Pork Jowl is better than bacon, it melts as you bite in. We tried warm ancho Chile chocolate cake is so-so, dense, heavy, and taste more like fudge than light. The restaurant is dark and intimate, tables are close together so when groups of people dine in, it can be quite loud. But the food is Good.

Amazing place. Interesting game offerings. Everything was done to taste. Excellent from start to finish. Check out Fort Worth's version of the River Walk off the back patio past the fire pit.

It takes a lot for me to want to write a detailed experience here on Google. Lonesome Dove not only has the best Southwest Cuisine I've had, it's the best food in Fort Worth as well. Each dish was packed with flavors you may be accustomed to but chef Tim Love took it to the next level. On top of that he actually was in the restaurant last night and was the one asking for feedback. This is so impressive considering he has so much fame and has time to still work the floor with his team, I have so much more respect for him at this point. If you have been considering coming to Lonesome Dove, stop thinking about it and just swing in, it's amazing

Fabulous way to end a day in Fort Worth! Our server Laura was professional and oh so friendly, and the meal was perfect. We all enjoyed the variety of Southwestern flavors that Chef Love shares with his guests. I would have eaten a whole platter of the Smoked Crab Enchilada starter by myself, and the Ancho Chile Chocolate Cake and Churros for dessert were one of the best endings to a meal we’ve had in awhile. When I say we were drinking the leftover caramel and raspberry sauces on spoons, you know it’s good and we didn’t want it to end!

First thing, this place doesn't look like one of those awesome dining experiences you would expect when you see it from the outside, but that assumption would be wrong. This is an outstanding restaurant if you are near the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Wonderfully varied menu. Cocktails are top notch. Also, we were truly amazed with how well the bartender (sorry, I forgot his name) managed all the people at the bar, his bartender tasks for the waitstaff, and keeping his cool under pressure.

We have heard about Lonesome Dove for many years and decided to give it a try on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my 45 birthday. I’m not one to try new flavors but had always heard that I needed to just trust I would love it - and I did. From rattlesnake sausage to elk for the main dish - all the flavors were were unique and amazing! I cannot wait to go back and try more items from the menu.

For the prices charged, we expected more. Food was average, service good though. Scary incident: A roach landed on my shoulder, yes, it picked me. Friend sitting next to me jumped and screamed which drew staff attention. Management somewhat apologized and said it's just a water bug, oh well.

Lonesome Dove is probably the best steakhouse in Fort Worth. The quality of food here is so good. The Elk sliders is my favorite appetizer. The flavor was to die for… I would say the rabbit rattlesnake sausage was a close second. I enjoyed the kangaroo nachos but I wish there was more of them!! I want a whole plate of these things.. You absolutely can not go wrong with the stuffed tenderloin. This steak is so tender, your knife will literally slide right through it. That roasted garlic butter stuffed in the middle elevates this steak to another level. My friend ordered the chili rubbed Lamb chops, with avocado salsa. Okay this one I would say is my absolute favorite dish I tried tonight. The next time we visit I am ordering the lamb. This dish is unique and that lamb was so tasty.. trust me you don’t want to miss out on this one. Get some Brussel sprouts on the side! The bacon they put in them is so good. For dessert, the ancho chile chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. It is rich and the perfect amount of sweet to finish off the night. Enjoy!!!

Can’t go wrong with a Tim Love restaurant and menu choices. Chicken Fried Steak did not disappoint this time. Everything our party had was great. Elk sliders and rib apps, and Butter lettuce salad were delicious. Highly recommended if looking for nice night out.

Absolutely fantastic. Our host Adam was amazing, he walked us through all 3 courses and made sure we were properly taken care of. He even walked us outside to take these amazing 2 yr anniversary photos for us. They turned out wonderful. Thank you Adam! Now, onto food. AMAZING!!! Perfect medium rare steak. Perfect potatoes. Mushrooms were to die for. Honestly, I can’t say anything bad! The best part… the chocolate cake! Soft and delicious.

My wife and I eat here every year for our anniversary. My recommendation, rattlesnake sausage, kangaroo nachos, rocky mountain elk steak and anything on the dessert menu. Also, an incredible wine selection. Even though it's hot. Don't pass up the patio. They do a great job keeping it cool.

