If,
like
me,
you
are
subject
to
staying
at
this
hotel
because
it
is
one
of
the
few
places
with
availability,
it
is
with
good
reason.
First,
let
me
state
the
positive.
The
location
is
fabulous,
right
on
the
river
with
beautiful
views
of
the
Cincinnati
skyline
at
night.
(Spend
the
extra
$10
and
pay
for
the
view.)
The
hotel
is
also
within
walking
distance
of
Newport
on
the
Levee,
fine
dining,
and
even
Cincinnati,
if
you
don't
mind
an
almost
2
mile
walk.
Otherwise,
there
is
a
shuttle
that
stops
right
in
front
and
for
only
$1
takes
you
over
the
bridge.
(We
used
it
to
get
to
Great
American
Ballpark.)
The
other
big
plus
is
free
parking
at
the
hotel,
and
some
of
it
is
covered.
Sadly,
those
are
all
"exterior"
pluses.
The
interior
of
the
hotel
is
what
accounts
for
my
not-so-stellar
rating.
The
lobby
of
the
hotel
is
very
small.
The
breakfast
room
was
ample
as
well
as
the
food.
However,
the
housekeeping
leaves
a
lot
to
be
desired.
I
cannot
for
the
life
of
me
understand
why
this
hotel
gives
disposable
coffee
cups
at
breakfast
that
are
individually-wrapped
for
sanitary
reasons,
but
does
not
use
liners
in
the
in-room
garbage
pails.
I
was
absolutely
skeeved!
The
bathroom
garbage
pail
looked
as
if
someone
had
cleaned
their
razor
in
it
and
there
was
a
sticky
substance
on
the
bottom
as
well.
The
garage
pail
in
the
bedroom
had
remnants
of
tissue
or
paper
in
it.
Not
sanitary
by
any
means!
I
asked
the
front
desk
if
this
was
an
usual
practice.
The
one
clerk
answered
that
it
was
at
her
old
hotel.
Then
she
said
the
housekeepers
wipe
the
pails
out.
The
other
didn't
even
look
up
at
me.
I
asked
for
plastic
bags
to
line
the
pails,
and
they
had
none.
The
one
clerk
gave
me
a
liner
that
was
for
a
large
garbage
can.
I
ended-up
using
it
for
my
dirty
laundry
and
using
the
dirty
laundry
bag
in
the
room
to
line
one
pail
and
a
disposable
bag
that
I
had
with
me
from
a
purchase
to
line
the
other.
In
general,
the
housekeeping
was
not
good.
The
room
smelled
stale,
as
if
there
had
been
a
dog
in
it.
But,
the
hotel
is
not
pet-friendly.
The
rug
had
threads
all
over
it,
as
if
the
vacuum
used
was
full
and
spitting-out
stuff
that
was
already
vacuumed.
And,
the
shower
could
have
been
cleaner
Also,
there
was
literally
about
five
sheets
of
toilet
paper
left
on
the
roll
and
about
three
tissues
left
in
the
box.
Is
it
too
much
to
ask
to
replace
with
new,
when
the
room
is
being
turned-over?
The
other
big
minus:
there
is
no
top
sheet
on
the
bed.
I
know
these
are
all
first-world
problems.
But,
probably
like
you,
I
work
hard
for
my
money.
And,
for
that
money,
the
in-room
experience
could
have
been
a
lot
better.
Thank
you
for

this
review.
