This restaurant came highly recommend, so hubby and I were very excited to try it. Unfortunately, the food was bland, greasy, the tortillas for the enchiladas were cold, the shrimp tasted fishy, beans tasted like they were from a can, the rice was dry, and the chips were stale. We sent our food back, hubby lost his appetite and I tried some tacos. The atmosphere, location, and decor was nice. Our waitress Kim was good and understanding. It is a bit pricy, so we expected the food to be better. It's a NO👎 from us.

Do not order extra strong margaritas, they way over charge to make a stronger drink. Margarita drinks are not strong here. Tamale appetizer is Excellent! Highly recommend. Carne Asada is good but the Mexican Pepper Steak is Outstanding! My new favorite. Chicken tortilla bowl is large and very good. Going through the menu and finding good food. Margaritas half price Wed.

Wife and I came here for a birthday party with a group of about 20 or so. Servers were of average politeness but rarely helpful. That's not the end of the world, but unfortunately, our food was nasty, too. We ordered nachos with fajita chicken on the side. The nachos came out first and were piled and very greasy. I'm talking about shiny, see-through chips with a pool of grease underneath the mess—you can actually see the yellow grease on the right side of the plate. The nachos were also cold by the time the chicken pieces (not fajita meat) came out. The food you see is depicted here what was left after we ate all we could stomach of our $16 nachos (which obviously wasn't much). Nobody seemed to care about our experience either and someone cleared the plate when I had briefly stepped away. Never again.

This is a large Texas restaurant with a lot going on inside. Great food and service. I would come back here the next time I’m in Texas. Salsa on the table is definitely homemade and has a nice kick from the jalapeños. The margaritas here are very good as well, and are a great start to a night at the Stockyards.

We had about 15 people for our granddaughter's 1st birthday celebration at lunch. Food and service were very good, but there was so much chaos and noise that it made it difficult to talk together. The waiter that sang a happy birthday song in Spanish was excellent. They gave a very nice garden area outside that is suitable for weddings, etc. We sat out there after lunch and opened presents in the nice quiet solitude.

Place is always great! I’d say anything you get is good, great atmosphere, and better service! Best part is the parking, you don’t have to pay and they have they’re own.

We enjoyed a delicious meal yesterday afternoon in The Gardens at Los Vaqueros behind the restaurant. It was a beautiful day for dining outside. We started with some delicious queso, hot sauce and chips. I enjoyed the perfect “sangarita” drink with my meal! Our waiter was great, and the manager was telling us about some exciting renovations that are coming soon. Thanks for a most enjoyable dining experience.

Excellent traditional Tex-Mex dishes, fun atmosphere and great service! Our waiter Tony was very attentive and our meals came out to our table fast. Highly recommended especially if you are visiting the Stock Yards area.

Los Vaqueros was a lovely place for lunch or dinner. It was a huge restaurant that also had a separate banquet area and a separate bar. It had a great Monterrey theme. The salsa at the beginning was a little bland but it wasn’t bad. I had the sour cream enchilada and it was hands down one of the best I have ever had. My husband had the tortilla soup with stuffed avocado, it had very fresh ingredients. Filling, without being heavy. Our son had the carne asada salad. He also enjoyed his meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good Tex-Mex restaurant in the Fort Worth area

This is a very nice place to come and visit. Have a celebration. The waitresses are definitely friendly and helpful. What I observed this is a very clean environment. Lots of places to sit. Looks like they have rooms that you can reserve for your special occasions. Well lit and has a wonderful ambiance. The food is very flavorful and Rich. Be careful because the plates are hot when they bring out your food. The menu has a lot to choose from. Today I chose chile rellenos and chicken enchiladas. If you can see the combination of cheeses are ooey gooey. As well as tasty. The chicken enchiladas were oh-so-good with a combination of sour cream and spices for the topping. The salsa! Oh my. For my Pace had just the right amount of bite. The sweet tea is delicious. The lemonade taste reconstituted. The flavor of the beans were awesome. The beans were just a tad bit too firm for me. I have had before sopapillas but none like these. Tender as mother's love. Almost eye rolling good. Topped with honey and butter! Bite that and you might slap somebody. Today on a scale from 1 to 5. I will get you a 4! WORD of the day is! Traditional! The servers are sensational! There is plenty of parking in the parking lot. When you get to the front and see all the stairs. Don't worry honey they have wheelchair access! There is a lot of nostalgia. And plenty of novelty items to look at. Spacious with plenty of room to walkthrough.(for those who are blessed with more than most) If you enjoy my reviews be sure to like and follow.

When Joe T Garcias was too busy we discovered Los Vaqueros. A very capable Tex-Mex restaurant. We split chicken and steak fajitas. The beef was the most tender I’ve ever had. The chips were warm with a deep corn flavor. However tender the beef was, it lacked any flavor. Just kind of bland. But it was reasonably priced. A couple of more peeves: even though the menu says the medium portion is good for two people you have to pay extra for another side of rice and beans. Plus, no cheese or sour cream. Tsk, tsk. But the biggest downer was the noise level. My wife and I, sitting next to each other had to yell to have a conversation.

Nice atmosphere. Good food and service. We had the fajitas and brisket tacos off the lunch menu. Chips and salsa were great as well as our main dishes.

Wait staff is great. Atmosphere is cozy and old west themed. Food was descent but a bit underwhelming for what I expected. They seemed short on staff. They were very busy but then we did go during the week of the Fort Worth stock show. May have to try here again when they are not as overwhelmed.

I had the chicken enchiladas. They were 3/5. The "hot" sauce was like tomatoes from a can. The rice and beans were mid. I'm surprised how high this place is rated. Tbh I won't be coming back. The decorations and atmosphere were a vibe. They just need to step up their food.

We got to back Los Vaqueros. We ate there when they first opened. My husband coworker’s in-laws opened it years ago. And then my coworkers would eat here at lunch every so often. It is still just as good as when we first had a date there.

We made a last minute reservation for lunch with a group of 30 of us. They so kindly accommodated us and had our table ready and even all together! Jesse was our waiter. We had impeccable service. Not one thing was incorrect. He was so attentive. We thanked him a thousand times because we were just so pleased with his service for 30!! The food was great. The restaurant is very large! Tons of room. Drinks were tasty too. Thank you so much Jesse!!

Had my son's 21st birthday dinner here and the staff and managers were amazing and so on point. My server was the best and the night turned out great!! Thank you so much for helping my son's birthday be memorable. You will see us again. God bless you.

I like this place, rustic and nostalgic. The dish was hot, filling and good! The waiter: friendly, prompt and professional. It has always been a nice experience to me. And yes, (all u people in the comments section) that's milk...only thing to put out this fire!!!

Restaurant was pretty loud inside. Service was kind of slow but our server was nice. Drinks came out after our food but it was pretty good. Food was also good but nothing out of the ordinary. The prices are high for what you get. They offered us guac or queso with our chips, didn’t mention it would be extra, but we figured it would be. BUT $7 for a tiny cup of guac?? Not worth it

Very festive atmosphere. Everyone was having a great time with a fantastic band playing great tunes. Sweet and attentive staff. The food was ok. My husband and I commented the meat tasted old. It could have been why we got food poisoning. We got sick not too long after we got home that lasted through the night. We will stick to the bar and great music in the future. We spent over $100 and did not get to keep it. 😉