Holy cow! This place is fantastic! We went for my husbands birthday and we were blown away. The service was fantastic - shout out to Adam! The food was great - my husband is an avid hunter so he loved all the different meat they had. I’m a major foodie and loved how they had a great twist on everything. Cocktails were fantastic as well. Will definitely go back for our next special occasion!

Definitely one of the best steakhouses in all of the DFW metroplex. Not only is this place right in the center of the stockyards area, to already give it a sense of authenticity, the food itself is amazing. We started with the Kangaroo Nachos which immediately set the mood that this was about to be an amazing meal. Although we set at the bar, it’s a full service bar so it was still amazing. The bartenders were amazing with their drinks and their suggestions on the menu. This place is a solid 5 full stars and I suggest you go here for any occasion if you’re looking for a top tier steakhouse.

Great atmosphere, brings you back to the stockyard days. The steaks were great and done very well. Bison steak was quite expensive though, at $91 each. Go for the rabbit-rattlesnake sausages. It’s not too gamey and tasty. Sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and put on quite a show with his cocktail mixing. Great times overall.

First of all, Bartender Doug was freaking AMAZING!!! I was with 2 friend and we all got the Chef's special which was a filet with crab stuffed shrimp with a Cajun sauce and a truffle butter on top all on a bed of mashed potatoes. I thought it was absolutely amazing. My friends did not think so at all, so I had to bring my 5-star down to a 4 because of this. One said their steak was hard to cut and the other just flat out didn't like it. We all got medium. My steak was absolutely perfect. The mashed potatoes were very good and the steak was amazing. We also got a sampler appetizer with Kangaroo nachos and elk sliders which were absolutely delicious! The slider meat has a nice crust on the meat and was a Hawaiian type sweet bun. We also had the brussel sprouts which were amazing! They were well charred and had a little sweetness to them. The bone marrow was DELICIOUS, I highly recommend it! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for high end food and drinks!

Arguably the best meal I have ever had in my life! The service was outstanding and the food was incredible. We were able to side outside by the little river under the patio lights, it was a great experience and honestly worth the trip to Fort Worth by itself.

Ambiance was nice. Wish I would have known to dress better or get reservations.. but we sat at the bar. Food was excellent.. and the bar tender that was serving us was also for lack of a better term, "on point" Steaks we cooks to order.. or maybe just a little under.. but that was fixed real quick and brought back out.. Chili was good.. and the rattlesnake & rabbit sausages are a must order..

Fabulous lunch from Lonesome Dove. Our server Stevhan was amazing. We started with the crudo and the rabbit rattlesnake sausage. Highly recommend both. We got the prime rib sandwich and the frido octopus (noodles). Both were delicious. Lastly the churros were to die for!! The house made sauces especially the raspberry sauce was in my top 5 foods for Fort Worth it was that good. Definitely check out Lonesome Dove, you won’t be disappointed in their great food and awesome service.

Fantastic service. Our waiter was Stephen he explained everything and took care of of us so nicely. We had the elk sliders, garlic stuffed tenderloin cooked and seasoned so well with beautiful presentation, and chile rub lamb chops perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce and ended with a new york cheese cake with berries. We were given champagne for our anniversary it was a wonderful surprise.

Like some of the other reviews mentioned you would never assume judging from the outside that this was a great restaurant but as I say you can't judge a book by its cover. Everything from the menu, food, drinks, and service was top notch. Go here with confidence.

WE HAD THE BEST MEAL/TIME EVER!! Conner was our waiter, he was incredible. We enjoyed every single item we got from the rattlesnake sausage, kangaroo, elk tenderloin, elk sliders, chili, chocolate dessert, rabbit ravioli it was all incredible.

Great food, great experience. However, be prepared to be smoked almost as much as the protein and to be drowned in noise. It has a very loud atmosphere and a constant haze of smoke throughout the evening. The food was excellent. I recommend the kangaroo nacho and the wild boar ribs. My wife had rabbit ravioli that was tasty, but just a little bit too salty. I had the bison, and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. The LD mac&cheese was super rich and flavorful and the Brussel sprouts were caramelized to perfection and the best I've had in a while. The staff was super friendly and attentive, but they did forget to bring our drinks. All in all, it was a great dinner. I will bring the rest of the family next time to share in the experience with us.

