Very nice waiter.. i had the veggie enchiladas and couldn't get enough. My husband had the chicken fajitas and it was too much for even him. The free salsa and chips are endless and awesome. And the waiter we had was really amazing. I'm not sure what his name was .. but he was wearing a n95 mask and we were sitted at the table at the end next to the old entrance .. will be back

Very attentive waiter and very hospitable. Good amount of menu items at a very reasonable price. Food was delicious. Was able to accommodate a large party.

Top notch TexMex. Our visit was perfect. Our waiter was professional and brought our perfectly executed meals quickly and kept our drinks full. The iced tea is fresh and delicious. The place is clean. Our food was all fresh, hot, and delicious. The queso is amazing, the chips are fresh and crisp. The guacamole was fresh and we scraped the bowl to get every bit of deliciousness. We had the combo fajitas, they were very good, the meat was tender and altogether delicious. The beef enchiladas are absolutely amazing, also the chicken. And the vegetable enchiladas were out of this world. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A Fort Worth institution, don't miss out.

Place has gone downhill, service is so so…. Presentation was ok but lacked flavor and the fajitas were so salty and dry my wife couldn’t eat, so we mentioned it to the waiter and he returned saying they said they are at the bottom of the box and it’s always really salty….. although she had 2 PCs of meat and stopped eating we still got charged for them. Their puffed tacos aren’t puffy any longer and even the simple thing like the salsa has changed and flavorless…. Will not recommend or return to this location and it was always a favorite, we came here as a kid when it was the old building.

My hubby loves this place. He used to go to the original in Dallas. Food was great as it always is. Wasn't busy but because it's not one of the new fancy restaurants I'm not surprised. Traditional old school. Relaxing.

Very good fresh Mexican cuisine. The chips and sauce was some of the best we've had. The atmosphere is pleasant with no loud music. We had the frozen margaritas which were tasty, but light on tequila. The lighting and decor are comfortable and clean. The server was excellent and took care of everything promptly. There was a bit of a wait on a Saturday afternoon, but not too bad. We look forward to our next visit very soon.

Great food. It is hard to find good enchiladas here in Texas. I am from Georgia where the Mexican food is completely different. You don't see cheddar cheese on or in anything in Georgia. But the food here is not terrible!!

I returned last night to this El Fenix restaurant, which was an old favorite of mine back when I lived in this neighborhood. At around 8:30 PM on a Monday night, we were the only couple in the place! The staff was super friendly, and I had a great conversation with our waiter, who provided excellent service. He was above and beyond generous with me, because, not only was it my birthday last night, but he is just a very nice person. The food was perfect TexMex fare, For a very affordable price. This will have to return to my favorites list again.

I am so disappointed that I cannot post a 5-star review because of one of your servers, Leticia. She was very rude to my friends when they asked her a question about their drinks, but was nice to me when I posed the same question. I noticed her change in attitude and tone towards them which made me angry so I asked to switch servers. Thankfully Manuel saved the day, please visit him if you are ever there. He is courteous, quick, and had some great recommendations for us. I am grateful to Manuel for saving the night because we were ready to leave due to Leticia’s tone & attitude. El Fenix I hope you take this review into consideration, thank you again Manuel you are great.

Had a fantastic time/dinner here celebrating my son's birthday. Waitstaff and hostess were very friendly and accommodating. Margaritas were delicious.

This location has been a landmark in Ridglea for decades and never disappoints. The service is always top notch, the food is great and the dining room is always clean. Our family enjoys many of the dishes along with the unique chips/salsa. Whether you are going for the Weds enchilada special or just for some good TexMex comfort food, El Fenix on Camp Bowie, you will have a great meal.

This is our go-to, old-style neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant. Good food, friendly staff, fair prices. We like the brisket tacos or combo fajita salad as a healthier option, but our favorites are the enchiladas and plate specials.

The restaurant was exceptionally good. The food was so good I had the urge to lick my plate like a dog. Chips were cooked to perfection. Our party waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated but this is understandable, well worth the wait. I would give six stars if I could. Awesome service and friendly waiters. Even the bus boys were friendly.

Every time I go to El Fenix it seems like I'm the youngest customer there. The average age of the patrons looks to be about 50. In other words it's the place your grandparents go to when they want Tex-Mex. Having said that their food is good and the service is fast, and I mean REALLY fast. Whether you're going for enchiladas, chili relleno or tamales it doesn't matter, I haven't found a dish that I didn't like. Unfortunately the free hot sauce, while tasty, really doesn't have any heat to it.

Excellent food every time we go! The meat is so flavorful and the chips are the best. Staff are always friendly and attentive. The music was too loud this time but otherwise the atmosphere is great. One of my favorite restaurants!

Server was great, food took a bit but they are trying to hire more people. The steak fajitas were lacking any peppers but lots of onions. The brisket tacos were good. Chips and salsa are really good.

Food was delicious and waitress was excellent. We did not have to wait more than 15 minutes from time we ordered to receive our food. With kids that is big plus. Wait staff is on drinks and anything else needed. We did not have to ask for refills on drinks, chips or salsa as she already taken care I of it. she was super observant and friendly. The service to me is as important as the food.

I have loved this place since my childhood. It is a great place with a friendly and happy atmosphere. It is the place to go for chips and salsa. Don't forget to try the ice box lemon pie (You'd think I'd remember the exact name after all these years, but oh well). Everything is delicious, my favorite sauce here is ranchero.

We went here with 22 people for lunch after a memorial service. They let me make a reservation and followed up that morning because I was never able to get a set number of attendees. The two ladies that waited on us did a fantastic job! We had a room to ourself and I was able to move about the room and visit with each table. The food was great and they really did a great job. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a large group or for a table of two. Thank you for a wonderful meal and visit with family.

We love El Fenix on Camp Bowie and eat there almost every week. All the servers are great but our favorite is Frankie, we request her every time. She knows our preferences and always gets everything just right.

This place is either a “Hit or Miss”. Sometimes the food is Fresh and Hot when they bring it to you and at other times, it’s not. The customer service is the same, with excellent service at times, and at other times- horrible service. I notice sometimes this location has an odor as well, so I recommend they do a deep cleaning during closed hours. DO NOT order the nachos that aren’t the ones as pictures here. Their nachos that come as a side consist of Greasy Melted Cheese and Chips- That’s it! I was so disappointed, even Dairy Queen offers delicious nachos at a better price. El Fenix does have Excellent Chips and Salsa & their drinks are always fresh. I recommend you go during weekends that way you get the best of what they have to offer.
