I guess I was expecting a bit too much? I'm a huge burger fan and our family genuinely chases gourmet burgers. When we heard about Jacks, we thought it'd be a bullseye for us. First it is in a really "diner" setting. Something about this was a bit of a turn off. Not sure what we were expecting but somehow it felt that it cheapened everything. Burger came in great but not mind-blowing. The bun was fine, but the patty had just a tad bit of wateryness. You want your burgers to be juicy with fat and not watery as it takes away the flavor intensity. Perhaps they should've smashed it a bit to make the outer layer crispy or squeeze the ground beef a bit more? Not sure but that thick watery slight blandness broke the illusion. And yes, french fries can always use some more salt. Can't fault this place, but at that price point, for a burger, I'd go to Five Guys any day. Yes, you get to sit with a beer and be served by friendly staff. So I guess that's a premium.

Finally decided to stop in for lunch and, man, what a treat. Friendly service, quick turnaround and awesome burgers. They're also generous with their fries. Definitely coming back when I wanna get my diner burger fix

Never had a bad experience here. Classic American food items that are always well seasoned and cooked, friendly and efficient service, and laid back atmosphere and ambience. The parking lot is on the small side, and be careful parking on El Camino as it is a very busy street. Great place for kids!

One of the best, if not THE best, burger and shake joints in the Bay Area. Burgers are cooked to absolute perfection and super fresh and juicy. The buns are soft and the sides are all tasty. Delicious. The shakes are super creamy and clean. We had the chocolate peanut butter and the salted caramel on the way out, and they were the thickest and smoothest I've ever had. The simple, small and easy selection of draft beer and wine is also good for those who have trouble deciding. The cleanliness of the diner is astounding and the service is utterly top notch. Linda is wonderful! The booth tables were very long and can accommodate 6 diners comfortably, or super spacious for 4 or 2. There are plexiglass dividers between booths for comfort and safety. My new favorite burger spot. I can't believe I hadn't eaten here before. When it comes to the many burger places around, you haven't found your favorite until you at least try this place. It's an absolute must. 🍔🍺👑👌🏾

One of the BEST burgers we have ever had. We always wanted to try this place and we finally had a chance to. We walked 45 minutes from our house, was seated right away by the sweetest hostess ever. I asked what she would recommend for the burgers and she showed me which burgers were savory, sweet, sweet-spicy, and if you want a lighter option, there’s the chicken sandwiches. We ordered the fried dill pickles for an appetizer and got the ultimate bacon + upgrade to onion rings, and the Whiskey Town + regular fries. The fried pickles were HUGE. They were so delicious. They were in a beer batter and super crunchy and fluffy and then you get the tangy pickle inside. We had leftovers to bring home. The BURGERS: The ultimate bacon was perfect, it had a very bacony taste, like maybe bacon fat was used to grill the patty or something. The American Buns were out of this world, soft, fluffy, and sweet bun. The lettuce and tomato worked so well to offset the bacon grease. The whiskey town was sweet from the caramelized onions, it had plenty of mushrooms inside. The bun was so so so goood!!! We love burgers and are always down to try burger spots. This place exceeded our expectations and we would love to come again to try a different burger!!

Food was good (had Irish fries and the chicken sandwich and subbed dill pickle for sweet as recommended by the waitress), service was stellar, and the atmosphere was nice (holiday vibes, family friendly). Quick service, good value- left full. 😀 Parking wasn't an issue for us, however, I could see where it might be during peak times (we were there on a Friday evening).

Awesome spot. The food is great they give enormous portions so be careful what you order as a side the milkshake was fantastic and also comes in a double portion. Location is very easy to find and there's plenty of parking. very family-friendly place with plenty of seating and very fast energetic service, wish we had something like this back home in Nashville.

I had a chopped chicken meal salad, and it was quite big and enough to fill me up. My friends had the Prime burger and they looked big and very good. Casual dining. Only down side is the parking area is small.

This place is spacious inside with its own parking right in the front. It was clean, and the service was great without having to wait in line. The burgers were tender and juicy, but the sauce was on the sweeter side. So it covered the flavor of other ingredients. The bun was soft and fluffy which was the right size to grab on to without ingredients falling out on the side. The burgers were a bit smaller than what I'm used to, so I was still a bit hungry after I finished the fries, and I'm not an even big eater. The fries were okay and not much to it. They were thick cut but the outside wasn't cripsy and a bit hard on the inside. Overall, this place offers burgers that are better than many other restaurants but I would try to avoid the ones that are sweet.

