The hospital failed to notify my family that they were planning to move my 84 year old grandmother to a nursing home. She lives at home with our family (not a nursing home!!). We called the hospital every day for updates and they assured us that they would give us a call when she would be ready for discharge. They didn’t even ask permission from my family to move her. How is that acceptable? My grandma doesn’t even speak English. If the nursing home had not called us that night, we would have not even know. This hospital is so disorganized and completely lacks regard for families. I was willing to turn a blind eye to being transferred to multiple lines and being placed on hold for inordinate amounts of time but to not even be informed that my grandmother was being transferred to a different facility is unacceptable!!! What kind of hospital is this? Why is the case manager not notifying us? The hospital had no issue of calling us at 3am asking for details regarding my grandmother but couldn’t even have the decency to call us for this.

Visiting my mother the past 6 days been a nightmare by the security. From waiting outside in the 90 plus heat, while there’s zero other person waiting, while they look up my mom name, room #, my vaccinations proof, check my bag ((which if fine and normal procedures), but do it in the lobby especially when they’re going to repeat it all again inside, four securities mingling in the A/C & inconsiderate. Their supervisor a shorter old man white hair & gold glasses frame is super manipulating & rude. Today I came to pick up my mom for discharge, after the same scenario on top of if, mr. Gold eye glasses frame called his manager (I’m assuming) a tall preppy man that was already given a framed concept of how irritable I was, after I got my visitor badge and being checked by three securities, mr golden eyeglass frame had an urge & joy to add to the situation by sarcastically & a smerky laugh saying have a good day, hopefully the hospital have cameras, because he encouraged me to stop, turn around & reply with my 2cents but rapidly mr preppy his talk manager asked me to leave, this is when I took off from work, drove 45 miles, waited in the heated, got checked by security 3 times, tolerated that old man arrogance & manipulation for six days. And the pure nonsense b…s… is that I could not pick up my mother, they were ready to call for an ambulance to discharge her with her hospital gown, until I came down I called the case manager & told her to pick up my mother clothe, I’m parked outside & I’m waiting for my 76 yrs old mom to be discharged on her birthday in such an awful moral after her stay & to save her from being humiliated by being discharged with her hospital gown & driven home by an ambulance (not sure who is paying THAT bill) but as long as their preppy arrogant security supervisor & manager are content. What a ……. Experience. Great place to be spoiled be pampered & work but not to have a dear family member humiliated & disrespecting family members & their moral & circumstances….

Horrible Hospital, my mom would be taken there by the ambulance and would always come back home in a worse condition that when she left. They would always seem to neglect her, and the fact that this woman would go to different hospitals and never complain yet only complain about this one says a lot. Should could go in for something that every other Hospital treats in a week and yet when she would go here, would take them a month and that's if we aren't trying to take her out of the hospital. Instead of treating her they'd always have her sedated the entire time she was there. She unfortunately passed in their care and I know had she gone to a different hospital instead she would have had a higher chance of living, maybe disabled but living. If you can avoid this hospital like the plague. It's not worth the convenience if your loved one isn't necessarily being taken care of in this hospital.

My mom was hospitalized here for Covid for 2 whole months. I called every single day sometimes 3-4 times a day so anxious to know how she was doing. All of those times I called, I was treated with respect and by very nice nurses who cared for my mom. Although visiting was restricted, some nurses were so kind to let me see her from the hallway a couple times. Her Doctor was very kind and called almost every day even if there was no update. I found this very painful experience to be a little smoother on us by all the staff who were kind, compassionate, caring. Thank you to all the ICU team for caring for my mom for 8 long weeks. My heart will forever be grateful.