New Year’s Eve Dinner was a bit underwhelming. We started with the lobster hushpuppies, which were tasty. The beet salad lacked beets and other toppings. It was mostly spinach. The fries were good but most of them were nubs. The redfish was very spicy. It was packed with jalapeño’s, which was unexpected. The presentation was nice. The lamb was ok. I had high hopes for this place. Maybe I should have ordered something more exotic. Our server was nice and the service was good.

Amazing experience! The food was incredible, and the staff was delightful. Stephen was our server, and he did an excellent job of explaining the menu before we ordered, and he was very attentive the whole time. And the FOOD! Wow! I loved all of the unique appetizers. On the menu the prices that are shown are for "three" of that item, and I loved that you could order just "one" of them. I tried the rabbit/rattlesnake sausage, the wild boar ribs, and the elk slider. The elk slider was by far my favorite, and I couldve just gotten 6 of those for my meal. But alas, there was a filet mignon that needed my attention. Beautifully cooked and presented. I would definitely recommend this to everyone, especially if you're looking for a fine dining spot to bring some out-of-state folks to!

We have been coming here for special occasions and bringing friends here for years, always receiving great food and great service. However, on Saturday, February 19, we came for a belated Valentine's dinner and were extremely disappointed. Drove 2 hours one-way to get there. First, our drink order came at least 10 minutes after our appetizer arrived. Second, after specifically telling the waiter I wanted my steak cooked medium well, it arrived medium - just like my husband's steak. Third, the steaks and mac and cheese were not very hot - only lukewarm. Fourth, we had to ask another waiter for the horseradish that my husband had ordered along with his steak. The waiter was slow and didn't seem to care that the drinks were delivered so late, etc. This is not the type of service and food we expect for a tab over $200. Needless to say, we'll go to Houston the next time we want a special steak dinner. Have had some excellent experiences at several steak restaurants there! Lonesome Dove has certainly slipped. Too bad!

My husband I went here during our staycation honeymoon at Hotel Drover and it was an easy walk in the stockyards. We could not have chosen a better dinner for our final night of our honeymoon. Every dish is incredible and made from scratch (except King's Hawaiian rolls on the elk sliders). Our waiter, Stevhan, was so great and informative. We felt celebrated the entire night and received complimentary churros. My husband is a big steak guy, and he said the Bison steak was the best steak he has ever had by far. It was so romantic and we are excited to come back for more celebrations!

My husband and I had dinner for our anniversary this past Friday. The food was phenomenal. I highly suggest the Kangaroo Nachos. They were out of this world. Cedric was our waiter and he was extremely attentive and thorough. He even brought us a sparkler with some champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We have been looking for years to find a restaurant like one that we loved back in Illinois and we are super happy we have one close to home now. We will be back many times!

This is a 5 star restaurant in the Fort Worth Stockyards on N Main Street. It doesn't really stand out among the old west rustic of the Stockyards. There is valet parking. The front of the business is a full service western bar. There are maybe 20 smaller 4 person tables. The back area is much larger with more & larger tables. There is a section that can be more open air. Reservations are probably advised. The menu is unique & varied. As exotic as elk meat to a standard chicken fried steak. 1st course is $13-$15, 2nd course $10-$15, main course $25-$50. Mixed drinks & wines by glass & bottle. Waitstaff is very helpful, pleasant & efficient (my waiter was Chris). The menu is first class. My visit was on New Year Eve. Would highly recommend.

Absolute favorite restaurant in DFW. Been to this location and the location in Austin both many times, but LOVE the ambiance of this one! Every single dish on the menu is delicious, and the staff make sure to give you a great experience throughout the whole multi-course meal. Rabbit rattlesnake sausage and elk foie gras sliders are to die for, lobster hush puppies are incredible, and any of the bison or elk mains are so tasty. Been many times, will be back again, and always recommend others to come in and enjoy!

