Man I tried to love this place but I just can't. Sorry to have to come across negative but the chicken is not spicy enough and there is no batter crust, Just fried dried/burnt skin. The place was packed so obviously some people like their chicken that way but I would prefer spicier more flavorful crispy battered chicken served with fresh rolls or biscuits, not just white bread from a loaf. Please try it and decide for yourself but I for one will not be going back. It is too expensive for being chicken. I thought Babe's chicken was expensive but this beat it.

Gus was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Our fried pickles with dipping sauce was excellent, our chicken and Mac n cheese was delicious, and our sweet tea topped it off! We truly enjoyed ourselves and will DEFINITELY BE BACK! This is a cultural place so I loved that too! The building is older but has character with charm and it was clean (I do recommend a little renovation soon). I adored the old school goodies that played in the background as well. Another highlight was the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE we received. I can’t remember her name but she truly has compassion and delightfulness in what she does! My only con was the frozen or canned greens. I lived in Memphis for 5 years and they serve fresh greens. As well the pecan pie tasted old and it definitely wasn’t fresh. I prefer whole pecans on my pie too instead of crushed (just my preference). Gus again, is truly a gem that everyone should try!

The most beautiful chicken I have ever graced my fingers upon. There is something so indescribably good about this chicken. I don't know if it's a crisp, the juiciness, or simply the absolute flavor that you can get from it. I cannot recommend this enough I'm still going to give this a five-star simply because of the food but I still do have some things I would like to address. When receiving my food a staff member did pick his nose as he was getting my utensils. I didn't make a fuss about it because that's not the type of guy I am but I thought this was something that needed to be addressed. It would be much appreciated if all staff members wore gloves. That same man ended up throwing some stuff away in the trash without gloves, taking somebody's order within the iPad that they have there, and then delivering them their food without any gloves. Keep in mind if you order in the restaurant your food comes in an open plate so there is a good chance that your food can come in contact with their fingers. If you order takeout it will come out in a container so it's somewhat safer but I still don't condone his actions.

Food is delicious. Best chicken in Ft. Worth. Chicken pieces are huge and the tenders were one of my favorites-also huge! If you haven’t been then you are missing out. Must go!

Gus’s is a classic! This is homemade cooking done very well. They only serve spicy style so be wary if you’re sensitive, but overall not super hot if you have a decent tolerance. The chicken comes out fast but it is still fresh and it comes out hot and crispy. Can’t go wrong with any of the sides as well as pie to finish off the meal!

Really good fried chicken with a spicy kick. We got there about a half hour before closing and the kitchen lost our order, but our server caught the mistake and we got a couple of extra wings for the extra wait. No one seemed to mind that we were still there while they closed up and our server continued to check on us. Highly, highly recommended.

Beyond disappointment! Signature dish...CHICKEN, burnt, you could smell it, dry, overcooked. Ordered seasoned fries, NO seasoning and was charged for SEASONING! Beans, straight out the can. Sitting at hospital 14 days, all we wanted was a good meal. Wrong place by all means. SO SO DISAPPOINTED and would not recommend

When I heard a Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken was coming to Fort Worth, I put the stop on the list. Just the original in Memphis, it's worth the drive and wait. The hubs and I visited on a Saturday afternoon, so it was busy. We didn't have to wait too long though. I had the mac and cheese and cole slaw with my chicken. Talk about tasty. And the chicken? There's something about hot chicken right out the fryer. The great thing is receiving consistent service and food no matter the location.

Delivery is not so good at all. They just through it in a clam shell and send it out, I guess thinking that all delivery people are trustworthy with your FOOD. Nothing is sealed or tamper resistant. Seriously, the food is spooned into a cheap clam shell and placed into a plastic shopping bag, to be thrown into the trunk of a delivery driver. Anything can happen to your order in transit. This is what happened to mine. It’s a mess. I know they have no control over the actual delivery, but they could take some precautions for their customers. Just sayin’.

Amazing fried chicken! This is definitely a spot I'd return to next time l'm in town. Tenders are juicy with a hint of spice, but just enough to keep you coming back for another bite. I love a good cole slaw and this totally hit the spot. Everything was crisp, crunchy and downright chef's kiss. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a meal here! Top notch customer service, as well.

This place was good food. Got some chicken tenders with the beans and okra. I'd never eaten here before but I'd heard good things. Our waiter was awesome. The chicken was juicy and tasty. The Mac and cheese looked great. The pie at another table looked really good too.

"If you haven't eaten at Gus's, you haven't eaten fried chicken" - plastic cup from Gus's. The chicken was great. I got the 3 piece dark plate, which consisted of 2 thighs and 1 leg. For my two sides I got cole slaw and did swapped the baked beans for the mac and cheese for an extra 50 cents. The chicken was very delicious, very juicy, very flavorful, and very well fried. Every bite made me crave it even more. I was very satisfied with the chicken and the excellent customer service that Johnny provided. I'll be back here.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! This is one of those little "hole in the wall" places that is BOMB DOT COM. I came with my Mom for lunch and we each got the 2 Piece Dark Snack and a small side (she got the mac & cheese, so creamy! I got the potato salad, a little on the sweet side but still really good). Then we split a piece of sweet potato pie and a scoop of ice cream. The chicken also came with 2 pieces of lightly toasted white bread. Overall, a really good and cheap meal!