My father is still there, but will be leaving tomorrow. The nurse said they had a lot of call-out calls (Mothers Day) and left them to 1 nurse for the whole floor! The staff clearly dont know the visiting hours or protocol (one said 7am to 5pm, hospital operator said 11am to 6pm), or know the visiting protocol (one said one visitor at a time but multiple people can come, operator said 2 visitors per patient for the whole day, nurse said its 1 visitor per patient for the whole day). My father has not been getting the care he needs! I already have a bone to pick with LAFC for taking him there when they said they were taking him to Kaiser. I work at a County Hospital and know the Covid struggles but this is clearly unacceptable! You get one star but Brittany, RN in ER deserves 10 stars! She was the absolute best and so beyond helpful! You have staff like her that deserve the appreciation! Administration will be hearing from me!

Front desk is rude. The only decent and helpful worker was a male nurse who swabbed my nose for Covid and the Flu and he did so very carefully. He was also very patient and kind. I had another male nurse say that there were other more "important" patients that needed to be treated. I think we are ALL important and we need to be treated with respect and efficiency not rudeness or harshness. Everyone deserves kindness and respect. And the front desk should take some classes in customer service and basic human ethics.

I wish there were ratings differentiating the departments. This rating is due to the staff at the entrance to the hospital as well as the way the Medical Records department is just not helpful. The staff in the ER, ICU and most hospital staff are genuinely amazing, caring people but when I needed help in getting my results given to me so I could take these to a specialist, I had to jump through hips to be able to get to the right department. I was told my results would be ready to be picked up but when I showed up to do so the staff told me I needed to call the same department to tell them to bring my records to the front desk. The same department that os only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays (this is Monday). I asked the security guard, who was trying to be helpful and he grabbed a man who had a "STAFF" badge. Rafael Stein was not only not helpful, he was rude as he was telling me that u needed to make a phone call to speak with the woman at the front desk who was too busy to speak with me (she was talking with another employee) and when I asked him for help he was not only not helpful to me but he was very sarcastic in his tone to myself as well as an elderly woman that he led out of the hospital. What made things worse is that he poked his head or and sarcastically asked if I had his name down so that I could file a complaint. I tried to ask him why he was behaving this way and to try to say that this was probably not his fault but rather just policy that he was following but again he just poked at me with another sarcastic remark and said he was too busy to listen to me and went inside of the hospital. I think this is horrible behavior from someone representing a place that is supposed to be providing comfort and help to people. I understand the pandemic has caused us to change the way we normally go about our work but the sarcasm and rude behavior coming from Rafael Stein (he told me to remember his name so that I could complain so here you go, sir) was just too much today. I normally let behavior like this go because people have bad days but I hope that he and his family don't have a need as that elderly lady and I did today and have people treat him like this. Shameful behavior Mr Stein. I hope someone speaks with you about your rude treatment of your guests.

My Wife was sent to the behavioral unit because of an incident she had. She was put in with a bunch of crazy people and drug addicts. One guy almost killed her trying to attack her for no reason. The staff is really mean and rude to the patients. They treat them like they're nothing, like animals. This place needs to be shut down. The staff you have working in the behavioral unit is unprofessional, don't care about the patients safety or their well being. When I used to call to get an update on her they were rude. You need to pay attention and monitor this department.

Do not go to this hospital. A nurse SLAPPED me across the face to wake me up in pre op and the surgeon threatened to cancel my surgery after I was asking questions about the risks of the procedure. Horrible hospital and staff! I have already spoken with the director of risk and quality and never received a follow up regarding the disturbing treatment.

EDIT: I did contact them and in fact no one has bothered to call me back to update me. I had an awful stay. If you can avoid this hospital please do at all costs. I feel traumatized by what happened to me and I want to know what they can do to rectify the situation I went through or at least listen to the complaints I have.

I was there on Friday January 14th for a neck fusion surgery and this was by far the best hospital that I have ever been too. From the moment that I arrived and then when I was discharged the staff was nothing but caring and compassionate! I believe that the Doctor's, nurses and staff go above and beyond to provide top notch care that you would not expect here and also doing so while being short staffed at times during this pandemic. The food here also is top notch and that was a very pleasant surprise for me as normally that isn't the case. The cleanliness and COVID safety protocols that they have in place make you feel very safe! I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who is looking for a very pleasant hospital experience 😉. Thank you!

