It has been several yrs since I was here last but the food didn't disappoint. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. Ha d the garlic butter trout and it was so delicious along with the cooked squash and the rice and beans. Will definitely go back sooner than latter.

The service was weird here. The guy at the cash register was not helpful at all explaining the menu and what came with what. The grilled veggies were under cooked and the shrimp on the shrimp kobos were over cooked. The grilled tilapia was really good and seasoned well.

A fish place that plays Blues music. That's it, that should be the whole review and enough to get you inside but here's some pics to entice you. The fish is so delicious and the sides are fantastic. I have planned trips to Fort Worth on purpose JUST so I can come eat at this place.

My go to lunch spot for a solid oyster poboy, amazing hush puppies, and a cold drink. It is usually very quick to get food and a fun atmosphere. A little secret I like to do is to take the table horseradish and mix it with the tartar sauce for a spicy French fry / sandwich dip.

I am hooked on those catfish filets, they also have crab legs filets that are cooked to perfection. However, there is a minor inconsistency on those crab legs. The place looks authentic and the staff is really friendly. I will recommend this any time! Now if they could get their crab legs to come out 100% consistent in temperature then this place would be a 5 star

Loved the food! Fresh and tasty. Huge shrimps! Bit of a wait on line to order but very efficient. They give pagers after you order. Wait not long after ordering.

The only one that was flying was me out of there. The front counter order taker was a nice guy and really hyped up the food. This catfish jambalaya absolutely sucked. It was cold, mushy, and wet. Then they have nasty shredded chicken on the jambalaya. The catfish and fries were cold and not fresh. Hush puppies were old, crunchy, and cold. Cooks in the kitchen were visible and were a little too relaxed and calm considering how busy it was. Occurred to me that they had the food made in advance, sitting there. I should’ve said something because the sign I saw on the wall I didn’t notice until I was walking out. I shocked at all the positive reviews😱

Delicious food every time with amazing options !! I love this location & perhaps because it’s the only one that I’ve been to as of now. The atmosphere is always welcoming from the service to the other guests dining in! Always fresh and tasty dishes!

We love the flying fish! High quality food in a quirky and fun atmosphere. From the simple fried catfish basket to the fancy grilled options there’s something for everyone. My kids are thrilled by the cute boat that the kids meals come in whether fish or chicken strips. I always upgrade my side to the red beans and rice. Plenty of cold beer choices and fabulous housemaid lemonade. I’d have the flying fish in weekly rotation if we lived closer

Kitchen staff here are amazing. They work so hard and do amazing things in the kitchen. All you can eat catfish on Wednesdays is a must do. You can sub grilled squash veggies for fries/rice in any dish. Fires are from frozen so only okay ish.

Ordered the Mexican Cocktail for $12.99. Looked great butI got atotal of six (6) small shrimp. I get two dozen for $8.75 @ walmart. All I'm saying is be careful they skimp on the shrimp. I walked away with a belly of juice and avocado's.

The place is clean and decent for family. Location is not fancy at all so don’t get high expectations. Food was ok. We ordered two kids boats, one with chicken strips and the other with cheese burger. Both were nice for the price. We picked the most expensive red snapper vera cruz $28.99 per dish and the fish was not spiced at all but it had good amount of meat. Rice was ok and the 4 pieces of zucchini were crunchy and tasty the cooked vegetables with olives in the tomato sauce on the side wasn’t that good but it was the spices I used for the fish with some salt on the table. I hope we took the fried whole tilapia instead but we will give it a second shot trying the caddy dish with shrimps on top of rice. It looked nice but I have to try the taste.

I enjoyed my lunch it was good I would love to come back and try other menu items. I will say my oysters was very small so that was disappointing. Service was fast and quick. The ceviche was nice and light.

Quite crowded during lunchtime, but the food came quickly. Moreover, the fried thing is fresh and crispy. I love cocktail dipping sauce.

The gumbo was HORRIBLE! It does not taste like gumbo at all. The bowl of gumbo I had, tasted old and bunt. It could have just been that batch. I called the restaurant to inform them. The guy did offer to replace the gumbo (after telling me it doesn’t taste Burt because he has to tasted it before he can eve serve it). I would cost me more gas and time than it’s worth because I live over 35 minutes away from the restaurant. I won’t be trying the gumbo again. It could have just been a bad batch of gumbo, I do not know. I made my purchase based off reviews and was disappointed. It does not taste like gumbo at all. I called the store to let them know about the gumbo. After telling me to gumbo was fine because as the chef he has to taste the food before serving, he offered to replace the gumbo and I had to try it before I leave the store next time. I was going to take the gumbo back, but I live 45 minutes away. It would cost me more time and gas than what I paid for the gumbo, so I through it away after day two.

