This is a very nice botanical garden and blue iguana sanctuary. The gardens are pretty and designed to provide a decent amount of shade as you walk through them. There are several different gardens with various themes, including an orchid garden. (Unfortunately not very many were blooming in September.) We saw quite a few blue iguanas (including one in the parking lot and many more in the gardens), parrots, agouti, and some other varieties of lizards, so if your enjoy spotting wildlife as well as looking at tropical plants, this is a great choice. The gift shop is pretty good too if you're into that kind of thing, and they have several restrooms available throughout the gardens.

Highly recommend visiting this Park! The Blue Iguana Tour was closed when we visited, but make sure to plan your trip to include that tour as it is worth while! Very helpful staff. Plenty of parking available too.

As it was a windy day we decided to check out the botanical gardens. Normally you would have to pry us off the beach or pool but this was actually a worthwhile alternative with beautiful interesting orchids, flowers, herbs and fruit trees. Apparently August- September is when you see a lot more flowers but it was still beautiful. Highly recommended.

Loved seeing all the blue iguanas here. We also saw lots of interesting plants and some birds. It's a well curated botanical garden. Definitely worth a stop.

I love botanic gardens and this one doesn't disappoint. Peaceful walk through with beautiful flowers and nature. We saw wild Cayman Parrots wild blue iguanas as well as other native birds. If you like a little hike with a beautiful garden/park all around you, this is the place for you. The staff was helpful, friendly and the gift shop had some of the best souvenirs we found on the island.

Visited again as part of our annual trip to Grand Cayman. Unfortunately no orchids this time of year . Make sure you visit in the am as it gets very hot in the pm. The blue iguanas are the highlight of any visit. Self guided tour. Davindoff's concrete animal sculptures have been moved here. Worth a visit. Skip the gift shop unless you want to disturb the lackluster staff. They made us feel as if we were bothering them.

Home of the endangered Blue Iguana. True to its reputation there was indeed a huge Blue Iguana waiting on the lawn when we arrived (and not the plastic one either). Mission accomplished. We could probably have turned around, but I sure am glad we didn't. The gardens are stunning, especially the colour garden. I especially enjoyed the Caymanian homestead setup, with medicinal plants and fruit trees. It's a great place to make a wish list of things you have never eaten. Although it isn't blooming season for the orchids, we had fun hunting for the hidden flowers and spotted 5. On the woodlands walk, we were treated to an industrious woodpecker and an untagged baby Iguana. And there was a Cayman Racer (snake) in a potplant on the way out, too.

Wonderful place place to visit. So many plants and animals to see. Soo many details to look for. Definitely recommend others to visit. It was also a nice break for the coastal winds. Friendly staff. Great afternoon!

We all really enjoyed the morning we spent at the botanical gardens. The gardens were nicely spread out and very well maintained, though the complementary map/ guide left a bit to be desired. We ran across several wild iguanas, a handful of lovely birds, and a couple of turtles. The iguana conservatory also provided a bit of excitement and interest. Didn't see any flowering orchids in that Garden/ Grove, but the Color Garden was stunning.

Vast area with 10 garden areas. Depending on how much heat and humidity you can handle, you will roughly be able to spend around an hour to max 90 mins here. The heat on the island is sweltering. You must visit the Iguana Conservation Area. Tons of iguanas in their own habitat and some on the paths too. Second on the list will be the Orchid's walk, it is a beautiful walkable viewing area and nice stroll. Then you have the heritage garden, a traditional garden setting of a Caymanian home, Finally, the color garden, it is filled with plants of vivid colors, bright contrasting flowers that are truly bold and beautiful.

Nice botanical gardens to have a look around for a couple of hours, a fair few interesting trees and plants along with wildlife inc iguana sanctuary, wild iguana, the odd snake, turtles and parrots. Shop to by gifts from. Bit pricy though at $50 entry per person. So not really good value for money.

Great park but a bit out of the way. They have a splash pad for the kids to cool down in while the adults took turns exploring the gardens. A fun adventure for our family.

Well worth the drive to wonder around the grounds by following various paths. Watch out for Blue Iguana and visit the iguana recovery centre. Not no coffee or food so bring you own. Easy parking

Beautiful park that's huge! We saw parrots, moth caterpillars and the famous blue iguana! They also have a large kids area that has a 3 story look out, elevated wood huts, a coy pond, education area, etc. Give yourself at least 2 hours for your visit but you could make an entire day of your visit. So many things to see and enjoy!