Horrible experience emergency room front desk doesn’t even act like they do anything you are not told anything just waiting in the unknown until something happens the triage nurse has no compassion just there to get her job done and go home waited for a long time just to get no update on my husband and when I asked when I could go back they told me they would ask the nurse but never even asked. Finally after getting information after 5 hours of nothing they discharge my husband and they just gave him prescriptions and not telling him what each prescription is for.

From the time I entered the Hospital to the time I was discharged, whole staff were professional, kind and helpful. There is no one person or one name to name it, but everyone that came in contact with me, all the CNA, RN, Therapist, Doctors, Admin, everyone were kind and outstanding about their professionalism and courtesy. Thank you all for Taking Good Care of Me! The Best experience ever!

Worst experience I ever had at a hospital. I literally just sat in the emergency room for an hour. The medical assistant at the front desk acted like she didn't want to help me while I had shortness of breathe and an inflammed rotor cuff due to my arthritis. When I asked her how much longer did she think the wait would be, she replied "Let me make a phone call to find out" and completely ignored me after that. On top of that the M.A. didn't even ask me why I was there. Funny thing is, I work for a doctor so I understand it's not suppose to take longer than an hour to see an emergency room doctor, especially since my fiance and I were the only ones in the waiting room. On top of that the ac was on full blast which caused me more pain.

I just had the worst experience of my life at this hospital.. I lost my sister and my mother 5 years ago my father passed away 3 months ago I was somewhat depressed I have epilepsy so I checked myself in on a 3D hole well I was unaware they were going to send me to our unit where there was chairs on wheels a young female was touching herself and another lady was unconscious and myself I said I wanted to be transferred to the 5150 unit in the emergency in the hospital well one of the employees I don't know if she's a nurse or a medical assistant she immediately when got two shots of some strong medication and I was unconscious for three days what we guys hold me down she gave me two shots I was unconscious for 3 days for absolutely no reason except I wanted to go into the hospital part of the unit instead of this small little section I have terrific insurance so there was no need for me to sit in a chair with wheels again security stole everything of value out of my bags anything to do with my hair clippers personal safety mace all gone my cash all gone I was blessed to get my wallet back and for the 3D old I requested they had put me on a 14-day hold and how those were these treat the patients is unbelievable especially on man named Greg he's a horrible individual he verbally abuses the patience they don't allow any cameras or anything in so you're unaware and you cannot the patients cannot prove anything especially the patients that have hardcore mental illness to have no way of protecting himself from individuals in this hospital in my opinion there should be an undercover agent or some sort of law enforcement to check himself in and go through the process and see for themselves how these people supposedly professionals treat the patients it's unbelievable

This doesn’t even deserve a one star. I had my friend go to this hospital on Monday morning to get help. He was held on a hold and the psychiatrist was trying to get him off his medication which is dangerous to do you can’t taper off Benzo in 5 days and have a good outcome. He tried to pin my friend and I against each other because I didn’t agree with the assumptions he had about my friend. And to make matter worst the ER lost his phone! Someone at the desk they said they put it somewhere and give it back to him. And it just mysteriously disappeared. Now we have to get another one and pay off the one that lost because people don’t know how to do their job! Never having him to go back to this hospital! I needed him to get help and they made things worst than what he came in for! No compassion from anyone. They just wanted to put a label instead seeing he just in a lot of pain. I thought they would be different than other places but they are just all the same!