My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary here. We had a wonderful server who explained all the menu options and made suggestions. We started with the Fettine Trio. It was very good, but I would skip on future visits. Simply put, it's like lunch meat on a platter and not my style. For the first course, we had the blue crabs & wild boar ribs. The crab cakes with LD hot sauce were very tasty. The boar ribs fell off the bone and were very tender. Both of these dishes were amazing! For our main course, we ordered the tenderloin & waygu strip. Both were delicious cuts of beef. The sides are where the restaurant really shined. The burnt carrots are one of the best side dishes I have ever had. The LD Mac & Cheese was my wife's favorite. It had the perfect amount of truffle flavoring. The other one we had was the crispy Brussels. They were crunchy with large chunks of bacon and excellent seasoning. I want to go back and order all of the sides. Overall amazing experience and some of the best/if not the best food you can eat in Fort Worth.

The food was amazing. Elk sliders and the elk steak was perfect. Joe was phenomenal serving us and it was nice that Adam checked in a few times on our table. Try the churros for dessert!

Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! We came with friends on Friday before the rodeo, who were visiting us from Germany. From the very beginning, the manager, Richard, greeted us warmly and sat us at our table. Our waitress, Laura & our server, Steven, were very personable and helped us make some great choices for our appetizers: rabbit-rattlesnake sausage and elk sliders. We tried a local beer from Wild Acre Brewing Company that was really good! While we were enjoying our appetizers, the host, Adam, came by to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. My husband & I then split the Butter lettuce salad and the chicken fried steak. We did not have any room for dessert lol. We will be coming back again! I highly recommend this restaurant when you are visiting the Stockyards. Make sure you have reservations since they are booked out solid on the weekends!

This is a really nostalgic place. The food is served in courses. They had a great mix of flavors. The plating is really nice. Bring your wallet! They also have a nice wine selection.

Very unique menu that you will not find anywhere else. This meal was exceptional and I would recommend everything but the cornbread. Do not skip the appetizers (see photos). The wine and cocktail list was also great! The dining room is small, and very loud. Our waitress was shouting and we could still barely hear her. It was also very smoky inside from the meat, it left me with a headache. Overall, this is definitely a “special occasion” restaurant option since it was one of the most expensive meals we’ve ever had.

  • 5/5 Brian C. 1 year ago on Google
Wonderful dinner. The burnt carrots were awesome. Elk and lamb both were delicious. The dessert special was also delicious. Highly recommend for special occasion. Great wine list. Oscar was a fine server and took great care to ensure we enjoyed it. Great memories

We had the most amazing dinner last night. 10 out of 10. Adam our, server, did an outstanding job navigating us through the menu and was always attentive. This is a must try for anyone visiting the Ft. worth Stockyards and we will be back soon. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you, what lies inside is beyond divine. One of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time! One of our top 10 restaurants of all time.

  • 4/5 Cara P. 2 years ago on Google
Great food and service BUT…. The front of the restaurant is uncomfortably cold. The A/C is very imbalanced here. Everyone around us was shivering. We ask our server to turn down the air, she was very accommodating and talked to the manager and they did and it became much more comfortable. However, it went back on before our meal was finished and we could instantly feel the air blowing on us and so could everyone else as we were all looking at one another, hugging ourselves with arms crossed to keep warm. Recommendation is to request table back toward kitchen or in adjacent room from the bar. All that said, outstanding food!! And hey Tim, figure out your A/C!!

  • 2/5 Patricia S. 2 years ago on Google
Sat at the bar since there were no open reservations. Kangaroo nachos were served on stale blue corn tortilla chips. Apparently the avocado salsa and Habanero-fig Demi glacé were two tiny dots on top. (See photos). I paid $12 for two. Elk Sliders were tasty. I would eat those again. Elk tenderloin was delicious and well-plated. I ordered the redfish, which came out still in the baking parchment and the server acted like it was an event to unwrap it and pour olive oil and parsley over it. The vegetables were over cooked. The size of the fish was small and hidden by the parchment paper. I still can’t believe this presentation. The Mac and cheese is apparently a long grain risotto. No idea what the breaded things on top are. Disappointing to say the least. The quality and presentation of the food is inconsistent and disappointing. No hard feelings here, but we were not impressed will not return.