Great place to walk around and explore the grounds. We went early in the morning to avoid some of the heat. While the orchards were not blooming there was plenty else to see. There are also lots of Blue Iguanas roaming freely as you near the woodlands trail. The woodlands trail to the Blue Iguana conservation center was very peaceful walk. The staff that we encountered were all very friendly. Highly recommend if your looking to do something other then a beach day, plus there are some good restaurants / attractions nearby.

Excellent collection of flowers, palms, and other plant specimens. Bug spray is available if you need it. We didn't use it and we were fine. Trails and paths are clearly marked. Our favorite was the color garden. Signs are displayed throughout the gardens to help visitors learn about the plants and animals. The blue iguana sanctuary was nice to stroll through. We spent about 1.5 hours here. Parking is plentiful. If you're going to Rum Point, make this a stop along the way.

Disappointing. Blue iguana was cool and you can see many of them. That’s the only highlight. The rest was just a normal garden. Very difficult to get to. Front desk wasn’t friendly either.

My family and I visited the park late in the day on a brutally hot and humid afternoon. Despite the heat we managed to enjoy our stroll through the garden. We arrived after the Iguana exhibit closed so sadly we missed that but we did see our share of wild iguanas. Both the blue iguana and the invasive green ones. Being early June the park wasn't in full bloom, but the plant life still put on quite the show.

We were planning to go to the blue iguana reserve and I didn't fully realize that the reserve was inside the botanical gardens. This botanic park is quite big with multiple different gardens. We just checked out the children's garden after we saw the iguanas. The children's garden area is huge and very cool!

Decided to visit this place during our stay on Grand Cayman. It was easy enough to find. They did have some interesting plants and the Blue Iguanas were something to see; however, there were a lot of dead plants and trees. The longest trail you walk, which in the heat almost killed us, had very little to see. All in all, I do not believe it is worth the price.

Lovely place to visit. I suggest early morning as we got there at around midday, and it was extremely hot and humid. There is shade, but because of the trees, there is little or no breeze. There is plenty of wildlife there and especially the blue iguanas in the excellent conservation facility. They also roam around the park .

We visit every year. Not crowded. Lovely aspects to these gardens. We like the palm walk and color garden best. And the gazebo!! Lovely breezes mmmmm. New in 2024, a fantastic children's park. It's awesome!! So much for kids to do. Active things. Nice water feature, maze, slides, observation tower, climbing structures and cool tree houses. Places for parents to sit and watch. Splash pad to cool off! Great addition. 👍

The grounds were absolutely beautiful! The gift shop had the best quality souvenirs on the island at 1/3 the cost of any other shop that we visited.

Beautiful! Gorgeous! Absolutely stunning! I’m a sucker for plants, so I was in hog heaven walking around this botanical garden. So many unique plants and trees! And you get to see the blue iguana conservation area too! That was just as impressive as the garden. I highly recommend as part of your visit!

Visiting the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park was an enchanting experience! The garden is a haven of beauty and tranquility, offering an incredible variety of indigenous plant species. From vibrant flowers in full bloom to towering, palm trees, the diversity of flora was breathtaking. The pathways were well-maintained, making it easy to navigate, and the strategically placed benches provided the perfect spots to pause and soak in the serene surroundings. Highlights included the colour garden, where colorful butterflies danced around, which exuded peace and harmony. The blue iguanas were something to see as they basked in the sun. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful retreat, the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is a must-visit destination. I highly recommend it for families, couples, or even solo explorers. But, please don't forget to wear your bug spray or you'll get little love tags from mosquitoes to remind you of your visit. I can't wait to return in a different season to see how the landscape transforms! Rating: 5/5 Stars.

The weather did not wish to cooperate with us, but the gardens were amazing. Started with the Orchid walk, went through the Colors of the island and the desert patch (as one of the employees noted very rustic) saw the desert house and viewed the blue iguana sanctuary. Amazing place. At the time it was $25 USD for tourists

Finally got to see some orchids in bloom! Beautiful gardens and walking trails. The Blue iguanas are looking great. The conservation efforts are paying off. The Childrens area has a wonderful tower to see parrots flying above the tree tops.

