Just had a really great dinner here. We started with the queso which had a really great homemade flavor. I tried the Corona Rita, which was a little sweeter than I was expecting but very good. I had the fish tacos which I really loved. He had ranchiladas, nice tender juicy steak paired well with the cheese enchiladas, he called it amazing. Everything arrived very quickly. Also wanted to shout out Anna for really exceptional service. She was very on top of it, and anticipated our needs. Very friendly and polite. It was some of the best service we have had in a long time!

This was terrible! From the moment we got in I had a feeling that this could be a real 'treat'.. A well underdressed and dirty hostess ( animal hair all over her sweater wearing dirty jeans and a sports windbreaker ) showed us to the table. Dirty floors, booth etc on our way to our booth. We didn't even have to order in all reality because there was enough food in the floor and seat to feed a family of 5. I ordered our drinks and had to use the restroom. That stank so bad like a Texas mid summer portable toilet. The guacamole had turned and became uneatable.. When I walked out I threw up next to the car. I hope a health inspector reads this review. This place is not what it used to be anymore. Bad slow service and it seems that the staff was on something. I would drug test each and every one of them. Dilated pupils are a sign!!!

This was my first time at OTB and it will most definitely be my last!! Beings former server and bartender I more proper protocol. Upon arrival, I was not greeted. It took all of 9 minutes. The bartenders decided that checking their phone and busing a table (that I was sitting in front of) was more important than me sitting there waiting. No hello, no menu NOTHING!! While ordering my drink the bartender was walking away as if I needed to hurry up or I was less important than everyone else. Mind you.. THE BAR WAS EMPTY!!!!!!! I then ordered my appetizer and a while later my entree. 15-20mins the bartender tells me they don’t have my appetizer then brings out my entree seconds later. I WANTED A DIFFERENT APPETIZER🤬 but was not giving a choice nor chance. I ordered my entree with NO CHEESE!!!! What came out….cheese 😣. Not to mention I NEVER RECEIVED CHIPS AND SALSA BUT EVERYONE ELSE DID!!!!!! I am done and I will never, I say NEVER EVER come to OTB EVER AGAIN

This location is the worst! The kitchen always makes incorrect orders, or the staff is unprofessional. During this visit, we ordered 3 crunchy chicken tacos and they gave us beef. To add insult to injury, the tacos were barely filled. We also ordered stacked nachos with NO beans. Guess what they put on it??? .. Yep, beans. I live close by and every experience at this location makes me wonder how they are still operating. I've even seen the waitstaff smoking a vape pen by the chip area. Unacceptable

Today’s experience at On the Border reminded me why I do not eat here. It started with trying to place the order online where it only gave me black beans as a bean option and my order that was 10.99 for whatever reason when I got to check out increased the subtotal to $13.32. Finally I just called. The lady, Tara, that I spoke with was the only positive part of the experience. When my food arrived the enchiladas were completely cold and the pre-packaged rice was not only cold but hard as well. The bean liquid was the only thing that was hot. I called them and it just got worse from there. Kylee said she would remake it but that was so gross I do not want to get the same thing now just warm. So she gave me my other enchilada option which none of them do I eat but I guess it’s my only option but at this point I just want a refund. That evidently is not an option. So now I am going to waste my time picking up beef with queso enchiladas that I don’t like and will not even eat. The manager brings my food and he is so hyper and wound up he does not hear a word I say when I tell him that. He takes my old food and tells me to have a nice day. I get out to my car and open it. Still this crunchy gross prepackaged rice and it is still cold. The beans are still bean soup but this time they are cold as well. I have a section with what appears to only be cheese but finally I find the enchiladas underneath. Guess what, yep, the cheese and the beef are all cold and the tortilla is crunchy and tastes of old grease. If this is the garbage they always serve I want to know how they stay in business. So from the time I started trying to place the order till I got the remake was 1 hour and 7 minutes wasted of my life and $13 spent on what ended up in the dog bowl

They have reduced their menu again - be warned. But I was surprisingly amused with all the staff here at this restaurant. Very cheerful and full of energy. Tim was our server and he was the best. Honestly the tacos were heavenly - as a non-foodie even I found myself enjoying it a lot. Don't know if the caso is the best - but no complaints about the salsa. Always ask if there is a special going on is my best tip. Real good time.

They are severely under staff. Our waiter was amazing. Not only was he serving us but he was also helping bus tables and was making the tortillas. The food was good albeit slow to get to the table. Seeing the effort the staff was putting in really made up for the amount of time it took.

Went there with family. Definitely a disappointment. My first order of chicken taco salad tasted like tuna fish. It looked like something out of a can. I ordered something else and they were very nice about it. 5 minutes later I had a new salad with ground beef that didn't look or taste like ground beef. It was bad. My former waitress daughter thought it looked like dog food. She wanted to throw up. They're definitely cutting corners here.

Food was very good. Like all other businesses they were more than short handed. One server, she was doing the best she could. Table next to ours had been set as we were finishing up. She told them she'd be right back & they seemed a bit put out. So I said she's the only server they have right now. There were 9 tables with 2 to 4 people at that time. They were nice & understanding especially after we explained they had someone headed in once he got off his other job & the one who was supposed to show had quit.

