Another good breakfast cafe to share. HEAVENS GATE. 60 years + old but remodeled a few years back. Very clean and homey felling. Before covid had breakfast and lunch buffet. Now just lunch. But they will cook you up a delicious fresh breakfast. Had 2 fluffy pancakes, 2 eggs cooked how I ordered, sausage and hashbrowns. I took my neighbor, moved here from Ohio, for buffet. Our cook to order was better. Don't go if you are in a hurry. You will want to relax. ENJOY. Second visit with neighbor from Montana. Lunch buffet was good. Nice salad bar. Friendly employees.

Hidden gem 5 minutes from Historic Stockyards and Saginaw on North Main off 820 Main St exit. Fresh locally grown veggies and meat. Breakfast buffet Friday-Sunday. Daily lunch buffet starts at 11am or a la carte! Enjoyed the homemade meatloaf and steamed sweet potatoes.

I just can’t love this place. Yeah they have a breakfast buffet but it was the worst breakfast I’ve had. The eggs were wet, as in they cooked them in water and had no flavor. The ham tasted like cat food (yes I know how cat food tastes like, not my cup of tea) and the biscuits were a few minutes short of being rocks. However, friendly staff and clean place but I’m not sure I’m sold on that solely to ever return. I’ll have to try their lunch options but as of now I’ll steer clear from their breakfast options.

[2/27/2022, $14 per person] if the Golden Corral went bankrupt, this is how it will be, a smaller version of old sizzler. The restaurant has a nice facade but has limited items. The restaurant is well rated by others but not sure why. This isn’t a bad restaurant but it is not great as its average rating suggests. Food taste like they were cooked for older people, they are well seasoned but mush, dentures friendly. As for value, you are better off going to Golden Corral or Chinese buffet. Servers were very nice and the restaurant was clean. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant per say. It just wasn’t what we are used to in typical DFW area. I wish this restaurant was better.

This morning was my 1st time to go. When pulling up in the parking lot there is an Oasis feel to it the parking lot. I arrived not too long after it opened and it was nice and clean and the staff was super friendly. It is decorated with angels the 10 commandments and some crosses. It has a very relaxing atmosphere. We went for the breakfast buffet and enjoyed it very much. The bathroom was clean and in the ladies there was a very cute sleeping beauty sink.

We went for the lunch buffet. All of the fried food was overcooked and hard (the chicken was oddly sweet). The veggies were ok, but everything needed flavor. I can understand a buffet keeping it tame, but it was too tame (no difference between green beans and corn). The au gratin potatoes were actually decent. The pot roast wasn't bad (see bland, but well cooked). The ranch dressing was gross. For the price ($15), it was disappointing; for $10 maybe. The staff were friendly and prompt, and it was clean, to give credit where it's due.

We came in from out of town for my grandmothers funeral. This restaurant had the perfect name given our scenario and was close to the cemetery. The Staffing was extremely accommodating and we were able to get a private room in the back with a very short notice of a reservation. Most of our party took advantage of the buffet and a few others ordered off the menu everyone was satisfied with the food.

The name is perfect for this restaurant. They are such a very clean restaurant. They have a very very good breakfast bar all you can eat. And the waitress we had was wonderful she brought my son a chicken fried steak to go with his breakfast and asked if he wanted anything else. This is one of my favorite places for breakfast because you can have some fruit or anything you want if you want to satisfy your diet in a different way. Try this place out they deserve five stars they deserve 10. God bless

The buffet on Sunday was amazing! Fried chicken, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and cream gravy, green beans.....all as good as grandma make no lie! We paid $20 each and that would have been worth it even if we hadn't gone back for seconds! Service with a smile was amazing as well. Will definitely be back with friends and family!

Donna was our server and she was the friendliest server we've had for awhile. We ordered the cheese omelet with biscuits & grits. Delicious and generous

Interesting place you have here. With a title of “Heaven’s Gate”, became skeptical about what we’d be getting into. Then we walked in and the decore is very religious, complete with the 10 commandments in the entry. Skepticism grew. We were seated right away and out waitress was amazing. Very attentive and had a GREAT personality. The place was clean and the food was very tasty, and to that the skepticism went away and we all enjoyed ourselves. We will be back another day!

Menudo was excellent, thick meaty bacon..waitress was slower on drink refills but it was crowded..only negative is the hostel style seating. I'd rather not sit with a group of 10 strangers. #covidaware

I love Heaven’s Gate! The service is friendly and attentive. I personally think the food is delicious comfort food! I go about once a month with my niece and we love the weekend buffet! They have a good variety of veggies, nothing fancy, just good old fashioned corn, green beans, mashed or scalloped potatoes, spinach, sweet potato, fried okra! All my favorites for “Sunday lunch! They also have a nice little salad bar (I love the good ole fashioned pea salad) plain, but fresh and delicious! The meat options can’t be beat! Meatloaf, pork roast with carrots, bbq ribs, fried fish w/fries, baked chicken thighs yum!! I just found out this summer that there pies and cakes varieties are included in the buffet! The carrot cake was sooo yummy! I highly recommend this place for a simple comfort food weekend lunch. They have full menu option too, but I’ve never looked at it because I go strictly for the variety of the buffet and “a bite of each of my favorites”! There’s plenty of parking!

Had 2:00 o’clock reservations for Thanksgiving buffet. Got there a little early and we’re seated at exactly 2:00 in spite of a packed restaurant and lines waiting. Amazing traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. Very thankful for Heaven’s gate and the employees who worked so we didn’t have to.

Passed by this place for yearrrrrrs. After covid we noticed it did a huge overhaul on the building. Still-life, never went. Finally on FB someone mentioned it. Went on seen their menus and food. The atmosphere is beautifully structured. Beautiful stone patio sets with angels and scripts inside lobby. Greeted by friendly staff. We got there 20 minutes before breakfast ended and lunch started so we got to taste a bit of everything. The food........was......AMAZING. Everything was always stocked, lots of choices. They have a pie fridge that you can get a slice of pie. I have never seen a bigger carrot in my life than I have there. The food is outstanding and for the price?????? You can't beat it.

I was there with my family celebrating my sister's 78th birthday. We were there from roughly 10am until 1pm. I had to use the men's room. You can look at the pictures to see what I saw. Disgusting. Simply disgusting. I informed the someone that the restroom needed to be tended to ASAP. We all left about 1pm and the restroom hadn't been cleaned. Extremely disappointing.

I let the word out on this place . We love it so much. They were very accommodating.. We had a party of 30 and they were definitely ready for us and I like that. It was my husband's birthday and our friends love this place also ❤

Hubbs and I fell upon this place...then we went back 2 more times before this review. It's really a blessing to eat at this restaurant. The food feels like home. Somebody granny is back in the kitchen with her toes all in the recipes. Not a fan of buffets, but THIS place is my place. Extra added feel good that God's Word is written on the walls as you walk in. This place smells like praise and worship mixed with grandma's food.

Well I was very disappointed I drove all the way out here because online it shows it’s opened I tried calling the phone rings but nobody answers and they are actually closed And the sign says now hiring opening March 3

Exterior looks nicer, name might have changed, but it's still same old "Colonial" I was introduced to all these years ago. If you like comfort food, their menu is extensive. But why bother when there is daily buffet... This is a reason why place is full during lunch hour. Blue collar people know great food and value. Add breakfast spread on weekends... Anyway: Dear Heavens Gate, please don't change. Stay heavenly.

Went there on Christmas Day and the buffet was fantastic. Lots of traditional local comfort food. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and delicious. The service was attentive. Could not have been more pleased with this Christmas Day offering. Hardworking people making their customers feel satisfied and welcome.
