My son took me here - never been before and probably drove by it a thousand times in 30 years I’ve lived here. It is a hole in the wall restaurant except it isn’t! Retro atmosphere, cozy with friendly staff. I had the best cooked omelet I’ve eaten since I was in the service. Great food and reasonably priced. Most notable was the mix of people eating here - all types; people with money, people without all enjoying the breakfast. I’m coming back and can recommend this little cafe to everyone.

A true time capsule. There were 4 waitresses and all were friendly, hard working and cooperating with each other. Customers were from to older and everyone was enjoying meals. The food was cooked perfect, plentiful servings, hot and very good. Coffee was some of the best we have had. Prices were more than reasonable. Years ago I ate here alot as I worked close. The only change was the faces. Try it.

Service is good! Ambience is great! *Little Cafe on the corner! Loved it! Detailed Review: Corner hole in the wall, expected great food! Service: Quick, to the point, very little small talk. Efficient and on point. 5/5 Environment: Very quaint, and fun for café/diner experience. Food: ordered bacon, cheese omelette, no sides. The eggs were over beaten (mixer), and that took away the texture. Bacon was perfect, cheddar was past prime. Water tasted good! Also ordered a steak, that was good. Cleanliness: Everything was simple but clean. Exception, the menu needed attention. Parking: Limited, per in front of Dickies Arena. Overall: Good for a quick bite, solid experience. Avoid the omelette.

As mentioned in other reviews this place is a hole in the wall but it is a great hole in the wall. Friendly service good food and a diverse group of diners make this a great stop for breakfast or lunch.

Cool vibe, was busy at breakfast time my food would of been good but pancakes where cool but eggs where very good..my wife's eggs and bacon, biscuits where good nothing different. Service was ok but had to wait for refills a long time. Definitely will come back to see if we get better service and food could of just been one of those mornings. A little pricey but everything is these days.

Good prices, good service, and good food. I imagine this place remains pretty similar to how it was in the 40s, which is all part of the charm. The food is pretty basic, but overall the place is great!

Cute place! We were unaware that breakfast was not being served past a certain time but we did come in at 11. The chicken fried steak lunch was good and came with a lot of food for a good price. The cheeseburger sucked (it was clearly a frozen patty) and was overpriced for not coming with a side. Overall, I’d come back but wouldn’t order the burger.

This is like a pearl in the middle of the desert or like a Time Machine ! Really nice place well maintained without losing the original stile. To be honest the best sandwich I have ever tasted, was super simple but perfectly balanced ! Attended by the owner 💯

Let me start with the food is delicious. But, I called ahead for pick up. Ordered 2 orders of biscuits and gravy, 2 orders of scrambled eggs and raisin toast. I go pick up my order and the server rungs it in. First thing I notice is she charged my 4.99 for the biscuits and gravy. I ask her about the price difference on here it says 3.99.. she says that they don't have a website, they don't run it... ok. She said she knew exactly what I ordered and could ring me up. Awesome. I pay, drive back to my work site with mine and Co workers food. Ugh no eggs... I call back explain the mishap she says it doesn't come with eggs. Yes but I still ordered them. Says if I want to drive back they can make them for me... but says I wasn't charged. But since the prices aren't right on the menu on-line I have no idea... no thank you,

Food and service were eggcelent. I travel to DFW monthly for work. This will be one of my stops while in town. Only complaint is they aren’t open on Sundays so I can eat here twice in a weekend!

Can't say enough. Been a Fort Worth kid my whole life and finally found my way in. The menu is full of classic, Texas breakfast and lunch standards that are executed hot, fresh and fast. The place immediately has a lived-in feel that makes you feel like you're a regular who has a great secret about a hidden gem. The service was at all times ahead of our needs. I got coffee the second before my brain told me I needed it every time. Honestly, our order went in and came out looking so good so fast that I didn't even get a picture of those crispy hash browns before I demolished my plate. A must-go, should-support and come-often kind of place.