I checked in on Thursday afternoon was a direct admission but was still processed at Emergency Department no big deal. I made it to room on third floor room had trash Medical waste on floor, and was very warm had an air scrubber but no a/c on room temperature about 82 degrees a little cooler than outside. I woke up on Friday morning to a nurse asking to take my blood. My IV had come out of my right arm during the night and was laying on the floor nurse began to sweat and appeared not confident in her ability to draw blood I located a previous needle stick and she used it while trying to keep from shaking or passing out I felt like doing it for her she was nervous! Saturday came with another set of events involving my roommate appearing to convulse and covered in sweat crying for help so I summoned help and asked if I could help him I pushed the only button not hidden on the wall and received response but only to be reprimanded for pushing button while patient shakes uncontrollably and sweats profusely face becomes flushed about 20 minutes of this and he is moved from room. Now I am the problem could not get help nurses set a desk and avoided any interaction also security was called to my room for my actions to help another person. The charge nurse basically made me her only patient name was Evelin very nice lady but worked too hard with little staff help which is basically just running her over she agreed. Today Sunday less interaction still no ID verify for narcotics and no water refill which I was told yesterday it was filled 3 times by my nurse who basically lied to my face about it. I would like to be heard this is not service or anything anyone should expect from a hospital staff maybe at a greasy spoon restaurant but not a hospital environment. I have many more photos and names associated with my stay here.

I just went to the hospital and they treat me better, more professionally. I want to congratulate the nurse who treated me with a lot of patience and tell her to keep it up. I don't know her name. Thank you very much to the nurse who attended me from Monday to Wednesday in avitacion 220A or B, she was very kind and patient mission needs more people like her that's why I change my review from 1 star to 5 thanks for everything if you can send me an email with the name of the nurse pleas

This is one of the worst hospital there is. My mother was there for more then 3 weeks and she was traumatized with the attention they gave her. The nurses treat mentally ill patients like if they would be prisoners. I will never step in to this trashy hospital. I hope my review helps you, choose wisely. No stars

I brought my mom to the ER with pneumonia 🥺. The staff was very helpful, I know the waiting time for the bed was long but the care provided to her was on point. I'm grateful for the prompt response of the staff to her.🙏

I just had one of the best experiences at this hospital. I was admitted for back surgery. Morning of the operation, every doctor came in and introduced themselves and explained their role during the procedure which put me at ease. Post op care was great. The nursing staff was incredibly patient and attentive towards my needs. Food was surprisingly good for a hospital. If my assigned nurse was busy with another patient, another one would come in and check in on me. Hope everyone else’s experience is just as good.

I came in to visit a sick friend, from the moment I pulled In a nice security guard guided me to the visitor parking lot. Then I took the elevator downstairs to the main lobby, where I was again greeted by a receptionist and a second security guard, doing a security check. Everything went very smoothly. Then they told me how to get to my friends room, which was down the hall up the elevator, which they also pointed out. The staff on the patient’s room were also very helpful since I need a chair to sit down next to my friend. The nurse was nice and courteous. While my visit, my friend was attended by two nurses, one that came in to take his blood pressure and she was nothing but wonderful, added, encouraging, loving, and knowledgeable. Then a second nurse came in just to check up on him to change his bed pans and asked him if he needed anything. I found my friend feeling very optimistic and doing much better from last time I visited him. Now, I am not sick But if I ever what I would be happy to be a patient there at Mission Community Hospital. Thank you for caring for my friend…. I feel much more at ease, knowing that he is in such good hands. God bless.

Horrible care! If you care about your loved ones, do not take them here especially if you will not be visiting or checking on them, they will not take care of your loved ones, they will not be careful, they will hurt them carelessly, of course there is an exception on some staff, they're not all horrible , but Id say about 90% are not good, especially the RNs on floor 3. CNAs do more than they do and handle patients with care. My mom was just there with broken bones and they grabbed her from her broken bone and tried to pick her up from there, I had to yell at the RN! She had the nerve to tell me that my mom wasn't her patient so that excused her behavior?! Never again!