Good spot. Kinda pricey. I got a 3 piece chicken with macaroni and fries and it came to 14 bucks. I had it before in Atlanta and it was really good. I think the chicken I got today was kind of burnt. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The place was packed when I went in though. Parking also kind of sucks.

I know literally every single chicken place claims to be the best. World famous this. Legendary that. Mostly all just hype and advertising. This place is legit some of the best chicken over ever tasted in my entire life. Amazingly juicy. Perfect crunch on the skin without being too hard or too sharp. 100% coming back.

Gus's is our favorite chicken place. So when we travel we check to see if there is a Gus's restaurant there. We don't have one near us unfortunatley. Excellent chicken! The staff unfortunately. Never had a complaint yet.

I really like Gus's and always enjoy the food. This time was no different. As I watched them full ordered I was impressed with how liberal they were, which is ALWAYS nice. And I know chains have to stick to a certain theme and have guidelines but something about this place was unique. And the gentleman who checked me out, had to have been a manager, was awesome. Personable and friendly. I'd visit again

The flavor and crispy-ness of the chicken was awesome. The decor feels like you are walking into a small hole in the wall restaurant from the 70's. The service was not all that great but it wasn't bad. Not the friendly service you'd expect coming from a place like this. There were homeless outside of restaurant asking for money. My son said the bathroom wasn't clean.

Gus's Chicken Review We had a great time. Daniel was an amazing server! I could go on and on about Daniel. He was so friendly and funny when we first got there. And he continued all night long. He was right there every time we needed him and his service was excellent. The world needs more people like him. I know they are hard to vibe by but Gus's sure does have a winner in Daniel. I wish him the best and hope he stays with them and that he makes good money in tips. He told us the chicken wasn't spicy but that it had more spice than you get with bland chain chicken restaurants. He said it wasn't hot like the places that sell the popular hit chicken these days. Ok. Sounds good. That's what I want to get. Good spicy chicken that's not bland and not too hot. That's exactly what their chicken is. It's a perfect medium spicy that is a delight to eat. It has absolutely perfect amount of spice! They nailed the flavor. It's just what I would expect from a place that says it's chicken is World Famous. It is heavenly. I will definitely be going back. They had a busy carry out business and the place was full, but never had a wait. Thumbs Up!

The food was amazing, put some of that Louisiana sauce on the chicken and it tasted delicious, the Mac and cheese was rich and thick, the okra was nice as well, the beans weren't too sweet they were good, and the cole slaw was really good.

Wasn’t the worst chicken but by no means the best. The Mac and cheese was cold and to me no flavor, the baked beans were so so. The okra taste like it was store bought the fries was the best tasting item on my plate. Now to the chicken it had a spicy flavor to it but overall taste was nothing to right home about. In my opinion Babes Chicken is way better than this. By all means try it for yourself and form your on opinion. Everyone taste buds are different. For me this isn’t my choice for chicken.

The chicken was amazing! The macaroni and cheese was 20/10 one of the best I’ve ever had! And I am a Mac and cheese snob. lol 😝 Seriously though this place is delicious and very cozy. Also have to thank Krista for her amazing service!!!!

I dined at a Gus's Famous Chicken in St. Louis and the food was delicious every time. When I moved to Fort Worth and learned there was a Gus's in Fort Worth, I went to check it out. I ordered chicken, greens, baked beans, and coleslaw with sweet potato pie for dessert. The chicken was okay. The greens tasted like frozen greens prepared without seasoning. The beans tasted and looked like pork and beans dumped straight from the can. The coleslaw and sweet potato pie were good. Disappointed and won't be returning.

The fact that the chicken is crispy without the batter is amazing. This chicken is keto friendly for those interested in that. The Mac and Cheese was delicious and so were the fries! All around great service, great food. A little pricey but worth every penny!

Hello all, me and the hubby tried Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken Restaurant this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. I had read great things online and wanted to try for myself. We both ordered the 2 piece all white meals. 1 order with double fries, and the other with slaw and mac and cheese. We also ordered an appetizer of fried okra. First of all the chicken was delicious, and seasoned perfectly however the sides were not quite as tasty. The fries were average, the slaw was way too sweet for me and the mac and cheese tasted like Kraft mac and cheese. The fried okra was simply delicious 😋. I also ordered a slice of sweet potato pie to go since the menu stated homemade desserts. The pie was ok. Overall I would definitely go back but only for the chicken and okra. Keep in mind, the above items were the only items we tried on the food menu and the restaurant offered more items. I have posted pictures for you all to view. Thank you.

We made it. We had to drive quite a bit to get here but it was well worth it. As I remembered, great chicken. Love the breading and the options they have. Really hope they will add one location in north DFW.
