This place is hyped up, it does not reflect the 4.7 rating the accurate should be a 3 rating. Waited over 40 min to get seated, only to see the inside half empty, our party of 4 was not seated in the order of arrival. Took them 15 min to take our order, about 20-30 to fix the food. The taste is blah at best. we ordered Porky pig omelette Life's good pancake French toast No amazing presentation, regular creamers, eggs for omelette and Scrambled tasted as if powdered, barely any cheese in the omelette and to top it off terrible service. Therefore way over rated rating. Wish people would rate the place truthfully and save disappointment.

One of our go to spots. Cinnamon rolls are so delicious but, you better get there early before they are gone. Chicken fried steak and eggs is no disappointment either (my go to). Country biscuit is real good as well, matter of fact, I heard it being ordered like 4 times when we were there. Roast beef sandwich is so delicious, my wife is a picky eater and she loves it. BLT turkey wrap with fries is delicious as well. Just remember, this food is cooked to order so have patients.

We traveled to Colorado Springs for vacation. Tried this little restaurant for lunch. I ordered cheeseburger and husband ordered country fried steak. Also had cinnamon roll for dessert. All 3 items were great, portions were generous, and the service was fast and excellent. It was a wonderful lunch.

Very cool little place. Fun signs on every wall. Great service. Not too hard to find, but parking may be a little tricky.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast and overwhelmed by the quality and supply of food for the cost . I added phptos of the aftermath for context. Actually regretted my order at first because I didn't expect the portions as large as they were. Mistakenly ordered extra bacon too. The breakfast burrito was great, recommend getting the chorizo and hot chili. It was fat and overstuffed and came with a whole nother tortilla I didn't even touch because I was full. My only negative comment is the hash browns, but it is a perspective thing. I grew up eating Waffle House and having practically deep fried potatoes with illegal amount of grease. So they aren't bad, just not what I was expecting and that's ok. There's enough calories on the plate, I don't need another 600 in oil. This has got to be in my top breakfast places I've ever been. I'm actually struggling to name one that isn't grandmaw making me French toast.

Incredible breakfasts. Amazing prices. I haven't seen prices this normal at a breakfast place in years (...I'm looking at you First Watch and Snooze). Service was very friendly. Not much space inside the little house, but we had plenty of room to enjoy our meal once we got seated. It was also nice to not have to deal w/ the 'new' parking meters of Old Colorado City. It is only two blocks from the shopping district, so you can walk off your meal from there, if you like. We will definitely be back!

So much character and charm in this converted Victorian in Old Colorado City. Enjoy delicious food with so much to choose from, and a nice comforting vibe. Went for Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. The servings are large and you can get mimosas or Bloody Mary’s. Expect to wait a little while to be seated—this is a hot brunch spot.

First time coming to this place and I thought it was very good at a good price with the amount of food that comes with it. I would definitely come back and bring others to join next time.

Came to know about this place through Guy Fieri and DDD and really enjoyed the food. Loved everything we tried especially biscuit and gravy which was delicious. We were a little disappointed to not be able to try their famous Giant cinnamon rolls as they were sold out but everything else made up for it. Staff was nice and friendly and I do recommend going early as there was waiting even on a weekday. Looking forward to visiting again! Instagram: journey_man16

Very nice cozy local b-fast spot. We stopped for breakfast after reading lots of reviews and it was a perfect choice. Service was quick and pleasant. Food was delicious and very affordable.

Ate here twice on my trip! The food is delicious and it’s a small hole in the wall restaurant downtown old Colorado city that is truly authentic. The country biscuit is wonderful, and the bbq burger is also delicious!!! Would highly recommend and will be coming here again next time I’m in the area.

Great atmosphere!! Huge portions, best bang for you buck. Party of 6 came about 10 a.m on a Sunday and was immediately sat. Service was quick and friendly. I tried the giant cinnamon roll, I'm not a sweet fan. The cinnamon roll is huge, 6 of us all snacked on it and still did not finish it. The homemade salsa was truly homemade. Mountain Shadows is a must try if you are in Colorado Springs

Truly love this place. I've been coming here for years and I always find myself coming back for a yummy homestyle breakfast. The green chili is wonderful, they have the best Irish Coffee of any spot in the city, and the service is always friendly. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu- from homemade green chili, biscuits, chocolate chip pancakes, and cinnamon rolls bigger than your head its always a delicious meal. The price for the food is spot on and I always love being here even when it's packed full. Be sure to get a spot super early especially during tourist season. It's true, this is where the locals eat and its worth it!

Average, at best. While the food was meh, it was more reminiscent of what you would expect from a Denny's or Ihop. I think those two options may even be a bit better. Frozen hash browns, scrambled eggs and a chicken fried steak with bland gravy. Everything was just so bland and boring. The tables are very tiny and don't have room for everyone's plates. The tables are also extremely close to one another so you will be very intimate with the table next to you. It's not cozy, it's very uncomfortable. Mountain Shadows has their giant cinnamon roll going for them, (which is very delicious), but that's all they have going for them. Much better breakfast options exist in the Springs.

