I have heard a lot of hype about this place that the food is to die for went here last night and I was not impressed with the food at all and trust me I love fajitas and enchiladas the beef fajitas tasted like the meat was boiled the chicken fajitas thankfully were way better than the beef we’re not from the area and drove at least 35 minutes to get there. The outside of the place is beautiful indoor and patio seating that’s really about it all I can complement on honestly, also folks please remember to bring cash only they do not except credit cards if not you can access one of two atm’s in the restaurant, I found that to be strange but I will leave that alone. But if you are in the area don’t bother unless you want bland food honestly it’s no go for me. I rarely give out 1 star ⭐️ but this one was a complete fail for me.

First timer at Joe T's. There are 2 lines to line up for a table - one for dining room and another for patio. We went with the shorter line and ate inside. Would recommend you come here with snacks or not very hungry as the line is long and by the time you make it inside, it is time for your next meal 😊😊. The plus side is you can go to the bar and bring drinks to the line while you wait. Yay. For drinks we had a XX and nicely prepared ranch water. We went with beef fajitas for our entree. So here's the gist... Come here for the chips and salsa, stay for the drinks and patio atmosphere. The beans and rice are fantastic. Probably won't order beef fajitas next time; taste and texture was like eating liver and onions. They are edible, but probably just what i would not have again. The wait staff is fast and very personable. All in all, i like the limited menu and the speedy service once you get to your table.

In town for a baseball tournament for my son, and a friend recommended this place to me. Little did I know it was a very popular place waited in line for about 30 minutes but it was well worth it. They do a limited dinner menu, fajitas or enchiladas. My son and I chose the enchiladas which also comes with two large nachos each and two tacos each. More food than we could consume but had to try the sopaipillas also! Great food, wait staff and ambiance. They do only accept cash or check so come prepared!

Always love this place. The outdoor patio has the best ambiance. I ordered the tortilla soup and skinny margarita and they were both delicious and the soup was very filling. My husband had the tamale dinner and he thought it was just okay. It was bland. He also had a top shelf margarita and he said it was the best margarita he has ever had. We did have the cheese nachos to start and those are always good. Don’t forget they only accept cash! Overall we are very pleased and will return!

Food was nothing special, salsa did not taste very fresh imo, but prices were cheap and honestly you don't come here for the food. The outdoor patio is beautiful and is the only reason I would recommend it. The skinny margaritas made with fresh lime juice was very good, and the service was great as well. REMEMBER CASH! Definitely will be back for afternoon margs on the patio.

Cash Only establishment. There's an ATM inside. Beautiful outdoor seating area. The food selection is underwhelming and the margaritas are nothing special but that is just my very honest opinion. Beautiful location, space, and setting but the food is not it. Maybe for the sake of big gatherings and photo ops, but not to enjoy a meal. I hear the lines get crazy, I hope this helps some of the people that find themselves waiting over an hour to enjoy this place. Make it worth it with good company, good conversation, and good photos:)

My friend brought me here for a taste of authentic Mexican. It was absolutely delicious! The server was friendly and helpful. We were serenaded by the Mariachi band. And the margarita swirls were delicious! Even if there's a line I recommend waiting in line for this wonderful food.

We stopped in for lunch around 1:00 and were immediately greeted, seated, and placed our order. As long-time fans of the dinner menu, we were excited to try the lunch items. We ordered the chicken nachos, steak quesadilla, and pork tamales. The food was delivered to our table in only 7 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. The grilled chicken and steak were perfectly grilled, tender and seasoned just right. The beans and rice were delicious as always. The chips were perfectly cooked and the salsa was fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. The seating here has a lovely ambience-the outdoor seating is amidst a beautiful garden and the indoor space is nicely decorated too-it feels as though you’re in a movie scene. The food was outstanding as always and a great value-I’m glad we finally tried the lunch items and I look forward to returning for the brunch menu. This is hands-down my favorite Mexican restaurant in the DFW area-I highly recommend it!

Took a trip to the DFW area and wanted to try Joe T. Garcia's. Worth the visit. The atmosphere is outstanding. We did eat on the patio. Cash or check only, the do have an ATM on site. We had fajitas and enchiladas. Service was great. Very classy place to eat. My daughter loved the guacamole dip. Best fajitas we have ever had and we like our Mexican food. Cheese enchiladas sauce had to be homemade it was perfect. You will not be disappointed. All kinds of stuff to do very close to this gem.

***CASH ONLY*** I got the chance to check out this iconic location. The food was ok, but I knew that going into this place. The margaritas are what everyone goes for, but I still didn’t think they were over the top good. Pictured are the pork tamales I ordered. I wish my guest and I could’ve sat outside, but it was really cold with a small snow flurry. Overall, it’s a decent place to go once just to say you’ve been.

