Strange place. I arrived and was greeted by a young, short, curly haired guy who just stared at me as if I entered uninvited. He was rude, weird and useless. The other staff were good. But the place needs work. It's a tired place and run down. No vibe. Suggest finding somewhere else.

Disgusting, dirty and disgraceful. This place is worthy of being shut down. I have no words. See photos. They speak for themselves… Ah, and careful to read the 5 star (BOT!) reviews.

THE ATTENTION IS TERRIBLE! The place is falling apart. One day there was a rain and the water entered everywhere. My backpack got wet along with my clothes. Water everywhere, including in the common areas such as the corridors and the reception. THE DISGUSTING BREAKFAST SERVICE, THE BREAKFASTS HAVE HAIRS. They charge 20$R for 1 egg, a slice of bread, half an apple, half an orange, a tapioca and a cup of coffee. And with the special ingredient of a cook's hair. The guy at the reception was talking on a video call all day, he was never at his job and when he was there he answered you in a bad way. In the morning the same thing, the girls who were at the reception did not know how to give you a correct answer. THE PADDING OF THE ROOMS DOES NOT CHANGE. Some have blood or dirt stains, since they are not washed. The Wi-Fi is of very poor quality, it is useless to work online because the connection is lost at all times. And despite all this, they charge quite expensive for a shared piece. The owners accept volunteers to work and exploit them at work, in addition to treating them very badly. The only good thing is that they give you a free caipirinha, but the bar prices were very high. I do not recommend it.

Loved staying at this fun shipping container-style hostel. Staff are very friendly & go out of their way to help you. Conveniently located on the main street in the town, near the local bus stops. You can easily take the local bus to the Falls or the staff can arrange daily tours, to/from the hostel. Outside seating area is great for lounging in, kitchen has all you need. Breakfast has lots of fresh fruit, coffee, freshly made omelette, light cake, various cereals. Would highly recommend this hostel! Very clean inside, no bugs, clean washrooms. Safe & quiet at night too. Loved it!

This hostel was a disappointment. We paid 55$ (275R$) per night for a private room and were shocked about the condition of the hostel & room. It certainly needs some renovation, cleaning … or more authentic website pics. What we didn’t like: - the private room & bathroom were both very dirty and overall in a very bad condition. Everything in the room looked run down. The bathroom had pubic hair around the toilet and the floors were filthy (which was not only unpleasant but a problem because you have no other storage options than the floor - The bathroom smelled like urine already before we even used anything, not bc of the plumping, it was just not cleaned probably. My towel felt on the bathroom floor after the first shower and it was completely stained and covered with hair after that - the room was TINY, just a little bigger than the bed, which by itself wouldn’t have been a big issue - but the pictures are very misleading - The pool was cloudy and a little green during our 4 days stay. We didn’t use it (this was also one of the reasons why we chose this hostel) - One staff member, who checked us in (curly hair - 01.01/20:00) was very unfriendly. He seemed to be annoyed with everything and everyone. Because of him we felt unwelcome during our stay and didn’t want to ask anything while he was working. (Pretty much one of the reasons to pick a hostel not an Airbnb) he just didn’t care. - Paying this amount per night and due to their website and Lonely Planet we definitely expected something special but only got the bare minimum What we liked: - location: bus one block away, nice food places around the corner, close to Argentina border - We specially appreciated the friendly staff members: Vici, Lina and the to guys with colored hair. - The caipirinha was tasty Overall: the pictures really don’t match the conditions we found today (01/2024). Maybe they were taken when they opened, but what you see is not what you get

POORLY BEHAVED STAFF, BAD ATTITUDES, INTRUSION OF PRIVACY. Booked over phone ahead of time, later messaged to confirm our arrival time and was laughed at that we thought we had a reservation. I should copy paste the conversation with how rude the guy was. We arrived and the same person we messaged with checked us in. He said breakfast was from 8-10am, and a free drink would be available now until 8:30pm (this was at 8:23pm). We walked to the bar and the bar tender was extremely rude, looked at my girlfriend after she asked if we could order our complimentary drinks and he said “no, you need to wait ten minutes” and then turned his back to her. We woke up the next morning wandered into the kitchen area to see no breakfast, we asked, the host said we should have booked it the night before and it’s $20 reais per person, our check in host never mentioned this. And lastly as we searched online (the WiFi is awful btw) in our private room for a place to eat breakfast a staff member entered our locked private room with a key card (at 9:45am, 1.25 hrs before checkout) and I happened to not be wearing clothes, very invasive breach of security and privacy. We ended up walking 20 min to a restaurant to have breakfast. Nothing good about our experience. This place looks so cool, and the vibe online looked great but don’t be fooled.