Came here for a family dinner and the overall experience was okay! The service was mediocre and the food wasn’t bad but wasn’t amazing either.

At a time when you want to drive in customers to your Restaurant, you are doing a terrible job. My wife and had dinner last night and the overall service was terrible. The restaurant was basically dirty and our waitress was very unprofessional and uninterested to take care of us. If it wasn't for the dessert, that we ordered to go and didn't get till after 30 minutes of waiting, it would have been a total waste our hard earned money. This is our second visit to this location and I guarantee you this will be our last.

Gave this place another try after about 4 years of not going. Sorry but it’s still very disappointing. My carne was raw, and too many ligaments I couldn’t chew through. Rice was cold and over salted. Tortilla chips were stale… best part of the meal honestly was my husbands honey shrimp bites. Those were tasty but not worth spending that much to be disappointed

UPDATE. Not good at all. I understand it was a busy night, we had to wait 30 to 40 minutes for food that was at best okay. The waiter was sweet, but the food was not good. I did the Combo deal with two green chili enchiladas, two fish tacos and the five order of sopapillas. The enchiladas were okay, the rice and beans were eh, the sopapillas were okay, but the fish tacos were gross, they tasted like frozen fish sticks on a tortilla. I will mention the chips and salsa were good, but that was it. Just not worth the wait nor the price.

If you've never been here the food is basically Tex Mex. It's good so you should enjoy most things but nothing that particularly stands out but overall it's a good dining experience. Service is usually pretty good but on this occasion it wasn't bad it was just lacking. Not to say there were some servers busting their humps but ours was non existent and it wasn't even that busy. That being said it's still a decent place to go and eat and drink.

Grant was our server and pretty sure he was asleep, he even said sorry I’m tired when he picked up he was making us uncomfortable. The hostess was on meth, 100%. The food was terrible. We told grant my crane asada was rubbery and he said oh sorry and handed us our ticket. Check #70019. He never brought a manager to us. Feel free to refund our food.

Clearly I love Mexican food. Great chips and salsa. Queso is always good. Came for a midday stop on a shopping spree with my daughter who is vegetarian. She order the mushroom protein bowl. She loved it but thought the warm salsa was weird even though it tasted good.

SERIOUSLY!! I'm on my way to my daughter's house I figured I'd pick up a snack so i.ordered some queso. $10.36 for this! I think corporate greed is beyond repulsive and sickening and people are going to answer to God one day and very soon. I will never ever order here again I mean $10.36 for this!!Mexican Inn has a bowl of queso that is with chopped meat, guacamole, pico, sour cream in it different kinds of cheeses 10 times the size of this one for the same price !!!!! I feel like going in and getting my money back but I don't want the stress and aggravation of going through all of that I just will not go here anymore people are not made of money and I thought it would be a lot bigger than this

My food I ordered was great, even the dessert. Until I went to eat the strawberry that came with the Strawberry Cheesecake Chimis. The strawberry had mold on it! Yea not so much mold is mold and I ain’t bout that. Check your produce before plating anything.

It's rare I ever have anything bad to say about this place. But the nicest part is almost always the staff. They're always so attentive!

It was really good. Our experience was having our waitress and one person in the kitchen but they still took good care of us. So it seems they are having staffing issues as many other places are right now. We enjoyed our entree's and will definitely return.

We had good service at the bar, we were only there for a couple of drinks. The bar tenders were attentive without being a bother. Can't comment on their food, but for some good chips and salsa, I can recommend this OTB.

Not as great as I remember it growing up. I haven't been to an On the Border for over 15 years, so coming back was exciting. Unfortunately, the food was lack luster. Very bland, poorly seasoned, and everything we ordered came out floppy/limp. The state of the restaurant may be a good indicator of this. It was a Friday evening and there were maybe three other parties there. Despite that, our seats were not clean. It may be due to a shortage of workers, but it was disappointing nonetheless. The best part was our waitress, who checked on us frequently, played with our little one, and demonstrated good customer service. Nevertheless, we likely will not be returning to On the Border for the foreseeable future.

It is Tex-Mex! They use the yellow queso and white queso. The food was hot when served and tasted like your typical Tex Mex.

Not to bad 🤷‍♂️ too expensive for the kind of food that's is nothing special. Most of the food was cold and the waitress the hole time was in a rush, drop the food in the table and goo. Also, asked for a well done steak and it came back rare, waitress didn't evened asked if the steak was well done. So, if you plan to go and expend money + the tip make sure you doble check what your ordering because some of these restaurants forget that your paying for a services and is there responsible to make sure your well served. Our first visit and our last.

Our experience was top tier! Our server was Lawrence, he was on top of everything! Order came out exactly as ordered and came out very quickly. Shoutout to the back of house team, food tasted perfect! The manager stopped by our table a few times and helped with our refills. Overall great teamwork! Thank you!

Worst Mexican food ever. The reason why I tried this location because I tried Lewisville branch which was good. We ordered 3 meals. My son picked up the food. When he got home we found only 2 meals in the bag. The food was cold and dry. Food was mixed inside plates. Amount is to little. Taste was bad and disgusting. We had to throw it in the trash and go out again to buy food from different restaurant. First and last try to this place. My family and I will not go back again to this restaurant. Don’t recommend it. Don’t waste your money.