My husband is a patient at this hospital. He is receiving excellent care. This is the second time he has been admitted here the nurses are very informative. The doctors are excellent and take the time to explain everything to me concerning my husband, which makes me very appreciative. We do not reside in the area we live in Hawthorne California but my husband is a patient at All Saints , long-term care facility and when ever they see that my husband needs to be taken care of they call 911 and the paramedics bring him to Mission community Hospital

HORRIBLE service at this hospital!!! I was supposed to spend only one night after knee replacement surgery with a SCOI surgeon on 9/20. Ended up there for 4 days because of their incompetence!! Nurses were not good. Only had one male nurse, Alex who was on his game and up on my meds post op. The next morning nurse, Bong, introduced himself at 8 am, said he was going to get my diabetic meds & pain meds…NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN until 4 pm! at 930 am I pressed the nurse button and explained he never came back with my meds and I was in pain! She said she would find him… called again as he never showed up… got someone else again… same thing .. they will go find him.. after 2 hours I demanded to see the charge nurse, she was no better.. couldn’t explain to me what happened to Bong?? She finally came back with meds… after 3 hours!! Took another 22 hours to get my pain controlled and back on track!! Worse time ever. I have been asked if I would do it again!! NO WAY!! Not worth the misery and pain that I suffered!! Don’t ever go to this hospital for care!!!

When you first walk into the main hospital you are greeted with a smile and a friendly, " Hello, can I help you"? The patient rooms are kept very clean. The nursing staff is attentive and kind. I was especially impressed by one of their respiratory therapist named Eric. Not only did he know how to perform the duties of his job; but I felt that he went above & beyond his duties just to make sure his patient was being taken care of to the best of his abilities without having to be asked to do so. Eric is definitely an asset to Mission Community Hospital. If you are in need of a good hospital-- I highly recommend Mission Community Hospital.

My wife ended up at Mission Community quite by accident. We are from Valencia and had actually not even heard of Mission Community before. The staff was wonderful, and Dr. Attarchi was very approachable and helpful, always explaining what was going on with her. He admitted my wife, got her fixed up, and worked to get her to a very good sub-acute facility when she was ready to transition. We had a very good experience with Mission Community.

It's real unfortunate we have to put a star in order to submit a review. This place doesn't even deserve one. I had done a review once and i deleted it because this was the same place my friend was taken to. Back in July he was at the psych ward. In November he was rushed in to the emergency room after an incident. And I thought for sure maybe this time around they look at his chart see he has a POA and a DNR! But no they didn't bother with that. I got the same treatment as I did the last time when he was in there. And I was trying to find out what was going on. Why is that when they knew his heart stopped befvore he got there did they not have a discussion with the person that is helping them? Why that it took someone else to tell me and then there was no discussion about it? When something this major happens I would hope least a doctor have enough common sense to call the POA let them know whats going on, why it happened. What to expect and etc? Did they? Of course not that be being too nice. This hospital needs a better system. Not everyone has a fax machine at home. This isn't the 90's anymore. When you need the POA papers and show that someone does have a DNR have them EMAIL it to you. And the doctor was in the wrong. If someone does have a DNR and they are on support you can discontinue it. It didn't take till he was in the ICU for someone to listen to me. He didn't want to be on any machines he didn't want anything. And after i spent $45 dollars and 20 mins later they got the papers in which the paramedics also in the wrong here and took those papers and we wouldn't have to have the rush game and find a fax place to send papers that should of been there when he arrived. I asked them not to put him back in the psych unit after dealing with someone there last time. They were able to keep him out of there till one day. And i get it and I said so can you please take him to a different place if insist on putting him in there. And of course they didn't care they did whatever they wanted. How can you be a hospital and take care of people when really you don't care about what they are trying to tell you? Instead doctors and nurse and psch people doing their jobs and helping they mock people. This place is not good. If you can go to another near by hospital you may have better chance then this place. So glad we won't have to bother with this place ever again. Oh and so his ID went missing by this place back in July along with his phone that he literally just gotten. And they claimed they never saw it and I had proof on the Find My Iphone App that it was there... Brilliant thinking right? And apparently this place also lost his other ID as well. And when I came into town to find out about some stuff.... I had found out about his shoes missing. And when I called I get, " why two weeks later you are asking about his shoes?" Well if you guys took more than 5 mins and giving medications you know why. I was never told anything. Why that it took 2 weeks? That's because I didn't know what was going on!! Leave all your stuff at home. You have a high chance never seeing it again and them saying "oh no it's not here..." and you know it was there when you have gotten there. And when he was at the psych unit... It was still the horrible experience. Instead seeing why did this happen to this person they just say he's crazy and all in his head. I tried to tell them I didn't want him there in the unit cause of past experience and he gets anxious when other people are sharing a room with him. Hence why I said " please if you have to do this please do it in another area in the hospital." Please if you value what you have.... Please avoid this place in all cost.