The wait was long as always at least 50 people ahead of us before 5pm opening time, however was seated within 15 minutes. The server was great, friendly, attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful and there are fans and cooler throughout the patio to beat the Texas heat. The food and drinks was good and reasonable.

The service was incredible. The menu isn't large, but I think the perfect size, I believe this aids in the waite time. The prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive. I traveled a lot so I was by myself. They offered to seat me right away, but it was a table for 6. I didn't want to take up so much valuable real estate since it was just me and was the beginning of lunch They actually set me at the front of the restaurant, which was great. Jenna was my server, and Aaron was often checking on me. They were both so polite and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

Heads up, it's cash or check only! But that didn't stop us from a wonderful date night out on the town. Our waitress, Gracie, was absolutely a blessing to have. You could tell she genuinely cared. The dinner menu was stripped down to a few items, but you really come for the atmosphere and that did not disappoint. It was about 60 degrees and we knew from the beginning that we would be sitting outside. Trust me, it's worth the wait!

This was absolutely amazing! I was immediately impressed with the atmosphere. I dined outside in their beautiful patio area. It was adequately shaded. Even though it was warm outside, I did not feel hot. There were birds, but they did not bother me during my meal. The servers are so nice and attentive. I wanted authentic Mexican tacos, and my server helped me to come up with a dish (I guess technically, off menu). I got street tacos with beef. I'm always hesitant to get beef because from previous experiences, it's always tough. OMG when I tell you it was THEE MOST TENDER cuts of beef that I've ever had on a taco...🤌🏼 mm mm mm. And the portion sizes are so big! I will be having my leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I also ordered a virgin frozen margarita with salted rim. The restroom is very clean.

I recommend sitting on the beautiful patio with a pitcher of Margaritas. I LOVED the margaritas! You have to stand outside in a line before entry. Not a problem, we ordered a pitcher of margaritas and drank while we stood in line. Now for the reason I gave only 3 stars, the chicken fajitas totally missed the mark. When they were served to us the chicken in the fajitas were cold, extremely dry, and bland. They tasted like they were sitting out for a long time. I ended up just eating chips with the guacamole (that was served with the fajitas). The beef taco lacked seasoning, and was also cold. Definitely not worth the price. If I come back, it will only be to eat chips and salsa, and enjoy margaritas.

Beautiful place with good ambiance and Mexican food. Highly recommended if you are going on dates. Out door seating so would suggest going in the evening. Nice live performer singing songs. Cool decorations and food is worth the money. It's a nice place, so I had to stand in line for almost 20 minutes.

Go for the atmosphere, not the food, although I do love the Nacho. Fajita meat was pretty dry. Enchilada sauce tastes like it came out of a can. I haven't been in a few years, and it seemed like the prices sky rocketed and not for better quality. Usually we would get our food pretty quickly, this particular time it took about 45 minutes if not longer. It is a fun place to socialize and take pictures, margaritas are usually pretty stout, so get a nacho and a marg.

On a diet? Uhmmm sorry to say this place is not for you because the food is so freaking good. Ordered a skinny margarita and that was good. Warn you, if you’re hungry and don’t want to wait fall in line in inside seating cause they have more table but if you prefer patio seating expect 2 hrs of wait or more. Overall a very good Tex Mex restaurant to try. Love to be back at Joe Ts again!!!!!

OMG! WHAT A PLACE!! Not to be missed. Sit outside. There are two very long lines but worth the wait. You can get a pitcher of margaritas from the bar and start the party in line. Beautiful. Great ambience. Great service. Order the family style food. We had the fajitas combo and cheese enchiladas. An incredible experience was had by all.

Honestly I never expect much with Tex-Mex Restaurants when it comes to food, but let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised with how everything tasted. Good food, even better atmosphere. Sitting outside was absolutely amazing, and our server Paul was amazing. You can tell he loves what he does. Def will be coming back time and time again and bringing anyone who visits from out of town there. The place is sure to impress!

I thought it was going to be like any other Mexican food joint. Everything from the drinks to the chips and salsa and the chicken fajitas were all delicious! Darlene was a great server, very attentive and took the time to explain the menu to us and the history!

*ARRIVE EARLY* thankfully we got there right at 11 otherwise we would have skipped trying it (see pictures of the lines when we left at 12:15 😳! Service was great! SO MUCH FOOD - we should have shared, we know for next time!! Food tasted wonderful, 4 stars only because the sangria swirl was not impressive & they don’t have spicer salsa to offer 😭! Other than that everything was great! *CASH ONLY*. MUCH better than Los Vaqueros down the street! They have great swirls but that’s all!