Definitely a good place for burgers! Had the Great with Beer and Whiskey Town Express, two burgers with it's own unique features. Loved the bourbon-glazed onions which gave a nice sweet balance to the whiskey town express and the deep fried pickles on the great with beer which went really well with the mushrooms and swiss cheese. Will come back again to try the desserts and shakes.

This is one of those classic kind of diners in the best way possible. Parking can get a little tight, but not too bad (it's right on the busy El Camino road). The place itself is clean, comfy and definitely gives off that old-school diner feel. Booths are also clean and the traditional bar seating allows you to watch the chefs do their thing if you feel like it. The food was outstanding! My medium-well burger was nicely presented with care on the plate, cooked perfectly to specifications and with a portion big enough to challenge any appetite. No cheapskate burgers here! The fries were fredh, hot and golden (the large kind) and the shakes are classic style (with that awesome silver extra cup too!) with a heck of a selection of flavors (loved every sip of the chocolate/peanut butter for my outing). The staff was courteous, friendly and added to the relaxing atmosphere you look for in a diner setting (no hovering or rushing). Fast and attentive service (you'll have a full drink on the table throughout) and no rush to get anyone out the door. All in all, it's a little bit more expensive than other diners (NOT 5 Guys expensive) but the quality and service are worth every cent. I will definitely try to make a stop here more often.

The food is great, we've been going there since they opened. The food and service have always been consistent. Why one star, well it seems like they have gotten deceptive / greedy. On our last visit (12-22-2022) we payed cash as usual for our meal and just now we were reviewing receipts for the week and noticed that we were charged an extra 2.99% for using a credit card, which we did not. So this is a warning to others who might pay cash check your receipt they will most likely charge you for this and pocket the money!!!! Very disappointed at Jacks for doing this. Just wanted to update. The GM promptly reached out to me to gather some more facts and offered a refund for the charge. They will look into it to make sure that it was simply a mistake, so I am satisfied. I would also just like to restate that Jacks has always offered a great meal, is family friendly and is also a great place to take a date for a burger and fries. Oh and the milk shakes are great too. I'm changing the star rating form 1 to 4 to reflect the quick response I received from the management and their willingness to look into the matter.

the patty was cooked very nicely, and it was very filling:) The sweet potato fries were not that amazing, but the regular fries were pretty decent

Gluten free french fries since they have a dedicated fryer!! The burgers are good but could use a bit more salt for my taste Nice covered outdoor eating area.

Great throwback atmosphere; friendly wait staff; amazing portions for the sides; strawberry milkshake and root beer float were fantastic; burger was relatively small (6oz.) and unfortunately dry; and batter on sides was too thick and consequently too greasy. Overall fun experience, particularly for all the kids that came in after an afternoon of sports and games.

Decided to come here for dinner after work with honey before going back to the East Bay. When we arrived, we were seated right away. Our waitress provided great service our entire time there. Our food was very hot, fresh, and homemade. Recommend the onion rings and their shakes. If ever wanting a burger again I would totally return here.

Solid Burger joint and great for kids. Their shakes are great too old school in the metal cup with a nice selection of flavors, my son loves the mint cookies. The salads are great too. French fries and onion rings are good too. I wish some place would make steak fries again, but that’s just me. Most of the seating is in booths which is great for kids that are always dropping stuff. The staff is super friendly and the food kitchen staff is efficient with good quality food. The bacon cheeseburger is my go to, kids love the grilled cheese and the sliders. The sliders are good quality, better than a lot of other places. I’m a little bored with the menu, but overall I give it 5 stars.

Jack’s Prime has been my favorite haunt for burgers and a shake for the past 5 years. I used to work nearby and would visit for lunch. They’ve upkept a seasonal menu that includes interesting burgers of the month paired with various sides or beers. I’ve never had a bad meal, and the service has always been kind and appreciative of my patronage. I now live farther away but the wifey and I routinely try to visit from time to time when we need a moment of nostalgia from a favorite date spot. Todays visit was special and they have some new additions to the team who made us feel happy to be there. Here’s to 50 more.

I door dashed a Whiskeytown express burger with fries and a large strawberry lemonade. Amber was actually raw when I got it I took one bite and had to spit it out. The french fries were very greasy, and I never received my strawberry lemonade. The prices in my opinion are way too high for the quality of food that they’re serving. The only reason they got a star is because the DoorDash driver was very friendly and polite and got my food to me. While it was still hot.