I ordered the lobster soup, a cup. It was ok. My husband had gumbo, and it was ok. I also had catfish and shrimp, and both were bland. The hush puppies were stale and hard. The guy at the register was friendly

So you have to go to a counter to order. Prices are that of a seated serve restaurant. Food was good. Lots of catfish (not a fan) but I had the trout. Outside seating available and the inside has tons of fishing pictures.

We ordered the shrimp basket, catfish platter, and their special which was, “The Caddo.” The fish was hot and delicious per usual my only complaint are the fries, they were a little bit overcooked and not as hot as the fish. Our favorite out of the three was, “The Caddo”! Overall our experience was pleasant and next time we will switch out our side from fries to something else!

Updated November 3, 2023 ….. well my wife and I went back tonight expecting a great meal. See the pictures while it looked good. Clearly, there was something wrong. My wife’s whole catfish tasted fishy. My fillet catfish tasted fishy and was mushy. We got fried okra, and they were mushy. There is a clear lack of attention to detail, leaving a fat gray matter on catfish, turns into a strong fishy flavor. It could’ve been the oil was old are the oil temperature was not where it needed to be to fry properly. Anyway, I don’t wanna pay $63 to have a meal that we have to stir around to find something that taste good.

The restaurant decor is worth viewing if you are a fisherman. The whole fried catfish was nicely cooked and the snow crab was seasoned just right. Nothing bad to say about the food; just nothing to rave about either. If you are in the area it’s quick seafood. The staff wasn’t rude nor were they friendly but the feeling wasn’t welcoming.

My husband had never been to the Flying Fish! So, I told him he was missing out! He now knows what he was missing! We had the grilled salmon. He had the beans and rice and cole slaw. I had spinach and grilled squash. Yum!

Excellent place for seafood near Dickie's arena! Great service, really good food (lots of grilled as well as fried), cool divey atmosphere (huge collection of Billy Bass on walls) and great prices!!

The Salmon Tacos were excellent yesterday. You haven't lived until you've had their Snapper Veracruz. The best fish ever. Now if I could talk 'em into bringing back the Anchor Steam Beer. Goes so well with seafood.

We have eaten here twice and will be back again soon. Best seafood restaurant I have been to in a long while. Not cheap but good seafood never is. Best part (besides the food) is it is really low key and the staff is friendly. Cons: Not enough parking spots, lot next to it states it's for the barbecue place across the street. You can only get margarita's frozen not on the rocks.

Excellent southern and Cajun style seafood. Counter service, lots of seating inside and out. Great decor. If you have an old "Billy Bass" singing fish you can mount it here with a plaque showing that you donated it.

Flying Fish is a family favorite for fresh seafood, veggies and sides! Great for low carb dieters, carnivores and vegetarians alike with an awesome selection of kids meals served in dimensional cartoon boats to keep them busy. The walls are covered in fun fishing related photos, old fishing equipment, mounted fish and even mechanical fish. We ordered the Crab Legs, steamed in Cajun seasoning and served with garlic butter sauce, fresh corn on the cob and new potatoes. The coleslaw was cold and the hush puppies are not to be missed… especially dipped in cold butter! My husband enjoys the pan seared Red Snapper with sautéed veggies - great for low carb or Keto diets. We’ve never had a bad meal here! Pros: It’s always fresh, hot and delicious! The dining room is split into two sections including an outdoor patio for people who prefer to eat outdoors. There are so many delicious sides that a vegetarian or vegan would have no problem finding something to eat. Cold items are served very cold and hot items are served still steaming which makes for a wonderful experience! Cons: The full parking lot is a great indication of its popularity and you often have to circle the restaurant just to find a parking spot. There’s no warm water in the bathrooms for washing your hands after a messy meal.

Some fresh fish never hurts nor does the baked. Some many varieties that its hard to choose from. Either way you will be satisfied and the services is great. Awesome atmosphere.