She needs to realize people are more important than things or the next case. Very mean and rude. But the nurses awesome 😎 I will pray for her. Amen

Very horrible Hospital or should I say bussines? This people treat patients so bad patients are dying in there never never bring your sick relatives to this HORRIBLE place. They lie so much.

Please save yourself the time and go to another hospital instead. Worse nursing staff, very rude. They would rather talk about what they were/are going to eat for lunch. Instead of helping treat my husband with a deep cut that took over 3 hours to treat and they ended up doing NOTHING. No good for nothing people.

The adjoining Asclepes clinic has great ⚕️ staff, they allow in-person exams/appointments and the wait time is short!

Don’t use their emergency services. You’ll die waiting!

I received my first shot of Pfizer from Mission Community Hospital. It was a mess. The shot didn't happen until 15 minutes after my appointment. I was not given an informational flyer to monitor and report side effects. They asked for social security and mother's maiden name which is clearly TMI. Some random person sat down next to me in blatant disregard of distancing rules. I got my second shot at CSUN. Recommend you do the same.

Very clean hospital with compassionate doctors & nurses. A special recognition to Dr. Ng & Dr. Attarchi for their care & honesty & a special nurse (Gilbert) who was also kind & caring & knowledgeable. We felt our relative was in trustworthy, caring hands.

I had gone to the ER and ended up being admitted to Med Surg floor 2 for several days. Every step of the way I felt seen and cared for. The Doctors and all the nursing staff were amazing. It was a scary time for me and they made me feel safe and taken care of!

This hospital is disgusting, if you love your family don't take them there, on Monday June 20th paramedic took Jonathan flores there, around 4pm with stomach pain, he was in the emergency room until 3am Tuesday morning, they said it was his gallbladder and they scheduled him for surgery for Thursday, they did remove his gallbladder and today Sunday 6/26/2022he still in the hospital, they transferred him to icu after wife went there to argue with them, and they said if she wants she can take hito a different hospital on her own responsibility, that they won't call an ambulance, this is unacceptable, very bad hospital.

I was here with neck and shoulder pain after a car accident, sat in the waiting room for over 2 hours not one nurse talked or acknowledge me until I asked how long will it take to see a doctor, had a very rude nurse briefly ask why I was there, did not ask about my pain or anything she walked away, and didn't see a doctor! I gave up and went to another hospital. Don't go there it's under staffed ! And really a waste of time trying to get seen here

Let me just say personally I'm not a hospital person/fan at all, but I do gotta admit that I like how all the security stuff and the nurses from the hospital were very helpful and kind. What I really love is how fast the nurses from the ER attended and help me to get to see my loved ones. I gotta admit, Mission Community Hospital Staff/Nurses/Doc's is people like you that makes a Big Difference!!!

Front lobby and waiting area was spacious once you make it within visiting hours. Staff and security were accommodating but they don't post the day's visiting hours anywhere.

My daughter had a workplace incident our main hospital is usually holly cross , but being the closest she was brought here , since arriving staff has been friendly and helpful with any questions we had regarding her surgical procedure she will be undergoing. Keep up the great example, this is how healthcare should be. Patient , caring and understanding! Thank you mission community for making the experience as smooth as possible. (:
