It’s a decent sized museum, but I didn’t feel that it was worth $12 for an adult. Kids from 5 to 17 of age is $6 and kids 5 years old and under is free. The parking is also free. The museum is located right next to the John Wayne Airport so you also get to frequently see airplanes take off and land. Kids love watching this! The whole collection and the history was well organized. You’re not allowed to touch most of the cars or airplanes. But they do have a section where you can sit on the jeeps and sit inside the pilot area. My kid loves to try new things and test things out. So she literally just stayed in this area most of the time there.

Great little museum. The displays are well done with a ton of history. The big doors look out on the runway where planes are landing and taking off regularly. We were short on time so this worked out perfectly. Not too many planes to look at and the kids didn’t lose interest.

Its a little hidden museum but well worth it. You can take lots of pictures and you can even see airplanes take off from the airport. They also have some very cool cars on display.

Very nice air museum! Right next to an airport so you can see planes flying in and out (so be prepared for noise). The cashier was very nice and the establishment is very clean! Plenty to see and read.

Such a great small air museum. Lots of great WWII aircraft in great condition. The staff were super friendly and I took some time to walk around and listen to their knowledge. I came for the airplanes but there is a lot of motorcycles, cars, and other memorabilia. All the vehicles are in working condition unlike other air museums were pieces are static, any of the planes could be rolled out and flown as long as a pilot knows how.

Lyon Air Museum is an aircraft museum that exhibit a collection of authentic aircraft, rare vehicles, and war memorabilia of the 20th century. It is base at John Wayne Airport in OC. Founded by Maj Gen Will Lyon, this 30,000 sq ft museum houses a fleet of operational aircraft and vehicles-jeeps, cars & motorcycles. Admission ticket was $14 bucks. Museum was very organized and extremely clean. Most of the museum volunteers were former USAF officers and pilots. They bring a breadth of knowledge and experience about the aircraft and the WW2. You can spent 30 mins to see the entire museum but I spent 2 hrs just because I love aviation. Overall, I like LAM and I recommend you visit.

Enjoyed my trip to the Lyon Air Museum immensely last Saturday to hear about the Doolittle Raid and see and hear a Mitchell B25 start up and flight. It was an awe inspiring experience and the pilot put on a great flying show. It was also wonderful to hear Doolittle's Granddaughter, Jonna Doolittle Hoppes add some human interest to the story of the raid. Everybody at the Museum was friendly and eager to help. Highly recommended.

One of the best air museums in town, parking is a bit small. Staff is friendly and welcoming. One of the main attractions is the Mercedes Benz that was used by the Führer Adolf Hitler. They also have an airplane cabin where kids can be kids. Also the movie theater is great, not only because is the only place with AC but because you get to learn about the hot rods or the history of the museum itself. Overall highly recommend.

Wow! My babies had so much fun! It's right on the airport runway so you can see planes touching down and taking off! They have amazingly preserved WWII aircraft! We loved the interactive exhibit! The babies were able to sit in the cockpit and push the buttons and ride in the jeeps!

Pretty awesome air museum right next to John Wayne Airport. I got my tickets off Groupon. You get them a bit cheaper that way. You are able to see inside some of the aircrafts which is pretty awesome. This place is a decent size but it gets a little hott and sticky inside. The sounds of the plans taking off next door is pretty great too. You get front row seat watching them leave the airport. Most definitely recommend if you are in the area or passing through

We went on a lark and it was really wonderful. I took my five-year-old granddaughter and she just loved it. They have done an incredible job of preserving part of our American history.

A High-Flying Adventure at Lyon Air Museum The Lyon Air Museum, located in the heart of Orange County, is a unique blend of aviation history and interactive exhibits that make it a perfect destination for family outings. From the moment you step in, you're immersed in a world of aviation wonders. The museum does an impeccable job of creating an engaging environment for all age groups. The exhibits are not just informative, but also interactive, which adds an element of fun to the learning experience. One of the highlights for the children was undoubtedly the opportunity to sit in vintage cars and pretend to pilot an airplane. This hands-on approach makes the museum an active experience, rather than a passive one. It’s not just about viewing exhibits; it's about becoming a part of them. What sets the Lyon Air Museum apart is its location right next to an active runway. The chance to watch airplanes take off and land in real-time is a rare treat, not just for the kids but for adults as well. It adds a sense of real-world connection to the historical exhibits inside the museum. In summary, Lyon Air Museum offers a comprehensive and exciting exploration of aviation history. The combination of well-curated exhibits, interactive experiences, and the unique runway view creates a memorable visit. It's a spot that offers both education and entertainment, making it a wonderful choice for a family day out. Rating: ★★★★★

A small air museum situated next to the John Wayne Airport. Cost $14, it took me around an hour to see the various plane and aircraft exhibits from WWII. If your in the area its worth dropping in to see them, you also gave a good view of the main airports runway.

Nice exhibits. Amazed at some of the historical cars and planes in their collection. The B-17 tour is incredible with insightful explanations provided by the well-informed staff, some of whom are veterans who have first-hand experience and good stories.

We are so thankful for their service! The employees are wonderful . This day was a special event to actually go inside two planes. Thank you to all involved to offer this for kids to experience the history.

My grandson and his best friend loved this museum. The kids absorbed the history seeing the actual planes, cars surplus designs, and especially being able to hear the history from actual service men who lived through the period. We are so thankful for their service! The employees are wonderful . This day was a special event to actually go inside two planes. Thank you to all involved to offer this for kids to experience the history. Thank you to Cathy who explained the membership which I highly recommend. Keep up the good work.

If you love world war 2 and history, this place is paradise on earth! I love every second here, possibly leaving my wife home next time so I can spend all day here! My wife, who does not take a slight interest in airplanes found herself enjoying her time at Lyon air museum! Last but most importantly, JOHN followed us around and was able to tell us so much great information and made this experience 10x better, thank you for your time and your service John!

Wonderful air museum down by John Wayne airport. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming to everyone. We’re in town celebrating a special occasion and they went above and beyond to make it that much more special. The aircrafts and the current drag car exhibit are awesome to look at, and definitely worth the price of admission to see! Highly suggest visiting, they’re very nice folks!
