Came for the coffee, stayed for the food! Really cool experience in this budding area. It's a very authentic Turkish cafe vibe and I love it! Tried out the falafel and it was 😙👌🏾!! Perfect portions of everything and it wasn't even expensive! The Turkish coffee was nice and strong too! Great for a date night!

First time at The Flying Carpet Turkish Cafe. Food was very tasty as you combine the salad, rice, gyro meat, and tzatziki sauce into each bite. Each flavor builds onto the other for a nice balance of flavors. Lentil soup needed a bit of salt but was otherwise a nice starter. Meal also came with fresh, warm pita bread. We will return and bring a nice bottle of wine since they are BYOB.

Waitress was a treat and very happy to give recommendations. Decor was awesome, and the food was very well spiced. I went with some Lamb, and then finished up with a Turkish coffee, no sugar. I loved it all and found it to be worth the money, but it was a bit on the pricey side (if only but a few dollars). Tempted to go here, do it!

Oh my goodness!!!! The atmosphere here will make you think you are in another country. The food was superb, fresh, tasty and amazing. We had a party of 10 and they had space enough to seat all of us comfortably. The best thing The Flying Carpet is it’s BYOB, yes you read that correctly, you can bring your own bottle. The staff was amazing and the owner came out to meet us. They will see me again for sure.

Phenomenal experience! We happened to be walking by looking for a place to eat and saw this unique historical home converted into a restaurant. We figured, why not? The interior is an eyeball extravaganza. Rugs, color, patterns, etc. All kinds of fun objects everywhere. The bathroom was one of the coolest and quirkiest bathrooms I've ever been in. I don't think I've ever taken a picture of a public restroom before. Haha The staff was so attentive. It's a BYOB service so I ran across the street to the liquor store and got a bottle of wine and came back. They were happy to open it. We took a risk and just guessed as to what to order and were pleasantly surprised that we had chosen so well. I've actually been to Turkey and the restaurant had a similar vibe and felt very authentic without being over the top or cheesy. The bus boy was busting his chops cleaning and running around as they were getting close to closing and we were lagging behind enjoying our wine and conversation. I slipped him a $20 and told him to keep up the great work. He was so gracious and even offered to take our picture for us. Overall, this was an extremely pleasant experience. We live down the street from it and we can't wait to return.

Love this place! I brought my Turkish brother in law here and he said it was the best Turkish food he’s had in America. The staff was very friendly, food was delicious. I’ve been a couple times and haven’t been disappointed.

Being Middle Eastern, I am critical of most Middle Eastern restaurants. I stopped in one afternoon for a light lunch during the local art fair and I was pleasantly surprised! The appetizers were excellent in quality and authentic flavor! Everything is clean and well presented. The interior is fun, unique and beautiful. Everyone there was polite, accommodating and fun to talk to. One more note: I typically have light to somewhat severe reactions to restaurant food and I actually had zero problems! I will be going back on days I don't feel like cooking for sure. It's worth every penny and I HIGHLY recommend it. They don't serve alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own.

The food was good. The dolma that was hidden on the appetizer sampler, and it only came with one, was superb. Most of the time, you get tough leaves wrapping mush. Gross. This one was a soft leaf wrapping up a balance of textures, while still soft was not mushy. The flavor was perfect. Hint of mint and a good amount of sweet to offset the more earthy grain and herb flavors. I don't like talking about flavors and textures, but this was absolutely the best dolma I've ever had. I wanted more. The different dips were good, but I should have finished on the dolma. Hard to top perfect. The spanakopita was good, but my only criticism, and I don't think I'm really competent to criticize, because they may have meant this and I just wasn't getting it, but the crust was not dry leaf crispy, fall apart by looking at it too hard kind of crispy my ignorance demands a spinach pie should have. I would have liked a crispier pastry. It was still tasty, but the lack of crispiness was distracting. The calf liver... I'm not sure how to describe this experience. I'm one of the few folks that genuinely likes the taste of liver. When I get liver, I want to taste liver. Let me start by saying it was good. I finished all of it. It was not bad or even mediocre. It was good. However, the flavor of the lover was somehow muted. I don't know how they did it, but the texture was perfect, the smell was great, and when I took the first bite, I was expecting an explosion of the soft, supple lover explosion I'm used to getting when I make liver. Instead, I got a perfectly textured mildly seasoned oneself.that reminded one of the taste of liver in a subtle way. I was disappointed with the lack of robust liver flavor, but that's just me. Most times you get the opposite - overpowering liver funk that is like eating suede shoe leather. This was lover for people who probably don't like liver. Maybe liver for folks who want to get their feet wet. Everything was good if not excellent. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very attentive. She even helped me.understand how to get the awesome foam on Turkish coffee. It's an art, and I had no idea how much of an art until.she told me.about young Turkish girls being taught how to make the coffee. Ask about it, it's an interesting story. Everything about the place was charming, and I look forward to trying more dishes there. The atmosphere was very laid back, quiet, and clean. It is a very good place to have a nice dining experience. The dolma, though... That's the highlight. They're usually always so mushy, bland, or bitter at other places. They're not worth getting most of the time at other places. This one (I emphasize one because they really should put more on there) at this place seemed more congenial, less jaded with the world and fresh faced, ready to face life and all its possibilities. Food that surprises and pleases you like this makes you excited about life.

