We came here in celebration of my son’s birthday. The man who runs the cash register was so friendly! He might have been one of the best parts of the entire experience! He has so many fascinating stories to share. I highly recommend taking your time and letting him tell you all the anecdotes about each plane and the people who care for them. They have one of the original airplanes used in the top gun movie which was pretty cool to see. In addition to that, they have a varied and extensive collection of planes we had never seen before at other air museums. I was impressed by how many they managed to fit on their property. They also have several interesting helicopters. Inside they have a wealth of military artifacts on display along with lots of aviation model planes. The bathrooms are accessible to all and clean. It was an incredible experience shared by people who obviously care a great deal about what they are doing. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Such a great place to take the family. The aviation history in Fort Worth is very rich. Did y'all know that we trained WWI pilots? I didn't, until I visited the museum. There are volunteer veterans there that are INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. It's an honor learning from them. The kiddos will love the interactive displays they have. I was so focused on learning from a vet, I almost forgot they had static aircraft outside! What an amazing collection! I really appreciate their passion for restoration for the public. They love the OV-10 Bronco, which was an unsung hero during Vietnam. The pilots were incredibly brave. On Amazon, they'll donate a portion of purchases to one of the charities they have listed. The OV-10 Bronco Foundation is on there. Please use that to help these guys out!

This is my second visit to this museum. I came here for the 1 st time about 5 years ago. They have added many more planes here and they told me they will have more by the end of the summer. It is a great place to visit and I really recommend that you stop by if you have time. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they really know their stuff. I support our service men and women and you can to by visiting this museum. It’s only $8 for adults but you can save $2 each ticket if you go online and pre pay.

Smaller than expected, however, they are getting ready to expand. We spoke with Scott Stoddard, who is one of the volunteer tour guides. Retired Air Force from the Vietnam Era. He was very knowledgeable and interesting to speak with. Thank you, sir, for your service to our country and to the museum.

Very interesting and wide variety of aircraft! The docents are really nice and gave my son and I lots of information about the Bronco airplanes. Affordable and a great little museum in my hometown! Can’t wait to see what they add!

Throughly enjoyed this place. Took my son to see the planes and he had a blast being able to see them up close. As well as touch them. Also planes are constantly coming and going from the airport. Great little indoor museum and the staff are always willing to talk to you about the planes and other plane related happenings in the fort worth area. Will most certainly be back to this place. Pro tip, buy your tickets online. They are slightly cheaper.

Wow...! My 17 yo and I went in (early) to check out the museum. Mr. Akers took us around on the most amazing tour of our country's planes and artifacts. I'm so grateful to meet the crew at the museum who showed us what pieces meant to them and how they impacted our country. Super hot day. Wear sunblock and bring waters. There are at least 30 aircraft and it's hands on!

Great aircraft and a bunch of nice guys running the place. Took my 12 year old daughter, she loved it. The F-5E on display is one of the ones from Top Gun, but repainted as an aggressor. There is an A-12 too, never thought I'd ever see one of those and didn't know any parts still existed. One F-14D on display, pretty awesome and in amazing condition. The displays and history inside the building is also a must see. If you can go, please do.

This place is a true gem of a museum. They have a considerable amount of military aircraft to see up close. You’re even allowed to touch them as you walk up to them. One plane was a cargo plane that we were allowed to step inside into the cockpit. John was our tour guide and he was phenomenal - very knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about what he does. We couldn’t have been more impressed as he helped ensure we had an incredible experience. We didn’t expect a guided tour but were very pleased to have been offered one. Fighter jets include the F-14 Tomcat, FA-18 Hornet, the F-4, and much more. There are smaller exhibits of military aircraft history inside as well. There is also a fairly small gift shop, the number of available souvenirs is limited but we were still able to find both a pin and a model of an F-14 to take home, and the gift shop is another great way to support this gem of a museum.

A wonderful place if you are an aviation enthusiast. When they say you can just go up and touch the planes, they really do mean it, and just that alone is a rare chance for anyone. All of the guides were incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, mostly ex-pilots themselves and understand the planes from top to bottom. Even though it looks small, it has heart.

Great place to go explore and see up close. Highly recommended going during fall or wait until it's not so hot. Great people/veterans and workers to talk with.

This place has many different planes to see! The planes are fascinating to explore and look at. They’re extremely friendly and will educate you if you have any questions about the planes without hesitation. You’ll love the many planes that you can view on the inside. The gift shop also has many toys shirts and other great gifts! I would definitely love to explore here again in the future.

We really enjoyed this place. The kids love the fact that you can touch all of the airplanes. The employees are super nice and offer tours.

