Guys, best Lengua and pork tacos in Lake County! The lengua is perfectly cut into cubes and the tacos are fresh. I'm coming back to try their other dishes!! Oh and the red salsa is 🔥 📛 👨‍🚒

For authentic Mexican food this is the only place that is available in this town and next 2 surrounding town or City. The food is very delicious. The owner is from Zacatecas Mexico she is here all the times I come. Ibeen here over 3 times being my coworkers with me because I like to have different input on how the food taste before writing a review. We have had almost half the menu everything was delicious texture color, presentation, everything was there. Most importantly as soon as you take that first bite it is just an explosion of beautiful tasting flavors. What I like coming here they have guava a great drink to have 300% vitamin C so many antioxidants. The place is clean although it does get a little crowded only because it is so delicious. You know you're eating at an authentic Mexican restaurant when you see old Mexican people here eating if they don't have to cook at home and they can get the same authentic dish and not have to wash the dishes this is where they are coming. LOL

The tacos are fantastic! I had fish tacos fresh, meaning they had a mayonnaise and a bit of cabbage rather than Chipotle sauce. Delicious!

Delicious food, great local Mexican food restaurant … staff is so kind and attentive! Carne asada was good and long, not a tiny piece like el norteño across the road!

For me, the best Mexican food in the Northwest suburbs. If you can handle it, ask for the orange hot sauce. Fantastic steak tacos, mind boggling sopes, friendly staff, cozy & authentic atmosphere. 🫶

I was in the neighborhood and decided to try this place which looks kind of bad outside. I am glad I tried it and this review is only my "to-go" experience. Food and service were both top-notch. I ordered 3 tacos just to try: Carnitas, Steak and Chorizo. The carnitas were juicy and well seasoned, The chorizo taco was pretty big and the tasted really good. The steak taco was just average and the meat was a bit dry for my taste. I was pleasantly surprised in general with the taste and how fresh and authentic the salsa was. I will need to stop by again to try a full dish and the quality of the guacamole which looked pretty good when I saw it served at one of the tables. The place is very small (about 10 tables max) and I am wondering if they actually can keep up with the service if they are at full capacity.

I've been having lunch there at least once a week for over 5 years! Excellent food, and Chello is an amazing host. I love their steak tacos with the orange hot sauce. Yummmm!!

This was a first visit after I googled them and saw they had wonderful reviews and a high score. It did not fail! The food was hot, flavorful and plentiful. I had the steak and shrimp fajitas and they were delicious. My Husband had the steak burrito platter and he said they were fabulous. If I wasn't so full I would go back for seconds. The food was delicious, it was small but clean, the staff was very friendly and efficient. Cannot wait to return. I want to try the chicken and see if it is as delicious as the steak and shrimp!

As someone who has been a loyal customer for over a decade, it is sad to see how the owner treats her customers, over petty things. A little over a year ago, I was told I could only get 1 salsa cup per taco and for each additional cup, there would be a charge. Fine. Times are tough, I get it. Today, I bought 6 tacos, and asked for 6 salsa cups. The girl at the counter was about to give them to me, but hesitated. She then claimed that I would be charged for "extra cups". I said I was confused, as I am allowed 1 cup per taco. She claimed that it was 1 cup for every 2 tacos. I asked when this went into effect. She lied and said that it has always been like that (It hasn't, I picked up food there like a week ago). I asked how much more it would be and paid it. I politely suggested that they could cut down their contrainer costs if they filled them more than half way. At no point did I raise my voice, say anything inappropriate, or harassing... As soon as I get home, I receive a phone call FROM THE RESTAURANT. I answer and the owner immediately began scolding me about how if I want extra salsa that I need to pay for it. She then accused me of yelling at the counter girl, while ironically yelling at me on the phone. I tried to explain that I was talking in the same calm demeanor as I am on the phone, but she kept yelling/talking over me. She then said that if she sees me again, that she is calling the police! ...Over salsa... That will not be necessary because I was already planning on boycotting that business. I've never seen an owner treat someone so poorly about something so minuscule. More concerned about $0.25 worth of salsa than the $50-75 per month that I was typically spending there. I hope she resolves her personal issues, which are causing her to act this way.

By far this restaurant always exceeds my expectations from the atmosphere the food and the owners. I had the pleasure to meet Chela, her husband and staff are always polite and eager to assist you. Everything you eat here seems to always be just what you need. If you ever get a chance definitely order an al pastor Sope it’s phenomenal.

Tried several things and all of it is amazing. They serve up limes to go with your tacos and the green salsa actually has as much flavor as the red. Very reasonable prices on everything including beer.

Best burrito and Mango margarita I ever had! So good! It doesn’t look great from the outside, but so worth coming in and giving it a try!!!! Our waitress was also very attentive!!!