This was letter 'F' on our ABC restaurant tour. What a quaint Turkish spot in a historical Fairmount house. The owner was actually our waiter this visit and he was very helpful answering all of our questions. The food was great and authentic and we'll definitely be back!!

Phenomenal! I had the stuffed cabbage. I like trying new things and was very impressed. I love the decor, and the food was very well displayed and very flavorful. The portions are perfect.

We are just visiting the area and our host told us to try this place out. Immediately walking in, the atmosphere and ambiance were phenomenal. To start, we ordered the zucchini pancakes and the spinach and feta stuffed pastries as appetizers, and boy they were delicious!!! Entrees were also amazing, so flavorful and unique. I also tried the Turkish soda and was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend for all to try :)

We tried Flying Carpet Turkish Restaurant in fort-worth. Great ambience and decor but food and service was a disaster. Never going back there again. Over priced menu, low quality and quantity. Plus they are making young child work for them, kid was like 13 or 14 years old taking our order. He messed up the order as well and gave us the items we didn’t order. And then charged us saying that even if you didnt order, you eat so you have to pay for it. Manager refused to come out when we wanted to speak to him. Horrible place.

Absolutely wonderful! A very unique setting, a wooden house look similar to a log cabin, filled with Turkish decor. Romantic. Easy parking, (they have their own parking lot). We went at 8 pm on a Friday and there was no wait. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. The desert list too. The lamb chops were incredible. This place is a must go, at least go for desert and coffee.

This hidden gem in Fort Worth Southside is simply perfect. The ambient lighting, wood panel interior with carpets on display brings you to a peaceful place. After a night at the Modern, viewing David Parks opening show, dinner at The Flying Carpet was a truly magical experience. Thanks to the waitstaff and chef for creating such a special place. We literally felt like we were inside a scene from Aladdin. Great job here.

Nice ambiance. Pleasant staff. Unremarkable food, especially for the price. Menu was a little confusing about if the entree came with a salad. Thought it came with the meal but ended up paying $11 each for a simple shredded lettuce salad. Salad dressing was very salty. We won’t be returning.

Poor service, also their website says closes 10 pm so I invited a friend based that time, at 9:05 they asked us to leave because they want to close, I was embarrassed and disappointed. It was first time for me there, I read the menu before I went there and noticed over priced item but I thought it would super fancy dinner, it was way less than I expected. Order took long time Waitress was nice but I don’t think she speaks English. The guy was watching us eating and you can tell that he just wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. Anyway, will never go there

The food was so good I ate way more than I should have. Service was spot-on, beautiful decorations, excellent in all regards. They're also BYOB which is nice. This is NOT Chili's, so if you're expecting a $5 steak to be brought to you in two minutes by a server who is forced to treat you like a spoiled princess then you'll be disappointed. But if you like delicious food and can act like an adult, this will be an immediate favorite.

I love this place! I visited Turkey before and this food is really authentic! Good service and good prices! Please try the apple tea! It is THE BEST!

It is a beautiful place, cozy, comfortable and classy. The food is delicious and authentic. I would recommend it if these were the only factors. However, 5 people ordering small plates of food added up to 250 dollars. It is borderline too much. If you are willing to spend a buck, then definitely go here. It is great with nice service!

As authentic as it gets. Like most places in Texas, you don’t know how good a place is until you enter. If you are a meat lover, you can’t go wrong with Adana Kebob. I like their eggplant appetizer as well. Don’t forget to get their tea at the end of your meal with Baklava. Been a patron her since 2018 and they have not disappointed since.

Good food and good service. They were not, “checking in every 2 minutes” like other places. It was nice to sit down, in a restaurant, and enjoy an undisturbed meal. Also, the chicken was amazing!!!

This restaurant is absolutely adorable and the food is delicious. We will definitely be back. We Came to celebrate my dad's birthday and almost everything was delicious. The only thing that I didn't like was the falafel. The staff was very kind to my three-year-old and answered all her questions. The ambiance was very nice. The menu is on the pricier side however the portions were also very large. Also the chocolate baklava was amazing.