This place is so rich in information that even small space can tell you abundance details. Liked the simulater and mock cockpit setup. Details to activities, events and flying experience will give history facts. The planes/helicopter are unique and different in all aspects. They also prepare models / replicas to last known planes to make it rememberable. Nice how the team maintains it, Kudos to that.

Fort Worth Aviation Museum is about the history of Aviation in Fort Worth and North Texas area since the early 1900s. A nice collection of warplanes and helicopters. You can walk around yourself or they do have veterans that work there that would be more than happy to give you a tour and history about the place. If you're a history buff about this kind of stuff I highly recommend it for adults and kids. Take a camera for some great pictures, you'll spend about an hour to an hour and half tops. Rates vary to get in for adults and kids but basically under $10 per person. Check it out and have fun!

I’m from South Carolina and I travel a lot. Over the years I have been to a few museums, but not nearly as good as this one. Ft. Worth holds a special meaning to me as that’s where my dad was stationed in the 1950’s. I went to the museum to try and find more history on his service and what he did working on B-36 bombers. After looking at some of the B-36 artifacts I toured the aircraft outside. Each aircraft there has an amazing story, each volunteer is very knowledgeable about the history of the aircraft and many of them even served in the military and flew some of these aircraft. Some of the volunteers there also have a special connection to real military hero’s and Medal of Honor recipients. One young volunteer in particular has a truly amazing story, so if you’re ever there on a weekend ask for Angela. You will not be disappointed.

Decent enough collection to warrant a visit. Interesting exhibits inside the little museum building as well. The B-36 was relocated around 2010 to 2012 time frame, so that really shouldn't be listed as an attraction any longer.

Inside and outside Museum. Volunteer guide with great knowledge and wonderful personal war stories. Temp was mid 70's so beautiful and leisure walk thru large variety of planes. May not have been as much fun in summer heat. Donations appreciated to keep museum able to keep adding items. So great!!

A hidden gem in Fort Worth with SO many retired aircraft on site. My kids loved getting up close to the planes and helicopters and enjoyed activities inside the museum like the flight simulator. We were there about an hour and a half with us taking our time. The docents are really fun too!

Absolutely fantastic experience. All staff were very passionate about the history and museum itself. They were so incredibly accommodating despite preparing for their “Hops and Props” event, and still managed to support a group of five with three dedicated docents. The stories and history provided a unique look at what I’d consider the less looked at side of aviation. Docents provided insight into the Forward Air Controller life, along with flying the C-7, T-38, and T-37 aircraft. I especially enjoyed the extraordinarily rare A-12 Avenger II mockup, and the explanation of airport firefighting and rescue, with the O-11A crash truck serving as an incredible backdrop to the tales. Thank you for the best Fort Worth Aviation experience! A must see for any enthusiast.

What the h*ll kind of a museum is only open for a few hours on weekends? I purchased a groupon that we didn't even get to go because our toddler naps in the afternoons so always try to plan stuff for after his naps. I never leave bad reviews, but seriously? Only on weekends and only for a few hours? How are you making money?

First time going was during their annual Hops and Props event. It was awesome. It’s a small air museum but the staff was excellent, the planes were awesome, and the vendors that came were from all over the place. It was a well done event. We also had the opportunity to fly on a WWII C-47. Definitely worth a visit and worth your time speaking with the volunteers that flew on some of these iconic aircraft.

What a gem?! My 9 yr old loved seeing, touching and walking on the planes. The guided tour was very nice, as well.

I had no idea this place existed! It's really fun to get up close and personal to some America's air craft and touch them, look in cockpits, and through engine bays. Lots of amazing history told and experienced by the staff. I strongly encourage a personal tour from in of the volunteers. Some have flown the very aircraft on the premises. There's even a movie star plane from Top Gun.

If you love aviation, planes and fighter jets, this is the place in Fort Worth. They have many fight jets restored and helicopters. You can touch them and experience it. Friendly staff too. They are only open on Saturdays and Sundays for few hours so plan your visit. Worth it for $7

My 14-year-old son and I absolutely geeked out over the aircraft. I had only recently learned about the OV-10 Bronco, and to have the chance to really touch and see multiple versions, as well as the original mock-up, was a treat. We were surprised by the amount of warfighters that were there, and though we showed up to just meander about, we were met outside by Mike and received a full tour of the aircraft and their heritage. Angela provided her personal history on her father's service--Medal of Honor winner and Bronco pilot Steven L. Bennet--and Jim Hodgson, the executive director, was kind enough to share his knowledge as a Bronco and F-4 Phantom pilot. We might have just hit the jackpot, being some of the first ones early on a Saturday morning, but it is very evident that everyone there has a passion for the museum and Aviation history. Thank you, again! It has made for a wonderful father-son journey.