The food was so delicious! Could definitely see why it was featured on Triple D! Very small location so be prepared to wait a little to eat. We were lucky and didn't have to, but I think we timed it up perfectly. Known for the cinnamon rolls, but they go very quickly in the morning! Great place for lunch, but there won't be any cinnamon rolls left by that time!

We rolled in on a busy Saturday morning. The hostess seated our party of two immediately and had our drinks in 10 minutes. You really must try the Irish coffee. Our server was delightfully friendly yet also left us alone to eat our meal. Food was hot and ready quickly. The eggs were fluffy, the biscuits THICK, and the gravy had just the right amount of sausage chunks. We will def be back!

After parking on the street, walk in and wait to be seated, at this quaint blue house with wooden floors below tables surrounded by black metal chairs that have wooden seats (close to the floor grain) in Old Colorado City. The white textured walls with gray baseboards, doorframes and window trim, all look freshly painted and are adorned with fun signs: "What if the hokey pokey is what it's all about?" and "I love you more than bacon." Children's menus are available, along with black and wooden highchairs. On the table you will find a metal basket containing syrup, real sugar and sugar alternatives, ketchup, Cholula, salt and pepper. The sink area in the bathroom would use a face-lift, but I love the fun faucet placement (in the corner). The women's bathroom afords two stalls and a changing station; though it is a little tight getting around the carts that home outside the restrooms. A lot of natural light comes in through the bathroom windows and ADA bars are found in the first stall. Our waitress Sarah was wearing a tank that said "Where the L♡cals Eat" ....you pay your server at the table, after a handwritten ticket is presented. From crispy bacon to their well known cinnamon rolls (not as sweet as most cinnamon rolls and big enough to share), go on by with the family, on a date or to enjoy a meal in the corner with a good book.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast while in town and were very pleased. It was apparent that it was a locals kind of place which we love. I ordered the breakfast burrito covered in green chili. The burrito was awesome, but the hash browns could have been fried a little longer my husband had the alamonza omelet which he said was very good. It came with a side of homemade strawberry jam which was incredible. Service was outstanding and the ambiance was very cozy and welcoming. It had lots of fun signs to read. You should give it a try.

Found this place while traveling! What a great place. The food was excellent! We had breakfast, and their green chilies had true southwestern taste. The cinnamon rolls are insane. Staff was great. When I visit family here again. Definitely a go to!

The place is DISGUSTING. It is dirty and probably you going to be leaving the place with some disease. Hostess was very rude when I wanted to order food and no waitress came to our table for about long time. The only person I could see was as the hostess and I ordered my food with her only for her to be rude saying she was not a waitress and she does not take orders that I should find a waitress and order with her. Didn’t even offered to get the waitress for us. Seriously disgusting place and it looks like it hasn’t been clean for YEARS. And being right by a morgue we should expect that this place should be super clean and tidy. But NO. Sanitation should be paying them a visit, if they go there, the place probably gonna be out of business.

The food (Breakfast) was good, hot and well prepared. service was okay, not great-not horrible. The place is dirty, has a regulars vibe. I would go back.

The portions are very generous, especially for the price. The food itself is a top notch dinner experience, from the slightly weak coffee to the gravy style green chile.

The food was amazing. It’s an intimate place. Clearly converted home turned into a dining space. It held a lot more people than I expected it to hold. We ate on a Friday morning with no wait. Server did an amazing job juggling multiple tables. Food was DELICIOUS. The sausage biscuit and gravy was what made this review possible. Will definitely come back next time we are in town!

What a great local find. Coffee not bitter, portions generous and price fair. Owner is there and working and friendly. Wait was 30 minutes on a Sunday morning. A must try.

Absolutely adorable atmosphere, so cozy, very quick, everyone working there was so kind, it felt inclusive and safe, and was absolutely delicious! I had a pancake combo, and my partner had the French toast combo, I couldn't wait to dig in lol, pancakes are HUGE, bacon and hash browns perfectly crispy, and the scrambled eggs not runny not over cooked, so excited to come back to try more!!

This place never is anything less that great . We also had half a cinnamon roll and had plenty of leftovers. Perfect homey feeling place where they make you feel welcome. Extra credit for perfectly crispy hash browns.

Aside from the wait, which is an indication of how good this place is, it was great. Our 2nd time for breakfast and both times were delicious. This is an adorable old house, clean and quaint. One complaint, the patio area could use a little attention with some detailed cleaning. I had the hash browns with green chili and my wife had the huevos rancheros. They look messy but are really good. The only thing that could make them better is homemade tortillas. We had mimosas which were huge due to the fact that they ran out of clean small glasses, no problem. Our server was super friendly and attentive.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This was my favorite breakfast 28 years ago when I was in the Air Force and was just as good (and reasonable) this time around. The Life is Good pancake and the Porky Pig omelette are truly fantastic! I just hope it isn't 28 more years until I can get back!