ive been travelling South America for 3 months now this hostel has been the most expensive 31€ ( without breakfast )for 1 private room and by far the worst experience I had and when I paid the 20 reals for breakfast I was shocked 😳 it’s a shame guys that u offer that bad food for 20 reals while u have so nice fruits in Brazil !!!! Mike ( not sure 100% of his name ) but the one who was working Feb 8th at 5 pm is definitely not welcoming and was replying to me with very minimum information the kitchen is not very clean despite the daily cleaning but after 1hour it become very dirty for people who want a décent private room it’s definitely not the place to be

I'f you're young and wanna have a nice experience in Foz do Iguaçu then this is the perfect hostel for you. The prices are fair, the people there are polite and always willing to help, but they are on their own time (which is fair, it's a chill place, but might make you almost loose a scheduled Uber because they took 40 minutes to make us a drink kkkk). They have a pool, the couples room is very clean and organized. They are the kindest on leaving a place for the guests to leave their Bagage if they arrive before the check in (which saved our lives!). The place is also open for visitors to have a drink (4/5) and eat some empanadas (3/5) and guests get a free caipirinha (really strong one kk) until 20pm. You can read books, play games and socialize. And for 16 reais more you get an amazing breakfast with tapioca, egg, bread and fruits.

Beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. Great common areas. Is very close to a bus stop that can take you to the falls and across the border to Argentina, but wish it was a little closer to the city center area

Very fun atmosphere, clean rooms and bathroom, clean white sheets and cozy blankets. The stuff are always happy to help and the location is just near a bus stop from which you can take a bus to the waterfalls. - we didn’t have hot water in the shower but it was okay because it was really hot outside -

Stayed at the Tetris Hostel for 3 nights. The first night we stayed in the ten bedroom unit, it was a tad bit congested and the space was very tight. We then upgraded to a private room for the next two nights. Each room had its own private bathroom and shower that was easily accessible. The private room was nice and locked from the outside and inside with a key. Overall the facility was clean and tidy. There was free breakfast every morning and a free drink from the bar every night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to personal needs. They had a variety of knowledge of things to do and places to go around the area. If you’re in the area this place is highly considerable.

Great atmosphere, well located and good prices. Staff was very helpful and friendly. It has basically everything you need, kitchen, great rooms, bar, garden and swimming pool. One of the best hostels I've been in South America. Only downside is that the Internet doesn't work very well.

Some of the staff were very rude. Wouldn’t go again even though the hostel it self was pretty cool.

Great hostel. Nice service and atmosphere. A little on the more expensive side. Breakfast used to be included. Now it's extra. I would stay here again.

We contacted the hostel +24 hours in advance with the kind request to change our reservation to the next day. Unfortunately the hostel staff sticked to the Hostelworld policies and showed 0 flexibility or willingness to solve this issue in a reasonable way. Only after announcing that I would share my experience online, they suggested to give the paid amount in bar credit. We already decided to go to a more friendly and service oriented hostel. Too bad.

The window didn’t close properly and the mosquitoes were coming in and biting us. The room is not cleaned daily. It is not sound proof and very loud whenever people are walking at the second floor or there is music at bar. We ended up leaving before the end of the stay. Not sure why this place has a blue star in lonely planet. The vibe is cool and the bar makes nice caipirinha but i don’t recommend staying there.

Best Hostel! Very clean, the stuff is amazing. You can meet here people from all over the world. I didn't stay in the drom, I parked My van outside and spent the time in the hostel. I felt welcome and safe. The pool is nice. Thank you guys!

This place is disgusting. The people at the reception are rude, they treat their guests badly, there are times when there is not even someone attending. The refrigerators are dirty, there is even rotten food inside. The breakfast had hair inside. The sheets are stained and dirty. They treat guests and volunteers who work there in exchange for lodging! There are much better hotels nearby.

👍👍 Great food, fair price. We ate 1 Brasa classic, 1 Brasa classic with dried tomatoes, 1 orange juice, 1 Sicilian lemonade and 2 of the house's desert. Paid R$105. Lemonade and juice could improve, they were too watery. Service was very good.