Delicious, fast and well worth the prices, which are reasonable. Parking was easy. Bustling but comfortable atmosphere and the staff was excellent; helpful, friendly and quick. I ordered the Bistec Salad and my friends ordered fajita nachos and cheese enchiladas. The place is obviously not a new place but was very clean and well maintained. Overall, really enjoyed Joe T Garcia’s and would definitely go back

What a HUGE place. Lots and lots of outdoor seating. Honestly I don't even know if they have indoor seating, that's how much outdoor seating there is. It feels like someone plopped down a Spanish mansion from the 20s and turned the outdoor garden into restaurant seating. So gorgeous and beautiful and comfortable. The staff were all amazing and the service was quick and high quality. Food was good simple and only 2 options but good. Margaritas were good and strong and a little expensive but all in all it was a great evening.

It is a basic Tex Mex menu done very well. The atmosphere is why it is famous, as it is quite beautiful in the garden. Many people go for birthdays and other milestone events. The servers were extremely efficient, but not so upscale that it's uncomfortable. I was impressed by how many celebrities have been there. I was a fan of the margaritas, which are known for being strong and tasty.

You want a great evening out with friends on the patio with your favorite adult beverages... then 5 Stars! You want a great evening out with friends, family, etc. and eat inside, then you get a 5 Star experience, with 3 Star food. I have been going to Joe T's since I was a kid. The food is still the same stuff. The thing that makes Joe T's is the atmosphere, and the memories that you make with friends and family while there. The hostess and wait staff are amazing, fast and efficient. Kitchen speed for food service was lightning fast! OK, now on to the food. First, if you have never been there, go for LUNCH on the WEEKEND... you get a menu to pick from. If you want Enchiladas or Fajitas only, then you can go any other day of the week. The chips are awesome (when hot). The salsa is ok, but needs a kick. The queso is somewhat bland and needs a little pick me up! The appetizer tacos and tostadas that come with the meal are wonderful. The enchiladas I have always liked, but need to be served hotter. Yes, they serve them off a hot platter onto the plate at table side (for show), but they need to get them hot in the kitchen first. There's only so much that a hot platter can do. The fajitas are mediocre at best, because there is not much flavor to them. Richer marinade or lime on the top?... who knows. This is one of the few places that I will not take the leftovers home from. Beans and Rice are bland. Sopapillas... I will take those any time! Hot, fluffy with honey and cinnamon/sugar on top. Yummy! Bottom line since there is no way to score the environment separate from the food... this one ends up at a 3 for me. Joe T's is a great place, built on a great history with great memories... but it's SOOO close to being an over the top place, if the food kept up with everything else.

The first time we have eaten here and it was GREAT!!!! The food was excellent with a lot of flavor and good-sized servings. The only thing I would have changed is eating outside because of the beauty atmosphere and weather we had that day.

  • 5/5 Andrea C. 4 months ago on Google
We ate inside. Restaurant was very busy but got in quickly considering. Margarita was excellent although a bit pricey. Food was good and came out quickly. Cookies- don't waste your $$. Service was just soso but nothing to really complain about. Would definitely return especially to eat outside - line was way too long for the amount of time we had.

  • 2/5 Ryan M. 2 months ago on Google New
Look, is it good food? Absolutely. But you're waiting in line for hours. Don't you humans value your time? There are literally dozens of places where you can get the same quality of food without having to wait in the blazing hot sun for dinner. Don't be brainwashed, be better. Value your your time. It's all you have. Also 50+ dollars for a maragitta pitcher is highway robbery.

  • 5/5 Emily C. 2 months ago on Google New
Rice and beans should not be served on the same skillet with the beef fajitas. I've never been to a "Mexican" restaurant where it's all served on the same skillet. It's ALWAYS seperated. My rice was mushy and stuck to the skillet. Fajitas taste and look more like beef tips not fajitas. Salsa was not authentic more like cold pace picante. The crispy tacos do not come with shredded cheese and were served cold, not room temperature but more like refrigerator cold. The best part of our meal was the queso con carne that's about it. It was nothing compared to the hype recieved at all. We will definitely not return in the future.

We came with a large group. It would be better to split the tickets so that the last couples leaving doesn’t get stuck with the items that others forgot to pay for. Great atmosphere and friendly people. Margaritas were good! Waitress did keep giving people the wrong food but all in all we had a good time. Be aware that it’s cash only. They do have an ATM but it only dispensed a $100 bill and I wanted smaller bills for tipping the guy singing. Went to the bar and ordered a margarita to get cash back.
