We walked for miles and saw many creatures (birds, butterfly, turtles, dragonflies, texas spiny lizards, and beetles). Excellent place to hike but trails are uneven in areas with steep hills, so it can be challenging.

Eagle mountain has some really nice and easy walking trails. There are some a little more advanced but for the most part the trail is well maintained. There are a bunch of side trails so be wary if you are not prepared. Most of the routes go near the water at some point some even have ways to get down to a beach area. The maps are... Not 100% accurate they are a little harder to understand at first but once you have been once it's easier. The maps on the trail itself are better than the main one. Some places are shaded but many spots aren't so I recommend going early in the morning or at dusk during the summer or hot days. Bring lots of water (I recommend a water pack) because there are decent elevation changes and lots of sun exposure.

Clean and Easy Hiking Trails for the Entire Family! Perfect location. Easy access to miles of trails and scenic views. You can go from the highest to lowest elevation easily in just a few minutes. We’ll manicured grounds and Groomed trails. Saturday mornings are busy but they recently expanded the parking lot so plenty of room to get in and out! Restrooms are located on site and are maintained through the season. Get outside everyone! Enjoy!

I visited and did about 3.5 miles in a trail, it was delightful! Fun varied paths, goes by the lake where you can see the view and go in the water if you want. I was only visiting Texas but I would definitely make this a regular spot if I lived here!

This park was serene and beautiful. There are plenty of trails. It was very shady and cool in the summer morning but got very hot and sunny by 11AM. Wear sunscreen, bring a water bottle, and enjoy the views! I had a great time.

This hike is very pretty , At the trail head you can go right or left . The right route will give you more of a flat trail with less terrain. It is a longer hike, maybe a few miles . It still takes you to the lake. The left route takes you on more of a terrain , more hilly trail. The left trail takes you to the abandoned boat. " The Pursuit of Happiness " is the name of it. I'm not sure but maybe you could google the name for information. All around this is a great trail especially for Texas.

Wonderful park. Plan on returning again. I really liked getting by the lake. All the faculties are new. From short trail to picnic table area or all-day hike, plenty to enjoy.

There isn't a lot of amazing hiking around the DFW area. I have been going up there for work for years and usually end up working out in the hotel gym. This time I found a spot on the north west side of the Metro and gave it a chance. There isn't a lot of elevation gains or anything, but it's got a couple short spots of uphillness. I saw animals every weekday I went, armadillo and deer. The bugs weren't too bad and it does have some great views. Pretty impossible to get lost, though there are some branching paths. Definitely a top spot to get some outdoor exercise.

Great trail to hike or run. Been coming out here for years. The trail got some more attention after covid and they added more parking which was very helpful. The bad thing is no one respects the rules of the trail and the TWD are never there to do anything about this. Including dogs on trails (it's a nature preserve people leave your dogs at home!) and trash along the trails. Always come back with trash in my hands. They also have been neglecting the trees and tall grass along the trails. Multiple tree branches to dodge hanging in the trail and fallen trees in the trail. This park is going downhill FAST!

A very good place for treaking. Around 7 Miles track through uneven terrain. Cactus, deers and lot more. In-between, during the treak you can find paths leads to lake. Pets are not allowed. Entry and parking are free. Toilets are tub/ plastic container type. No restaurant at this place. So it's better carry your food and water. I visited this place in October on a Sunday morning around 7.30 am.

Great hiking area for folks from the North Fort Worth area. Trails are well maintained. There are maps spread throughout the area. I would appreciate more poles with the trail colors as you come to intersections with three paths and it is a guessing game which path leads where. The porta pottys were a bit messy, but supplied with toilet paper. There are roofed picking areas. Nature is left untouched which creates interesting scenery. Dogs are not allowed.

Great running trail! The bathrooms at the front needed cleaning but the ones on the trail were super clean! Great for sprinters as well it has almost a 665.9ft elevation difference for the whole 10mile course I do believe. Super worth it and Super cool views. Great sprinting location for workouts as well.

Number of trails to choose from, only complaint is they are not clearly marked at the beginning of the trails, markers can be found through out the trails though. Great views and nice beaches too, to spend some time and rest after the long trails.

This is my favorite hiking place. Also great place to fish. Beautiful scenery. There's restrooms at the beginning of the trail but you'll have to hike a long way to find more if not none further along the trails. There is picnic tables but you'll have to hike a long way to get there but once there it's a beautiful site.

A great park for moderate hiking. Dont underestimate the amount of water you will need for summer hikes. Great forest-y trails and beautiful trails that run the coast the lake. We play a game and watch out for lizards...😁

A very popular park with about 8 miles of official trails. Does not allow dogs. Lake views and porta potties. Plenty of maps located at most junctions. There are also some unofficial trails. Watch out for runners.

I've been going to this spot to start my hobby of hiking. It's a good start for beginners and the view is pretty nice to see the water. The map for all trails is accurate and simple. Throughout the trails there are benches along the way if you need a rest. All and all it's a great place to go solo or in a group.
