This is a great museum with many fascinating presentations and amazing artifacts. I highly recommend a visit. The cost is a very reasonable 7.00 and the tour is self-guided. Plan to spend about 90 minutes or so for the tour. There is a 30 min video that is good to watch before you begin. It provides the overview of the museum and the highlights the significant artifacts. Lots of incredible history in this museum, you won’t regret!

Very cool museum, well organized with the Confederates and Union divided. They even has some unique and one of a kind pieces of history. The gift shop is very reasonably priced, even cheap. The sales person was very polite and showed me the replica swords and firearms. Highly recommend visiting, only a $7 Ticket.

I was in tears seeing and reading the stories behind the uniforms and memorabilia! This museum hit me HARD and I wasn’t even expecting it. It is so extraordinary how many personal pieces and artillery/weapons are on display for us to experience. The very last exhibit included Victorian dresses on display! So fascinating to see in detail the stitching and different types of fabric that these dresses boasted. It also detailed the different bustles and corsets women used. Regarding the Museum, there is ample parking and restrooms are located near the entrance. The gift shop has cool items that are reasonably priced. It is unfortunate they will be closing in December 2023 though.

Lots of good things to see from so long ago. We found something from near where we live in NC, which was cool.

So many details for the biggest museum west of the Mississippi River. The Historical aspect of the Civil War is well documented with everything you can think of, from Artillery to Medical, Infantry and Calvary on both sides. There is a 30 min film about Texas in the Civil War, absolutely worth watching! There is also a section of dresses that women wore during that time. If you have time it's definitely worth seeing!

Great experience! Even though the video at the beginning wasn't working, the exhibits were great and they had an excellent variety of artifacts from the civil war. I definitely loved the Victorian dresses on display. This is definitely worth the visit if you are in the area!

Our first time visiting and we loved it. We spent about 4 hours here. Everything is very well taken care of and clean. I highly recommend reading everything about the artifacts, they’re so cool. My favorite was the medical equipment they used to use for amputation, etc. please research their business hours before heading over. They’re closed on Sundays so we had to come back on a Saturday but totally worth it. I highly recommend it!!!

This place is great and everyone should come here (and ASAP as I here it’s shutting down in December😞)! I’m surprised more schools don’t take field trips here but they should! This really is one of those places with something for everyone! If you like guns, cannons, knives and swords they got em! If you like dresses, shirts, skirts and dollhouses they have those too! Lots of cool artifacts with lots of history… info about war, early America, Texas and all sorts of stuff you should know… interesting, sad, comical and sobering stuff all in one big, awesome place run by super nice and knowledgeable people! They have several good videos and a cool gift shop / book store too! $7 for adults and $4 for kids age 6+ is a steal in my opinion!

It costs $7 per person 13+, $4 per child ages 6-12, and children 5 and under are free. The museum has a 30 minute movie, a room for weapons and uniforms for both sides, a room for common medical equipment carried by doctors on both sides, a room dedicated to artillery, another a section for navy campaigns, numerous flags, two displays of battles that Texans partook in, and a room with a large collection of womens dresses.

Nice experience. My first time at the museum. Lived in Texas a few years now. So glad I did. The owners were pleasant and knowledgeable . Movie in theater was entertaining and educational. Mini TV videos throughout. Large displays of artifacts, both sides of the war. Beautiful southern dresses. Sad to hear owners are retiring. Would be nice if someone were to buy museum, to continue the history of our Texas.

DON'T MISS. OUT !! This MUSEUM WILL CLOSE FOR GOOD at the End of the 2023 !!!This Museum is Top Notch!! So Impressed with the amount of history and the way the displays are set up North and South...Uniforms and Rifles and Swords..pieces of equipment carried into battle like a small bag for mending their uniforms! A whole wing of dresses from the period. It's a phenomenal museum! 😟 I just saw that this museum is CLOSING PERMANENTLY on DECEMBER 30th, 2023. It is well worth the price !!

Larger than I thought, with period fashions, guns, a sub, music. Reasonable prices for books, maps, keepsakes. Workers were helpful and friendly. Best place to teach the true story.

This was a great place! We're so glad we stopped. So much to see. Very interesting too. There's so many items to view. We weren't sure we we're going to go but the weather was rainy and cold we decided to check it out. We're so glad we did. We spent about 3 hours in there. We looked at everything. Definitely worth checking out.

This is an interesting place to visit if one is interested in history, with emphasis on the Civil War. There is a theatre located to the side of the gift shop where a short film is shown, on how brave Texas patriots entered the war. There is so much to see, 2 hours being a minimum amount of time. Also the gift shop has many items, my husband purchased a beautiful music box for me. Being new to the Ft. Worth area this was our first visit to the museum. We were very impressed with all the artifacts. A sense of honor, pride, and sorrow, was felt within us both.

Nice little museum many artifacts from the civil war era from both the North and the South and the US government. Many items have a full description is to who owned it what it was used for why it was done the way it was it was really fascinating that aspect. It isn't too big to it's something you can do within maybe an hour or two hour and a half at most depending if you watch the 30-minute movie or not. I did not agree with the mission of the Confederacy but the historical facts were still interesting is for showing what type of items that they had and things of that nature. And today's society it's interesting to see exactly how people would reuse things and repurpose things to make their lives a little bit easier

My wife and I have driven past this museum for the past 3 years we have lived in the area and today we finally decided to visit. We were able to quickly buy tickets and enter the gallery. It was amazing how much historic memorabilia they have on display. The museum is separated with the North on the left and South on the right. Some of the highlights are a cigar smoked by US Grant and a pocket knife owned by General Lee. There are detailed explanations for every artifact and it was very informative. Even my wife, who is not a huge history buff had a great time. The end of the museum contains a gallery of historic dresses that could be their own museum. We were only there of about an hour, but could have spent much more time there. It is definitely worth taking the time to visit.

Excellent and informative. Love the layout that really gives a comparison between what each side had for equipment. Also Love the women's clothing exhibit. I suggest adding some type of interactive device to let the visitor see how they might look in any of the clothing or uniforms.

Really great museum. I learned a lot. They have lots of uniforms, and women's ball gowns from the 1800s.

Wow! I've lived here for 13 years and this is the first time visiting. What a gem of a museum. It's a great layout and the exhibits have lots to see, read and explore. Definitely watch the 30 minute movie, I learned a lot from it and it gave a good backdrop with which to see the items in the museum. Will definitely be back to keep exploring.

So much information about the Civil War specifically with regards to Texas. The displays are so well thought out; the Union on the North wall and the Confederacy on the South wall. The collection of Civil War and Antebellum period are amazing and a fascinating record of history. One of my favorite parts are the signs on the wall that compare the resources of the Southern and Northern states. A great experience from age 7-46!

Very cool place. The clothing alone was worth going in for. Highly detailed beautiful and classy wear for the ladies. I took quite a few pics. The rifles and revolvers were beautiful pieces of craftsmanship.