Most reviews I’ve seen say it’s a 60-90 minute stop. My wife and I spent 2.5 hours there walking the whole thing. It would have been nice if we had another hour so the pace we were on wasn’t as quick. We are both picture takers and I took close to 300 myself and several videos

Enjoyed an interesting, educational and fun visit to the botanical gardens. Paid a little extra for a guide tour with Hal and it made all the difference. He explained about the significant and beautiful plants and animals we encountered. Blue Iguana center is at least a half mile walk from the headquarters but worth it to see these endangered reptiles. Bring plenty of water. Gift shop has very good prices. Also we were there during a big cruise ship day and was not crowded at all.

Super fantastic! I am not a huge fan of gardens but this was very impressive. Just the sheer number of gorgeous flowers, plants, bushes and trees. Also history of earlier living and multiple sightings of Blue Iguanas. My wife is handicapped so our tour was on a golf cart and lots of details, sights and smells. Guide was best ever.

Amazing park. Very chill place to wander around. We saw a "Cayman rabbit", a small snake, little turtles, lots of birds. Didn't see a blue iguana though. They closed the conservation area at 12:30, earlier than usual, so we missed it. We went on Saturday and still barely met any people. There are many places to sit and take a break with a nice view. Gazebo is really nice. They also sell snacks: good ice cream, drinks. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience.

This place is a great escape! If you’re into quiet, flowers, peaceful scenic walks. Perfect if your done with lying on the beach all day. Great splash park for young kids. Good family picnic day. Clean and classy welcoming center/gift shop. I’d come often if I lived here but unfortunately don’t.

This is a MUST on the island. So neat to see the blue iguanas and all the plants. The one thing we wish we would have done is the guided tour. Hal offered me a ride back to the visitors center in the sweltering heat and gave me a half a tour and it was my favourite part! Had we known how engaging and fun he was, we definitely would have paid the extra for a guided tour.

  • 5/5 Rachelle P. 1 year ago on Google
Loved this place! Went on a weekday and it wasn’t busy. It was even a cruise ship day, but not crowded. We were lucky to see a lot of big and small blue iguanas around the property walking freely. Walking around the entire property was fun and easy to do. All flat walking, which was nice as I am pregnant. Mosquitoes weren’t bad like all the other reviews, and I usually get eaten alive by them. I did have mosquito spray. Bring your own water jug-it gets hot in the summer. We went in July. The blue iguana conservation was cool. There were some employees there and we got a chance to ask a lot of questions. FYI it is off to the side and looks like it’s closed or locked, but you just have to pull up on the latch to open the gate. Hours of operation are listed online. Highly recommend this stop in the Caymans!

I had an incredible visit here. It was fascinating to see so many blue iguanas and to hear about the breeding strategies as they try to rebuild the population in the island. I also enjoyed walking through the mangroves and orchid. Be sure to time your visit to take the iguana tour!

Amazing gardens and great experiences with the Blue Iguana! This is really worth it! Would visit again! Lots of different gardens- color garden, tree garden, etc. There is a woodland walk that is worth doing! Would recommend highly and visit again!

This is a beautiful place to visit if you enjoy botanic gardens and nature, and makes for a great activity on cloudy days. You can book a tour or just browse the gardens on your own. We decided to browse and take our time. It was amazing to see the blue iguanas wandering around and all of the stunning plants. It was lush and tropical! Also one of the tour guides was kind enough to give us tips on his favorite spots to see in the garden, and we were lucky enough to catch the rare jade vines starting to bloom!

  • 5/5 Rachaelann Yoder K. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely worth a stop by! The gardens were beautiful and you can see several wildlife creatures along the paths. You can do just a short walk around or take several of the smaller paths or 1 mile path and make it a longer adventure. Kid friendly, there’s a children’s play area and seemed stroller friendly to me as well. And the sights are breathtaking

  • 5/5 Bill ~. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely worth a trip. It’s better to go early in the day as the blue iguanas tend to stay under cover as the day gets hotter. We saw two out in the wild as we asked around the park. Lots of beautiful birds and butterflies as well!

Definitely worth visiting! We saw one Blue iguana and a handful of birds; Northern Flickers and Cayman Island Parrots were among them. Their plant selections were a range of mixtures. A very beautiful place!

We were lucky enough to take a director’s tour throughout the garden. John was knowledgeable, passionate and very pleasant. His work upgrading the surrounds is astounding. The variety of plants is remarkable and well placed. A must visit!!

Such a beautiful park. It is so relaxing here and just great to get away and be out with the peach and quiet in the nice trees and flowers. It was nice to see the blue iguana which is native to Cayman Islands and listed in the endangered species list. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit.