This was my first time to visit Montgomery Street Cafe. The breakfast was hot, quick and fresh. The waitress was courteous and attentive with coffee pot in hand. If your looking for that old school flavor where you're not treated like another number, this is your place

Firstly, I want to give credit to MSC. Y'all have great employees and lots of good stuff on the menu. Your coffee is great! Two coworkers and I came in for the first time, and it'll be our last probably. Firstly, they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. Really? This is an old fashioned greasy spoon type of place and you don't serve breakfast after 10:30? Then, all of our food tasted like it was from a can or frozen. Their chicken fried steak is frozen, and if you don't let them defrost right, you get that shrunk down piece of meat with a giant piece of breading around it. It was a tasty frozen patty, but we could tell it was frozen. I got the steak platter with two sides. I got double fries. Gosh. They were Walmart frozen curly fries. I have the exact same bag in my freezer. I feel bad, because this is usually when you see older restaurants start to falter before closing for good. The service was excellent, and the coffee was great. However, I came to get stuffed, and all I got was disappointment. $15ish out the door for food I could've bought at Walmart and cooked it myself. Lastly. the manager/daughter was yelling at her mother/owner on the phone. She finally took it outside after the fiftieth "Mama!" I hate to leave this review, but I want y'all to succeed!

Great little diner for small groups. Food was traditional American style. Looks like they’ve been doing things the same way for decades. Do not recommend for parties larger than 4 as all tables only accommodate 4 seats. Little cramped but well worth it if you’re a small party.

It's a restaurant with a hole in the wall, but it's not! A comfortable, retro setting with nice staff. Since I was in the service, this was the greatest cooked omelet I've ever had. Delicious cuisine at a fair price.

I'm consistently impressed with this breakfast joint's quality and service. You simply must try their freshly squeezed orange juice. And let's not even talk about their amazing scrambled eggs!

It was an OK place to eat. Food wasn't bad and I know everyone has their own ways of doing things. I will be glad when my Favorite place Opens back up.

Delicious food. The Chicken fried steak special was excellent. Reasonable prices, great service. Old school Cafe done right. ✔

The food was tasty. Love supporting well established locally owned restaurants. Only downside is the music playing was too loud and its definitely compact for seating.

This place is tiny in size but huge in taste. Get there early or you will be waiting to get in. They do make a great ham and cheese omelet. Probably the best I have had in the city so far.

Wonderful traditional breakfast served by very nice waitstaff. Each pleasantly priced plate came with more than usual so you won't go away hungry. My 1st time there but it won't be my last!

My husband and I were in town for a concert at Dickie’s Arena and were staying in the surrounding neighborhood. We walked to the Montgomery Street Cafe because we always try to frequent local restaurants when we travel. This is an old school diner and it was obvious many of the patrons were regulars. We tried one of their lunch specials, which was very reasonably priced. The food was good but the service and atmosphere were exceptional! We would gladly come back for those reasons alone.

If your looking for down home kinda breakfast this is the spot. This is one of those little Gems of Ft Worth, you know, those whole in the wall restaurants!! I have lived in Ft Worth my whole life and never even knew about this place. Well no more, I will definitely be returning. The breakfast was delicious, fast and best of all cheap. My dad and I both had a full breakfast for under $15!!! The service was friendly and attention tive, this is definitely a must try!!!!

This place was awesome this morning. They have a new cook. His name is Noah and he is awesome. The food has always been good, but this morning it was great!!! Amazing service as well.

Had breakfast there on 5-21-22. The parking is difficult and the place is small and very loud inside. We can tell you that it was a fine breakfast and not that expensive. Expect a wait and that wait might be outside on the curb. Pay particular attention to all of the "no parking" signs posted around the place. They are there for a reason.

It was absolutely wonderful. Every course was well thought out and paired wonderfully. Every bite was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The space is beautiful and clean.

My favorite breakfast place in Fort Worth. Most bang for your buck and the food tastes great. Always top of my mind when I want to out for breakfast.

Awesome food..great prices..that's why they are so busy...only problem with this Cafe is that it's too small..needs to move to bigger building and watch your sales go off the charts..like I said..Awesome food, great service and good prices .

Supposed to open @ 6. At 6:20 they still hadn’t opened. I knocked & the cook came out & told me to quit knocking. He gave me no apology. The least he could have done would be to open & let me have some coffee till the waitress showed up. I finally left. Poor customer service!

Fantastic food! Great atmosphere! I walked in hungry not long before closing & they graciously wanted to seat me- such nice service! I took chicken fried steak to go & it was so so good! I'll be back!
